imagine barry growing up as a (oh-so-obviously) neurodivergent kid who's a massive nerd, and the kinds of bullying and teasing he got not only from jerks at school but his own friends, iris included
imagine how his interests, from science to the supernatural, or dismissed or ignored unless they somehow benefit the people around him, today
imagine him spending his entire adolescence and young adulthood apologizing for everything. for being late, for not being neurotypical enough, for not begin "properly professional" (which is the same issue as the previous one but no one likes to talk about it), for being too fast, too needy, to nerdy, too passionate, too driven. for caring too much
imagine henry allen seeing how his son is developing from the other side of the glass. imagine the grief he feels for the parts of himself his son is starting to lose due to the judgement of others
imagine henry, being out of prison, and seeing barry and leonard snart interacting for the first time. joe and iris are extremely disapproving of their relationship. but henry is not. and barry can Tell that he isn't. that he supports this. he just doesn't know why
the reason why is simple: the entire time leonard snart was in the room, barry didn't feel the need to apologize to anyone for existing the way he is
#coldflash#barry allen#the flash tv#leonard snart#fanfic prompt#henry allen#light angst#the idea that barry feels more confident in his convictions whenever he's around snart bc he doesn't feel judged or small#snart like: i don't understand why barry trusted me well before i'd put in the work to change#barry (who'd seen this man witness his queer&AuDHD ass and not once think he was less than or worth judging): it's just who you are#this is... important to me

Characters of the day:

The Booster-Beetle family (aka the people associated with Blue Beetle and Booster Gold).
If the names are bolded and italicised then the person is also kind of apart of the family as well!
We included Rani Carter in a different post, be sure to check that out!!
Booster Gold - Micheal John Carter the (bestBoi)

Information about him :
He is from the 25th Century, which is the same as the Reverse Flash. He lived in Gotham city at that time with his mother and twin sister.
His father, Jon Carter had a gambling problem which caused him to leave his family before his kids turned 4. Later on he joined the time stealers and became the villain, Supernova.
Worked alongside Dirk Davis and Trixie Collins during his Goldstar INC days.
Was/Is in the JLI (through Maxwell Lords help) and the JLA. Also joined the Conglomerate which was run by Max Lords ex wife.
In the JLI, Booster met his best friend, Ted Kord aka Blue Beetle, and they became the infamous "Blue and Gold" duo.
A glory seeker and when he was younger, he sought after money from his role as a superhero, often doing sponsorships and cereal ads.
He stole his suit from the Museum he worked at, his flight ring was from the legion of superheroes.
The time sphere he stole from the museum to go back in time was made by Rip Hunter.
He has an indestructible forcefield around himself which managed to survive a punch against Doomsday. He also managed to throw some punches against Doomsday, before Superman stepped in.
He faked his own death, along with the help of Rip Hunter and reappeared as Supernova.
Once went evil and became black beetle.
He tried to save Teds life many times by going back in time. In the injustice universe, he was sent to a time prison for the amount of times he tried to save his life. He was always quite unsuccessful.
He loved superman when he was younger, and was inspired by him to become a superhero, however when he started to work in Metropolis Superman was often annoyed by his mannerisms.
Despite how he acts Booster Gold wishes to do more with the abilities he has (Genuinely a person with a heart) but due to his role and status he has to degrade himself for the sake of the universe.
He speaks/thinks in Esperanto - told by Ted Kord.
Married and divorced a woman named Gladys.
When he heard the news that Ted had died, he became overwhelmed by grief and shot an energy blast at Batman, who was luckily saved by Superman.
When he was drunk he managed to run over Barry Allen and Wally West in the timesphere.
He doesn't know that he is the father of Rip Hunter.
He managed to gain Batman's respect.
He tried to save Barbara Gordon from getting paralysed by Joker.
Ted redesigns and fixes his suit.
Has a 21st Century ancestor named Daniel Carter who Rip passed the Supernova mantle onto.
Head canons:
He acts like an NPC during his TikTok live streams “thank you for the flowers" while backflipping.
He has merchandise that he always plugs and adds to his video descriptions.
He acts like a male wife for Ted.
He uses a lot of anime references when talking to the JLI “Believe it”.
He ALWAYS gets called out for looking like Reigen Arataka or Johnny Bravo.
He visits Ted Kords grave stone almost every time.
Skeets :

He is basically a robot Alfred.
He was a robot from the future that was stolen from a museum by Booster Gold.
His main powers include Time travel, hacking, flight, healing, live streaming, energy projection etc.
He is very loyal to his companion Booter Gold.
He was a security Robot in metropolis.
During the JLI days, he was kept in a closet.
Once interested in the robot that Ted made.

Information about him:
Guardian of the time stream and a well known Time traveller. Also the leader of the Time Masters. Main job is to protect the continuity of the timestream.
His favourite colour is green.

The son of Booster Gold, though current Booster is unaware of this.
Rani’s nickname for him is Boppy.
He gives Booster missions to carry out.
He aided Animal man in his own time travelling adventures.
He is very serious, you wouldn’t tell that him and Booster are related.
Invented many different time travelling technologies.
Some Head canons :
He watches Dance mums a lot so when he shouts at Booster or anyone else he makes sure to quote a lot he hears.
He once got put into time out from Booster.
No one told him that wearing skinny jeans is not in the new trends.
He dyes his hair to not keep to the allegations.
He loves his chalk board more than himself.
Michelle Carter - Goldstar

Information about her:
The younger twin sister of Micheal Carter.
Followed Michael along when he went to the past with her own suit and technology which is nearly identical to Boosters.
Calls Booster "Mikey".
Rani adores her.
She was supposed to have died when she first came to the past, but Rip Hunter managed to stop that from happening. She spent some time unaware of the deeper implications of her return until it is forcefully revealed to her by Rex Hunter. This left her traumatised and obsessing over her death which caused her to escape into the timestream. Booster managed to coerce her into coming back to the present.
Some head canons :
She loves Sabrina Carpenter.
Rani and her to get ready for the day videos.
She basically lives in her outfit .
She is the carbon copy of Booster /female Booster.
Despite her and Booster being alike she is more bearable.

Left his mantle and his scarab to Ted.
Headcanons:
Acted as a father figure to Ted.
Tried to make Ted babysit Sparky when he had to go on long missions with the Mystery men.
Would be a fan of Night in the museum.
Would get along with Alan Scott if they properly met.
Sparkington J Northrup - Sparky / Spunk

Information about him:
The sidekick of Dan.
He is British, and was adopted by Lord Wellington Northrup who fled to America during WW2.
Fox Comics created him to save their company and (copy other successful sidekick characters like Robin and Bucky Barns) to appeal to a younger demographic.

Appeared again in the recent comic, Stargirl: The lost children, where he was stuck on an island with other forgotten sidekicks of popular heroes and was rescued by Red Arrow and Stargirl.
Headcanons:
A big fanboy of Robin and the Teen titans, but definitely Robin in particular.
Tried to come up with his own catchphrase, similar to that of the "holy ___, Batman!". Dan did not find this amusing in the slightest.
Carries around a joke book to read to Ted or Dan. Made occasional bug jokes.
Tries to disguise his British accent.
Would hate Tracy Beaker.
Theodore Steven Kord - Blue Beetle II

Information about him:
The second Blue Beetle after Dan, and picked up the mantle because he felt guilty that his uncle had killed Dan, and because Dan had asked him to carry on his legacy.
Despite the Scarab not working for him, Ted managed to train himself (he has good acrobatic skills), and with his intelligence and excellent engineering skills he built himself lots of gadgets and even a ship named Bug!
He had no real direction for himself.
His father had left him Kord Omniversal when he had passed, and he did manage to revitalise the company so that its R&D managed to rival STAR Labs, but with all the work in the JLA as Blue Beetle, he did occasionally get the company bankrupt.
Was apart of JLI where he met Booster, and the two managed to get each other in a lot of trouble, but still remained close friends.
Known for his odd sense of humour and his mouth getting himself into trouble with other members.
Retired from super-heroics and helped out the Birds of Prey and Barbara Gordon, with the two of them becoming close online friends.
He has a new (kind of) sister named Victoria Kord, who is the enemy of Jaime Reyes, and she is jealous of Ted inheriting the company instead of her.
Was killed by his old friend and manager Max Lord.
He does suffer from a heart condition, which caused him to retire.
Headcanons:
Tries to make Booster stay over at his place as much as possible, so that he would stop disappearing to the Time Lab, without telling him.
Tried to build a prank-popcorn machine for the JLI to make multi-coloured popcorn that would pop everywhere, but Batman was the first to use it.
Orders Chocos to Martian Manhunter when he is bored.
Always references Booster.
Tries to hack the Batcomputer, did it but no one believes him.
Always references the "ONE PUNCH, JUST ONE PUNCH" but the younger generation of heroes thinks he is talking about Saitama.
Jaime Reyes - Blue Beetle III

Information about him:
The third and current Blue Beetle.
Mexican-american, where he lives in El Paso, Texas.
Wanted to become a dentist, as told by Eclipso.
Has a younger sister called Milagro Reyes who is aware of his brothers status as a hero. She is a boostle shipper.
He got the scarab during Infinite crisis, when Ted lost the scarab during a visit to the Rock of Eternity. The Rock was destroyed during a battle between Shazam and the Spectre. The scarab landed in Texas where Jaime discovered it alongside his friends Paco and Brenda.
His scarab was called Khaji-da and was able to communicate with Jaime unlike really with Dan, when it connected to his spine.
Booster sought him out and fought with him, distraught that there was a new Blue Beetle. However, they reconciled and he acted as a mentor figure to him.
Guy Gardner also confronts him and talks to him about Ted and his legacy.
Jaime met with Danielle to discuss more about the Scarab.
He encounters the Reach and had to fight them.
Is in a romantic relationship with Traci Thirteen.
In young justice, he and Impulse were seen to be close friends.
He was apart of the JLA and currently is apart of the Teen Titans.

barry allen quotes
to use on graphics, edits, captions for your edits etc.
but i guess i'll be seeing you soon, mom…i'll see you soon.
i love you, grandpa. i- i love you, too. (bart and barry - impulse: bart saves the universe 1999)
yeah. i'm starting to hate gorillas. (the flash 2011)
it's been an overwhelming year. seems like i've spent all my life as flash trying to stay ahead of danger, trying to play catch-up, trying to do too much… each choice seemed to sprout more consequences… more choices… more challenges… and complications ensued. but the answer isn't always to do more. problems can't always be solved by running faster. sometimes the simplest solution is the best. i can't outrun grodd, and i won't let him hurt any more innocent people. grodd is right… it is over. but i'm going to be the one writing that last chapter. because solovar was also right… the mind will always be faster. (by gail simone i think??)
you wanted the power of the source of the lightning… well, this is the source. welcome to the speed force. (…) but here, i am the king.
i love you. i love you more. (patty and barry i think???)
but it's not about dwelling on the past, it's about fighting for my father's future. in my heart, i know he is innocent… and as long as he rots in prison for her murder, i owe it to him to keep searching for the real killer. i'm not looking back. it's about setting things right. and although sometimes when you try to set things right… you risk letting other people down. you must not let that keep you from moving forward. if you're not moving, you're not living. my mom taught me that. i love her for that. and so i run. for her. for everybody. 'cause no matter what happened in the past… no matter how bad it gets, or how many hits i take… i will always keep trying. (the flash 2011 issue 24)
this is almost a welcome distraction. if the world weren't at stake, i'd be recording and studying everything. we could be rewriting every history book. instead, i'm fighting for a way to sign my own death certificate. and yet, weirdly… i don't feel so bad. one life… my life… against millions. i can live with that. it almost feels like… i was destined to make this choice. somehow. someday. like i was meant to be here for a crisis like this, somehow. i'm okay with it. i'm ready. i'm going to miss iris, though. and ice cream. and polar bears.
yeah, well, i have a bad habit of racing death and winning.
the only control we have in life is in the choices we make. however small, each action has a consequence. and while we can't steer the outcome of every possibility… we can nudge the world in the right direction. at least, that's what i'm going to keep trying to do.

I was thinking about music lately and started to wonder: are there any superheroes with music powers? I have vague memories of some villains (possibly from Central City?), but can't recall any heroes. Thank you for your time! I have really enjoyed learning about the All Star Squadron, thanks for running this blog.
I think you and I may be thinking of the same man. And if you are under the impression the person you're thinking of is still a supervillain than I have some WONDERFUL news to share with you.
(An image posted to the Pied Piper's instagram. No seriously)
Hartley Rathaway was born to a rich family in the wealthiest neighborhoods of Central City. Born with a potent hearing deficiency that left him functionally deaf for most of his childhood, Rathaway was given a new lease on life when he received a cochlear implant in high school. Intoxicated by music for the first time, Hartley became something of a musical savant, not just in the playing of music but also the science of sound. Eventually he made a breakthrough in technology that allowed him to control human actions and various other powerful effects through the use of specialized flute and other technology of his own design.
Originally, mostly due to youthful indiscretion Hartley appeared as a supervillain under the name the Pied Piper where he clashed with the second Flash, Barry Allen. His crimes were mostly along the lines of thievery or just public nuisance to try and prove his own superiority but it was a self fulfilling cycle where his criminal activity would land him in person, escaping would lead him to further criminal action and so on, especially when he became entangled with the complicated Central City institution of The Rogues, a group of supervillains who pride themselves on both thumbing their noses at the law AND their ironclad code of honor.
Eventually though, as we all know, Barry Allen lost his life in the first multiversal crisis which seemed to have a profound effect on Rathaway who became a model prisoner in the aftermath most well known for performing his music for the rest of the population at Iron Heights. Due to the nonviolent nature of his crimes, his good behavior and a series of cases in which he assisted the 3rd Flash he was released on parole.
However Rathaway's parents were not waiting for his release, having long since "given up" on their son. Not helped by the revelation of Hartley's sexuality which he had discovered during the therapy and soul searching he had conducted in prison. He became a drifter, a friend and defender of Central and Keystone Citys' homeless populations and the founder of the Freespace movement, a collective action organization focused on the rights and welfare of homeless people and squatters. It was in this role that he also continued his close alliance and friendship with the 3rd Flash.
Rathaway seemingly suffered a tragic and violent relapse when he was blamed for the death of his parents, going on the run from the authorities. Leading to a manhunt across months that ended with him and fellow reformed Rogues Heatwave and the original Trickster assisting the Flash in bringing down the metahuman black marketeer Blacksmith.
Ever since Rathaway has become a heroic fixture in Central and Keystone City, keeping his central mission of helping the city's homeless and at risk populations with a central pillar being the protection of queer youth who have become homeless due to bigoted family situations. In this mission he has become one of, if not the closest ally of the Flash Family and can often be seen backing them up in battles that require all possible manpower especially with Hartley's first hand knowledge of many of his former Rogue teammates.
It is also known that Rathaway is the main caregiver of his younger sister Jerrie, whose severe autism disorder has inspired Rathaway's current technical focus in using music to help treat and comfort those with disruptive mental illness or learning disabilities for which he has received a large amount of support from Mr. Terrific's Terrifitech.
I give him his well deserved flowers on this lovely Pride Month of hours and hope that the people of the world will continue to benefit from the sweet music he makes.

You know there really is something poetic about the fact that Flash and Reverse keep bringing each other back intentionally. Like they’re not each others lightning rods so they have to try and bring the other back. At this point Reverse seems to have won if you really look at it. They’re two sides of the same devoted coin and Barry Allen needs Eobard Thawne the same way Eobard needs him.
Sweetheart, they very much ARE each other's Lightning Rod.
Eobard is the only one person in the whole multiverse who was able to bring Barry back after Barry had been dead for 23 years. Iris (who by the way is the reason or at least part of the reason why Barry died in the first place), didn't even FEEL that Barry had returned once Eobard had brought him back. Wally, who keeps saying he is Barry's Lightning Rod, was never able to pull Barry out of the speedforce.
It is kind of subtle because there is no moment in which Eobard uses the words "Lightning Rod" and I don't think he likes the expression, but that's very much what happened in the Rebirth Mini. He did the unthinkable (made himself the NSF), physically walked into the Speed Force and pulled Barry out. And Geoff Johns, being as subtle as a brick, had a panel of Eobard standing next to a huge lightning rod lol.

And when it comes to Barry? Well, Barry very much uses the Lightning Rod expression. And at the end of Finish Line he does accept/admits to being Eobard's Lightning Rod.

When it comes to how they need to actively WANT to bring each other back, I think it's partially due to the fact that these are not "just" speedsters; Barry is the Speed Force personified, and Eobars is the Negative Speed Force personified, and this again is explained pretty well in the Rebirth Mini. So yeah, they are very much two sides of the same coin and it makes SENSE that they're each other's lodestone.
But it's not always intentional anyway. Barry did not consciously brought Eobard back to life at the beginning of Running Scared. He was feeling guilty because he didn't manage to save him in The Button, and apparently he wanted him back. Same thing happened when Barry summoned a lightning storm that very precisely hit Iron Heights and again very precisely crushed Eobard's cell and his restraints, without hurting him, in order to set him free - Barry did not do this knowingly, he was worried because Daniel had been taken from Iron Heights and brought to Belle Reve, and subsequently he had died in a Task Force X mission, and in his fear that this could happen to Eobard too, his powers manifested and broke him out of prison.
It's the same thing as when lightning strikes and saves August's life by turning him into a speedster. Or when it keeps striking and turns some hundred people into speedsters because baby feels lonely. Barry doesn't do this consciously; as he hasn't accepted that he is the Speed Force, his powers come out following his desires or his fears.
That being said, there is a very important component of reciprocity when it comes to lightning rods. When Linda forgot about Wally, Wally was unable to leave the timestream because even if she very much is his Lightning Rod, she couldn't be that for him at that time, because she didn't remember him. It's not an automatic thing: if tomorrow Linda stopped loving Wally, she wouldn't be his Lightning Rod anymore despite how much he loves her. Which leads me to believe that despite not fully realizing it in a conscious manner, Barry and Eobard know and they look for each other subconsciously, and they keep each other grounded to the timeline.
Again you are correct, Eobard very much won. Barry didn't care about him ONE BIT back in the Silver Age, Eobard was just a nuisance with superpowers. And now Eobard is his lodestone, the darkness to his light, and even the voice of reason sometimes. Like when in Knight Terrors he's pretty much the only one telling Barry "this is a nightmare, wake up".
#this is why I insist on saying that other villains can only dream of having what Eobard has#he did it the son of a bitch he fucking did it#my asks#my meta#eobard thawne#barry allen#eobarry

Mick Rory/Leonard Snart:
Thermologic Twins! One time Len got so mad that Mick got released on good behavior and wasn't his cellmate anymore that he hatched a plan to make Mick murder Barry Allen (did not even know Barry Allen was the Flash) so he could never leave prison again (normal things to do), and the entire time Mick had relapsed into crime and was going ":( I am so sad Captain Cold isn't here :( committing crimes is so much more fun when Captain Cold is here :( oh someone turned up with a cold gun? Yay Captain Cold is here :)!"
Hal Jordan/Oliver Queen:
They only have 138 works?????? Anyway. tfw your best friend goes insane with grief and you have to kill him AND HIS LAST WORD IS YOUR NAME, and he doesn’t really die but you think he does, the next time you see him he accidentally almost kills you while telling you he just wants to be friends again and you tell him to get out of your life while you’re still sorry you killed him, and then YOU die, and then he sacrifices himself to save the world, and when he had infinite wells of power at his fingertips he used it to rebuild your body atom by atom using a single molecule from Superman’s cape, and at the request of your soul, made it so the last you remembered was your roadtrip because you considered it the last good moment in your life AND THAT ROAD TRIP HAPPENED TEN YEARS BEFORE AND WAS ALSO SUPER GAY. Also Oliver canonically called Hal Baby at least once

Hey Hi Hello 👋🏽
Whenever this reaches you i hope your day/night has been wonderful. I just read your concepts on Green Lanterns: Special Forces and I’m in love it sounds so interesting and I will admit that the lanterns have a special place in my heart. But now I’m curious as to how Kyle would fit into everything, so would you be willing to expand on his character and role? Would also include his multiverse trip with Jason and Donna into your universe? Idk when canonically it fits lol but would that be something you’d be willing to play with or not? Absolutely no pressure either way I’m just curious lol I love pretty much everything you’ve done and Wondermom was one of my favorite series!!
Sorry for kinda rambling lol
Wishing you all the best!!!💙🌙
Thanks for the kind words! I’d be more than happy to elaborate!
Okay, so to start off, like I said in my first post, I really only have the loose structure of everything laid out, so adventures like the one with Jason and Donna are classified under “yet to be determined” but I will say, for my little DCAU I’ve got going on here, I want to use the multiverse as LITTLE AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE, because—like time travel—once you open that can of worms, things become so complicated and “story creep” sinks in, and before you know it, you have Crisis on Infinite Earths, which I feel is a storyline that’s just so humongous I just stop caring. So… for the moment, it’s a big IDK. 🤷♀️
Alright, so getting into Kyle’s story! (keep in mind, again, I haven’t written anything down in certain terms. This is my “idea board” basically) So during the events of Emerald Twilight, Hal Jordon is so grieved by the death of his best friend Barry Allen that he decides to try and force a prophecy to come true in order to bring him back. The prophecy (Blackest Night) states that there will a unification of power among the Lanterns, and life will come forth in great abundance. Hal decides that the way to achieve “unification of power” is to take all the other Green Lantern rings by any means necessary and then he will be the sole wielder of the power of Will. Then, he’ll have enough power to bring Barry back to life. This is not what the prophecy meant, and it doesn’t work, but during the chaos, a new Green Lantern is chosen to replace Hal on Earth’s GL Team. He’s chosen in a rush, seemingly at random, and thrust into the fray. His name is Kyle Rayner.
Once Hal is defeated, his trial concluded and sentence carried out, the other GLs are able to assess Kyle more carefully, and they discover something truly remarkable. Remember the emotion tracker thing I made up for this AU? Well, in Kyle’s case all the levels are super high—all of them—with Willpower leading the pack by just a bit. Somehow, despite this clear unbalance of emotion (according to the GL handbook) Kyle is cleared by his ring for active duty, and showcases very refined control over his emotions and the ring. The only reason anyone can think of to explain this odd paradox is that Kyle is naturally super in touch with his emotions, but he’s also an artist, and he frequently uses those emotions by putting them all into his art. Intense feelings, but great control. A Green Lantern ring hasn’t chosen someone like this in a long, long time.
So, time goes on, Kyle gets trained up, Hal is visited in prison, more adventures ensue, and THEN something big happens. (I might be confusing this for something that happened in Sinestro Wars, or I just made it up—either way) Oa gets destroyed. Not entirely. Like, not Death Star level blown up, just blown to oblivion from orbit. BUT during this chaos, when everyone’s evacuating and trying to fight off the enemy, Kyle gets distracted. He thinks he can hear this strange sound coming from the Central Power Battery there on the planet, and it sounds vaguely like a whale call. As if completely forgetting there’s fire raining from the sky, he’s compelled to enter inside of the Power Battery and is transported to an Other Place. Here, he meets Ion, the spiritual personification of all willpower in the universe, taking the form of something that looks vaguely like a whale. Ion can sense that the time is right. Kyle has been chosen. He will be its new host.
From the outside, blaster fire strikes the Power Battery and it EXPLODES in great green furry, but from the top, like a bright green shooting star, Kyle flies, radiating Willpower Energy! He fights off the advancing enemy, the day is saved, and then the questions begin. Kyle is kind of like the Green Lanterns’ new Power Battery right now, playing host to Ion, and he also cannot turn this power off, which means he cannot return to civilian life. The Oans also don’t like the idea of him going out on missions anymore, because if something happens to him, Ion has no host, and then the Green Lanterns would be without power! Actually, they start to formulate their plan to build a new Power Battery for Ion so Kyle doesn’t have to be a host for it, but Ion stubbornly refuses. It will stay in Kyle and it will accept no other host. So for now, looks like he’s stuck.
(sidenote: I’m wondering if Hal should escape prison here during the fall of Oa? He disappears into the universe for a while like a vagabond and becomes something of a space ranger/outlaw/vigilante? Trying to atone for his crime? Just a thought…)
Then comes the Sinestro War. It begins when Sinestro captures Kyle (still working out HOW exactly he does that…) and since he knows that Kyle can handle being a host for an Entity, he decides to use him instead of building a whole Power Battery for Paralax, the Yellow Lanterns’ version of Ion. (Creepy bug-like beasty.) Paralax tries to take control, trying to push Ion out, but is unable to. In the end, Kyle is playing host to TWO entities, which is unimaginable! I mean, he wasn’t supposed to be able to do that with just one, but two is even more insane. So, in this state, Paralax manages to get some control over Kyle and Sinestro is able to start making Yellow Lantern rings, and the whole war thing happens.
After all that brouhaha is over and done with, the good guys still have to figure out how to get Paralax out of Kyle, and all they can think to do is try and give Ion a little help. So they lure Kyle to the Blue Lanterns’ planet where they convince Adara (Blue Lantern Entity, bird-like… thing) to also take Kyle as a host (temporarily) and help Ion fight Paralax out. Remarkably, Kyle survives the experience, but Paralax is absolutely refusing to let go of Kyle. If nothing else, he can’t control Kyle anymore, but now Kyle’s stuck with three Entities in his head, and no one knows what to do about it.
All of this comes to a head during Blackest Night. That little prophecy is about to come to pass, and it starts with the rising of the Black Lanterns, wielding the power of death itself. Much to write for this, very little is even conceptualised, except for how it ends, which is this:
Kyle catches the attention of all the remaining Entities, starting with Jerrog (The Butcher) aka the Red Lantern Entity (bull-looking monster). He’s just straight up angry at the fact that Kyle exists and wants to fight the other Entities inside of him, and so invites himself in. He’s quickly followed by Ophidian, (Orange, Greed, Snake) who’s just jealous that everyone else is using Kyle as a host and wants to take him for himself, and then he’s followed by Phillipa and Marona (Indigo, Compassion, Squid, and Pink, Love, Horse respectively. (yes, I changed the Pink Lanterns’ one a bit)) Anyway, they go diving in to try and help Kyle, but all they end up doing is nearly ripping Kyle apart on the molecular level! What stops them? Well, in a tremendous display of control, Kyle forces all the Entities to stop quarrelling, and suddenly he’s enveloped in a bright, white light! It shines so brilliantly that everyone, on every planet in every nearby galaxy can see it! From this miraculous light emerges the Entity for a new type of lantern. The White Lanterns. And the chosen shape? Man. Kyle. With this incredible power, he sends out White Lantern rings to all the heroes of the galaxies and calls them forward to fight the armies of Nekron, king of the Black Lanterns. It’s a huge crossover event, it’s insane, I still haven’t written more than this for it XD but in the end, the good guys win, and then…
Kyle takes everyone back to Oa where he reconstructs it as New Oa. He builds a new kind of Central Power Battery, one where it can fit all seven Entities, and the creation of any rings can be monitored and regulated. Finally, all the Entities let go of Kyle and return him to his natural state. Well, mostly. After going through all of that, it feels nearly impossible for Kyle to ever go back to being a “normal human.” From then on, due in no small part to the Guardians’ lack of initiative regarding the prophecy of Blackest Night and their failure to do a couple of other things, Kyle will be the leader of the Guardians from now on—staying on standby in case the White Lanterns are ever needed again. Also also, because of the new Lantern system he put in place, this is what opens the door to discovering the sub-sections of Lanterns, like the Gold Lanterns (joy) and the Grey Lanterns (sadness).
So there you have it! Everything I’ve written about this artistic, beautiful destiny’s child! Hope you enjoyed reading that, and I hope there aren’t any glaring holes, or things I ought to reconsider (or that I forgot) but that’s why this is just my idea board. Let me know what you think!
