With the Splatoon franchise turning 10 years old this week, do you have any favorite Splatoon moments?

Splatoon 10th anniversary babyyyy!! ive met some of my best friends and have had so many wonderful experiences i wouldnt otherwise have indirectly or directly because of this game, and i wouldnt trade that for anything. so a lot of my good memories with splatoon have to do with the people ive met. but for specifically splatoon-related stuff? hm yes. peak splatoon memory. Haicalive Kyoto Mix. i remember the concert was announced just before i started my first study abroad in japan. i was like. "oh holy shit not only is there a splatoon concert happening while im in japan, but for the first time its not in tokyo AND its in the city im going to be in. surely though, theyre going to hold it somewhere far from me." i look it up. its literally one of the closest train stations to my dorm. i could walk there if i wanted to. fucking crazy. now actually getting into the concert room itself... it was a lottery system. im not sure what the odds were, but there were a Lot of people there. i waited 90 fucking minutes in the merch line. and then from the amount of winning numbers and assuming the numbers were 1-99. 20% chance? maybe higher idk. but fortune was again in my favor...

i say im not crazy for the splatoon idols and yet. i was fucking jumping to now or never. singing along to the gibberish. one of the best hours of my life. im sorry to flex on all the idol fans like this.

theres a bunch of other memorable moments that come to mind (going to gamestop in nice clothes on my 17th birthday to pick up splatoon 1. exactly where i was for the octo expansion reveal. the hype surrounding chaos vs order. going to splaket. meeting in-person with best friends i met online through the splatoon fandom.) but being able to say that i saw the squid sisters and off the hook irl is a huge flex so that's all i will share

I like how Violet is so used to having dramatic ass children that Francesca marrying with no drama was too odd to her lmao. And thinking about how her story will unfold is actually kinda hilarious because it's gonna be like:

pearl saying the other day that she doesn't care about being on the leaderboard and skizz saying he doesn't believe her was interesting to me bc I believe pearl and I find it really relatable. Of course it looks like she's a massive sweat from the outside and of course she does care about doing well so that assumption isn't even entirely wrong it's just that.

I think Pearl is motivated by scores, of course she wants to get a good score of course she cares, but she doesn't necessarily care about the Highscore

She's motivated by knowing she can still do better and do more. She's not motivated by someone else doing better, otherwise she'd have stopped playing hungry hermits already since no one is beating her scores anyway. But she wants to get to day 8, she wants to find the even more ideal way to play, she sees what she can improve and so she has fun with consistently improving it.

There's a reason pearl, out of everyone, focused on the solving all the secrets part of decked out 2 rather than on winning the competitive part of it. Bc at a certain point there is an ideal strategy to maximising the score you get out of your run, but to complete the game you need to still keep looking and keep exploring and doing new things

I relate to that, I'm a completionist at heart, I want to find all the secrets! I want to find the ideal way to do the thing! But I don't like grinding just for grinding's sake, I would never have the motivation to, idk, run frogger the amount of times jevin has.

Pearl isn't on all the scoreboards bc she'll grind for ages to get the highscore, she's just enjoying the games and is also just, y'know. Good at them
