Portable Outlook Mac Backups with Mail Backup X: Built to Move
Data that lives in one machine, tied to one setup, often becomes fragile. You may not notice this until something shifts, such as acquiring a new device, changing your workspace, traveling, or needing a repair. Outlook for Mac does its job well inside its own environment, but its data doesn’t travel easily. Mail Backup X shifts the balance by creating portable Outlook Mac backups independent of the client or the system.
Tumblr media
You can take your archives with you, store them on multiple platforms, and open them independently of Outlook. This creates a working model where your information remains accessible wherever you are.
Setting Up an Outlook Mac Backup That Moves with You
So, first, let’s see how exactly you can do that with the help of “Mail Backup X.”
Begin by opening Mail Backup X and clicking on “My Backup Profiles.” Select “Add New Backup” to begin.
Choose Outlook Mac and then the tool will locate and link to the local database without needing a manual path.
Pick the folders you want to back up.
Give the backup profile a name that reflects its purpose or contents.
Select a storage location. This might be your Mac’s internal drive, an external USB drive, or a connected cloud account. All options create the same .mbs format.
Since portability is the goal, use cloud or external drives as your primary or mirror location. You can add one or more mirrors by clicking the “Add Mirror” button and selecting additional destinations.
Set the schedule. Automatic backups can detect new emails and act as needed. Recurring backups can run at fixed times, every hour, daily, weekly, based on your preference.
If you plug in a USB drive and register it, the tool can automatically copy your Outlook Mac backups to that drive each time it connects.
Click save. The first backup starts immediately. You can continue using Outlook Mac while it runs in the background.
Accessing Your Portable Outlook Mac backups
Once the backup of your Outlook Mac data exists, you can move it anywhere. If you open the software on another Mac or a Windows PC with Mail Backup X installed, you can import the archive using the “Open Archive” button. This creates a new profile in the viewer, where your emails appear exactly as they were backed up, folders intact, attachments preserved, timestamps in place.
You can search through the archive as though it were still part of your live email. The search bar handles both basic queries and complex expressions. This makes it easy to locate a specific piece of information, even inside a large, multi-year archive.
Exporting to Other Formats Without Losing Portability
Let’s say you’re no longer using Outlook or need to switch to a different client. The export feature allows you to convert your Outlook Mac backed up data into formats compatible with the most popular email platforms. You can export an entire folder to PST for Microsoft Outlook or choose EML files for clients like Thunderbird or Apple Mail.
If you want to create a fixed record for documentation, legal, or archival purposes, exporting to PDF offers a practical option.
Each export happens within the viewer itself. Select the folders or messages you want, choose the format, and designate an output location. The software handles the conversion, keeps the structure intact, and reports progress in real time.
How Portable Are Mail Backup X Archives?
Q: What format does the tool use for Outlook Mac backups?
On macOS, each backup profile creates a compressed archive saved as an .mbs package. This archive contains your backed-up Outlook Mac data and can include all folder structures, metadata, and attachments. Unlike standard exports from Outlook, this format is recognized by the tool on any supported machine. That means you can copy it to another system, open it using the app there, and continue working with it just as before.
Q: How can you access the contents of an archive on a new computer?
You launch Mail Backup X on the new system, click “Open Archive,” and select the .mbs file. The app then reindexes the archive, rebuilding the folder view and search-index, so everything appears as it did on the original machine. There is no need to restore anything to Outlook or import it into another mail client. The archive opens as a viewable and searchable profile within the app. Note, seeing the contents of backed up package can also be done through the free version of the tool.
Q: What makes this system more flexible than native Outlook export options?
Outlook’s own export tools produce files like .olm, which are not readable outside the client itself. Mail Backup X archives are readable without Outlook, searchable through the built-in viewer, and transferable between Mac and Windows. If you use different devices at home and at work, or if your machine changes, you won’t lose access to your mail.
Q: Can the tool export Outlook Mac backed up data to standard formats for use elsewhere?
Yes. You can export individual messages or entire folders or the entire profiles into formats like PST, EML, MBOX, and PDF. This means you can migrate your email data into a different client or share selected parts without sending the whole backup. The export function doesn’t require you to unzip or decode the archive manually. Everything happens from within the interface, with folder selection, target format, and destination handled in a few steps.
The Value of Data That Travels Well
There’s freedom in knowing your data is not locked to one interface, one operating system, or one machine. For people who work across platforms, this means fewer technical blocks and smoother handoffs. If you’re handing over a project to someone else, switching devices, or simply archiving years of communication, you want that archive to open and function wherever needed.
Mail Backup X does not build walled gardens. It gives you a way to create Outlook Mac backups that are light to carry and easy to read. From compressed .mbs files to cloud mirrors, from USB snapshots to export tools, everything is shaped with mobility in mind.
A free trial version is available for you to explore these features and see how portable your Outlook Mac email backups can become. The process starts simply but opens into a much larger system of access and control. Once you see your archive appear, complete, structured, and untied from your machine, you begin to understand what portability really looks like.
You don’t start over each time the device changes, or the setup evolves. With Mail Backup X, the Outlook Mac backup remains intact, readable, and ready, wherever your work moves next. What stays with you, in the end, is access without interruption.

-`♡´- how to have the mindset of cher horowitz ✧˖

cher horowitz isn’t just a character, she’s a lifestyle. effortlessly charming, stylishly intelligent, and always in control of her world. she moves through life with confidence, kindness (unless you cross her), and a touch of calculated oblivion. the secret? her mindset.
if you want to embody that breezy, effortlessly put-together energy, it’s not just about looking the part. it’s about thinking like cher. because let’s be real, a true it-girl never second-guesses herself.
cher has been an icon ever since clueless came, she has always had an optimistic outlook of life. she a rich girl but she's generous, and kind, and she knows when and how to stand up for herself. in my personal journey, i have been working on different traits i want to adapt and cher horowitz has so many that i added to my list. this post is how you embody the mindset of cher, and how you can adapt it to your personality and mentality <33 - mindy ✦
Tumblr media
💡 how to adapt cher horowitz energy into your mindset 𐙚˙⋆ :
❥ be delusionally confident. cher never asks if she’s the best, she just knows she is. move through life like you deserve the best, because you do. repeat after me: i am the moment.
❥ use intelligence to your advantage. sure, she says “i totally paused” while failing her driving test, but cher is smart. she knows how to use her charm, persuasion, and quick thinking to get what she wants (case in point: her debate speech on why people should “totally stockpile” their extra outfits). so, never play dumb. strategically play smart.
❥ never let them see you sweat. cher faces challenges with an effortless, slightly confused grace. failed test? she negotiates extra credit. unexpected problem? she improvises. the key? never panic. act like you always have a backup plan, even if you don’t.
❥ romanticize your daily routine. cher wakes up to a computer-generated outfit planner, applies lip gloss while serving life advice, and makes even gym class look like a fashion show. take notes. elevate your morning routine. sip matcha from a pretty cup. study in an aesthetic setting. make every little habit feel high-end.
❥ charm is your superpower. being persuasive isn’t about manipulation. it’s about knowing how to talk to people. smile, compliment, and read the room. if cher can talk her way into better grades and out of parking tickets, you can talk your way into anything.
❥ know your worth & don’t settle. cher refuses to entertain anything below her standards. even if it’s fashion, friendships, or love interests. adopt this mindset. stop chasing people who don’t put in effort. stop accepting things that aren’t exactly what you want. you are the prize.
❥ have a signature aesthetic. cher’s vibe? preppy coquette meets california princess. your vibe? whatever makes you feel like her. curate your wardrobe, your playlist, your notes app, your everything. consistency is what makes an aesthetic powerful.
❥ turn every moment into a main character scene. cher doesn’t walk, she glides through life with effortless confidence. she twirls her pen in class, makes a simple “ugh, as if” iconic, and somehow always has a perfect comeback. embody this energy. make your life feel cinematic.
Tumblr media
𐙚˙⋆ mindy’s personal tips to channel cher energy 💋
✦ create a go-to power outfit. cher has iconic looks on standby, so should you. plan an outfit that instantly makes you feel confident & put together. bonus points if it’s preppy chic.
✦ practice the “cher voice.” slow down your speech, add a touch of playfulness, and speak with certainty. even if you’re saying something ridiculous, say it like it’s groundbreaking.
✦ walk with an effortless, floaty confidence. stand tall, relax your shoulders, and glide, not rush. confidence is in the pace.
✦ set high standards--then raise them. cher never settles, and neither should you. it doesn't matter if it’s skincare, study goals, or the people in your life, only accept the best.
✦ always have a backup plan. one of cher’s best qualities? adaptability. even if it’s an outfit disaster or a last-minute change of plans, never be caught off guard. keep a “just in case” solution for everything.
cher horowitz isn’t just a character. she’s an energy. she’s confident, effortlessly charming, and always in control of her world. if you start thinking like cher, you’ll start living like cher. and trust me, that’s a lifestyle worth having.

Sunday’s worldview sucks, his outlook and perception of himself and others sucks… and that’s why he’s so interesting
In honor of his drip marketing releasing tonight (or maybe yesterday for you depending on when I get this out), I’d like to talk about why I think Sunday’s beliefs and perspective is very, very flawed and how his own biases rather than the actions of those who oppose him are what led to his downfall.
Sunday is entirely responsible for his own failure, and that’s exactly why he’s incredible.
This contains mentions of leaks and spoilers for the Penacony quest line… you have been warned
To start with, oh my lord do Sunday’s preconceived notions kick him in the ass.
I think the best example of this is his conversation with Dr. Ratio in which Ratio pretends to betray Aventurine, selling out his plan to Sunday. Now, what’s incredibly interesting about this exchange is that Ratio doesn’t fully lie to Sunday once in this exchange, rather he says half truths and makes vague statements which Sunday himself interprets as being in support of him.
Take what Ratio said the whole, “A scholar knows their position and wouldn’t forsake it for the sake of petty pride.” In retrospect, we know this line is actually referring to Aventurine- aka Ratio is saying he’s not just going to sell him out to Sunday for the sake of information about the Stellaron (which he would get anyways if the IPC attained Penacony, plus Mr. Incredibly Dedicated Knowledge Spreader probably has other means of gaining it then through The Family).
However, since Ratio answered the invitation Sunday gave him, Sunday assumes that Ratio is on his side, believes his cause is righteous, and that he won Ratio over with offering him information about the Stellaron, therefore making that previous statement of Ratio’s null, because Sunday interpreted it as, “convince me this is worth my time + prove to me you’re correct,” when it really meant, “there is no way in hell I’m about to sacrifice my friend to you, and there is nothing you could offer me to make me do so you crazed lunatic.”
But why did Sunday not weigh the options? Why did he unquestioningly believe his perception of the situation was the correct one?
Well- partly it’s because Ratio and Aventurine were doing their damndest to make it seem like they hate each other and that their plan was going off the rails.
But the more important part is that even without Ratio saying a word or even accepting the invitation, Sunday already believes he’d be on his side.
Let me demonstrate this through Sunday's perspective:
I am a righteous person, I am doing the correct things, my worldview is the correct one. Dr. Ratio is also a righteous person who seems to be doing the correct things. Therefore, since we are both on the side of good, and Aventurine is clearly not on that side considering his status as Stoneheart and his negative relationship to Ratio, then Ratio will naturally want to be on my side. After all, the good guys work together, do they not?- and together will vanquish this evil villain.
This perspective is a simple one, but Sunday’s unshaking belief (up until the end of 2.2) that he is 100% in correct and in the right, that any and everyone who he also perceives to be in the right (like Ratio) would believe/side with him without truly needing to be convinced. Sunday doesn’t come out the gate offering the Stellaron information- he only keeps it as a backup just in case.
However, this is complicated because Sunday is also not an idiot, and he’s extremely paranoid, so he’s going to make sure that the way he views the world is 100% correct on the off chance he’s wrong which could foil his plans- which is why he invited Ratio in the first place. Nevertheless, this isn’t him hunting for new perspectives, but rather him desiring to prove himself right again, which is a bad thing because Sunday is very much not right.
A perfect world is a perfect pris- *gets shot*
Reference that approximately 2 ½ people will get beside, Sunday’s ideology that he is fully confident in.. sucks. It sucks ass, it’s terrible, and let me explain.
I’m not going to try going over all the little intricacies to how the dreamscape works because I a) don’t know and b) don’t particularly care because they aren’t relevant to the argument I will be making- which is that Sunday’s ideology is inherently flawed and immediately falls apart under scrutiny.
Essentially, he desires to create the perfect fake reality, enveloping the whole galaxy in Ena’s dream and fulfilling their every desire and whim within it, with himself as the sacrifice to allow it to exist. The seven rest days, no illness, no pain, no challenge, you get the idea.
And, this perfect world paradoxically sucks ass because of its perfectness.
Improving society is great, eliminating hardship is great, increasing quality of life is great.
But declawing reality itself- absolutely not.
I’m going to try to explain this through my favorite strangely specific anecdote- the process of obtaining diamonds in Minecraft.
Stay with me now.
You essentially have two options- go out and mine them yourselves the hard way, which takes hours, gives you less diamonds per the amount of time spent on it, and likely with you exhausting some of your resources like food, torches, and tools which you will need to replenish.
Or.
You can just.. get them from creative mode or commands, and you can get as many as your heart desires.
However, despite the fact that option one is harder, gives you less diamonds and takes significantly more time, I, as well as hopefully you, would pick it every time (at least in a survival world, although honestly idk why you would even need pure diamonds in creative).
And that’s because the first option is rewarding.
You did not earn the diamonds you easily and magically summoned into your inventory, there is no struggle, no journey, no challenge to it, therefore it feels entirely unremarkable, as compared to the feeling you (hopefully) get from mining diamonds, which makes you happy because you earned it. Yeah, it was harder, but the process itself is fun- the anticipation of not knowing when you’re going to find them, if at all, the danger, the fighting and digging and mauvering you will have to do in the process.
And with this unconventional example, the fatal flaw with Sunday’s ideology is revealed- it’s boring.
It’s boring as shit.
Yeah, for the first few months or even years it might be enjoyable- having everything you could ever want served on a silver platter. However, humans are a) inherently a bit greedy and b) desire challenge, and this scenario fulfilles neither of those things. Naturally having everything means your desire for more can never be fulfilled, leaving the wanter forever unsatisfied, whereas in the real world, things are truly out of your reach, meaning that even if you never end up getting them, they are still a tangible thing just out of reach… as strange at it sounds, we like being tantalilus-ed more than you think. After all, if what you want is so easy to get, you will never run out of things to want, and eventually that gets draining.
Continually, if everything is easy, if everything is just right there whenever you want it- existence itself no longer has stakes.
And that’s the problem, because much like how a story with no stakes is extremely hard to find compelling, a life with no stakes feels boring at best and downright pointless and meaningless at worst.
I’m just saying, there is a reason why the Nihility was such a strong presence and problem in Penacony.
Anyways, like with the diamond problem, a lack of stakes means that nothing you do feels rewarding, because you didn’t truly earn it.
Which is where the Sunday’s idea of a “perfect” reality falls apart, because the most enjoyable reality for humans to live in is not one literally devoid of any possible flaw.
So why does he believe in it? When it’s so clearly flawed?
Well, it’s because Sunday doesn’t think a better alternative exists.
The world made you this way.. and you chose to continue what it started.
I’m sure I don’t need to repeat the story of the Charmony Dove all over again because trust me, we’ve all heard it before. Nonetheless, it reveals something important both about Sunday’s personality and his ideology- he’s fundamentally a defeatist.
He doesn’t believe that there is any alternative for the dove, that it could ever be able to fly again with its deformed nature, so instead of being “cruel” and letting it “inevitably fall to its death,” he’d rather keep it in a cage all its life where it has no freedom, but at least it would he alive and “happy”.
And this is where his defeatism reveals itself- Sunday doesn’t believe reality itself can get better because improving it when there are so many factors and things out of your control is hard at best and impossible at worst. Therefore, he resorts to creating an escapist, false version of it- a perfect golden cage, because constructing that is far, far easier than trying to help the dove fly again.
The universe has endless possibilities, if Robin and Sunday had tried hard enough, they probably could have found a solution. Sure, they were both children, so the capabilities necessary to even attempt that were likely far out of their reach. However, it was still possible, but Sunday doesn’t believe in possibilities- he believes he’s right above all else, which is where that stubbornness and arrogance comes into play again.
Sunday doesn’t think better solutions than his exists, and he believes everyone would could possibly stand in his noble way are either villains, or horribly misguided; so it’s his job to show them the light.
This is why he lets the Express Crew + Firefly try to change his mind- Sunday wasn’t actually interesting in shifting his perspective, or really what they wanted to say. Rather, he just wanted to let them say there peace, because well, Sunday’s a good, righteous person (at least from his perspective), and good, righteous people listen to others. Good, righteous people will let these poor, ignorant souls offer their foolish words before exposing them to the harsh truth- or at least that’s how Sunday sees it.
Moreover, this also explains his arrogance. If he believes his worldview is the sole correct one, then why listen to anyone else? He’s this world's savior, or at least he’s been raised to believe that- so why not relish in it? He enjoys punishing Aventurine, enjoys the bastard who stood in the way of Sunday’s plans, shrinks away in “defeat” and get what he “deserves.” Despite how miserable it sounds, Sunday also takes pride in having to be a martyr to bring about his beautiful dream. The belief that he is a selfless, good person is a selfish desire of his, even if a genuine one, and it’s what leads to his downfall.
Sunday could have actually listened. He could have reevaluated his loss to Aventurine and realized it was not through the others clever deception, but through his own biases. He could have actually taken the Express’s and Firefly’s advice. He could have looked for other avenues to help the people he truly does care about.
Despite Gopher Wood’s manipulation- Sunday’s decision to go forward with the pain is entirely his own, because he truly believes- even with all the evidence for the contrary- that he is correct.
And that’s why he fails. Not because of the Express. Not because of Ratio. Not because of Aventurine. Not because of Gopher, or even the rest of The Family.
No, Sunday fails because he is flawed, and he is wrong, and he is the arrogant, selfish and biased one, and his worldview is wrong.
So what now?
This might have seemed like I think Sunday is pure evil and irredeemable, but I think it’s quite the opposite.
He has very good intentions, and he does genuinely care about it the well being of other people around him. He gives Aventurine a chance to prove his innocence, even if he never intended on changing, he does listen to what the Express + Firefly have to say. He pauses when Robin shows up, as she’s the one person (until the very end) he’s actually willing to accept the perspective of. The whole reason he ended up here in the first place is because Gopher Wood twisted Sunday’s good intentions into a fatal arrogance and utmost belief in a flawed worldview.
However, what really sells me on Sunday’s goodness is when eyes widen at that final moment, the light draining from him as he realizes he is wrong.
And once Sunday realizes he is wrong, those flaws that bind him can finally be examined and improved upon, as they all stem from that worldview he no longer believes in.
His whole life, Sunday has been enacting out someone else’s plan for him, even if he’s come to internalize it over time, at the end of the day- it was never his, and without it, he’s empty.
Which is exactly why the only place he can go now is the Express, and the only thing left for him is redemption and growth.
Dan Heng is right- Sunday has a noble soul, and now that he has stopped believing in himself, he’s no longer shackled by the past either. Improvement or utter demise (in a likely nihility-flavored manner) are his only options remaining.
I understand a lot of people want to see him become a Stellaron Hunter, but imo, that just does nothing for him. He’d still be following someone else’s path/script, and Mr. I Will Sacrifice My Whole Existence To Become The Sun To Illuminate These Wandering Souls probably wouldn’t be so on board with the whole.. terrorism part of being a SH. Like yeah, they are our friends (kinda), but they absolutely kill innocent people and cause millions of dollars in property damage to people who don’t deserve it.
Also, being on the Express Just Makes Sense. This is a game about choices, a game about accepting the mistakes of your past, but not letting them define you in order to move on and forge a better future for yourself and others- with the Astral Express + Trailblaze as a concept being the literal embodiment of it. There’s a reason when you switch to the Trailblazer’s POV in stories, it includes Kafka’s most important words to us- “When you have the chance to make a choice, make one you won’t regret.”
Therefore, I hope the choices Sunday will make in 2.7 are ones he’s proud of, and I can’t wait to see how exactly they get him on board with the crew, because there still is a LOT of development he needs to do before then.
Anyways, thank you so much for reading, and if you have any thoughts I’d love to hear them. This was a stream of consciousness mess, but I hope it was still valuable nonetheless! Also if you are reading this on the day it was written, I hope we don’t get disappointed by his drip marketing!

Introducing my daughter, my baby, my little girl, Katelyn Heart. (New kid base courtesy of here!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Despite her not being a self insert, I've given her my first name, and she's a lot like me when I was a kid. Basically she is to me what Stan and Kyle are to Matt and Trey.
As someone who was homeschooled, I think it's a shame that Rebecca didn't stick around, so Katelyn is basically if a shy, sensitive homeschooled girl raised in a Christian home went to South Park Elementary and stayed there. At first she'd totally be a bullying victim. She has unusual clothes, strange hair, a shy personality, and a naive outlook on life, and she cries often and easily. Cartman would have literally no trouble finding reasons to pick on the poor baby.
After the novelty wears off and the bullying dies down, she'd fit in easily with Wendy's group, and be friends with her, Bebe, Red, Heidi, and Nichole. She'd also be friends with Butters, because they both have similar backgrounds and personalities, and they're both the sweetheart, dorky, backup friend type. She'd also end up with a little crush on Kyle, but she'd literally never admit unless he did. She's the write it in a diary type. I think after a certain point Kyle wouldn't let Cartman pick on her and he'd threaten to kick his ass if he did. I think she'd also be chill with Kenny. Kenny seems like the type to be friendly with her.
I've imagined her as having similar character development as Fluttershy from My Little Pony, she goes from being shy and quiet and very easy to push around, to more brave and assertive without losing any of her kindness. I think she'd start off as a wallflower "crybaby" type, to end up as the "nicest kid in school" later. She'd be the type to always have an extra pencil, bring extra snacks to school, and the one that the other kids have settle their arguments.
Also, I think it'd be really funny if everyone else speculated on why her hair was like that, and invented all sorts of reasons why she hides half her face, but then the answer is literally just "That's just the way I like it! 😇"
She'd be on the cheer team, but her main passion in life would definitely be music. She's the type to nearly always be wearing headphones, and she's Taylor Swift's biggest fan. I also see being a professional pianist in her future! She'd also take up knitting in her spare time too, and having the quirky habit of "stress knitting!"
I haven't designed her parents yet, but I totally should because I think they'd be funny characters. They'd be the type of parents that don't let her watch TV and try to keep her home all the time, but in true South Park fashion, they suck and leave her home alone a lot, so she can do whatever she wants. I'd also imagine them to be the type that complains to the mayor a lot to stir up drama.
I've also made a playlist of songs I think she'd listen to a lot.

Alright, it's about time I talk about someone other than Dawn so, here you go
˙⋆✮ Info about my CoD oc, 'Beetle'! ✮⋆˙
⚠️Warning!⚠️ lots of words, heavy mention of death and mental struggle, Konni group. Enjoy more of my mindless ranting
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Art credit for the right image - @/pampanope)
Close ups of the two images in the ref ↓
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In detail info below ↓
——————————————————————————
Name: Vadik Petrov Aliases: Beetle, Pest, Finch
Nationality: Russian Ethnicity: Russian
(help, people said nationality and ethnicity for Russia are the same word in English and my small brain can't wrap around the smaller details so I'm just putting Russian for both 😭)
Age: 29 DoB: 8/29/1994 DoD: 9/7/2023
Pronouns: He/Him Gender: Cis Man Sex: M
Sexuality: Gay (in the closet)
Height: 5'6
Languages: Russian, English, small bits of German
Which CoD universe: Modern Warfare (III)
Branches of Service: Air Force (5 years, 19yo to 24yo)
Affiliation: Konni
Specialities: infiltration, stealth, weapon tech, combat controller (calls in and directs airstrikes)
Personality: Bubbly and energetic around his family but nervous and quiet around others, very hardworking and focuses intensely when the situation calls for it. Generally a pushover and follows orders to the T, overthinks a lot which leads to prevalent anxiety and skittish behavior.
Backstory: grew up in a military household, his father having been a drill sergeant and contractor for the Konni group, who took after his grandfather. His father pushed him into joining the Air Force to get a few years of experience under his belt before he made him leave and join Konni with his brothers at the age of 24.
Had no idea what he was getting himself into, his vision of Makarov and Konni in its entirety having been skewed by his brothers and father singing his praises at any given moment.
Stayed in Konni for a couple years with a very guilty conscience of what he was doing but stayed under family pressure. He eventually got fed up and tried to leave at 26. After finding out, Makarov threatened the life of his family to keep him in Konni, didn't kill him on the spot only to keep his family in Konni as loyal disciples.
He stayed for a few more years to preserve the life of his family and himself before he was accused of being a traitor and sharing information with another team on a mission, after pleading his case and continuing to repeat that he hadn't, his older brother was shot in front of him as a means of convincing him to fess up. His innocence was proven shortly after and he was released, continuing on in Konni after having given up on leaving. He continued in the group with a much more hollow outlook on life until he was shot and left for dead on the field during a mission. Passing away at the age of 29.
Issues: anxiety, overthinking, PTSD, claustrophobia, facial dysmorphia
Habits: fidgets by tapping (tapping fingers or pens on any hard surface, annoying pretty much anyone around him), refuses to take his mask off even around family, only switches from his goggles to sunglasses when he's home. Constantly checking up on his family via calls, texts, visits, etc. to make sure they're still alive and well. Switches between hands often (ambidextrous)
Scars: very few visible, a few small ones scattered over his body that you probably couldn't catch at first glance.
Preferred method of showing care/affection/love language: physical touch, quality time
Preferred way of receiving care/affection: words of affirmation, physical touch, quality time
Eye Color: dark green (army / olive green)
Hair description: Short, curly, dark brown hair. Two distinct pieces sticking up at the top along with an ahoge sticking up at his hair part.
Clothing description: Wears a black earpiece and black ski goggles. Wears a dull green camo outfit with a black tactical vest. Has two wire radio antennas that attach to his goggles so he has backup antennas for his radios (keeps losing them). Wears black combat boots.
Body description: thin with lanky limbs and small amounts of muscle. Very little body hair, moles scattered over his body, and fair skin. A small, visible tooth gap on the left side of his mouth, close to the front.
Career: worked in one of the technology departments in the Air Force for several years, was a Konni operative long-term before his death.
Favorite activities: spending time with his family, specifically his brothers and his Mother
Blood type: A-
Favorite food/dessert: Pelmeni (specifically pork, but he likes the others too), and pickles.
• Born in Labinsk, Krasnodar Krai; Russia
——————————————————————————
He joined Konni alongside his two brothers (one older, one younger) after being pressured into it by his father who was already working for Konni years in advance.
He grew up with a close relationship with his mother, keeping family high up on his list of priorities. Making sure he keeps his mother updated at all times, calling her every once in a while just to check up on her.
——————————————————————————
He's decent with spy and infiltration work, but specializes in tech. Was given brief infantry training at the beginning of his career as requested by his father (who was a drill sergeant)
——————————————————————————
Much like my other CoD oc, he reminds me of a dog with his actions. Though being more like a friendly and obedient one. He follows orders and directions to the letter, doing whatever he's told despite any moral dilemmas those orders cause him in the future.
——————————————————————————
Because of his exposure to horrible people early on and his father's lack of sympathy for the people he slaughtered while working in Konni, He never developed a correct set of morals or sense of right and wrong. He knows that what he's doing in Konni FEELS wrong, but doesn't know why and/or how to fix it since he isn't able to safely leave.
——————————————————————————
Later on in my storyline of sorts, his older brother was shot and killed in front of him during an interrogation (lore reasons I'm too nervous to share publicly). His sense of self preservation and care for those around him crumbled heavily after the loss. Making him develop a more closed off and retreated persona to protect himself.
——————————————————————————
He ran out of people to have loyalty to after the early passing of his younger brother and the execution of his father only a few months after. Because of his life spent devoted to his family and following orders without question, without any specific direction now with the loss of his family, he essentially becomes a loose canon that does as he wants when he wants to. He becomes especially bitter towards Makarov; the murderer of his older brother. And spends years of his life trying to plan a way to kill him.
——————————————————————————
Unfortunately, he never gets to execute his plan. Shot in the head mid mission by an enemy soldier at 29 years old. His body was left of the field to degrade over time, and since he never called his mother after months on end, she eventually found out about his death. Giving him a headstone right alongside his brothers and father in her backyard
——————————————————————————
Favorite color - yellow !!
Favorite activities - sketching, spending time with his family, training and messing around with his gun skills (since he can't use them often with his role in the company)
Favorite animal(s) - Ball pythons (had a piebald python named 'Missy' growing up, has had a love for them ever since), dogs of all sizes, big cats like leopards and cougars
• Doesn't always do well in high stress situations, which doesn't work in his favor since every day is a high stress situation
• had regular breakdowns half way through his career because of the moral dilemma caused by the Konni group's terroristic and gruesome nature.
• had two brothers
Older (30yo, deceased)
Younger (27yo, deceased)
• and a mother and father
Mother (54yo, alive)
Father (58yo, deceased)
——————————————————————————
I do in fact have 2 au's where he lives!
One where he actually does manage to escape after his brothers' passing and is picked up by Graves like a stray cat off of the street
And another where he's saved by the 141 and taken out of the Konni base on that one mission in MW III (mission name 'Highrise')
——————————————————————————
Now, I dunno what else to add to this, so I think that'll be all for now
I might add more in the future if I think of anything else, but for now, thank you for reading

So I have been reading Valfrey’s honour tier list over and thinking for a while about it. I considered doing it with Wolfbell since it is in fact supposed to be for the tourney contestants, but poor kid is both just a kid and also not finished her entire story. I feel as to judge her now when she has not yet come full circle and overcome her challenges would be unfair to her.
So we’re going to submit the bastard that is Flare Okarda. Who’s my current running oc to become the tourney participant in next year’s tournament (if there is one) and he has made it his personal goal to anger Valfrey as much as possible.
Valfrey of course belongs to @gethoce
For a quick summary of Flare’s character:
He is an original species called a pjofur, who through technological means have achieved ‘reincarnation’. A term used to describe a process in which the memories and personality of an individual are computerized and placed into an organic vessel in order to ‘bring someone back to life’, a process of which has long since robbed the species of their souls.
Flare is a rogue member of the pjofur society, formally known as Jokull, on his third reincarnation something happened and he developed a fatal logic error in his programming that caused him to descend into severe aggression and insanity.
Jokull eventually attacked his assigned romantic partner when she tried to check in on him, almost killing her. He stole a copy of the reincarnation equipment blueprint, deleted his all his backups, and fled the planet and became a fugitive, further descending into madness until he became someone else who couldn’t recognize himself as Jokull anymore, and this person named himself Flare after the intense feeling of being mentally burned alive he felt when he first lost control.
-
One must live their life for a purpose such as serving a shogun or protecting one's people.
-
Ah, purpose and servitude. Gross. Disgusting. Boo, even. Flare has a very rocky relationship with purpose and an even rockier time with the concept of serving someone or said purpose, stemming from his time as Jokull before being plagued by the fatal logic error.
Flare would admit his concept of both purpose and serving said purpose to be limited to one very far end of the spectrum, an extremism which has permanently spoiled his outlook on the overall concept making him unwilling to even try to accept there is other, kinder purposes and things to serve. All he can think about was that Jokull was always just intended to be an extension of Jakob. A trophy son and ticket to bragging rights. A cog in the machine only the machine sits in a glass box all shiny and squeak less and flawless.
That was what he had been brought into the world to do, and Jokull stripped himself of any and all individuality for it and denied himself anything that wasn’t serving the society. That was his purpose. His only purpose, for both of his reincarnations. Flare often says that Jokull played their game twice without a single selfish thought or complaint. And what good did it ever do him in the end? When the fatal logic error happened, all his fancy, glorious high end contributions to society did not buy him a single ticket of mercy and he was thrown into the fire.
Flare doesn’t want to be like him. He doesn’t want to ever be more fancy person calculator instead of a being. He’s not Jokull. He’s not the cog in the machine and wants no part of it. The society can rot for all he cares. He is going to live completely selfishly, he’s not going to bend to any one purpose, he’s going to have fun, and everyone else can kick rocks with their teeth.
-
If left without a purpose one must make it their mission to find one.
-
Flare’s commitment to having a purpose is equivalent to that to-do list you said you were going to make, and maybe you did but now it’s sitting somewhere in your workspace collecting dust.
He claims his purpose is to fuck around and find out, like how his prime goal with this is simply be the biggest disgrace to Valfrey’s honour code possible. To be free to do what he wants when he wants, ignoring he’s often at the mercy (of which there is none) of the fatal logic error that forces him to do things regardless if he actually wants to do them or not.
He is a force of destruction and chaos with no linear path or progression. His goals ever changing. For all his insistence that he does in fact have a purpose, he is stuck in place, making no true progress, hardly ever finishing the projects he starts before he loses track and jumps to something else, all while continuing his steady descent into further mental instability.
-
Be the master of one's emotions, yet do not rob yourself of your whimsy for it’d poison your mind.
-
Control is the last thing he has over his emotions. It’s like trying to control a tornado, or more accurately an intense electrical storm. He has severe emotional dysfunction, his thoughts and feelings and unyielding and uncontrollable torrent of lights and pulsing sounds that has no off switch.
He often describes his feelings as ‘you’re in a room and the lights are strobing and the speaker is on full volume and you have your hand in a bath of electrically charged water also the tag on the back of your shirt is itching you’.
Despite this, he often claims to be horribly bored and under stimulated. This leads him to being uncontrollably aggressive, and he will impulsively pursue experiences, no matter how unpleasant or risky they might be. Often this throws him into the path of combat, the aforementioned aggression Flare exhibits often unrivalled. These can manifest into unhinged outbursts known as flares.
Flare’s lack of control over how he feels stems back to the fatal logic error, which continuously misinforms the brain inside the vessel on how to manage chemicals and hormones, leading to disastrous outcomes and highly immoral decisions.
-
Always be honest unless doing so risks the safety of those you swore to protect.
-
Flare will lie without second thought if it will benefit him, Flare is rarely honest unless it’s to give his ‘honest opinion’ on you, and by that he means he’s going to insult the hell out of you. His one and only circumstance to always telling the truth is if you can get him to agree to a set of ‘game rules’ and make him join some game.
He’s not particularly sure why (he blames Jokull, as usual) but if he plays a game while he may not completely obey the rules, he will be completely and openly honest that he did in fact break the rules and a truthful explanation as to why he felt it was necessary to do so.
-
Do not steal unless it is to protect.
-
Flare steals about as easily as he tells lies and makes insults. You can bolt something down and that’s only a temporary solution especially if he decides he really wants that thing.
From stealing the copy of the reincarnation technology, to the player’s handbook he possesses (though he claims that he didn’t steal such he found it and while that’s technically true it wasn’t his to take) to arguably Jokull’s entire life and person, to the lives of several people, Flare has taken a lot. And he has really no intentions of stopping any time soon.
He’ll debate with you if stealing to protect himself from boredom or the brain itch of realllllllllly wanting that item is a valid loophole though!
-
Do not sneak attack when a fair battle is possible.
-
Flare isn’t necessarily one for sneak attacks, even if he has no issue employing them regardless of the ‘fairness’ of the battle. He often marches right up to his enemies, who, confused by his boldness that often falls into the range of being straight up suicidal, are rarely ready for him to launch into the levels of extreme aggression he is capable of, especially when he outwardly exhibits no means of causing notable levels of damage.
It truly depends on what the person has done to trigger his ire, but usually when such is triggered he will simply go straight into mauling whatever angered him, no warning and no declaration of battle. It is less a battle and more a vicious one sided attack resulting in murder.
-
There is no honour in being outnumbered, use usually unfair tactics to even the playing field when the odds are stacked against you.
-
The one and only rule of Valfrey’s that he can get behind. Flare often picks fights in which he’s at the disadvantage, causing him to employ surprisingly creative and effective tactics to gain an upper hand in a fight.
Flare’s primary tactic is to make combative use of his mind reading ability. By using such, he can see where his opponent will try to dodge to, allowing him to immediately turn his attack to that position, or get some kind of warning as to what his opponent(s) might have planned and counterattack. While he is unhinged and spontaneous, operating off the concept of ‘if I don’t know what I’m doing you sure as hell don’t’, he will briefly and with a surprising rate of success preform tactical actions based on what he gathers from his mind reading.
He is not afraid to fight dirty.
-
Respect yourself, keep yourself healthy and well groomed.
-
Respect is a concept Flare has very, very little of, much less respect for himself. Often at the whim of a self directed sadism, he will often cause himself harm or even cause his own death just for kicks and mental stimulation. Sometimes, death comes because he couldn’t be bothered to care for himself, he could tell you in graphic detail what the process of starving to death actually feels like.
He often looks like he has stuck his hand in a toaster, bags under his eyes are common, all too often some bone is fractured or broken and not being tended to, or some stab wound has been patched up in a messy hurry.
He insists there’s little reason to dedicate a lot of time and care to his vessel. It is replaceable and temporary. If he dies, or gets lethally hurt, he can simply make a new one. His attachment to himself, his vessel, even his identity, is held together by a few highly strained threads that might just snap at any second.
-
Stay true to your principles.
-
Hypocrisy is his middle name. Probably. Does his kind have middle names? He hates hypocrites. Maybe that’s one of the reasons he hates himself so much.
-
Do not slaughter your own kin (members of your clan or similar concepts) unless they strike first.
-
Oh look at that, one whole brownie point for him. He almost killed one of his kind, Jokull’s assigned partner, but he didn’t. And he’s not come in direct contact with any other members of his kind since.
But there’s not much stopping him from killing another member of his kind should they meet. They’ll probably just reincarnate anyways.
-
Take vengeance on those who have wronged you or your kin.
-
Oh he will. And he is. Not his kin, he doesn’t have any. But for himself absolutely. Kind of… Not really- he never has ever taken any kind of revenge on Jakob, or whoever it was who gave him the fatal logic error.
-
Be polite and respectful to those who deserve it.
-
For as smart as Flare is you could probably win a bet with him by telling him you’ll give him something if he can define two words of your choice, and if he needs to give you something.
And he’ll agree because he thinks you’re gonna pull out a word like pseudonym or tacenda, only you tell him to define politeness and respect and he just gives you a death glare instead.
-
If one serves something like a clan or leader that disrespects them or otherwise goes against their principles the clan does no longer deserve to be named kin.
-
….well, the queen can’t go against her principles of treating the society like a hive when she’s the one who set it up like that. And then Nightmare had no principles to begin with so can you REALLY break rules if they don’t even exist? But Flare would argue they’re both bitches so, maybe, that counts.
-
Do not disrespect Valfrey.
Tumblr media
Uhhh- Flare I don’t think that’s a good idea-

Missing In Action 13
Chapter 13: Regret
It’s time for RED team to reflect on what they know now, and to find out if Spy is okay.
TW: Some gore, heavy angst. Forgot to call the last chapter a doozy, but this one is too.
Medic remembered the day that Spy outran the BLU team’s Scout. Everyone had been celebrating Spy’s abnormally impressive contribution to the team. It wasn’t everyday that one killed so many BLU’s, got the intelligence, and got out; he didn’t even need assistance until he got into the main battle outside and the BLU Scout shot his leg.
But he hadn’t stayed to celebrate with everyone, instead going to the smoking room. Heavy had gone to check on him, and mentioned to Ludvig that Spy had part of a piece of paper sticking out of his lapel. It smelled like he burned photographs in the fireplace when Medic walked past the next day. They didn’t know exactly what happened at BLU base, but someone took a picture that Spy didn’t like. Heavy said he looked panicked and disgusted.
Heavy had noticed that Spy froze up when Ludvig showed them the BLU Spy’s head, and put two and two together. It was actually Mikhail that convinced the team to let Ludvig keep the Spy’s severed head until he got bored. It wouldn’t be more than 2, 3 weeks. Even Medic wasn’t stupid enough to butcher or torture an enemy teammate under Helen’s watchful eye.
So it was surprising that Spy led the charge in getting BLU Spy’s head killed so he could be free. Ludvig knew the team was scared of his experiments, and that they didn’t like him keeping the head. But he’d expected to be able to keep it at least a week before they came up with some yarn to get him to release his captive. It took 4 days.
Spy basically tried to shake keys in his face by giving him an animal to experiment on instead. But it was one of his pets; a very old crab that was not edible. Spy didn’t look as though he really wanted to give it up, so it must have been deeply important for him to free the enemy.
Medic had assumed that it was fear of more information getting stolen, despite BLU Spy always being stuck in the fridge and unable to hear well. He knew better now.
He wouldn’t be surprised if Spy was plagued by nightmares about his enemy suffering a terrible respawn failure. Being too cold, or not connecting back to his body, or just not being able to control his body because of a botched reconnection.
It seemed that BLU team might be thinking about how lucky their Spy was to be alive and healthy; he sure looked haunted. Ludvig decided they would just feel guilty if he told them all the details about how their teammate was freed. So he wouldn’t.
He was glad someone stopped him from keeping the head, in any case. Sometimes he needed to be stopped.
—————————-
All of RED team froze with bated breath as BLU Medic came out. Except Scout, but that made the most sense. Engineer could feel the anxiety radiating off of him. “Did he make it? Is he okay?” The Medic blinked at him in surprise.
“Yes. He’ll be asleep while his body heals for the next couple of days, but he’s alive with a good outlook.” He looked around at the relieved RED team’s faces. “I can never remember right… did this tape include your Spy’d respawn failure too?” They shook their heads.
”Oh dear, I’m terribly sorry! If I had known it was the fatal respawns only, I would have shown you the backup footage first!” He rummaged around for another tape “Malum extra reel”. Putting it in the TV, the BLU Medic fast forwarded to the Sniper respawn failure.
Spy had apparently respawned around the same time as the Sniper, because both the Medic and other teammates were asking him if he was okay. He kept shaking his head no. They were watching a camera on the BLU Medic’s glasses. He suddenly hesitated and looked at Spy.
“You have not said anything for a while. Is your mouth okay?” Spy made a shooing motion and pointed at Sniper. “He’s stable for now, we have the medigun rays on him. Can you open your mouth please?” Spy saw that it was useless to refuse, so he sheepishly opened his mouth.
Blood and teeth poured out like a running facet and gradually weakened to a dribble. Based on the footage, it looked like he lost his full set of adult teeth. “Oh Spy, sweetheart! Are you okay?!” “Et dowsen mattaw! Sniwpew’s dyinm..” He snapped at the doctor, who realized that he might as well go back to working on the more damaged teammate.
Fast forwarding a bit, there was a before and after showing that Spy was able to get fake teeth put in without it going wrong. They weren’t made to look exactly like the originals though, so he lacked the buck teeth that Scout must have inherited.
There was also footage from the BLU MedBay of Medic waking him up after giving him the fakes. “Sniper’s dead?” He asked. The Medic lowered his head sadly. “I’m sorry. It was like Mr Soldier’s case, the hearts and spine should have been usable… but..”
“Why do they make you do ze surgeries all alone? That was awful, they should have had someone to focus on ze spine and someone to focus on ze hearts. I mean, did they make you fix me, on top of Sniper? When he hadn’t been dead long?”
“I do not know. Ms Administrator only gave me clearance. I do sometimes wish for the help. It feels like there must be someone better suited for saving these patients.” There was a pause. “You fixed my teeth. I do not know how.. impressive that feels, but you are not a teeth doctor.”
“That’s true. I do not think it’s enough to try organ donors if there’s other respawn failures to come, but I think that might help. I couldn’t get your real teeth to stay, but these artificial ones worked. It may be that something leeches into the patient’s body during a respawn failure. If that is the case…”
The BLU Medic removed the tape. “I didn’t recognize your team’s Spy as the same person.” He looked pretty sorrowful. “But he grew up, and he looked so different…. I guess I look different too.” Engineer knew what was coming. They were gonna have to tell BLU team why their Spy was 25 years younger. And that meant Scout had to know too.
——————————
Everyone had been afraid to tell Jeremy that younger Spy was his missing old man, except Soldier and Pyro because they didn’t know. They looked like they were bracing for him to bite their heads off for it. That was so crazy to him. Yeah, he’d been mad at Spy in the plane but… did they really think he’d get mad like that at anybody?
“You guys know I’m not gonna freak the hell out on ya… You know that right?” He hoped they did. “Scout.” Heavy started. “It is not that ve thought you would be as angry as vhen we took the ride to base. But you ve’re just hurt deeply by vhat Spy hid from you, and ve knew that it would hurt more even from coworkers.”
“We.. we weren’t familiar with younger Spy. He had never told us why he left yer mother, so…” Engineer paused. “Fer all we knew, you’d confront him about it and he’d say somethin terrible.”
“We might not have know yer pa that well,” Sniper added, “But we knew he regretted leaving by the time we met him. The thing was, if you heard him as a young snot saying you or yer mum weren’t worth his time, or something to that effect…. An apology from his older self would feel hollow.”
“We could all tell that Spy wanted to reconcile before he disappeared… And… And we wanted to bring him back without you being worried he’d never be put right. We didn’t want you and younger Spy to be at odds either..” It was so weird hearing Medic sound sorry for something.
“So he… he really didn’t tell anybody about Malum. Do ya think he was still afraid of Admin? Is that why he always called her ‘the voice’?” Scout asked. He hoped Spy didn’t live in fear of her for 25 whole years.
“I think… that the Malum/Admin tragedy made him less open to new people. We don’t know who his Frigidus teammates were or if they helped him with his grief. But he has never been as open with us as he seemed to be with his original team.”
“Less open than that since…” Heavy glanced at Scout and stopped. “Ve have made grave errors before vith Spy. Heavy in particular… pulled a bad camera prank. That is vhy Spy keeps his rooms so hidden, even from us.”
“Well um…” It was hard for Jeremy to speak, his voice felt tight. They were standing around Spy’s hospital bed in BLU Base. He was asleep, but it didn’t look that peaceful. Had to have the big bandage over his chest visible too, and all those wires and tubes… “Would you guys be okay with me staying with him all night? I know more than one of us is supposed to be allowed but..”
”It’s okay, Scout. He’s your dad.” Sniper said. “It’d be hard for us not to argue about who gets the other chair anyway. We might pop in to check on y’all later, but mosta the time we’ll be in the BLU rec room.” Engie sounded like he was trying to cheer him up. It didn’t really work, but that was okay.
It was gonna be a long night.
———————-
Spy looked like an angel who got his wings stolen and then fell. He was paler than Scout thought possible for someone with such reddish skin. His hair was long enough that Jeremy kept having to brush it out of his eyes. He didn’t have to… but it felt right.
He knew Spy would live.. But the others said the curse could only be lifted if they showed Spy his life in order. Ma might know where to send them, but he couldn’t promise it. They were gonna have to tell Spy that Admin had died and who Pauling was. They were gonna have to try to convince him to take them to his house and see what he had to jog his memory. And that was assuming he hadn’t moved house since then.
What if Spy never got his memory back? Would it be worse for him to know he and Jeremy had been fighting? That he was angry with him, but not be able to remember why? How would he feel about having a grown son whose life he missed? There was a tight lump in the back of Scout’s throat. He could see why the others didn’t want him knowing before.
—————————
Somehow, Jeremy fell asleep in his chair. He wasn’t sure why. He found himself in one of the smoking rooms with younger Spy. He was dressed different. Still maskless, but wearing his older self’s black suit and scarf from Halloween. They didn’t usually spend Halloween at Bread base.
Spy turned to face him and was holding a familiar metal bucket.
“Scout, can I ask you to do something for me?” Oh no. The bread thing. He’d forgotten all about it! Jeremy tried to say no but his body was moving on autopilot. He was gonna do it again, whether he wanted to or not. “I’d like you to ask everyone for their dying wishes. Some of them might not want to come, like Engineer, but… have everyone else come to the poker table.”
Suddenly they were all there, except Medic and Engineer off fixing the death issue. Scout knew what he was about to do. He knew the prank was gonna be awful, especially since it was younger Spy. But no matter how hard he tried to kick and scream, and reach over to throw the bucket away, he couldn’t move from the chair or undo the smug look on his face.
“This is a bucket. It contains everyone’s dying wish.. everyone at this table anyway. Please set your watches together. We only have 70 hours left to live. But we’re mercenaries, and we’re a team. If anyone has a chance to fulfill all 7 wishes, it’s us. Let’s begin.”
This was his last wish, wasn’t it? To be with his Fortress teammates before they died and he went to reconnect with Malum. Maybe he wanted to be buried with Malum so his ghost could find them. But if he didn’t see the team at Fortress again, and if Scout was buried somewhere far away by Ma…
“First is desert Scout.” Spy looked at him, nodded and grinned like he was toasting at a party. The worst part was that older Spy did the same thing. This time he didn’t even ask if Jeremy really got the wishes. Younger Spy trusted him enough not to.
“He’s..” The smile faded as Spy stared at the card. He looked up at Scout, like a puppy that just got shot with a BB gun and hasn’t figured out it’s a betrayal by the owner. Jeremy wanted to scream, wanted to say “I’M SORRY!”, but he couldn’t. He could only watch.
“Drawn a picture of me getting hit my a car.” Nobody said anything. Scout couldn’t turn to look at them, but he hoped they were staring at him in disapproval. “There’s.. lines coming off me?” Of course he didn’t know what it was, he wasn’t a comic reader or American. Maybe older Spy was the same, he just didn’t know what the stink lines were.
“Yeah, those are stink lines! That’s why the car hit ‘em, cause he smells!” This time at least, Jeremy could look where he wanted to, which was at Spy. He looked disappointed and embarrassed. “I…” Spy sighed in frustration and picked up the next card. “Ze next card is-“ This time he didn’t say what Scout had drawn. But he remembered. It was disgusting.
Spy’s eyes slowly rose from the card to Scout, looking cold, disgusted, and disappointed with him. He stared through him like that for what felt like a full minute. Spy flipped through the cards without saying anything. Then he slammed his hand down, hesitating with his eyes on the cards pinned under his fingers.
“Did he even ask you guys for your last wishes?” Nobody said anything, apart from Scout’s laughter that he hated. Spy started looking from person to person, waiting for an answer. Scout looked back at them and they weren’t helping Spy at all. They still wouldn’t even say anything to him.
Jeremy had forgotten that nobody answered Spy. He knew he was the worst, obviously but… Why hadn’t anyone called him out? Why didn’t they say “No, sorry.” Or anything like that when Spy asked them? He hadn’t paid any attention to that the first time. He knew Engie wasn’t there, but Heavy was. And it wasn’t like Demoman and Sniper always agreed with him either. He could understand Pyro and Soldier staying silent, but not the others.
Turning back to look at Spy, Jeremy saw that he was surrounded by the ghosts of team Malum, all of them mangled. A Medic whose head was twisted backwards, a Soldier who was still on fire, a Heavy who had an injury like Spy’s, a Sniper who was bent in an odd way because of his spine.. A Pyro and Engineer who were conjoined at the head, a Scout cut in half, and a Demowoman who was barely held together chunks.
They never got the chance to get together and do everyone’s last wish. The ones who wanted to retire never got to. The Soldier didn’t get to meet Spy’s family. All Spy wanted was to make sure that didn’t happen again with Fortress.
But… the team’s silence showed that they weren’t really interested. And there was something worse about going and sitting down for the speech, for the song and dance and just staring. Showing that you feel indifferent to a guy’s face by giving them hope that you care first. They should have just sent Scout to say they weren’t interested.
“Then this has been a waste of my time.” Spy didn’t bother to grab the cards as his hand slid off the table. He looked offended, hurt, and angry. “Forget it. Just forget it.” He almost started to cry but opted to leave instead. But as he left, a gash formed in his chest and blood dribbled from his mouth.
——————————-
RED Team could hear Scout weeping again. But this time they were at BLU Base, so whether he would get embarrassed or not, they needed to go check up on him. It seemed the BLU teammates also debated whether or not to go in and check, because there were many of them standing at the doors to the MedBay, pacing and looking worried.
When they went in, he was slumped over Spy’s sleeping chest, arms out and trying not to bump the important wires. The fact that they could hear the weeping when he was face down was a testament to how loud it was.
Engineer made his way over first, laying a hand on his chest as it shuddered with sobs. “Scout? Is everything okay?” “No! Nothing is-“ He was having trouble speaking, understandably.
“Well, what’s worrying you the most, lad? Might help to tell us.” Jeremy shrank closer to Spy. “Me.” They didn’t know what to say to that. It wasn’t enough information to reassure him. “Yourself? Is it because we didn’t tell you-“
“The bread thing.” Several eyes widened. They knew exactly what he did to Spy with the last wishes. Heavy knew he’d eventually remember, but he’d been hoping it would be a day or two. Hoping he’d have time to process some of the rest. He should have thought before nearly bringing it up.
“A lot of us were bad about the bread thing.” Sniper said. “But you remember how you apologized, and Spy helped you with your date?” Scout looked up at him, confused. “For what it’s worth, I don’t think Spy would have helped if he hadn’t forgiven you.” Demoman gave him a look.
“I guess, but… I was awful about the hanging n the.. n the Tom Jones thing…” Heavy came over and moved Scout back into a chair. It would help to get him sitting upright, get the oxygen flowing. “Well, the good new is that Spy will wake up in a few days, and y’all can start to talk about it. It’s gonna take time to get his memories back, but that doesn’t mean we won’t try.”
“Don’t be discouraged. It is not over yet.” Heavy said.
They stayed together in the Rec Room after that. Scout was worryingly upset with himself, and they hoped that talking with Spy once he was fixed would help.

if tyt nico never became a singer like he just wasn’t ALL that interested in making music somehow what job do you think he’d have?
my bets on some kind of teacher. art or history.
mm well i have to say that nico's character in tyt is fundamentally rooted in his love for music. he didn't really have many aspirations before figuring out that he wanted to write songs and actually sing, and had a pretty grim outlook on what his life was going to look like, especially before apollo took him in. i hate to say it but he really disliked school, and was never interested in art or history aside from the inspiration they could give him for songs- plus, he was very much against the idea of going to college, and would definitely not there long enough to work in education.
all in all, i don't think there is a tyt nico that isn't interested in him being a singer, because that's just who he is in this universe. it'd a different au, a different version of nico, who wasn't interested in music but decided to pursue something else. really, i guess his backup scenario in tyt (if he didn't become a singer) would've been to work a job that doesn't require a college degree, and then maybe one day he'd realize he liked working on production with apollo, and he'd maybe be a producer for apollo's label (assuming he still created it, which i think he would, once his kids all graduated and moved out). so still in music, because tyt nico is a musician.

Hello fellow DATVD enthusiast! I would like to ask some curious questions if you don’t mind! First of all, what is your mbti? Second, what do you find most interesting about both Paul and Julian (as individuals & together)? Third, what type of movies would you like to direct in the future? Thanks! :D
Hi!! I haven't taken the mbti test in a really long time, but last I remember, I grew from an infp to an enfp. I'm not sure what I am now but I don't know if I've change that much in the last few years personality wise.
Your second question is a bit difficult to answer, so this might be a bit lengthy. I'm just going to live feed my thoughts. Together, I think the most interesting thing about Paul and Julian is how their relationship operates. Paul is obviously a disturbed person, but it doesn't scare Julian. I would say that he's drawn to it. They never had to really sit down and have a conversation in order to understand eachother, I feel like they do so naturally.
Julian, on his own, the most interesting thing about him to me is how well he masks. After the murder, you see him mask less and less effectively, but it's mainly Paul who notices the little things, as you would expect him to, but he still doesn't fully see the effect that killing someone and hiding it has on Julian. That can be credited to the fact that Paul struggles to see anything beyond his self-loathing and his desire to become someone else, but I think a good part of it also has to do with how good Julian is at putting up a performance. The scene where Julian says, "I can't be him right now," really got me when I first read it. Masking that well all the time comes with exhaustion, and sometimes I wonder how he dealt with it when he was alone, when Paul couldn't see. This isn't really a profound realization, but sometimes I also think about the fact that it's not really a story about Paul and Julian but about Paul and how he sees Julian. Maybe that's not Julian-specific specific but it is something I find interesting.
Paul, my love and my light, I find every aspect of his character interesting. Though I love them both a lot, he's my favorite of the two; I've spent the better part of the last few months thinking mostly about Paul, drawing Paul, writing Paul (I need to finish that fic...), but the thing I find the most interesting about him is the capacity he had for murder. Starting the book, you would never imagine that this awkward guy is a murderer or would ever be capable of planning a murder to the point he has like three fully fleshed out backup plans. I also find the way he views the world interesting, and I think it goes hand in hand with the fact that he was able to plan it and do it. I think I love him as much as I do because we see the world the same way, but I think he has a more pessimistic outlook than I do. I talk a lot about Paul on this blog, so I'll just leave it at that!
And your third question!! In the future, my biggest goal is to direct films that are based on the stories and characters that I've been building since I was twelve. Genre-wise, I'd say fantasy, horror (psychological, jumpscare, etc!), maybe a little bit of action. I want to make films that move people emotionally and leave them with a lot to think about. I feel like people say that, but they never really mean it. Outside of my own stories, I'd like to work in horror production. I've always loved horror movies and writing things that are meant to make people uncomfortable. This wasn't part of your question, but while on the topic of horror and film, my favorite horror franchises are Chucky/Child's Play and Terrifier. One of my dreams is to meet Damien Leone and have a nice chat with him because he started from basically nothing. He had an SFX kit and a dream. There's a lot to learn from someone like that, and I really would like to. Another dream of mine is to be part of a film production of TVD. Over the summer, I want to put my ideas down on paper so I can take the time during my college career to flesh them out while finding stability in my life. If I'm lucky, by some miracle, maybe I can send Micah a copy of a loose manuscript, get together some great people, and make something out of it. Not sure how it works yet, but I think it'd be great.
I hope these are decent answers! I really enjoyed answering all of these. Thank you! :)
