Sleep medication is such a battle bc most of them are a) highly risky for bipolar and if not that then b) addictive which I also can’t have largely bc of the former factor. And then so many others are “off label” and are also bad for bipolar. I’ve been getting 5-6 hours of sleep for the last month and a half and I need 8-10 hours which sounds insane to a lot of ppl but again with my bipolar I disorder #mybipolarIdisorder we need more sleep at large to avoid mania and/or depression and I’m in a low level but undeniable depression and my mom really thinks it would be help if I could get back on my healthier sleep schedule. I want lunesta so bad bc it seems like you always hear good things about it but it is once again addictive.

Batman-Bingo (Pre-Crisis Edition)

So I have been trying to fill in some of the "gaps" in my Batman fandom exploration and have therefore recently read a pretty massive chunk of older Batman comics in a very short time. As a result of a conversation with a fandom friend, I decided to make a "Bingo" game of Pre-Crisis ((1939-1985) Bat plots and tropes shenanigans that were particularly common (and absolutely insane) during this era.

This list is primarily oriented around the Silver Age (partly due to personal preference and partly due to just how delightfully wild it is) but I have also made an effort to include some specific allusions to Golden and Bronze Age specifically--as well as several that encompass multiple eras.

I invite you to choose a card and a random Batman story from the Pre-Crisis era (I was primarily reading the Bat stories from Detective Comics, Batman, and World's Finest) and see how many you can find. You are also encouraged to use this as a "scavenger hunt" with multiple stories or as a fic prompt challenge. However, I do recommend that if you want to make this into a "drinking game", you either choose a non-alcoholic beverage or limit yourself to no more than 3 stories. (Otherwise, well...you'll be as green as Batman's skin in "The Mummy Crime Fighters").

not that it would matter if I had, and not that it's any of your business, but I have in fact never taken accutane.

This is a useful teaching moment though, because what you're doing is a well-studied phenomenon in digital media called 'policing fake femininity.' It's a thing people do to women in the public eye, a specific kind of criticism centred around accusations of being inauthentic, fake, or having cheated in some way. Often it's men doing the policing but women do it to each other a lot too, there are whole websites dedicated to it in fact. Often those criticisms centre around our appearances, as yours did here.

It's sometimes a response to perceived inequality, of which there is plenty! Women in the public eye - myself included - do benefit from a lot of privilege. I've always been quite open about that. People who engage in that kind of public bullying often tell themselves that because of the privilege (or perceived privilege) of their targets the fake femininity policing is socially justified, or the fault of the target. But it doesn't really do anything to correct the structural problems that give rise to that inequality.

In their paper "Policing Fake Femininity," scholars Brooke Duffy, Kate Miltner, and Amanda Wahlstedt say,

“The solution to the structural concerns associated with capitalist patriarchy is not, we contend, to label individual influencers “stupid famewhores” and disparage their mental health in ways that invoke the spectre of hysteria (e.g., “batsh*t crazy,” “delusional,” and “lunatic”). As Chemaly [Rage Becomes Her, 2018] argues, it is necessary that girls and women express their anger, but such a directive “is not an endorsement of unbridled rage, or permission to deliver a swift roundhouse kick to the face of anyone who upsets you, or to regularly fill the spaces you live and work in with hostility and discomfort.” While venting anger at these influencers and their purportedly questionable choices may provide some form of much-needed catharsis, such gender-coded vitriol amplifies the rampant misogyny and toxicity that women already face in online environments.”

What a shame it was when the “conservative” (not sure exactly what they conserve honestly) sect of American society chose a, we’ll call it, unconventional candidate in 2016, the progressive sect also had an unconventional candidate (unconventional in a not insane or malignant narcissist kinda way like the rights candidate though) as well.

The difference is, the right let their self absorbed, racist, batsh*t crazy, compulsive liar win the nomination. The left, they felt a Jewish man with socialist tendencies was too extreme and went with a candidate who could be the very definition of the establishment.

How did that turn out?…….

Bernie Sanders has been fighting for the working class for decades! A no nonsense, straight shooter with fabulous sarcasm. Just dry, subtle and absolutely amazing cynicism.

In this speech he points out some good figures. Hey maga! Listen up because y’all keep defending this sh*t instead of your fellow working class Americans or the Constitution overall.

Elon musk possesses more wealth than the bottom 52% of the American earners. More than likely that’s the vast majority of maga, I know I’m included in that bottom 52%, as are many who have the misfortune of reading this.

The top 1% of American “earners” possess more than the bottom 93% of the Americans workers. I can say with certainty that is anyone reading this. That’s fkn CRAZY!!

While 60% of us are living paycheck to paycheck, just a handful of people own all but 7% of the available capital.

You gotta look at it like this. There’s only a certain amount of money to be made in the U.S. If there was an infinite amount, the dollar would be worthless. Let’s break it down into hundreds. There’s a hundred bucks to split between one hundred people. One guy gets $93 and the other 99 of us split $7.

I think the top 10% can pay a higher percentage than the 40% tax rate 93% of us do.

Call me crazy. Call me dumb. But they can afford to pitch in more to our country. 🇺🇸
