sometimes i truly can't handle my father of all people understanding what i'm talking about when it comes to like. one of my favorite movies of all time. like i know i'm partially a dc fan bc of him and him alone but STILL. i just asked him "hey you like lois lane in the snyderverse right?" and he was like "kind of a random question but yeah why?" and i was like "well i was reading this article the other day which i've read a couple of times already and it's from this guy explaining why everyone should watch batman vs superman ultimate edition because then the plot makes sense and it's a great movie and all and i mostly agree with him because it's also one of my favorite movies of all time but he also just hates lois lane for some reason and i don't get why" and my dad IMMEDIATELY goes "lois is the only one who figures out what's actually going on for the entire movie" and i'm like "EXACTLY. she's the only one who knows what's happening" and he's like "yeah because she's such an investigative journalist. and in man of steel she singlehandedly figures everything out about clark kent or superman as well" like thanks dad i'm glad you understand me. i mean i'm a little creeped out that you're quoting my batman vs superman slideshow i started making two days ago almost verbatim but. thank you. come to think of it i wonder if my dad likes lois lane because of my mom that actually might be something i should consider

Nobody has suffered at the hands of pokemon fans more than nice rivals in 3d games. Seriously nobody gave a shit about nice rivals until XY the worst I've heard is that helping Wally catch his ralts takes too long and May/Brendan's starter never fully evolves. They were both nice. Barry, lucas/dawn, Bianca, cheren, N, and Hugh were all nice. Silver and Blue were literally the only really actually mean rivals until Gladion. What about Shauna made people start frothing at the mouth. Everybody needs to apologize to Trace right now he wasn't even a replacement for Blue like Blue was in that game doing his own damn thing. And the audacity of some people to beg for mean rivals back and then treat Carmine the way they do. The nostalgia poisoning in the pokemon fandom is making people hallucinate.

I really really like that lucanis reaches the 'there must be some way through this' realization 'off camera', so to speak, while presumably looking at rook explaining the situation to spite. it just. hits right. he gets that moment to himself after 'this place is a nightmare, why would I want to stay here' to come back into focus, to gather himself and think it through in peace, outside of the demands of anyone’s gaze (including the player’s!), while rook takes care of spite’s confusion and urgency and distress as he can’t himself in this shattered state. they're inside his soul, but he still gets that moment of privacy, with rook and spite there and supporting but not intruding. idk there's just something so good and right-feeling about it. rook's presence in lucanis' mind at its most vulnerable and frozen could have felt SO invasive if the quest wasn't written as skillfully as it is, and I get skeeved out by that kind of thing incredibly easily so it's a testament to how well it's done that it always feels safe and supportive. lucanis has had both his bodily and psychological (slash spiritual/existential) integrity and autonomy violated so brutally and repeatedly, and having even the way the camera perceives him here grant him the dignity and respect and privacy of soul he hasn’t experienced in a long time… it’s a whole thing huh. No wonder it’s taken me a while to put it into words lol 

(also what a contrast to what solas and rook have got going on, and what a sly way to slide the point of comparison in there to build to the thematic whole. the solas version of this IS of course wildly invasive and skeeves me out but in the intended delighted horror movie way. solas, too, was let into someone’s soul through the cracks in the wake of a traumatic event, and he IMMEDIATELY sought to turn it to his own benefit and use that trauma as a weapon against them fhdsja I’m sorry but it’s just such a character-revealing instinct for him to act on without hesitation and I love how terrible he is, it’s all so unforgivably premeditated and consistent.

rook acting out of the desire to make sure lucanis is ok vs. solas going ‘well. When life gives you oops killed my friend, make dead friend poisoned lemonade and make his loved ones drink it. this sunk cost fallacy isn’t going to perpetuate itself’ is such a neat contrast and it’s not in your face about it but it’s still there, deep and solid down in the thematic narrative. rook doesn’t do anything to or in lucanis’ mind, really — they negotiate their way through the layers of defense and are let through, and they help him make the whole thing more explicable, but they never exert any force or go rooting around for anything that doesn’t present itself to them first. solas goes about gathering ammo for when he's going to nothing personel kid this person from like the first moment fhdskh doesn't waste a second before he's on that gaslight gatekeep girlboss grind. the fact that the game goes out of its way to show there IS a respectful, non-selfish and kind version of this process makes what solas is doing even more deliciously awful (glee) and rook and lucanis’ relationship (platonic, romantic, whatever it might be in any given playthrough) all the more moving to me)

Okay so random idea that hasn't left my mind.

SVSSS Rival Idol Groups.

So, two groups. Cang Qiong and Hua Huan.

Cang Qiong- Yue Qingyuan, Shen Jiu, Shang Qinghua, Mu Qingfang, Qi Qingqi, Liu Qingge

Hua Huan- Tianlang-Jun, Luo Binghe (tried to join Cang Qiong at first but was denied), Zhuzhi-Lang

Both- Shen Yuan

Now let me explain, both groups work under the same major company but have rivalries between the two of them for various reason. They share a studio but try and time things so they don't meet up.

Now, Shen Yuan joined the industry a bit late and there was an issue in his contract. Due to this issue he was technically apart of both groups. Could the company have fixed this, sure, but did they, no. So, Shen Yuan switches between the two groups.

Shen Yuan is of course not limited to his wifebeam only by svsss standards of course so he has both these groups wrapped around his finger (even if he doesn't really know).

Problem 1: Sharing a favorite idol between the two groups causes parts of the rivalry problems

Problem 2: The types of work now done.

Hua Huan's group is more known for darker themes within thier music, think like a mix between dark romance and heartbreaker stuff.

Cang Qiong is more pop based.

Pretty big difference between the two, oh does is cause problems tho for the other groups.

Cang Qiong sees Shen Yuan acting fucking seductive as hell in any sorta Hua Huan music/videos etc. Hua Huan sees Shen Yuan acting like a whole entire angel in anything Cang Qiong films. Both groups knows how Shen Yuan actually acts of course but God damn if the switch up doesn't kill some of them. (R.I.P. Liu Qingge after seeing Shen Yuan do anything suggestive in a Hua Huan video)

Okay, so background info down. Now to the idea plaguing my mind for the past week. "SIX the Musical". Cang Qiong had decided to do a fan film stunt for a musical voted on by fans. This is how it goes.

Mu Qingfang plays Catherine of Aragon -> sings "No Way"

Shang Qinghua plays Ann Bolyen -> sings "Don't lose your head"

Yue Qingyuan plays Jane Seymour -> sings "Heart of stone"

Qi Qingqi does the song "Haus of Holbien" as a joke for the most part but still kills it

Liu Qingge plays Anne of Cleves -> sings "Get down"

SHEN YUAN plays Catherine Howard -> sings "all you wanna do" (if that doesn't kill far to many people with the dancing involved to match the song then I don't know what would)

Shen Jiu plays Catherine Parr -> sings "I don't need your love"

It goes great-ish! Only a couple nose bleeds from the fans.

(OH YEAH, forgot to mention but in any song you know damn well that Qi Qingqi is playing an male characters. Fake mustache and everything, "Oh so I have a little flirt with the footman [get down]" and Qi Qingqi is there fake blushing acting like the footman while Liu Qingge is still acting)

Oh and in Haus of Holbien you know damn well the lyrics are taken into account of for the group. "You bring the corsets, we'll bring the cinches, no one wants a waist of nine inches" you know damn well someone is being forced into a corset screaming and kicking (shen jiu). "Try these heels, so high it's naughty. But we cannot guarantee that you'll still walk at 40" Mu Qingfang is struggling for his life trying to get up while wearing like 5-6 inch heels.

I’ve been having issues with this ‘it’s never too late to mask again’ rhetoric people have started using to try to get people to take covid precautions again because it’s a phrase that demands no accountability, no self reflection, no growth. Because unfortunately IT IS too late for MILLIONS of people who’ve been killed/disabled by covid and conditions triggered as a direct result of covid, and i think it’s disrespectful to those lives to allow people to just jump right back into pretending they care without acknowledging this enormous tragedy they actively participated in! Sorry but you don’t get to ignore a pandemic for 4 years and then wash your hands of the blood you helped spill through willful ignorance while claiming to care about social justice!

And it’s also aggravating because it’s SO OBVIOUS most of these people are only doing it because they’re afraid of how covid/bird flu/a trump health admin will personally affect THEM, not because they’ve evolved politically or actually care about their community. There’s no genuine solidarity with the disabled community, no self-reflection on their participation in eugenics and normalization of mass death/disability, no connecting the dots between disease mitigation (or lack thereof) and capitalism/imperialism/racism, etc. its just more individualism that ultimately does not help lead to collective liberation and will not prevent this from happening again.

Day 7 | Found | @sergeantsporks 's Dadrius Week

Darius watched this kid get indoctrinated, he wasn't able to stop the genocide, he didn't defeat Belos, and he never got revenge or answers. If you have all these morals, and your identity is tied to them, but you fail to see them through, who are you? Darius's legacy might have been as a villain who tore Hunter's family apart, or the Isles (and his friends, like Eda) might have seen him as a monster who stood by Belos. Darius couldn't afford to care about what people thought of him, even the people he loves, if it meant doing something. I think Darius did a lot of small things. Even if you can only save one life, you still saved a whole person.

After years of playing the game and being defined by other people, I think both of them need to find their identities again.
