can we just listen to Disabled people when they say what accommodations they need??? Like it really isnโ€™t that hard to just take someoneโ€™s word on what is best for their own body! Whether itโ€™s more or less or different than what you deem they need it really isnโ€™t your place to say!!!
Sometimes, people need more than they show! Especially if theyโ€™re used to being in pain all the time, then they wonโ€™t always display that discomfort.
Sometimes the accommodations someone needs are different than what you assume. A friend who struggles with noise sensitivity may ask for you to turn on a different type of music, instead of turning it down, and if that is what they express they need you donโ€™t have to say โ€œoh no I can just turn it down!โ€ and ignore them saying that that isnโ€™t necessary because your idea of noise sensitivity is different than their own experiences and needs.
And sometimes people need less than you try to provide! Or simply donโ€™t want that accommodation at the time! And hereโ€™s the crazy part: this applies even if what they say to do could hurt them. Obviously this isnโ€™t a rule for every situation*, but for some it absolutely is. If your friend wants to tag along for, say, a hike, and they have joint pain it isnโ€™t your place to add in โ€œoh no but they canโ€™t do [the hike]! Theyโ€™ll be in pain! We have to do something else to accommodate them!โ€ If that person expressed a desire to go, especially if offered other options prior that wouldnโ€™t hurt them, let them live. Let them do the thing that puts them in pain, because Disabled people donโ€™t always want to be shoved into a little box of safety. Absolutely sometimes they do, and some might always want to, but if they donโ€™t, then let them make their own choices for their body. Just as anyone else does. You go out and get drunk, even if it gives you a hangover. You go skating even if youโ€™re shit at it and scratch up your knees a bunch. Just because someone is Disabled doesnโ€™t mean that they canโ€™t do the same thing and do that fun thing that hurts them.
I donโ€™t know if Iโ€™m displaying my point how I want, so hereโ€™s my own example: I am allergic to the cold. Anything below 60 degrees (f) I get hives. Any water cooler than a fucking warm shower I get hives. My joints donโ€™t do great when itโ€™s cold out. This does not mean that when I say I want to go swimming, you can say โ€œoh but you canโ€™t youโ€™ll get hives!โ€ Or โ€œno you canโ€™t do that youโ€™ll be in pain!โ€ Because. I know that. I know that. I know my Disability better than anyone else can, and I can ask for accommodations I need. I am not a child to be wrapped in bubble wrap so I donโ€™t get hurt. My body is my body and I can do with it what I want, and face the consequences. Likewise, just because I said I wanted to go swimming doesnโ€™t mean that when I donโ€™t want to go out and muck around in the snow it is anyoneโ€™s right to say โ€œoh but you wanted to swim earlier, so obviously it isnโ€™t that bad for you!โ€ Or โ€œoh itโ€™s fine itโ€™s not that cold! Just wear a sweater!โ€ Because at that time I need and want different accommodations and that should be listened to and considered accordingly, as far as it can be in that situation.
Seriously. Just listen to us. We are in our own bodies. We know ourselves. It really isnโ€™t that hard
*a situation where this point would be null is, for example, a situation where the person has been peer pressured into doing something, or one where you know the person well and know that the endurance of pain is a self-harming behavior

a while back my mom discovered that the owner of the company was stealing basically all of the money that he was supposed to submit for things like 'taxes' and 'health insurance' and 'court-mandated payments' for the employees, listing them on the pay stubs but then pocketing the money to help keep the company afloat
she then made sure that everybody in the company knew, submitted her resignation effective immediately, and spent about the next week calling government offices to report every crime, regulatory violation, and breach of employment contract that she could think of. and now it looks like the series of investigations that she kicked off might be the thing that finally destroys this man's company.
sometimes I'm proud of her

Amazon is a piece of shit website and I hate it. I hope I get this item and it matches specification, and after that I'm never using it again.
I find an item I want to buy. Click "buy".
"You have to log in to your account!" Okay, fine. I appearantly have an account on here since ages ago, my password manager has saved my login details. Log in, click buy.
"Your main payment method has expired!" Okay, I'll remove it and add a new. How do I remove it? I can't remove it. I can change the expiration date on the expired card for some reason but I can't remove it. Aight. I'm adding a virtual card and transferring enough to cover only this transaction because fuck you you're not getting my real one.
"Heyyyyyyy so you know we said shipping would take a week and cost $X, yeah that was actually a lie, there are two shipping options, one that takes a month and costs $X, and one that takes a week and costs $Y." Cool. Cool cool cool. Fine, I'll pay the extra $9 to get the one week shipping you already promised me. Ah, that means there's not enough funds on the virtual card. Add more.
"Order placed! You'll get an email confirmation." Okidok, let's check my email.
"Order confirmed! Also, Order Cancelled." What. Why.
"You don't have an ID linked to your account so we decided to cancel this order until you verifiy your identity!" You knew this was the case during the entire order process. You didn't ask me to until now? You pieces of shit. Fine, I'll verify identity.
"Please give us access to your webcam and hold up your photo ID in front of it." Okay, I got my ID and... no, you are trying to access my virtual camera that is used for streaming. I need you to access my physical camera that can actually see outside of my computer. How do I change...? Okay, I can't change it. Cool. Cool cool cool. Guess I'll bring this up on my phone instead then.
"You're logging in from a new device, in order to protect your identity-" Yeah yeah, email me the code like when I logged in on the computer, get on with- "please solve these puzzles!"
Are. You. Fucking. KIDDING ME.
After solving the piece of shit puzzles and taking photos of my ID, they go "aight we done, you're getting an email with more info".
"We're going to review the information you submitted and make a decision on whether to un-cancel the order. Please wait up to 3 business days for this."
GREAT. THANKS.

How to Protect Yourself from Personal Loan Phishing Scams
Tumblr media
In todayโ€™s digital world, personal loans have become more accessible, allowing borrowers to apply online and receive funds quickly. However, this convenience has also led to a rise in phishing scams, where fraudsters attempt to steal your personal and financial information by posing as legitimate lenders. These scams can result in identity theft, financial loss, and fraudulent loan applications in your name.
If youโ€™re planning to apply for a personal loan, it is essential to understand how phishing scams work, the warning signs to look for, and the best ways to protect yourself.
1. What Are Personal Loan Phishing Scams?
A phishing scam is a fraudulent attempt to trick individuals into providing sensitive information such as bank details, Aadhaar number, PAN card, OTPs, or login credentials. Scammers typically impersonate banks, NBFCs, or online lending platforms and contact borrowers via emails, phone calls, SMS, or fake websites.
Once they obtain your information, they can:
Steal money from your bank account
Take a loan in your name
Misuse your identity for financial fraud
Access and sell your personal data on the dark web
2. Common Types of Personal Loan Phishing Scams
2.1 Fake Loan Approval Emails & SMS
Fraudsters send emails or SMS messages claiming that your loan has been pre-approved or that you qualify for a low-interest personal loan. These messages often contain links leading to fake lender websites designed to steal your personal information.
2.2 Fake Loan Websites & Apps
Scammers create websites and mobile apps that look like real financial institutions. They trick users into entering personal and banking details, which are then used for fraudulent activities.
2.3 Fraudulent Customer Service Calls
You may receive a phone call from a scammer pretending to be a bank representative. They claim you must provide your OTP, Aadhaar, PAN, or bank details to complete your loan application. Once you share these details, scammers can withdraw money or take loans in your name.
2.4 Loan Processing Fee Scams
Fraudsters promise quick loan disbursal with no documentation but demand advance processing fees or a loan insurance fee. Once the fee is paid, the scammer disappears, and no loan is disbursed.
2.5 Social Media Loan Scams
Some scammers advertise fake loans on Facebook, Instagram, or WhatsApp and ask potential borrowers to contact them privately. Once engaged, they request confidential details, leading to identity theft.
3. Red Flags to Identify Loan Phishing Scams
3.1 Offers That Sound Too Good to Be True
If you receive an offer promising guaranteed loan approval with no credit check, zero documentation, or extremely low-interest rates, itโ€™s likely a scam.
3.2 Unsolicited Loan Messages
Legitimate lenders do not send random SMS, WhatsApp messages, or emails offering personal loans. Be cautious if you receive messages from unknown numbers or email addresses.
3.3 Fake Loan Websites
Before applying for a loan online, always verify the websiteโ€™s domain name. Scammers often create fake websites with slightly modified spellings of real lenders to trick borrowers.
3.4 Requests for Upfront Payments
No genuine lender will ask for advance processing fees before loan approval. If a lender insists on upfront payments via UPI, Paytm, or Google Pay, itโ€™s a scam.
3.5 Pressure to Act Immediately
Scammers create urgency by saying things like, "Limited offer โ€“ Apply now!" or "Your loan will be canceled if you donโ€™t act fast." A real lender will give you time to review the terms.
3.6 Request for Personal Information Over the Phone
A legitimate bank or NBFC will never ask you for OTPs, passwords, or CVVs over the phone. If someone does, hang up immediately.
4. How to Protect Yourself from Loan Phishing Scams
4.1 Apply for Loans Only from Trusted Lenders
Always apply for a personal loan through registered banks, NBFCs, or reputed online lenders. Here are some safe options:
๐Ÿ”— IDFC First Bank Personal Loan ๐Ÿ”— Bajaj Finserv Personal Loan ๐Ÿ”— Tata Capital Personal Loan ๐Ÿ”— Axis Finance Personal Loan ๐Ÿ”— Axis Bank Personal Loan ๐Ÿ”— InCred Personal Loan
4.2 Verify the Lenderโ€™s Website
Check if the website URL starts with "https://" (secure site).
Look for official lender details on the RBI website or lenderโ€™s official website.
Avoid websites with poor design, spelling errors, or unusual domain names (e.g., "axisbankloans.xyz" instead of "axisbank.com").
4.3 Never Click on Suspicious Links
Do not click on links in unsolicited emails or messages claiming to be from a bank or NBFC. Instead, visit the official website by typing the URL manually.
4.4 Avoid Sharing Personal Information Online
Scammers may ask for your Aadhaar, PAN, or bank details via email, phone, or WhatsApp. Never share sensitive information with unknown sources.
4.5 Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Use 2FA on your banking and email accounts to protect against unauthorized access. This adds an extra layer of security if your password is compromised.
4.6 Check Reviews & Ratings Before Downloading Loan Apps
Before installing a loan app, check:
App permissions (Avoid apps that ask for access to contacts, photos, and messages).
Reviews and ratings on Google Play or App Store.
If the app is registered with an RBI-approved lender.
4.7 Monitor Your Bank & Credit Report Regularly
Check your credit report and bank statements for unauthorized loan applications or suspicious transactions. If you spot any fraudulent activity, report it immediately.
5. What to Do If You Are a Victim of Loan Phishing?
If you have fallen victim to a loan phishing scam, take these steps:
1๏ธโƒฃ Contact Your Bank Immediately โ€“ Report any unauthorized transactions and request to block your account if necessary. 2๏ธโƒฃ Change Your Passwords โ€“ Update your internet banking, email, and loan account passwords immediately. 3๏ธโƒฃ File a Cyber Crime Complaint โ€“ Report the fraud to the Cyber Crime Portal (www.cybercrime.gov.in) or call the National Cyber Crime Helpline (1930). 4๏ธโƒฃ Report to RBI & Consumer Forum โ€“ If you have been tricked into a fake loan scheme, report it to the RBI and National Consumer Helpline (1800-11-4000). 5๏ธโƒฃ Monitor Your Credit Report โ€“ Check for unauthorized loans taken in your name and dispute them with credit bureaus like CIBIL and Experian.
Stay Alert & Borrow Safely
Personal loan phishing scams are on the rise, but you can stay protected by being vigilant. Always verify loan offers, apply only through trusted lenders, and avoid clicking on suspicious links.
For safe and secure personal loan options, apply here: ๐Ÿ‘‰ Compare & Apply for a Personal Loan
By staying cautious and informed, you can protect yourself from loan fraud and ensure a safe borrowing experience.

#the groups and works i avoid are ones that make characters who do generally questionable things into morally good/perfect people#idk. whenever people get nasty or w/s it seems to be when people ask reasonable questions abt the seriesโ€™ morality#recent example in mind but like. idk. with more personal/petty examples i feel like people will just sand a character down to being nicer#or more decent to fit some mold and maybe while its still similar to canon its a lot less interesting#idk this is just a mini rant ill delete it later. god forbid we enjoy characters who make bad choices and are mean#idk i dont usually leave my little hole but it feels like the worst zelda fans are deep in purity culture regarding characters#and donโ€™t analyze the text beyond what youre told and never going any deeper bc it would require thought and discomfort#idk ig with [character] (cuz i know thisll get picked ul by tag stuff) i just. dont like how he just gets turned into a decent guy?#like hes an asshole but thats it hes more pleasant than anything? its not not canon but its not interesting. its neuters him#yknow? like hes down for robbing people at the bare minimum shut uo about tax fraud heโ€™s a thief literally in the text#im going off the rails. bht i feel like people lash out at characters who are unignorably grating or morally impure#and sand down the ones whose flaws can be ignored. ofc i feel like the main 3 esp with these last few games get the worst of it#and i can get why considering the issues baked into how this series work but it just makes a lot of things boring
