i get few comments on my fic but it's so endearing how those who do leave these long comments pointing out so many details, even some i might not have noticed even though i wrote the bitch....... writing truly is a two-way street of presentation and interpretation. i've gotten so and so comment like "oh does x mean y" and well, on my end i didn't see it but now that you've brought it up i think you're right and you know my text in a way i never even conceived until now!! i've also gotten a few comments on the themes and it makes me insane!!! INSANE i tell you. someone pointed out like, the gods' isolation and their distance from the simple mortal pleasures and i'm sitting here like YEEEEESS not ONLY did i do my job of conveying that specific loneliness of the pedestal but YOU are picking up what i'm putting down!!! or when i get mystery guesses backed by EVIDENCE and i have to sit on my hands and keep my peace!!!! now listen, some of you have fallen for red herrings, but this is perfect because that means the red herrings are working ahahah BUT ALSO SOME OF YOU HAVE GUESSED SOME POINTS CORRECTLY so!!!! SO COOL

and for the record that's not to say that i don't care about the simple comments like "wow i love this!" or "thanks for writing!" because that still means what i wrote was enough to pierce through someone's indifference, motivated them to interact. that's so special

i completely understand & agree with the backlash against students using chatgpt to get degrees but some of you are out here saying "getting a degree in xyz means pulling multiple consecutive all-nighters and writing essays through debilitating migraines and having severe back pain from constantly studying at your desk and chugging energy drinks until you get a kidney stone and waking up wishing you were dead every day, and that's just part of the natural process of learning!!!" and like. umm. i don't think that any of us should have had to endure that either. like maybe the solution for stopping students from using anti-learning software depends on college institutions making the process of learning actually sustainable on the human body & mind rather than a grueling health-destroying soul-crushing endeavor

My favourite underrated thing about Louis de Point du Lac is that he truly is the least curious vampire to ever be made and he does not give fuck about vampires despite being one.

Its Claudia who goes to libraries, reads the folklore, tries to learn as much as she can and pushes Lestat for answers about who made him and where the others are. Claudia says Vampire Pride and Louis says hmmm Vampire Tolerance.

And Louis...truly does not care about vampire history,law, culture. He's never even thought to ask. There are vampire laws?...ok...Lestat never cared about them and he's not going to either, lol. He's broken a few and he will continue to do so. Oh you have a coven? he's not gonna join it, he's gonna do his own thing. but good for you good for you.

the 500+ year old Coven Leader, he's gonna call Louis, Maitre, actually.

He has fire powers? thats kinda cool. he'll learn that but only cause it lets him vent his feelings about Lestat.

Lestat and Armand say the name of the vampire queen in front of him and Lestat straight up says, "Louis has no idea who that is" and do you think Louis cares, outside of the fact that for some reason it means he can't kill Lestat?
