If Pearline holds no purpose, then nethier does Mary ( which isn't true). Like I get, we can all have opinions, but some of these people are disrespectful and truly don't care about character dynamics in a story. Pearline represents a new love for Sammie, new experience, and new beginning. They very much compliment each because of their drive for music and the freedom they feel when doing it. ( It was told in actions/ movements) A real critique should have been, " I wish we would have gotten more of backstory about Pearline’s other than she was married." instead of comparing her to replace to an object (lamp). Like get sometimes people can't see beyond sex, but let try our best to keep coloring within a line because some of yall wasn’t paying attention.
Exactly.
It's plain microaggressions disguised as critical engagement of Black art. Like you said, a good faith critique could've been wanting more backstory etc, but that wasn't their intent.
Nowadays we have to be more mindful of how others interact with Black content, especially Black female characters. There are anti-Black people who are also saying disparaging things about Riri in the Ironheart series (another Coogler produced project) that are thinly veiled as "critiques" when it's just putting down Black women.
We're in an era of blatant Black erasure and I'll always stay on the necks of dishonest critiques and shady "opinions". I'm especially suspicious of opinions from people whose blogs/pages have never had any posts about Black media, but suddenly have negative things to say about a Black film character. Every one of those Black women characters had agency that propelled the story forward (even Grace as a Chinese American character pushed the plot), and having viewed the film several times, I can't even imagine Pearline not being there, especially as a balance to the Black female presence helping to create Blues music, too.
Every male character had a female counterpart that brought out different sides to them and mirrored their inner impulses, and Sammie not having Pearline would've been a hole in the story. In fact, when Sammie was in the church at the end and his father was preaching for him to let go of secular music, he thinks of Delta Slim and Pearline as his reasons to keep making blues music and leaving the delta for good.
People get mad when I call it anti-Blackness wrapped in misogynoir. It's what I see.
Pearline helped propel Sammie into the future, and he revered her for the rest of his life. It's why so many people get misty-eyed when they see that he named his blues club after her. I mean, even the great blues guitarist Son House has a song named "Pearline" that I know Ryan listened to in his research of blues music, so she was meant to be there.

please write that nastylot meta if you feel so inclined!!! i’m a believer as well <3
i’m not sure how coherent or well-written this will be but i have SO many thoughts on their dynamic(s) so i’m gonna try my best to put them together
i think what makes nastylot so compelling to me is that all three of these women have been ostracized or outcasted in some way. either by society, their friends, their families, or some combination of all 3, misty, natalie, and lottie are all intimately familiar with what it means to be “othered.” this seems to bleed into all of their romantic relationships, as well, with lottie being the only main character without a canon love interest, misty’s multiple failed attempts at dating, and natalie’s inability to achieve stability with any of her partners
… which is why it makes perfect sense to me that these would be the three characters most open to polyamory out of anyone. lottie seems like the most obvious candidate for someone who would be into it— out of all three of them, i think she’s the one who craves togetherness and community the most. misty’s desperation is more evident in her drastic and, oftentimes, outright dangerous attempts to get people to pay attention to/like her, but, unlike lottie, misty never really stoops to the point of changing herself for anyone. instead, misty hovers around people like a lost puppy looking for its owner, hoping they’ll see her for what she’s worth if they only get to know her. lottie, on the other hand, takes the opposite approach, projecting an image of stability and leadership while hiding the parts of herself she’s been taught to hate (see: her mental illness)
misty and natalie both have something lottie wants desperately: the ability to be completely and utterly themselves. misty never changes for anyone, despite many people’s attempts at getting her to. natalie is similar in this way, maintaining her sense of morality no matter how bad shit gets in the wilderness + being one of the only survivors who openly admits that what happened to them was traumatizing despite the unspoken agreement to never acknowledge it. lottie, on the other hand, falls so deeply into this role of prophetess that she built in the wilderness that she maintains it into adulthood, creating an entire commune that surrounds her with worshippers so that she can feel connected to people after being isolated and ostracized in her youth, no matter how empty or fickle that connection is
the thing that sets lottie’s connections to misty and natalie apart, though, is that they’re based in the harshest parts of reality that the other survivors tend to look away from: the shared trauma, the innate understanding of one another’s desire for intimacy, and the knowledge that each of them are so fundamentally damaged that they will likely never receive it in anyone but each other. so of course lottie is the key here. she’s the one who proposes the idea of polyamory, likely positing it as a spiritual thing and asserting the importance of the collective (think about how she referred to shauna’s baby as “our baby;” how she acknowledged the wilderness as “just us;” how she’s often speaking in “we”s in both timelines)
misty may initially reject this— despite her desire for a romantic relationship, she’s very much a traditionalist in how she views romance. she has an idyllic perspective on what a relationship should look like, often falling into this dreamy fantasy and imposing unrealistic expectations on the guys she’s interested in. she convinces herself she’s dating ben because, in her mind, it’s a fun, thrilling teenage romance when, in actuality, it’s a nonexistent, one-sided relationship that would be extremely disturbing if it were ever to actually materialize. she even does this with walter, romanticizing him before realizing that he can’t provide her with the emotional support or understanding she actually needs. and i think she realizes this at some point in season 2, on the commune with natalie and lottie and the other remaining survivors who actually do understand her, and that’s when she opens herself more to the idea of polyamory
even though i can see her showing some hesitancy, much like lottie, misty also values the idea of community and would likely open herself up to polyamory more quickly than natalie. where i think natalie’s main issue lies, however, is not with her holding onto some vague idea of monogamy being the “right” way to have a relationship (she was a punk kid in the 90s, trust me she doesn’t give a fuck about that) but moreso with her own commitment issues. i think her issues with her father influenced her in such a way that she began associating emotional intimacy with her dad’s violent outbursts from a very early age. on top of this, her mother seems to have been emotionally distant up until she died, setting a bad example for her from the time she was a young girl that never corrected itself
she’s known to have a lot of hookups in high school and this seems to continue well into adulthood, but there’s a reason they tend to stay as hookups rather than full-on relationships. travis is the closest thing to a real relationship she had and that was far from stable— except for her dynamics with misty and lottie, which seem to not only mimic romantic relationships in the adult timeline (her and misty working together to solve travis’ death, her becoming lottie’s right-hand woman completely unintentionally and “adopting” lisa with lottie) but provide her that sense of stability she can never seem to associate with relationships in both timelines (misty and lottie protecting her from the others in the wilderness, misty and lottie saving her from herself as her addiction/mental health issues spiral in adulthood)
this is also something natalie realizes in season 2 while on the commune— think about how she was initially so wary of lottie, only to give her trust over to her completley. think about how she was initially confrontational with misty, only to be genuinely happy to see and involve her when she joins them. after a while, i think natalie would realize what a critical part of her healing journey letting go of her commitment issues is and ultimately allow herself to be loved and love both of these women; not just from a distance, but as an actual romantic partner
and that is precisely what makes nastylot the most feasible polyamorous relationship out of anyone imo. each one of these girls has something to gain from entering an established partnership with the others, and each of them have a unique, mutual dynamic with both of the others that makes the idea of them entering a relationship entirely believable. i love love love most polyjackets ships but what makes nastylot so compelling to me is its genuine canon basis that a lot of other ships just don’t have
but don’t get me wrong here: i can absolutely meta-ize just about any polyjackets ship involving the main cast. so if anyone has any requests… my ask box happens to be open hehe
#this was such a fun meta to write i wanna do more#thinking especially about tailottievan or tailottieshauna because tai plays such an interesting role in both#and travlottienat or travlottiekilah#yj#yellowjackets#nastylot#lottienat#mistylot#mistynat#lottie matthews#misty quigley#natalie scatorccio#polyjackets#lottie matthews x natalie scatorccio#misty quigley x lottie matthews#misty quigley x natalie scatorccio#meta#letters#anons#long post

................. not to rain down on anyone's parade but barely characterized 14 year old lucerys could never have the swag eleanor or henry had
#1#2#3#4#5#again you do you per carità i'm not here to judge anyone's taste because then i'd be a fucking hypocrite#but this still made me laugh#maybe because i never really understood the hype around luke/aemond. i mean i get it on a intellectual level#but there are so many juicier pairs in hotd that while i understand why people would ship it i'm not sure why it's so popular#no hate to the pairing or anything of course. you can ship whatever you want!#but this reeks of the usual inflated m/m ship with one (or two) fictional men with weak or barely acknowledged characterizations#while incredibly complex female characters (at least in comparison) are JUST THERE#again this is not a hate post about the ship or slash pairings (OBVIOUSLY!!)#but still. in any case the eleanor/henry dynamic fits better with rhaenicent or maybe daemyra tbh#like... even when i love a ship with all my heart i wouldn't assign *every* possible au to them but only those who fit their characters bes#if my otp is a etl ship i wouldn't want to read or write a childhood friends to lovers au because what i like about them#is that they fucking hate each other's guts and perpetually try to kill the other (before falling in love... and sometimes even after)#if a pairing is more p&p like i really couldn't get into a wuthering heights au even if i'd recognize it's magnificently written#because that's not what these characters and their dynamic are. it would be projection#at this point i would prefer to read/write about two ocs ngl#again in fandom you can do whatever you want i'm no one and i could never tell you what you can or can't like. that'd be ridiculous#and idw the op of that post to feel bad about it. it's just my personal preference/opinion on fanworks that's all#val speaks#val rambles in the tags#txt

Every time someone in this godforsaken fandom says "I think we've talked about misogyny enough" I want to hit them with a hammer. No we haven't.
We haven't even talked about the deep "Ruikasa&Akitoya Vs. literally everyone else" imbalance enough but imagine all of the people that get pressured into writing specifically for male/male ships simply because otherwise they won't get any appreciation.
Yes it's a cowardly thing but when you see Ruikasa having over 4000 fics and Ichisaki having like 5 in total obviously you're going to be discouraged. Obviously you'll be biased into creating Ruikasa instead of other ships.
And as someone who depends on appreciation in particular to do any work at all obviously that's going to have a lasting consequence. Some people spend 4 hours crying in front of a screen just for 3 people to like their work and leave, it's understandable if they lose passion for creating at all, you guys killed them.
It's even in how we handle m/m ships. You go into a fic that's tagged Rui&Tsukasa(platonic), someone in the comments always goes "okay but when do they kiss". You go to an action-packed longfic, someone always ends up going "okay but when do they kiss".
Fuck you guys. Actually. This is a silly piano tiles game about Hatsune Miku, we should be one of the MOST CREATIVE fandoms in history and somehow people still get mad over two boys not kissing immediately after getting introduced. It's so fucking difficult being a content creator in this fandom because you always end up having to take the same route. They meet they tease they kiss. End of story. "Oh you're doing something "lame" instead? -1 kudo. Bring me my yaoi next🖕"
#mine ☜#project sekai#pjsk#pjsekai#prsk#to the people that made 90% of the content of a specific ship. you guys are doing god's work. thank you guys.#every time someone posts a mmj or a l/n fic without including other units an angel grows their wings back.#this is about me btw. this is me taking my fucking anger out because Ruikasa has made me have writers block 2 times now.#FOR MONTHS. “oh this is a cool idea it would showcase their dynamic well and be a good character analysis to match” “kiss scene whennn”#“*flips table and leaves*”#guys i wish i could be stronger but this is it for me. i am so fucking tired.#obviously Ruikasa is a good ship obviously you can like whatever you want you're free to write and read about boys kissing and being sweet#I won't stop you you can do what you want forever. but god fucking dammit.

He couldn’t hold his tears back. His hand laid on their cheek – they looked at him almost the same way they always looked, their expression cold, neutral, if it wasn’t for the discrete, practically unnoticeable tension of their features. Sorriness. They were sorry. He could feel it as if it was his own heart tightening in his chest.
Oh, how bad he wished to tell them they didn’t have to be sorry. That it wasn’t their fault. But he couldn’t let his mind linger on the feeling without addressing every other hurt. There was so much to say. And no words to describe the loneliness and despair stabbing at every part of his body and mind. It was cryogenic liquid burning his insides. Pressing against his lungs until he would choke. And it was imprisoned in his core, chained to his soul and wrapped in satin-like silence.
What was there to do, except to shed every tear he possessed? He couldn’t imagine any single way to describe it. He could only cry and scream for all of eternity in a desperate attempt to relieve the monster clawing at his heart. But even then, his eyes would dry up and his breath would go missing before the ache would subside. And it would never be enough.
He wondered when did they stop crying. He wished he has known. He wished he has been here for them sooner; before they grew used to it. But he knew even then, he couldn’t have fixed it. Just like he couldn’t now. There was no escaping it.
“You’re…” He started before choking up a sob. Looking up at them and to the ground again as he felt himself tremble and struggled to articulate the words. “You’re in… so… much… pain…!”
Two hands came up to cup his face and tilt it up as he kept crying and crying. He couldn’t stand so much sorrow. How could they? How had they been able to keep going when their chest weighted heavier than a cold star?
When he looked at them again, a smile lit up weakly on their face, and inside of him, he felt the tiniest warmth spark – so small compared to the cold and the darkness that tried to engulf it, but so, so powerful. His gaze was frantic, desperately searching for a way to keep this relief – or was it love? – alive. For a way to make it grow big enough to eclipse the hurt forever. But there wasn’t such thing. There would never be.
His face twisted into a pained frown as he felt both of their thumbs wipe away his tears – trying to reassure him, trying to keep the misery at bay, to hide it away from him – and their eyes bore into his.
“Hush.” They smiled gently. “No reasons to cry. There will be brightness forward.”
They said it with this distant, hesitating hope that they were right. Like they refused to believe it too much. In case they would be wrong.
With all the grief and ache of their pierced heart, they looked at him like they were going to make things better, and they whispered.
“The past is behind us. We need to keep moving. Otherwise we won’t see the beauty ahead.”
And oh. He loved them. More than ever, he loved them.
#i've been obsessed with this particular trope/dynamic(?) for DAYS#so uh ye i tried to make something out of it#not fandom related because i didn't Feel Like It so just slap whatever characters you want onto it#or try to imagine how those characters would be idk <3#after writing about 'what happens if someone experienced The Entire World all at once through the internet' i am back with a new question#called 'what happens when a chronically traumatized character have their feelings projected into a character clueless of their struggles'#hurt/comfort#kinda?#i guess??#projecting#yeah this is absolutely projecting yeeaaahhhhh#teehee <3#whispers from atlantis#writing prompt#creative writing#writing#writer#writeblr#writerscommunity#writers on tumblr#writers#writing exercise

the real reason i don't do spirk to mcspirk that often is because the idea of being a second pick bothers me so deeply and terribly that i would prefer not to be with someone at all. you love me or you don't. what does it say if you're happy in a relationship without me and then eventually something happens and you're like, oh, our friend, yeah we should probably love her as well. i don't want to be wanted like that, and the idea of being wanted like that makes me want to never be wanted at all, makes me want to disappear forever and never let a hand touch me, never let a hand catch me - better to never be held with love at all then to be held like that. and what does that mean for kirk and spock? to learn to love a thing too late? to be too blind to what's in front of them? to hurt someone they're supposed to love? better to swallow their love for him like poison than let it seep out and kill the friendship they already have. it's too late! it's too late. you made your choice and you can't go back. why would you ever want to be a second choice? the person left behind, waiting, hoping they come back for you? i am taking the choice away from you, i am turning away from you, i am telling you that this isn't love, i am telling you that i don't love you back. i will choke to death on my own bloodied, swallowed words of love before i ever let myself want you like that.
anyway yeah that's why i don't usually write spirk to mcspirk unless spirk is already REAL FREAKS about mccoy. like they have to be insanely obsessed with that man before they're in a relationship or it just doesn't work for me.
also i'm aware i clearly have some deep-seated issues about this lmao, but i genuinely don't know what they're from!!! but they're DEEP AND THEY ARE EVER PRESENT lmaoooooooo
[and like: i cannot stress enough????? i am just laughing about MY issues, i am absolutely not saying other ppl shouldn't write that!!! this is more me just being like lmao why does that make my ears ring and my vision blurry when i see it???? haha isn't that weird????]
#like i know this is THEE most popular mcspirk dynamic and i am not trying to harsh it just trying to put into words why EYE don't like it#like if i ever wrote that type of spirk to mcspirk. it would not be a happy story. i cannot imagine mccoy okay with being loved like that.#now granted i am VERY clearly projecting my for SOME reason (i genuinely don't why) EXTREME baggage about this onto him!!!#and the beauty of stories is that we all get to interpret characters different ways!!! but oh. it makes me want to run far and forever.#and if i ever tried to write that standard type of spirk to mcspirk fic that is what we'd have to do. he'd run.#because they'd have ruined it before it ever began. he'd run and he'd claw and he'd shatter before letting them catch him.#anyway that's why most of my mcspirk is them getting together at the same time lmao#and why the times i've written spirk to mcspirk i've written it a very specific way. because it's the only way that i can write it#how unhinged is it to say that even thinking about this has made my chest tight?????#i really should figure out why this bothers me so much lmao??????? oh well. oh well!!!!#mine

Ok I'm having Joshua mental illness get hit with the me making bullshit up beam boy you could be so interesting if we try hard enough
#rat rambles#oni posting#like look at me look deep into my eyes what if his morals arent much better than some of his peers#I dont want joshua to be a bad person but theres room for him to be a very messy and interesting one#like imagine him being like genuinely loyal to jackie and her causes#but like as time goes on and shit gets worse it leads to him having to pick and choose his loyaties and who he stands by#like I just think itd be interesting if given the choice of siding with jackie or ellie he would choose jackie#not that I think ellie has great morals or whatever herself but I have little doubt that she wasnt also beinh treated like shit later on#plus I like the spice of adding more ppl to the employees who got dissapeared pile#adds to the desperate scramble feeling of late stage gravitas#but yeah I think joshua would rly rly want to keep ellie safe and not lose her as a friend but I like to imagine a world where he struggles#with that because of his own flaws as opposed to ellies#idk it just would add more to their dynamic and to joshua's non-existent character lol#like at least we see ellie involved in different enviorments joshua we see solely in casual friendly conversation#cause like he and ellie have the same job so theoretically he could know everything ellie knows abt the going ons in gravitas#which is likely quite a bit given that ellie likely is at least vaguely aware of the duplicant project#you see Im just a guy whos overly invested in joshua ellie and nikola as a trio who parallel eachother even tho nikola is only tied to them#through One email abt him stealing one of their lunches#tbf I also like thinking abt other characters late stage gravitas moments but those three are most interesting to me personally#and its pretty much entirely because of ellie and nikola being jackie's lackeys lol#and yknow what joshua deseves to be in on the fun lets get someone whos not blond in the mix#two shitty assholes and a joshua who isnt quite a shitty asshole but still isnt much better

Andrus Laansalu talked about making Disco Elysium at EKA (Estonian Academy of Arts)
"Initially, the church wasn't a focal point. There were certain characters that needed to visit this location, and I asked, "Seriously, what do we have in our church?" The others replied, "Nothing at all. Our church is completely bare—just a wheel, really. It's quite basic."
That's when I decided to unleash my creativity in the design. For example, they chose to install a glass structure at the top of the church to create a reflective surface. It was like placing an optical clock up there. Therefore, one of the most crucial aspects of designing the church was ensuring the lighting was just right to create the desired atmosphere."
"Let me show you an example of Baroque architecture, which is rich in detail. We're also designing the interior of the church based on large cathedrals. However, the foundation you use might not yield the expected results, because the church itself doesn't require such intricate details. Sometimes, it's about simplifying the design."
"I used Articy for the initial scriptwriting of Disco Elysium. The image only represents a tiny fraction of the text and choice variables involved. This system was also the reason I eventually abandoned the project after a year of outlining the script and shifted my focus to becoming a sound designer. My mind struggled to keep up with the dynamic graphic rules, but fortunately, a more talented writer took over afterward."
"In terms of sound design, it's essential to develop different layers to bring out the charm of the church as a cohesive space. Although this represents only a small portion of the overall design, each layer actually requires a significant amount of time to compose the whole....... Whenever there's a shift or a change due to the dialogue itself, you need to adjust the background sounds. Each time you modify the details in the dialogue, I have to refine the background audio, ensuring that these elements build upon each other like an intricate layer of work."
"It's funny how many scenes involve characters getting smacked in the face. My job was to recreate those, so I locked myself in the bathroom with a recorder and hit my forehead until it turned red.
As a sound designer, I really dig those unsettling, drill-like sounds. So, I mixed in creepy lectures, metal scraping, moans, and cries of pain—because I just love that stuff! (laughs)
Players will be moving through all kinds of areas, so it's super important to make the sound transitions feel natural, trying to create a more immersive vibe in certain spaces.
With all the scenes featuring big cranes, you can hear them from far away, and I wanted to capture that eerie ringing in your ears. That's going to be a thing throughout most of the game. I've found ways to really mess with players while they're playing!"
"I've come across a lot of old objects (like phones and radios) that I needed to perfectly replicate the sounds. I started to become a bit of a hoarder, buying up different models of old phones whenever I found one to add to my collection. The sound effects I can simulate from them are really impressive."
"Some of the devices don't actually exist in real life—just a mix of architecture and tech. When I need to create sound effects, I first look for something similar that exists in our world, then I try to simulate what the sound and appearance of that thing might have been like a century ago.
Towards the end of the game, there's a character carrying a fuel canister. We needed the sound of the canister, so we dug one up from our garage—it had been sitting there since it was five! I realized this would make the sound perfect. So, it had been there for 50 years, and after 40 years, it finally found its purpose.
In some places, I needed unique sound waves, and recreating them was a real headache until one day I happened to walk by a swimming pool and stumbled upon an old wartime torpedo. You can rotate the torpedo's probe, and it slowly rises up, like a proud zombie head. The sounds it made were exactly what I needed!"
🙋How did you manage to get funding?
"Well, since we're in Estonia, you just need to know a wealthy person. You don't need five people—just two who can network, hang out together, and convince them to keep investing! (laughs) Back then, we constantly ran out of money and would tell them, 'Oops, looks like we spent it all! Can you invest a bit more?' That's how we made it through!"
🙋How did you all come together to make the game?
"Luck. It usually doesn't happen this way, and that's the key difference. It has to be. If not, you couldn't create a game of this scale - well, I mean in terms of budget. But creatively, Estonia definitely has writers and artists who can pull it off. With such a small population, there are a lot of quirky folks who are good friends. We were really lucky, though - lots of fortunate circumstances came together. It brought the right people together, allowing those talented fools to collaborate with us. They had experience but hadn't tackled projects of this magnitude before. So yeah, luck is pretty important!"
Lecture experience shared by 白兔YIYANG SUN on 红书, reposted & translated by me with her permission.

I urgently needed to talk about the last scene between Sonic and Shadow in the third movie, because I think what they did is simply beautiful. 🥹💙❤️🖤

Before Sonic 3 came out, there was debate over who would be the one to change Shadow's mind since at that point, there was no solid indication that Amy or Rouge would appear. I was a fan of the idea that maybe they'd have Jojo be the one to remind Shadow of Maria's wish, since she was an established character from the start and fits the profile like a cheerful, caring, and optimistic girl.
However, seeing that in the end they made it so that Sonic was the one who talked to Shadow and convinced him to fight to save the world, surprised me and at the same time fascinated me infinitely more. Because they managed to make the change organic by connecting it with narrative elements that were also raised and developed from the beginning; Sonic's grief over losing Longclaw and his paternal relationship with Tom, making this moment something special and significant for both of them:
It is a moment of connection and understanding between two people who have lost the person who was once the most important in their lives, who loved them when no one else did and gave them a home,
That for a long time they had to deal alone with the pain and guilt of having been the trigger for their deaths but, as they emphasize in the film, While Sonic was able to find a family that would love him and help him get better and cope with that pain, Shadow was alone and the only person he interacted with after awakening, only manipulated him in order to fulfill his revenge.
Until this moment, where Shadow finally meets someone who not only knows his pain perfectly but has also learned to move forward and not let it corrupt him even in the most difficult moments, and who in turn motivates him to do the same.
All of this contributes fantastically to their connection, as it is no longer just that their personalities and ways of acting are opposite, but also the way in which their stories correlate and at the same time distinguish each other, creating a new and emotional parallelism between them: They are two sides of the same coin, two extremes that ultimately come together to bring out the best in each other.
Which is beautifully reflected throughout the final battle. Sonic and Shadow display effortless synergy, supporting each other, backing each other up, and even casually joking around.
A good reminder of the great chemistry and dynamism they used to have years ago. Unlike now that they make it seem like Shadow barely tolerates Sonic, before they both had a friendly rivalry where they respected each other, valued each other and helped each other without problem. And I'm really glad the movie brought back some of that dynamic and reflected it in such a natural and fun way, and I hope that continues for future SCU projects instead of sticking to the current direction.
And I'm not just saying this because I'm a fan of Sonadow, but because I genuinely believe that this is the most natural direction for their relationship after all this time.

"I think the cycle only ends when you find the will to walk away."
Got a lot of Q's for this in my inbox. Figured I'd just address them here.
tw: mentions of suicide, suicidal ideation
Re: the ending of S2:
Jinx did not die.
She symbolically killed her old self, and with it, her last ties to the past that imprisoned her. She understood that for her sister to move on and live her life - be happy without guilt - she'd have to renounce the bonds that held them together.
Her talk with ghostly Silco was the 'sign-off' she'd been waiting for, ever his dutiful daughter. Throughout S2, she kept hoping he'd haunt her, and in doing so, offer some impetus given her aimlessness. Maybe just straight up boss her around, and tell her how she's supposed to exist now that he's no longer there to be a (subversive if loving) guiding hand.
But it was the promise of time (as represented by Ekko) healing old wounds, and the courage to feel, as she once had - a hopeful child with a hopeful future - that allowed Jinx to commit impetus to action.
Her blimp-ship in the climactic battle is a tribute to Isha - but also to the child in Jinx's own fractured psyche: Powder. She's letting both little girls have one last hurrah before she takes care of business - and cuts off the last oaths, duties and commitments that bind her to a past whose parameters she's outgrown.
Better still, she knows she's got the capacity to outgrow them.
That was the point of Jinx's arc with Isha, and why, no matter my misgivings on Isha's character herself, I found Jinx's trajectory towards a more nurturing and fun-loving figure more life-affirming and positive than the straightforward 'Daddy's Villain Goes Postal' shtick.
It's even why there's a minigame titled Jinx Fixes Everything. It's Jinx, struggling and stumbling, as she tries to rewrite her narrative, and finds in herself the capacity to do good.
To fix things that seem irreparably broken.
And to understand why she's reached this stage, we've got to let go of our tendency to project our own stuff onto Jinx (precious meow meow, unrepentant terrorist, manic pixie crazypants, edgy hot psycho) and acknowledge the purpose she plays in Arcane's thematic structure.
Jinx's character comes off as a death-seeker, and that's no shocker. She is hounded by terrible guilt and loss. She's got blood on her hands, and ghosts on her heels, and no matter what she does, she can't seem to be rid of them. Her inner mind's fractured, her mannerisms ooze pure chaos, and she seems a creature of pure feral impulse and no mercy.
That's the Jinx we're accustomed to seeing in S1 - except that's also both the front she's most likely to put on during that timeline, and the persona that is necessary for her to inhabit to survive, as Silco's daughter and his top enforcer.
Then Silco kicks the bucket, she symbolically fulfills his dream by shooting at the Council HQ, she accepts that she must inhabit this path of shadows and loneliness (as symbolized by her starkly decorated chair in the tea party scene), she accepts the fragmented push-and-pull between past and present, and...
And now what?
Silco's given her a semblance of direction for six years, and he's gone. Vi, the sister she'd hoped would return, and whom she'd hinged so many childishly idealized hopes on, is herself traumatized, and afraid of what her sister's become.
Jinx has her shadows and her loneliness. Jinx is traumatized. Jinx is suicidal.
But Jinx is still, whatever else, alive.
And all living things need connections.
That's why we as the audience enjoy her little found family dynamic with Isha and Sevika. It's Jinx, taking the first tentative steps to reach out to people beyond Silco and Vi, and realizing, wow, she enjoys the pay-off.
And all throughout S2, we see Jinx growing more and more comfortable in this newfound space - even jealously guarding it at the expense of Zaun's liberty, and Silco's wishes, because she can't bear to lose what she's found.
And what she finds empowers her enough that, when Warwick shows up, she's actually willing to reach out to Vi, and call upon their family connection, because Jinx is learning the value of bonds, not as baling hooks of guilt, but as buoys to carry her forward.
That's the story Jinx's relationships serve to tell in S2. Each one shapes the choice she makes in the finale. Until she learns to accept the past (Vi), to lay the monsters to rest (Silco and Vander/Warwick), forgive herself (Caitlyn) trust that time heals all wounds (Ekko), and hope for happier new beginning (Isha), she'll never trust herself enough to just seize the chance.
Jinx's culminating arc is not about death, much less self-erasure. It's about resurrection, and embracing the sublime chaos of a freed mind, and a lightened spirit. That's what she craves beyond simple death, and what her baptism by fire, blood and riverwater, has been about.
Each trial grinds her down into someone else. Someone new.
Someone closer to who she is meant to be, rather than who she's expected to be.
That's why she's so glad to make the sacrifice for Vi. She's not dying as an act of self-immolation. She's giving her sister - the one who's proven she'll never give up on her - the ultimate gift, and showing Vi that she deserves to live.
She needs Vi to live, so Jinx, the persona, can finally die.
"He (Silco) didn't make Jinx. You did."
She's basically saying, "I love you, I will always be with you, but you are no longer responsible for my actions. Please move forward with your life, and grant me the choice to do the same."
It's two sisters embracing everything they've meant to each other, acknowledging the pain weighing them down on both sides, and welcoming the new so they can each slough off old paradigms and live life as a whole person - or at least take steps to remembering what wholeness feels like.
That's the reason the show's final shots linger on the Hexgate tunnels, Jinx's monkey bomb, and the aircraft.
It's the show's way of reminding us that Jinx has ascended to a different version of her identity - one removed from the past that haunted her. It's Jinx, finally striking out alone, away from the sister whose memory she clung so desperately to, and who was, in turn, horrified by her hand in making Powder a monster (perceived guilt or real, fandom may debate ad nauseum) due to past mistakes and abandonment.
The ending of Arcane isn't tragic. It's deeply hopeful, and serves as a reminder that no matter how damaged you think you are, and no matter how monstrous the world finds you, there are still ways to come back to yourself - or to walk the path toward a new you.
Jinx is symbolized by crows. Jinx is shown with firelights emerging from her mouth. Jinx is depicted holding a torch like Janna ushering in the winds of change.
Thematically, Jinx is change.
And the best way she can embody that change is to write her story, and make it her own.

Aquatic Adventures
Pairing: Oscar Piastri x Felicity Leong-Piastri (Original Character)
Summary: Oscar is gone for a Double Header. Felicity builds a sanctuary.
Notes: Big thanks to @llirawolf , who listens to me ramble 😂 I should have been writing something useful, that brings the plot forwards, but instead you get Felicity and one of. her "projects". It was very fun to write though. I am living vicariously through a character that has pretty much unlimited funds and is more productive than I could ever dream to be.
It started with Bee’s tears.
The kind that didn’t come with wailing or tantrums. No, those were easy. Manageable. A juice box, a cuddle, a nap.
But this was different.
This was the quiet, trembling-lip kind. The kind that crept up after hours of pretending she was fine. The kind that meant something had sunk deep — words or looks or loneliness that a three-year-old didn’t quite know how to explain.
Felicity sat cross-legged on the kitchen floor, Bee curled into her chest like she was trying to fold herself into her mother’s ribs, breath hitching in little bursts. She smelled like sunscreen and finger paint and exhaustion.
“They didn’t want to play with me,” Bee whispered.
Felicity closed her eyes. “Baby…”
“They said my lunch was weird. And I wasn’t funny. And one boy said I was bossy. But I wasn’t even talking to him.”
Felicity kissed the top of her daughter’s head and didn’t say anything for a long time. Just rocked her, slow and rhythmic, like it would fix the cracks.
She felt that slow, cold fury spread through her chest. The quiet kind. The dangerous kind. The kind that made her want to set fire to the entire concept of “socialization” if it meant protecting her daughter
Oscar was on a double header. Back to Back races. Italy, then Monaco. He’d FaceTime in a few hours, would listen and be gentle and say all the right things.
He always did.
But right now, there was just Felicity. And Bee. And the ache in her ribs where her daughter’s grief lived.
By the time she got Bee to bed — two stories, one lullaby, and a full-body cuddle that ended with Bee curled into the duvet like a sea otter — Felicity was pacing barefoot through the kitchen.
The house was silent. The kind of silence you only got in the countryside, where the world pulled back and left you alone with your thoughts.
That had been part of the appeal.
When she and Oscar first bought the farmhouse, it had been for the space. The privacy. The outbuildings — old structures lined up like forgotten train cars behind the main house, tucked among the trees. Oscar had called them “rustic.” Felicity had called them potential.
One became hers — a workspace-slash-garage-slash-creative bunker where she could weld, sand, build, and paint without anyone breathing down her neck.
The second was the gym-slash-ballet studio-slash-sim room, because apparently their household only functioned on wildly specific, multi-use spaces. Felicity had added the barre herself. A space for her to stretch, to remember what it was like to move for herself.
A third had been left alone. It had once housed horses, long before the property had been theirs. Now it was just empty, echoing structure of exposed beams, weathered wood, and potential.
Felicity already knew what she was going to do.
The pool wasn’t a new idea — just one she’d shelved while life took priority. But now… now it felt like something necessary. Not indulgent, not aesthetic, not Pinterest-fluff luxury. No, it felt like armor. A gift. A promise.
Warm water. Floating. Movement without pressure. Gentle light. No sharp echoes. No mean boys. No group dynamics to navigate.
Just Bee. Just peace.
Felicity would build it herself if she had to.
She’d already started the mosaic months ago, half by accident. Ceramic tiles, soft sea-glass colors, arranged in what would become a leaping dolphin. It was supposed to be for a backsplash or an outdoor table. But now she knew exactly where it belonged.
She padded into the spare room that doubled as storage and gently rolled out the canvas — the dolphin, tail sweeping upward, water droplets in pale aquamarine and cobalt. She touched one of the tiles absently, her fingers steady.
Bee would love this.
She always loved dolphins. Said they were the smartest. The kindest.
That night, Felicity opened the plans she’d drawn up nearly a year ago. A fantasy project. Something she hadn’t told anyone about. Not even Oscar.
It wasn’t going to be a sleek, marble-lined infinity pool. Not some Instagram-glossy wellness sanctuary.
It was going to be Bee’s.
Quiet. Safe. Warm all year round. A sanctuary with soft lighting and temperature-controlled floors. A place where she could float and splash and forget the world existed. A pool built like a hug.
It hadn’t been real until now. But that night, with Bee’s breath soft and even in the room beside her, Felicity started making calls.
Permits. Contractors. Heating systems. A specialist in skylights.
She didn’t tell Oscar.
Not yet.
Because this wasn’t about practicality, or budget, or even architectural ambition.
It was about Bee.
It was about building something so full of love that it drowned out the noise of the world.
***
Felicity Piastri did not throw tantrums.
She’d been raised not to.
She had been born a Leong.
She had been raised to wield silence like a scalpel, money like a weapon, and intellect like a blueprint.
Felicity did not raise her voice. She did not beg. She planned.
She might have stepped away from the world she was born into — from the emerald heirlooms, the art collction, the social calendars managed by secretaries — but that world had trained her.
And when she needed it, she still spoke its language fluently.
The pool was going to be built in ten days.
Not estimated. Not quoted.
Done.
She had the property. She had the design. She had the permits already prepped — half because she liked being prepared, half because, deep down, she’d known something like this might happen.
She started with one contractor.
He told her twelve weeks minimum.
She said, “No,” and called his boss.
The boss said the same thing.
So she called someone else. Then someone else. And then she made a few international calls — to a construction firm her aunt’s interior designer once used back in the day for a rooftop terrace in Dubai.
By 8 a.m. the next morning, there were three project managers in her driveway, holding reusable coffee cups and measuring tapes.
She wielded her iPad like a weapon. Spreadsheets color-coded. Timeline stacked. Materials sourced from three different suppliers. Overnight shipping arranged. When one contractor so much as suggested that “it might be more realistic to give it a few weeks,” Felicity smiled sweetly and said:
“Would you like me to call someone else?”
Felicity didn’t raise her voice. She didn’t threaten. She negotiated.
She offered more money up front.
She offered bonuses for every milestone completed ahead of time. She cross-referenced three local contractors to cover shifts in 24-hour rotations. She arranged permits to be processed at double speed — because it turns out, local councils moved very quickly when the right legal phrasing and legacy donations were involved.
She even hired a private catering service to feed the crew.
By the second day, the old concrete had been ripped up. On day three, the beams were reinforced. On day four, the heating system was being installed and a special-order shipment of light blue tiles had landed from Italy.
Oscar texted once from Monaco asking how things were going at home.
She sent back a photo of Bee asleep in her lap and didn’t mention the fact that there were currently four men digging a trench for the overflow piping system just outside the window.
Her phone never left her side.
She paced the hallways in socks and one of Oscar’s hoodies, laptop under one arm, toddler on her hip, telling one man where to reposition the skylight and another which grout colors were acceptable and which were absolutely not.
She FaceTimed a mosaicist in Vienna to double-check adhesive drying times and personally called a logistics company in Dublin to charter a truck for the filtration system.
On day seven, she brought in fresh pastries for the entire crew and reminded the night shift foreman about the performance bonus.
On day eight, she caught one worker trying to substitute the dolphin mosaic placement.
She handed him a cappuccino and then gently, systematically, explained why that dolphin was going exactly where she wanted it — because her daughter had once drawn a picture where the dolphin was jumping just there.
The man never argued again.
By day ten, the pool was done.
And not just finished. Perfect.
Temperature-controlled. Skylit. Lined with handmade mosaic tiles. Soundproofed. A shelf for toys. A warm rinse-off shower with custom water pressure controls. A soft corner bench where Felicity could read while Bee splashed.
An oasis.
A fortress.
A love letter carved in glass, water, and tile.
***
It was quiet.
Not silent — there was a hum from the heating system, the soft ripple of water against the tile, the occasional creak of timber beams overhead — but the kind of quiet that felt sacred. Like the world had taken a step back to let them breathe.
Bee stood on the edge of the shallow shelf, wrapped in a tiny robe with a dolphin embroidered over the heart. Her hair was pulled into a lopsided ponytail, still sleep-soft, and she was clutching her purple goggles like they were a magic talisman.
She blinked up at her mother.
“This is ours?” she asked, voice barely above a whisper.
Felicity crouched beside her, brushing a curl from her daughter’s cheek. “All ours.”
Bee took another step closer to the pool, bare toes curling against the warm tile. She was still in awe, still trying to process it, eyes wide as saucers as she took in the soft blue tiles, the underwater lights casting golden ripples across the ceiling, the dolphin mosaic swimming in joyful motion across the far wall.
“He’s jumping,” she said, pointing to the dolphin. “Like in my drawing.”
Felicity smiled. “Exactly like your drawing.”
Bee looked down at the water. Then up at Felicity. Then back again.
“Can I go in?”
Felicity didn’t answer. She just held out her arms.
Bee squealed — a real, unburdened sound — and wriggled out of her robe, revealing a bright swimsuit with little yellow fish all over it. She clambered onto the first step, then the second, and then launched herself into her mother’s waiting arms like she’d never had a bad day in her life.
The water welcomed them. Warm, clean, still.
Felicity caught her easily, arms strong, body steady as she sank into the shallow end with Bee held against her chest. Her daughter’s giggles echoed gently off the walls — not loud, not wild, just happy.
The good kind. The healing kind.
“You made this,” Bee whispered after a long moment, eyes full of wonder. “For me.”
Felicity kissed her wet hair. “For us.”
Bee kicked gently, floating with Felicity’s hands under her back. The skylight above filtered in soft afternoon light, catching in the beads of water on her cheeks.
“I don’t think it’ll ever feel bad in here,” Bee said after a while.
Felicity blinked back something sharp behind her eyes. “That’s the point, sweetheart.”
Bee didn’t say anything after that. Just floated.
And Felicity, for the first time in days, let herself breathe.
She held her daughter close. She watched the light dance over the water. She ran one hand through the still-warm surface and felt the ripple carry all the way to the walls — like a promise.
They stayed there until the light changed.
Until Bee’s hair was damp and curling and her eyelids fluttered and she murmured “mama, carry” in a drowsy voice that made Felicity’s chest ache with love.
***
Oscar Piastri was used to coming home to chaos.
Not bad chaos — just the kind that came with Felicity and Bee. Small socks everywhere. A kitchen that looked like it had hosted a baking competition. Doodles taped to the fridge. A Sim rig covered in stickers. A house that was clearly lived in — loved in.
It was his favorite thing in the world.
But this time, the house was… quiet.
He rolled his suitcase down the hall and dropped his backpack by the bench in the entryway. “Fliss?”
No answer. Just the soft hum of the air vents and the smell of lavender and something faintly like salt. His brows furrowed.
He checked the kitchen — no one. The living room — empty, except for a plush dolphin wearing sunglasses.
Then he noticed it: the sliding doors at the back of the house, the ones that led toward the old stables.
One of them was slightly ajar.
Oscar stepped outside, following the faint sound of splashing water. The air was warm, windless. The gravel underfoot shifted as he walked across the path between the outbuildings.
He hadn’t been in the third one in months.
Last he checked, it was still full of unused storage crates and the old treadmill Felicity swore she’d list for pickup.
But the door was open.
He stepped inside.
Stopped.
And blinked.
The stable was gone.
In its place was a pool.
A full, glowing, indoor mosaic-lined oasis with warm lighting, soft acoustics, and — holy shit — was that a skylight!? The air was warm and damp in that gentle, spa-like way, and the walls looked like something out of an architecture magazine.
In the water, half-floating and curled together like sea otters, were his wife and daughter.
Felicity looked up first. She was sitting in the shallow end, hair braided over one shoulder, wearing one of his old t-shirts knotted at the waist and a black bikini bottom. Bee was curled into her lap, her damp curls sticking to her forehead.
Oscar blinked again. “I’ve been gone for two weeks.”
Felicity smiled. “Hi, love.”
Bee perked up immediately. “Papa!” she chirped, scrambling up and doggy-paddling to the edge like a very determined duck.
He dropped to his knees as she launched herself into his arms, wet and squealing and happy.
“We have a pool,” he said, slightly stunned.
Bee beamed. “Mama built it!”
Oscar looked past her, over her shoulder, toward Felicity — who had stood up, water lapping at her calves, and was walking over with that serene, slightly guilty expression she always wore when she’d pulled something massive off and hadn’t warned him first.
“You built a pool,” he said again, a little dazed, like repeating it might make it make more sense.
Felicity reached the edge and leaned her arms on the side, the water rippling around her. Her braid dripped onto the tiles. Her expression was unreadable — half sheepish, half composed, like she knew exactly what she’d done and was only 50% sorry.
“I had the plans ready,” she said. “And the permits. And the contractor contacts. It was going to happen eventually.”
“But you did it in… what, ten days?” Oscar looked around again, like the room might vanish. “There’s a skylight, Fliss.”
Bee, still wrapped around him like a koala, nodded helpfully. “And there’s dolphins!”
“There are dolphins,” Oscar repeated, mouth dry.
He caught sight of the mosaic — the dolphin mid-jump across the far wall, surrounded by sea-glass tiles that shimmered like actual sunlight on water.
Oscar blinked again. “Jesus Christ.”
Felicity’s smile curved slightly. “That’s not his name, love.”
Oscar just stared at her. At her damp hair, her flushed cheeks, the tiny tired lines at the corners of her eyes that only ever showed up when she’d done something monumental and wasn’t sure if she’d get away with it.
He looked at Bee, who was now patting his cheeks with both hands and saying, “It’s warm and it smells like clouds,” which made absolutely no scientific sense and somehow still felt like an accurate description.
He swallowed.
“You built a sanctuary,” he said quietly. “While I was gone.”
Felicity didn’t say anything for a moment. Just rested her chin on her arms, her eyes soft.
“She was having a hard week,” she murmured. “And I couldn’t fix the world. But I could do this.”
Oscar pressed his lips to Bee’s hair, held her closer, and closed his eyes for a second.
Then he looked back at his wife.
And said — with all the love and awe and overwhelmed, dizzy affection in the world:
“I love you so much.”
Felicity blinked. Her mouth twitched. “Even though I didn't warn you?”
“Fliss,” he said, laughing, “you built a pool. In secret. With heating and acoustics and mood lighting. For our three-year-old.”
She tilted her head. “That’s not a no.”
“It’s a hell yes,” he said. Then looked around again and added, “I mean, I thought the bathroom reno during a triple header was bold, but this…”
Bee tugged his sleeve. “Daddy? Can you come swim?”
Oscar kissed her forehead. “Absolutely, sweetheart. Just give me one second.”
He set her down gently, watched her paddle happily back to the steps, then turned to Felicity and offered a hand. She took it, confused — and he pulled her up, wet and blinking and surprised, straight into his arms.
He kissed her like they were back at Haileybury. Like she’d just walked into the common room in his hoodie and undone him with one look.
“I can’t believe you,” he said against her lips.
She smiled. “You always say that when I surprise you.”
“This isn’t a surprise. This is a Bond villain level plot twist.”
Felicity shrugged. “You married me.”
He shook his head, completely smitten. “Best decision I ever made.”
Behind them, Bee was making dolphin sounds and trying to do somersaults.
Oscar grinned, forehead resting against Felicity’s. “Next time you secretly build a swimming facility in ten days, just… I don’t know. Text me first?”
She laughed softly. “Deal.”
“Also—” He kissed her again, warm and slow. “I love you. Have I mentioned that?”
Felicity’s voice dropped to a whisper. “Not recently.”
“Right,” Oscar said. “I love you.”
Then he toed off his socks, pulled off his shirt, and cannonballed into the pool like a six-year-old.
Bee screamed with delight.
Felicity covered her face with both hands — but she was laughing.
And Oscar, floating on his back in the water she built with her bare hands and brain and fury-love, thought:
This is what home feels like.
Her. Bee. And everything they build together.

I would love to see your headcanons for who's the most to least likely to sub for their partner! Whatever characters of your choice <3
hii!! this was honestly so fun to write :P these lowkey are kind of like a scenario split into hcs, idk why but that's just how my brain decided to go about it lol.
they're in order from most to least likely to sub :P also the prompt i worked with as a base for these is basically the reader bringing it up to them while in a relationship. i found it worked better than just writing who would do it voluntarily (because they wouldn't i'm afraid 💀). also also, gn partner!
enjoy!! <3
Creepypasta Submissive Headcanons (NSFW)

CW: dom/sub dynamics, a bit of brat taming?, degradation, a bit of bondage, spit, orgasm control/edging, dubcon at the end, oral (giving and receiving for both the characters and the reader), slight mention of trauma but nothing explicit
BEN Drowned
모 sex with him is generally you centric because he's always geeked off that grass and uses that as an excuse to be lazy and lay back while you ride his face and use his dick—he gets off anyway, so might as well let you do the work under the pretense of "Yeah babe you can use me, empowerment or whatever."
모 so when you bring up domming him, he doesn't even think twice about it. goes into it thinking it's just regular sex but on steroids. not because he's blind to what it means—he's been inside the internet, he's seen shit—but because it's you. and what will you do.
모 there would be a tiny brat-dom dynamic by default because, yeah he's down for whatever you bring up, but he cannot take it fully seriously. kind of difficult to do that when you're baked like a pastry.
모 you want him to address you with a superior nickname? "yes ma'am/sir/master" but he's rolling his eyes and sporting a shit eating grin the entire time because he thinks it's comical.
모 you demand that he doesn't jerk off unless you tell him to? definitely does it when he's nose deep between your legs just to see what you do about it. "What?? It's muscle memory babe, don't pretend it's not hot."
모 genuinely huffing and puffing if you tied his hands behind his back and edged him as punishment. talking shit up until the point he's twitching and rutting in the air when you stop touching him. then it's:
"Holy shit, OKAY I'm sorry, fuck, I'm sorry, just— babe-master, I'm getting dick cramps, come on,"
모 refuses to beg for about 10 seconds total. the moment you tease him again, "Ohhh my fucking god, please fuck me, please, I can't take this anymore, PLEASE make me cum".
모 balls deep inside you and choking on mindless thanks, making these broken, indignant whines if you told him to slow down.
모 all in all, however, he would be into it more than he expected. it doesn't become default freaky time because he does not have that kind of energy, but when it happens again, he'd lay off the brattiness.
모 aftercare is basically non-existent. he doesn't need it, he would just spark up again and hop on the game, but if you felt like you needed it, it would be more quality time than cuddles.
Toby Rodgers
𓌏 he's lowkey a closeted switch disguised as a feral fuck machine so when you bring it up he gets lowkey defensive, he feels CLOCKED.
𓌏 "What, s-so I don't fuh-fuck you good? That it?" "Is this a con-control thing? You want a-an excuse t-to bully me?" full 7 stages of grief like huh?
𓌏 eventually agrees grudgingly which, in other words, means he was fiending for this shit forever but he never surpassed preteen emotional maturity. so, coming to terms with being bossed around was a project in erosion (thanks Slender).
𓌏 he's acting like a stray dog at first, defenses up so high that you have to break character and remind him it's still just you and if he doesn't like something he can just tell you. didn't even establish a safe word because you thought this was going to fail from the start.
𓌏 it takes approximately 5 minutes of you easing him into it with gentle authority assertion until he melts and starts begging, just like that. you're half-way into calling him a good boy for making eye contact when you asked, and he's already whining.
𓌏 you specifically avoid degradation because you don't wanna push it. however, "Are you gonna be a good boy and stay still while I suck you off?" is exactly the moment where the puzzle pieces fall into place for him.
𓌏 "Yes, I'll— f-fuck I'll be the b-best fucking slut f-for you, please," oh okay. i thought we were— alright??
𓌏 barely a decent slut for you, canNOT stay still, but he tries. kind of. hips thrusting up too excitedly, cockhead ramming so hard in the back of your throat that you basically feel the bruise forming in real time. "S-shit, fuck, I'm sorry— I-I'm sorry, it's a t-tic, please d-don't stop." lies.
𓌏 quickly discovers he likes begging with his mouth full. your fingers, your underwear, you, anything. choking on messy “pl-please, c’n I cum, I’ll be g-good, I swear", so needy you would confuse his pleas for the begging of his victims.
𓌏 hot take or not, slight mommy/daddy kink. obvious reasons.
𓌏 so obnoxiously loud when you start degrading him. "You're that much of a worthless mutt? You can't even take what I give you and you're expecting me to let you cum?" groaning, whining, eyes glassy and mouth snarling like he's in pain, voice cracking when you have a hand around his throat, or a foot on his chest.
𓌏 when you finally let him cum, he sobs actual tears. voice breaking and wheezing from how begging in guttural groans scratched his throat the entire time. spit dripping down his neck from the gash in his cheek. whole body convulsing and tics flaring up like crazy. you can barely even hear the thanks he whispers breathlessly.
𓌏 so quick to clean his cum out of you if you asked.
𓌏 aftercare consists of him completely limp on top of you while you detangle his sweaty hair, muttering little praises in his ear, which he petulantly grunts away like you didn't just reduce him to whimpering mush.
Eyeless Jack
⚉ he's a predator by nature, so subbing isn't exactly something that's ever crossed his mind. but the thing with Jack is, he doesn't just do relationships. if you're partners, you're really fucking special to him, and by proxy he would jump into it just because he's devoted. so, your answer would be a short, certain "...Alright."
⚉ he's surprisingly a very good sport about it. the second you put your hand on his chest and push him down, he goes easy. obedient. no passive aggressiveness, no brattiness, no "I could flip this on you so quick". he just watches you from where he's propped up on his elbows with this unreadable expression like he's waiting for you to take him apart and it doesn’t even bruise his pride.
⚉ doesn’t beg, doesn’t whimper, doesn’t plead. but the second you tell him to stay still and open his mouth, he does. you’ll straddle his chest and he just tilts his head back, mouth parting obediently, waiting for your fingers, your taste, anything.
⚉ he'll sit and take whatever you give him, answers everything with short, respectful answers like it's something sacred. "You like being used, big boy?" "Yes, ma'am/sir." the only sign he’s into it is how fucking hard he gets from just serving you.
⚉ at one point you slap his hand away when he tries to jerk off without permission and he just freezes. like a dog being told to stay. stares at you with wide sockets and says, “...Apologies.” voice low, like it’s actually sincere.
⚉ takes edging mostly unphased, only grunting when you stop to watch his leaking cock twitch helplessly on his stomach. the restraint is borderline terrifying. HOWEVER, by the 5th, 6th time, he's panting, thighs shaking, hips thrusting in the air purely out of instinct.
⚉ you tie his wrists behind his back just for fun, and the moment you straddle him, his whole body tenses like a loaded weapon. he doesn't dare move until you tell him to. when you finally lean back and put your hands on his knees for leverage while riding him—bouncing, relentless—he jerks his hands against the ties, teeth bared in a hiss.
⚉ doesn't need praise, didn't react to it the entire time, but the moment you start huffing out little "so big, so obedient, such a good fucking toy for me" while he's balls deep inside you, his chest ruptures with a growl.
⚉ the only real, shaken reaction you'll get out of him is when you give him permission to cum. chokes on a growl, snarls "yes, fuck yes, yes—" through gritted teeth and starts pistoning into you from below.
⚉ doesn't need aftercare, but he just lays there with you like he’s resting after a blood ritual. no words. no movement. you curl into him and he shifts just enough to wrap an arm around your waist. breathes in slow, reverent, like he’d let you kill him if you wanted.

☹ bringing it up to him in a conversation would go south quickly. sex with him generally feels impersonal and more like a vessel for frustration, regardless of how long you have been together. letting his guard down is off the table.
☹ unless you manage to sneak it into the rare instance where he's allowing himself to relax just enough to soften a bit. where he kisses you slowly while stroking your back under the covers and his body succumbs to your gentleness, instead of crashing his mouth into yours with clenched teeth and shoving his hand in your underwear like fucking you as urgently as possible would take the weight off his shoulders.
☹ starting slow would be the best course of action. gently guiding his face to the side to drag your lips down his neck, feeling him through his shirt while whispering into his skin. "Relax, let me take care of you", "Let me take these off, baby", "Lift your hips for me."
☹ looks at you with these wary eyes and parted lips like he's so torn. but he lets you. lets you undress him, lets you get on top of him to kiss down his chest, down his stomach. lets you lick up his shaft instead of grabbing your hair and guiding you to take him in your mouth right off the bat. even fights himself to keep still and not rush you when you start teasing him.
☹ "So good for me, baby" while stroking from the base up and licking around his tip? he whimpers. genuine, meek, like that's enough to crack him open.
☹ hands will eventually fly to your hair on instinct. you'll grab his wrists and set them down back at his sides, not forcing them down but just holding your hands over them to remind. he wouldn't squirm, but he would tense. and "be a good boy for me and i'll give you what you want, okay?" is enough to get him biting his lip and breathe harder.
☹ the more you give, the more he gives back like it's natural. you take him deeper, relax your throat and let his cock slide down slowly, he groans so deep you can barely hear the "fffuck yes, thank you," but it's there. small and new and unsure, but coming out without resistance.
☹ praise, for anything and everything, and he melts into a puddle of breathy moans and shaking thighs. "Look at you, you look so fucking good on your knees for me" and his eyes would roll back in a muffled whine.
☹ surprisingly self controlled when you tell him just how to fuck you, but he's panting in your ear like it's painful not to pound into you when you keep him moving slowly. "F-fuck, you're so tight, please, just a bit... just— let me fuck you proper, please."
☹ does NOT take edging easily. crumbling by the second time he starts getting close, bucking up into your hand and sweating bullets.
☹ looks damaged when you let him cum. eyes wide, brows pinched together tightly, mouth wide open and slack and nothing coming out, like you punched the air out of his lungs.
☹ aftercare is silent and sticky with tight hugs and noses buried in each other's shoulders. won't say it out loud in a million years, but it felt cathartic.

⦻ takes a LOT of convincing, a lot of reasoning, you even almost resort to making a google slideshow for him. however, it's clear from the get go he's not fully opposed to it with the way he's smirking every time you start your "hear me out" rant. he just wants to watch you reason with him just to fuck with you a little. mind games™
⦻ agrees EVENTUALLY. and he's deceptively composed when he gets on his knees for you. deceptive little grin when you spread your legs and pull him in. something's wrong.
⦻ "Tim." "What?? I'm on my knees, no? Ain't you supposed to call me a good boy?" before he dives in with his entire mouth right away. latches on and sucks like he's trying to prove something.
⦻ "Hm? Easier? Should've specified." "Maybe you should get rougher with me so I listen. C'mon, you wanted this, do I have to teach you?"
⦻ you do get rougher. yank him off you by the hair, hold him there and jerk his head while you scold him. he just looks up at you with low eyes and a sharp, toothy grin, like he's completely unphased by the sting but loving you getting riled up.
⦻ makes a show of jacking off after you specifically demanded that he doesn't, moaning a little extra when you slap his hand off his dick. "Shit, yeah, punish me baby, I've been sooo bad. Maybe you should tie me up too."
⦻ ends up cuffed for maybe 5 minutes while you alternate between fisting his cock and slapping it, before he somehow he ends up out of the restraint—maybe he slipped his hands out because you didn't want to be cruel by tying them too tight and giving him rope burn on his wrists, maybe he just undid the knot while you were focused on keeping him on the edge. either way, you end up yanked on top of him mid "petulant fucking manwhore".
⦻ "Come on, is that it? You're giving up that easy?" gives you no chance whatsoever to stop him from shoving inside you from below. it quickly morphs into thrashing for who fucks who, half him sloppily thrusting into you, half you wrapping both hands around his neck and bouncing on his dick while snarling.
⦻ a mess of spit. yours in his mouth, his on your chest, wetting the sheets, somehow in your hair. he looks like he's thriving while you're genuinely frustrated that he flipped it on you.
⦻ "Tim, come on—!" "Come on? Oh, you want me to cum on you? Fuck, ain't you gonna make me beg for it first?" mockery on 100% even though his voice is shaking by the unforgiving way he just slams into you, just challenging you to keep talking, keep trying, keep failing.
⦻ ruined orgasm. you haul yourself up right when he's starting to grunt low and breathless in his throat, over and over like he does when he's close. actually gasps when he starts pulsating and throbbing angry spurts on his own stomach, cock spasming frustrated and his expression so shocked, like you were the traitor.
⦻ no aftercare, only because he's moping that it felt like shit. you're so proud, and underneath all that huffing and puffing, he is too. silently.

꒷꒦ ...right.
꒷꒦ so, you bring it up to him one night, soft and careful and fully aware of how stupid of an idea this is. hands cold, eyes on the floor, voice so meek and shaky he actually goes "HUH?" 3 times before you actually spit it out.
"Have you, um... thought about, like... letting me be the one in charge...? Like, when we fuck?" instant regret.
꒷꒦ he barks at you. genuinely cackling, eyes bugging a little extra, like that was just so hilarious. you're already backpedaling because you know you should've just kept this in the vault and jerked off to it in private instead.
"You wanna dom me? Hilarious babe, fucking hysterical."
꒷꒦ flips it so fucking fast, you don't even have time to open your mouth before he's on you. hand on your throat so tight you can feel your pulse in your temples, eyes sharp and manic and pinning you down. "You wanna sit on my dick and boss me around? Are you out of your fucking mind, bitch?"
꒷꒦ shoves you down at his feet so you fall face down next to his shoes. yanks you up by the hair and slams his crotch into your face, keeping you there until you're clawing at his legs for air. fucks your throat raw like he's trying to shut you up forever, pinches your nose when you start choking as if to punish you for even conjuring up the thought of flipping the dynamic. "Dominant little whore can't take a fucking blowjob?"
꒷꒦ fucks you like he's correcting you, no prep, no lube (unless you count the spit from your mouth already on his dick). ass up, face pushed in the pillows by his foot on the back of your head.
꒷꒦ "You need to have the stupid fucked outta you? Huh? Say you're stupid. Say 'that was the stupidest shit I done ever said in my life'." "I'm— I'm sorry, I—" "Say it or I'll fucking beat it out of you."

✧ author's note ✧
Aaaand we’re finally here. The party. The build-up. The chaos potential. The birthday. After 20 chapters of yearning, character dissection, awkward eye contact, and conversations that say everything and nothing at the same time… we are officially entering the next arc: actual real-world social interaction. Which, if you’ve been paying attention, is every character’s personal hell. Including mine.
First of all—yes, this is Jungkook’s party chapter. Yes, it’s a pivotal one. Yes, I was pacing around my flat in a hoodie muttering “okay but what would he wear” like a deranged method actor trying to get into character. And yes, there are about 15 new people here. But please don’t panic. You don’t need to memorize them all. This isn’t a fantasy war council. You’re not about to be quizzed on the name of Jungkook’s friend’s cousin’s dog. They’re not here to steal the plot—they’re here to color it.
Jungkook’s different social groups, clashing and blending like some unhinged Venn diagram of his life. They each say something about him and the many versions of himself he keeps—because, as always, this isn’t about the party. It’s about him and her, and us, and the very inconvenient reality of human attachment.
Now. Tessa (and yes, Toasty, when you read this… the name comes 100% from you hahaha).
Yup. That girl from the library. She’s here. She’s breathing. She’s talking. And she’s not a villain.
I know, I know, fanfiction is riddled with the evil-rival-love-interest trope. The girl who eyes you up and down with thinly veiled contempt. The passive aggressive bitch who “just happens” to sit on his lap or call him baby in front of you. The girl whose entire personality is “threat to the main couple.” And listen—I could never.
Tessa isn’t like that. Because most people aren’t like that. Attraction doesn’t automatically equal competition, and not every woman who talks to a man you like is an enemy. That’s such a tired, flat, boring cliche. I’m not writing this story to project misogynistic tropes onto women so we can feel smug about someone else being “the wrong one.” I don’t want you to root against her. I don’t want you to root against anyone, really. Maybe Mia, but that’s what she’s for. She’s your pressure valve. You need someone to hate. That’s what makes the rest bearable.
Tessa’s presence is not a betrayal. It’s just reality. Jungkook is allowed to be liked. He’s allowed to explore. And so is Nix. She’s not some pushover sainted martyr of “true love.” She’s a girl. She’s confused. She’s a little guarded. She’s still trying to understand herself.
There’s no jealousy because there is no claim. There’s no relationship, no commitment, no confessions, no secret “we’re basically already in love” subtext. There’s just this slow, painful, glacial slide into a kind of closeness that might one day become something else—but hasn’t. Not even close. This chapter is about a possible beginning of something resembling tentative friendship. We are barely out of enemies-to-mildly-tolerating-each-other zone. We are in the “do I text you or is that weird” era.
Don’t rush it. Don’t expect it. That’s not the story I’m telling.
Nix being unbothered isn’t character growth. It’s just honesty. It’s consistency. I’ve spent 20 chapters building a girl who’s emotionally guarded, private, and painfully aware of the dynamics she allows herself to engage in. She’s not “cool with it” to be cool—she’s just not invested like that yet. And that matters. We’re not jumping stages for drama. We’re walking, slowly, through the psychology of two people who don’t even know what they want. Let them be confused. Let them be messy. Let them take their time.
I’m writing slow burn with psychological realism at its core, and that means actions have context. If you came here expecting love confessions and possessive meltdowns and “he’s mine stay away” drama… wrong story, babes. I want you uncomfortable. I want you squinting at every interaction wondering if it means something. I want you to question how affection develops, really. Slowly. Subtly. Almost invisibly, until it’s all you can think about.
The story isn’t about dramatic betrayals or Big Plot Twists. It’s about tension. About two people orbiting each other in their own broken, stumbling ways. It’s about glances that last too long and words that don’t come out right and the way your heart knows something long before your brain does. It’s about patterns, and Jungkook’s are catching up to him.
You don’t need to like everyone. But you should understand them. And that’s what I’m asking of you here. Because these characters aren’t plot devices—they’re real to me. They’re studies. They’re messy. And god, I love them for it.
So yeah. Welcome to the party. The masks are on, the music’s loud, and no one knows how to behave when they’re being watched. Especially him.
Enjoy. Suffer. Stare at the page like you’re decoding a sacred text. That’s the vibe.
And as always…
You’re here to suffer. I’m here to deliver.
You’re welcome.

wattpad
You never realized a person could contain so many versions of themselves until you saw Jungkook surrounded by his friends.
"SURPRISE!"
The word explodes through the small ramen shop, followed by cheers and laughter as Jungkook freezes beside you.
His fingers quickly pocket his phone, eyes widening with a genuine shock that transforms his entire face.
Gone is the perpetually amused, slightly condescending roommate you've come to know. In his place stands someone younger, almost innocent—lips parting in stunned delight, eyes crinkling at the corners.
It's fucking weird is what it is.
"Holy shit," he breathes, a laugh bursting from him as Taehyung launches himself across the restaurant, wrapping Jungkook in a hug that nearly knocks him over. "What the fuck?"
Hobi follows immediately, bouncing on his feet like an overgrown puppy before throwing his arms around both of them, turning the duo into a chaotic tangle of limbs and laughter.
Even Yoongi gets up, offering a slow clap before joining with a more restrained but no less genuine embrace—the kind with back pats that guys do when they want to prove they have exactly two emotions: hungry and sports.
You hang back, suddenly aware of how many strangers are packed into this place.
The restaurant is full of people—at least a dozen beyond the ones you recognize—all focused on Jungkook with varying degrees of excitement. Some are already raising drinks in toast, others taking photos, a couple shouting things you can't quite make out over the general chaos.
"P-Kill! Happy birthday, man!"
"Proofs! You made it!"
"Proofy, get over here!"
What the actual fuck are these names?
You frown, trying to connect these bizarre nicknames to the Jungkook you know—the one who leaves his dirty dishes in the sink and plays his music too loud and once tried to convince you that Kraft mac and cheese was "technically gourmet."
None of this computes.
Jungkook catches your confusion as he disentangles himself from his friends, eyes flicking toward you with that familiar half-smile that somehow feels like a private joke.
"Hey," he says, suddenly at your side again. His hand brushes your elbow briefly—not grabbing, just a light touch that seems oddly grounding in this chaos. "These are my friends. Guys, this is my roommate."
He says your name easily, no ‘Phoenix’ or ‘Nix’ in sight, and it's weirdly jarring—like hearing a song you know played in the wrong key.
Not technically wrong, just... off.
The next few minutes are a blur of names and faces, most immediately forgotten as you try to keep track of who's who in this bizarre alternative universe where Jungkook is apparently the center of a large social circle. There's a group of guys—gamers, apparently—who keep calling him those weird nicknames.
"These three idiots," Jungkook explains, gesturing toward a trio of guys who look like they haven't seen sunlight in months, "are my Steam friends. My username is ProofedToKill, so that's where all the dumb nicknames come from."
Of course, that tracks. He's always yelling at the TV when he plays Call of Duty in the living room. You've had multiple arguments about it, usually ending with him putting on headphones and you turning up your music out of spite.
"Don't start," he warns, but there's no real edge to it. "I've already heard all your anti-shooters propaganda."
"It's not propaganda if it's true."
He rolls his eyes but doesn't take the bait, already being pulled toward another group by Taehyung.
"Come on, there are more people you should meet."
You follow, because what else are you going to do? Stand alone by the door like some kind of abandoned pet?
Besides, you're curious now. Curious about these other fragments of Jungkook's life that you've never been privy to before.
The space is packed, noisy in that way that forces everyone to talk slightly too loud. Sensory overload city. People keep touching Jungkook—hugs, shoulder claps, high fives—and he's letting them, which might be the weirdest part of all this.
Since when does he like being touched by people who aren't naked?
"Jungkook!" a female voice exclaims, cutting through the noise. A tall girl with auburn hair moves toward him with the confident grace of someone who's never tripped over her own feet in public. "Happy birthday!"
She wraps him in a hug that makes you realize just how tall she is—like, almost his height tall—and beside her, another girl—smaller, with short black hair and glasses—offers a more reserved greeting.
"Hey Tessa, hey Diana," Jungkook says, looking genuinely pleased to see them. "Didn't think you'd be here!"
Tessa.
The library girl. The one he was doing that group project thing with. The one who kept laughing too loud whenever Jungkook said something that probably wasn't even that funny.
"Taehyung invited us," she explains, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "Hope that's okay."
"Of course it's okay," Jungkook says, and you hate how sincere he sounds.
Where's the sarcastic asshole you live with? Who is this pod person?
"We brought you something," Diana says, holding out a small bag. "Just a little thing."
Jungkook accepts it with a thanks that sounds almost shy, and what the fuck? Since when is he shy about anything?
"Oh, this is my roommate," he adds, suddenly remembering your existence.
He says your name again, and you force a smile because what else can you do in this bizarre social ritual?
"Nice to meet you," Tessa says with a warmth that feels genuine, which is almost worse than if she'd been fake. At least fake would make sense. "Jungkook's mentioned you before. You're in English Lit, right?"
He's talked about you? To her?
What the fuck has he said?
"Yeah," you manage, because apparently your vocabulary has been reduced to monosyllables in the face of all this unexpected social interaction. "English major."
"That's amazing," she says, and she actually seems to mean it. "I'm in Film too, but I've always loved literature. What's your focus?"
Before you can answer—thank god, because you haven't prepared a thesis statement on your academic interests for a birthday party—Hobi appears with a tray of shots, announcing that it's time for the birthday boy to start celebrating properly.
So, of course, the whole crowd moves towards him, shots being thrown back easily. You find yourself suddenly on the outside of it, still standing with Tessa and Diana but no longer the focus of their attention.
It's a relief, honestly.
You've never been good at this kind of thing—large groups, small talk, unfamiliar social dynamics.
It's like being dropped into a play where everyone else knows the script and you're just… improvising. Kinda hoping you don't accidentally say the wrong line and reveal yourself as the impostor.
Your eyes wander around the restaurant, taking in the details you missed—it’s actually a cozy place, warm wood and soft lighting, with private booths along one wall and a long table down the center where most of Jungkook's friends have gathered.
You can smell the sizzling of pans working through different ingredients—garlic, onion, ginger… But your eyes end up on Jungkook anyway.
He swallows down a shot, grimacing at the burn.
Someone passes him another.
Someone else claps him on the back.
He's at the center of all this attention and he's... thriving in it. Laughing, talking.
It’s strange, seeing him like this. So carefree, so loud (although he’s always loud but this is a different kind of loud?)—so in his… element.
You can’t help but feel out of place.
Because, truly. Do you even fit in here? Are you an element? Part of his element? Or whatever this is?
This morning you were agonizing over whether you could be friends with the guy you've been fucking.
Now you're standing in a room full of people who already are his friends, who've known him much longer than you have, who see a completely different side of him than the one you get.
It's... a lot.
You pull out your phone, needing something to do with your hands, but the screen stays dark. Okay. Dead. Fantastic.
"You okay?"
The voice at your elbow makes you jump.
It's Jungkook, somehow back at your side despite the crowd still demanding his attention.
"Fine," you say automatically. "Just... observing."
His eyes scan your face, more perceptive than you'd like. "You look like you'd rather be literally anywhere else."
"Not true. I can think of at least three places that would be worse." You tick them off on your fingers. "The DMV. An insurance seminar. Dinner with my parents."
That gets a laugh out of him—a real one, one you seem to be getting out of him more and more often.
“Fair enough. Come on, let me get you a drink. It'll help with..."
He pauses, purses his lips as he tilts his head at you.
"With what, exactly?"
"The whole 'I'd rather eat glass than make small talk with strangers' vibe you're giving off."
"I'm not—" you start to protest, but he's already pulling you toward the bar, his hand warm against your lower back.
"It's fine, Phee," he says, the familiar nickname slipping out naturally now that you're momentarily separated from the crowd. "Not everyone's into the whole big social scene. You don't have to pretend."
You want to argue on principle—deny that he knows you that well, that he can read your discomfort so easily—but it would be pointless.
He's right.
You do hate this.
And the fact that he noticed, that he came back to check on you instead of just leaving you to flounder on your own...
It's annoying. Or it should be.
Instead, it feels weirdly considerate.
"I don't need a babysitter," you mutter as he flags down the bartender. "Go enjoy your party. I'm perfectly capable of standing in a corner judging people on my own."
"Maybe I'm enjoying my party more over here."
He orders something you don't catch, then turns back to you with that half-smile that's somehow more familiar than the broad grin he's been flashing at everyone else.
“Besides, if I leave you alone too long, you might decide to ditch, and then who would I blame when I need an excuse to escape Hobi's karaoke demands?"
"Yoongi seems like a good scapegoat."
"Nah, Yoongi secretly loves karaoke. Just pretends to hate it so people will beg him. It's weird."
The bartender slides two glasses toward Jungkook—whiskey is one, by the look of it.
The other one is…
Vodka cranberry.
He remembers?
You lick your lips. Nervous suddenly. Maybe. Or not really. Just uncomfortable, because here it is again. Jungkook being attentive, doing these stupid kind things that completely shatter the reputation you have built for him in your head.
"You really don't have to babysit me," you say again, but you take the drink anyway. "I'm fine."
His eyes search yours, more serious than usual. "I know you're fine. Maybe I just want to hang out with you."
Something shifts in your chest—a small, uncomfortable flutter.
“Why? You have a dozen other people here who actually like you."
"Ouch." He presses a hand to his heart, mock wounded. "And here I thought we were making progress on the whole friendship thing."
"The jury's still out on that one."
"Uh-huh." He takes a sip of his whiskey, eyes never leaving yours. "Well, consider this evidence for the 'pro' column: I noticed you were uncomfortable and came to rescue you instead of letting you suffer in silence."
"Maybe I prefer suffering in silence."
"No one prefers suffering in silence, Nix. Some people just don't think they deserve better."
The way he says it makes something twirl uncomfortable inside your chest.
You take a large drink instead of responding, welcoming the burn as it slides down your throat.
“Make sure to finish that quickly. Get ready for the party games.”
"There are going to be party games?"
"That’s only the beginning."
"So," you say, swaying your glass slightly, watching the burgundy liquid catch the light, "ProofedToKill, huh? Didn't know I was living with such a badass."
"No? I thought you knew how badass I am.”
“You’re bad, and an ass. That doesn’t make you a badass. Different word.”
He laughs, low and warm, and you can’t help the smile that forms on your lips without conscious input.
"You know what it actually means?" he asks, leaning back against the wall.
You raise an eyebrow. "That you're secretly a hitman with terrible grammar?"
"Hilarious." He rolls his eyes, but there's no real irritation behind it. "It's a baking term, actually."
"A what now?"
"Baking. You know, that thing people do with flour and heat instead of burning the place down.”
“If you bring up the candle incident one more time—”
He makes a zipping motion over his mouth, and your lips twitch with the effort of chuckling.
“Wait, are you seriously telling me your super tough gamer name is about... baking?"
He sighs, looking down at his glass. "When you're making bread—sourdough specifically—there's this stage called 'proofing.’ It's when the dough rises, develops flavor. If you overproof it, it collapses. If you underproof, it's dense. But if you get it just right..."
"You've... proofed to kill?" you finish, unable to keep the disbelief from your voice.
"Exactly." He grins, clearly pleased that you've made the connection. "Perfect proofing. Killer bread. It's a whole thing."
You stare at him, genuinely speechless for perhaps the first time since you've known him.
This man—this infuriating, cocky roommate who struts around like he owns every room he enters—has a gamer tag based on fucking bread-making.
And he's admitting it.
Voluntarily.
"So let me get this straight," you say slowly. "Your badass online persona, the one all your friends call you by, is actually a baking pun?"
"In my defense, it's a really good pun. And most people assume it's about, you know, being good at shooting things. Which I also am." He shrugs, cockiness slipping back into place.
“You’re so weird,” you mutter, but you know he doesn’t take it seriously.
"Been doing it since college. The whole sourdough thing at midnight." He confesses, glancing around briefly, like he's checking to make sure no one else is listening, then lowers his voice. "My mom taught me. She had this whole recipe she'd developed over years, this perfect sourdough method. Made the best bread you've ever tasted."
Again that softness, almost reverence when he speaks about his mom.
It always catches you off guard. You've never heard him talk like this before. Never heard him talk about his family at all, really.
"After she..." he continues, then stops himself, shaking his head slightly. "Anyway. I keep trying to recreate it. Haven't quite nailed it yet."
Neither of you speak for a couple of beats. His gaze is still fixed on his drink, and then he takes a sip, like his mind is somewhere else completely.
“Is that why you stress-bake at 3 AM? Trying to get the proof right?"
His eyes meet yours, surprised.
Maybe a little grateful for the redirect.
“You’ve noticed?”
“I mean, I just went to the bathroom one night and saw you fighting the dough, so…”
He chuckles, gaze back on his glass. “Yeah. It's... meditative, I guess. Helps me think."
"Weird way to think, but okay."
"Says the person who reads the same depressing Kafka story fourteen times and calls it 'processing.'"
"It's a good story."
"It's about a guy turning into a giant bug."
"And it speaks to the alienation inherent in modern existence. Your point?"
He laughs again, shaking his head. "God, you're such a fucking English major."
"And you're a secret bread nerd. We all have our crosses to bear."
His smile shifts into something different—softer around the edges, almost vulnerable. "Don't tell anyone, okay? About the username thing. I have a reputation to maintain."
"What, you mean your friends don't know your tough gamer handle is actually about your sourdough obsession?"
"Only Yoongi knows. And now you." He drums his fingers on the glass once, twice. "That's enough oversharing on my part for the day, I think. Sooner or later it's going to have to be your turn, you know, Pyx?"
Great. A new variation of your nickname. Does he ever stop coming up with them?
"My turn for what?"
"Sharing something real." His eyes hold yours, steady. "Friendship goes both ways, Nix."
You scoff, ignoring the way your heart rate picks up slightly. "I share things."
"Like what? Your coffee order doesn't count."
"I told you about the IUD."
"That's medical, not personal."
"It's literally inside my body. How much more personal can it get?"
He sighs, but he makes it dramatic this time. "You know what I mean. Something that matters to you. Something real."
You do know. That's the problem. He's asking for exactly the kind of vulnerability you've spent years carefully avoiding. The kind that gives people ammunition, that creates expectations, that leads to disappointment when you inevitably fail to meet them.
But he just told you about his mom. About bread and baking and usernames that mean more than they appear to. He offered something real—small, maybe, but genuine.
And isn't that what this whole friendship experiment is supposed to be about?
You open your mouth, not entirely sure what's going to come out, when a crash from across the restaurant saves you. Hobi has somehow managed to knock over an entire tray of drinks, and the resulting chaos immediately draws everyone's attention, including Jungkook's.
"Shit," he mutters, already half-moving. "I should go help before he makes it worse."
"Go," you nod, equal parts relieved and strangely disappointed. "Your public needs you."
He hesitates, eyes still on yours. "We're not done with this conversation."
"Pretty sure we are."
"Pretty sure we're just getting started." He stands fully, but doesn't leave immediately. "Come join, okay? Whenever you’re ready.”
You watch him weave through the crowd toward the spill, already calling out something to Hobi that makes the other man laugh despite the mess. It's strange, seeing him like this—in his element, surrounded by people who know him in ways you don't.
ProofedToKill. A baking pun turned gamer tag. A piece of his mother he carries with him, encrypted in plain sight.
You take another sip of your vodka cranberry, wondering what else about Jungkook you've been missing all this time.
Eleven people crammed around a table is basically psychological warfare in restaurant form.
You're somehow stuck directly across from Jungkook, because apparently the universe has a shitty sense of humor.
Next to him, Tessa has claimed her territory, her long legs perfectly positioned under the table while yours are already cramping from the weird angle. Of course.
At least you've got Yoongi on your left—a silent, grounding presence in the chaos. When you'd awkwardly hovered near his chair, he'd just grunted and shifted slightly to make room.
In Yoongi-speak, that's practically a formal invitation with calligraphy and shit.
Diana sits on your other side, petite and prim, her small hands already arranging her napkin with quick movements. She keeps glancing at Tessa across the table with an expression you can't quite decipher—somewhere between admiration and mild disapproval.
The menu in Yoongi's hands looks worn and slightly sticky, but your stomach is basically staging a revolt after hours of nothing but ibuprofen and vodka. You lean over, scanning the options without asking permission because fuck it, you're hungry.
The spicy ramen section catches your eye immediately.
Your stomach gives another impatient growl.
"I want those," you announce, pointing at the spiciest option on the menu.
Yoongi barely blinks. "Cool. I didn't ask."
You roll your eyes and lean back in your chair because, okay, whatever. Rude ass. Though honestly, there's something almost refreshing about his complete lack of social polish.
At least you always know where you stand with him, which is approximately nowhere.
A movement across the table draws your attention.
Jungkook's eyes have lifted from his own menu, catching yours with an intensity that feels weirdly intimate in the crowded space. His gaze flickers down again almost immediately, but not before you notice the corner of his mouth tilting upward.
What's he laughing about? Stupid. He's stupid.
"I kinda wanted the spicy ones too," he says, looking up again. "Maybe we can share?"
You squint at him suspiciously. "Huh? No. I want the bowl entirely for me."
Diana makes a soft sound beside you—half laugh, half disbelief.
“I can't believe you can eat all that."
The words hang there for a moment while your brain processes the judgment packaged in her innocent-sounding comment.
Did she just really—
"C'mon Diana," Tessa cuts in swiftly, laugh warm and genuine, "not everyone has a small stomach like you."
Diana scowls, her delicate features pinching together. "I just think that's a lot to eat."
"Bro, I could eat two bowls in one sitting," Jungkook says.
"Make that three," Taehyung adds from Jungkook's other side. "You're a fucking goblin, Kooks."
"Three? Amateur," one of the gamer guys—Steve? Sean?—chimes in from the end of the table. "Remember that time after the tournament when you ate four bowls of ramen and then threw up in my car?"
"That was food poisoning," Jungkook protests. "Totally different situation."
"Your face was poisoned."
"What does that even mean?"
"Your face... poisoned... my eyes," the guy finishes lamely, clearly losing his train of thought.
"Ten points from Slytherin for that weak-ass comeback," Hobi declares, raising his beer like a wizard's wand. "Jungkook requires better trash talk in his honor."
"Oh shit, we're using Hogwarts points now?" another one asks. "When did we switch systems?"
"Since I just decided, and I'm the dungeon master."
"That's D&D, you uncultured swine," Taehyung sighs, long-suffering. "Completely different franchise."
"Whatever, they're all just wizard nerds," Hobi says with a dismissive wave.
"That's wizard king to you, peasant," Jungkook corrects, puffing out his chest.
“Do you all... actually play these games?" Diana asks, voice faintly disdainful.
"Only when we're not busy with our super cool and important adult lives," Taehyung says, deadpan.
"I just don't get the appeal," she sniffs. "Sitting inside all day, staring at screens—"
"Yo," Hobi cuts in smoothly, somehow managing to sound both friendly and firm at the same time, "different strokes for different folks. Some people climb mountains, some people slay digital dragons. Both valid."
Diana shifts uncomfortably under his gaze. "I guess."
"Besides," you find yourself saying, "it's literally his birthday. Maybe, I don't know, let him enjoy things without the judgment?"
The words come out sharper than intended, surprising even you.
Since when do you jump to Jungkook's defense? Since when do you care if someone judges his nerdy gaming habits?
Jungkook looks equally surprised, eyebrows raised slightly as he studies your face. Then his expression shifts into something softer, almost appreciative.
"Exactly. Today's about celebrating you," Tessa adds, turning to Jungkook with a warm smile. "And apparently your inhuman ability to consume ramen."
"It's my superpower," he says solemnly. "With great appetite comes great indigestion."
A ripple of laughter moves around the table, breaking the awkward moment. Diana still looks sulky, but at least she's dropped the subject.
The waiter appears then, ready to take orders, and the conversation splinters as everyone tries to decide what they want.
"You really getting the level five spicy?" Yoongi asks quietly while the others debate.
"Yeah. Why, think I can't handle it?"
He snorts. "Just checking if I need to order extra water for when you inevitably start crying."
"I do not cry from spicy food."
"Everyone cries from spicy food if it's actually spicy."
"Well, we'll see, won't we?"
He shrugs, a barely perceptible movement of one shoulder. "Your funeral."
"Comforting as always, Yoon."
The ghost of a smile flits across his face before he returns to his default expression of mild disinterest.
Across the table, Jungkook is in the middle of a heated debate with Taehyung about... something involving a game you've never heard of. His hands move animatedly as he talks, face lit with genuine enthusiasm. One of his friends keeps trying to interject, but Jungkook and Taehyung are in their own world, talking over each other and somehow still understanding perfectly.
He looks so unguarded.
So... normal. Like any other twenty-something guy arguing about video games with his friends.
Not that you care. It's just an observation.
"So you're Jungkook's roommate," Diana says, drawing your attention back to her. Her tone suggests this is somehow both surprising and slightly concerning.
"Yep." You keep it brief, hoping she'll take the hint and drop whatever line of questioning is forming behind those judgmental eyes.
No such luck.
"And how did that happen exactly? Through the university housing board?"
"Craigslist, actually."
Her eyebrows shoot up like you've just admitted to finding the apartment through a demonic summoning ritual.
“Oh! Isn't that... dangerous?"
"Not really. The apartment was already Yoongi and Jungkook's. I just answered the ad for the third room."
"Still," she persists, "moving in with two guys you don't know. That's brave."
The way she says ‘brave’ makes it clear she means ‘stupid,’ but you're not in the mood to defend your housing choices to someone who probably thinks spicy ramen is too adventurous.
"Not really. Yoongi's background check was pretty thorough," you deadpan. "Only had to provide three references, a blood sample, and my complete genetic history."
Diana blinks, clearly unsure if you're joking.
"It's true," Yoongi confirms without looking up from his phone. "Her midichlorian count was acceptable."
"What’s… midichlorian?" Diana asks uncertainly.
"It’s a real scientific test," you say, keeping your expression perfectly serious. "Very exclusive."
She frowns, increasingly confused, and you feel a small, petty satisfaction at her discomfort.
"They're fucking with you," Taehyung calls from across the table, apparently tuned into your conversation despite seemingly being absorbed in his argument with Jungkook. "It's a Star Wars reference."
"Oh." Diana forces a laugh that doesn't reach her eyes. "Right."
"Ignore them," Tessa says kindly. "They operate on their own wavelength sometimes."
"Especially these two," Hobi adds, gesturing between Taehyung and Jungkook. "Like an old married couple, but with more shouting and fewer financial benefits."
"What do you mean fewer financial benefits?" Jungkook protests. "I've been carrying his broke ass in-game economy for years."
"That gold farm was my idea!"
"Your idea crashed the server and got us banned for a week!"
"Details," Taehyung waves dismissively. "The point is, I'm the brains of this operation."
"And I'm the beauty," Jungkook fires back, striking a pose that makes Hobi snort water through his nose.
It's all so... easy. The banter, the inside jokes, the casual way they navigate each other's personalities. They've clearly had years to develop this rhythm, to learn each other's edges and how to fit together despite them—or maybe because of them.
Something twists in your chest, sharp and unexpected. You busy yourself with your water glass, suddenly very interested in the condensation gathering along its sides.
The waiter returns with drinks, setting them around the table. You're grateful for the distraction, for something to do with your hands besides fidget awkwardly.
"Alright," Hobi declares once everyone has a drink, lifting his glass. "To the birthday boy! May your K/D ratio remain impressive and your hairline unreceded."
"Here's to another year of Jungkook being Jungkook," Taehyung adds, raising his own glass. "God help us all."
"To Kooks," Tessa says, her voice softer but no less sincere. "Happy birthday."
Glasses clink around the table, a chorus of echoed sentiments following. You lift your glass automatically, catching Jungkook's eye as you do. He's watching you, before he smiles—small and surprisingly genuine.
"Thanks for getting me here," he says quietly, just for you.
"Don't mention it," you reply, equally quiet. "Seriously. Don't. I'll deny everything."
His smile widens, and for a moment, it feels like you're back in that booth from earlier—just the two of you, everyone else fading to background noise.
Then Taehyung jostles his arm, demanding his opinion on something, and the moment breaks.
You take a sip of your drink, trying to ignore the strange feeling that's settled in your chest.
It's probably just hunger. Or the vodka from earlier.
Or the fact that you've been in this loud, crowded restaurant for what feels like hours now, surrounded by people you barely know, playing a role you're not quite sure how to perform.
Yeah. That's definitely it.
The server arrives with a ridiculous number of bowls balanced along his arms like some kind of food-based Cirque du Soleil performer. Steam rises from each one, carrying scents that make your stomach growl with embarrassing volume.
A massive, angry-looking bowl lands in front of you, the broth practically glowing red. It looks like someone liquefied the sun and threw in some noodles as an afterthought.
Perfect.
Two bowls slide in front of Jungkook—your spicy demon soup's twin and something much more reasonable looking, probably miso based on the color.
"Hungry much?" you ask, eyeing his double order.
"Growing boy," he shrugs, already reaching for chopsticks.
Taehyung, meanwhile, receives... a plate of curry rice?
"Seriously?" You can't help the judgment that leaks into your voice. "We're at a ramen place and you ordered curry?"
He shoots you a look that could curdle milk. "Some of us have taste beyond 'hot noodle soup.'"
"Some of us aren't afraid of flavor, dickasso."
"Bold words from someone currently holding weapons-grade capsaicin," he fires back, gesturing at your bowl. "Does your taste even function, or did you burn it all away with your sad little Hot Pockets diet?"
"At least I'm not too precious to eat what the restaurant specializes in."
“This is objectively superior."
"Only if your objective is being a pretentious dick."
"I prefer 'discerning connoisseur.'"
"You would."
You hate that banter with Taehyung is starting to become more and more comfortable. Like verbal sparring with someone who actually knows how to return a serve, instead of just standing there getting hit in the face with the ball.
Not that you like him or anything. His whole vibe—artsy, too cool for school, judgmental as fuck—is objectively annoying.
But maybe also a little entertaining.
In small doses.
Very small.
Across the table, Hobi watches this exchange with undisguised amusement, head swiveling between you.
"I feel like I'm witnessing the beginning of a beautiful friendship," he says, grinning widely. "Or a homicide. Hard to tell."
"Definitely homicide," Taehyung and you say in unison, then glare at each other for the coordination.
You turn your attention back to your ramen, inhaling the spicy steam before digging in. The first bite hits like a kick to the teeth—pain followed immediately by pleasure.
It's fucking delicious despite feeling like you just licked the surface of the sun.
"Good?" Yoongi asks, watching your face with what might be the ghost of amusement.
"Incredible," you manage, already reaching for more.
Across the table, Jungkook dives into his own spicy bowl with enthusiasm, slurping noodles with zero concern for how it looks. A drop of broth escapes, clinging to his lower lip.
You're about to say something—point it out, make fun of his complete lack of eating etiquette, something—when Tessa reaches out, casual as anything, and swipes her thumb across his lip.
"Messy," she says, the word warm with affection.
He tilts his head toward her, smiling in a way that can only be described as flirtatious.
“That's my brand."
You purse your lips, returning your attention to your own food.
Whatever. Let him preen over a pretty girl paying attention to him. His loser ass probably never gets that chance.
Although... that's a lie and you know it.
The guy is annoyingly good-looking and he knows it. He's probably used to girls fawning over him, cleaning his face like he's a toddler who can't be trusted with utensils.
"Whatcha looking at, Phee—" He cuts himself off abruptly, eyes widening slightly. "—asantly surprised by how spicy that ramen is? Your face is getting red."
Smooth recovery. Not.
"Just thinking about how long it's been since I've had decent ramen."
You grab your water glass, suddenly very aware of the burning sensation spreading across your tongue.
It's fine. Totally manageable. Nothing to worry about.
"Knew it," Yoongi mutters beside you.
You set the glass down with more force than necessary. "It's not spicy."
"Uh-huh." He doesn't even bother looking up from his own bowl. "That's why your face is the same color as the broth."
"It's warm in here."
"Sure it is."
"I can handle spice."
"Never said you couldn't."
"You implied it."
He finally glances at you, expression as bored as ever. "I implied you're a liar, not a spice lightweight."
"I'm not—" Another wave of heat crashes through your mouth, cutting off your protest. "Fine. It's a little spicy."
The corner of his mouth twitches in what might be a smile on anyone else. "A little."
"Shut up and eat your boring miso."
Amazingly, he actually laughs—a short, quiet sound that's there and gone so quickly you almost think you imagined it.
But no, that was definitely a laugh. From Yoongi. Directed at something you said.
Huh.
You return to your ramen, determined to finish it despite the way your sinuses are starting to protest.
It's a matter of pride now. You said you could handle it, so you'll handle it, even if it kills you.
Which it might. But what a way to go.
You glance up, seeing how Jungkook and Tessa have their heads tilted toward each other, engaged in what looks like a very amusing conversation based on her laugh. She keeps touching his arm, casual little points of contact that seem to arrive at perfectly timed intervals.
She's good at this, you'll give her that. The whole flirting thing. Not too obvious, not too reserved. Just the right amount of interest without seeming desperate.
Huh. He might get laid tonight then. Not by you.
Good for him.
"You're staring again," Taehyung says, his voice pitched low enough that only you can hear. "Plotting his murder or just generally disapproving of his existence?"
"Just wondering how someone with the personality of a half-deflated balloon animal manages to function in society," you reply smoothly.
"Years of practice and an excellent support system." He gestures between himself and Hobi, who's busy trying to convince one of the gamer guys that yes, there is in fact sake in the sake bomb he just drank. "We've been managing his personality disorder since freshman year."
"Sounds exhausting."
"It is." His eyes drift to where Jungkook is now showing Tessa something on his phone, both of them laughing. "But he has his moments."
You turn your attention back to your food. Halfway through, you make the tactical error of taking a large bite just as Hobi says something particularly funny, causing you to inhale sharply—and sending a piece of chili directly into your windpipe.
Coughing. So much coughing.
Your eyes water immediately, turning the table into a blurry mess of colors and shapes as you desperately reach for your water again.
"Easy there," Yoongi says, actually sounding a little concerned as he pushes your glass closer. "Small sips."
You manage to get the water down between coughs, the cool liquid offering minimal relief to your burning throat.
"You okay?" Jungkook asks, leaning across the table with a frown.
Great. Now everyone's looking at you. Perfect. Just what you wanted. All the attention.
"Fine," you rasp, waving a hand dismissively. "Went down the wrong pipe."
"Maybe you should try something less lethal," Diana suggests, eyeing your bowl with thinly veiled judgment. "Like the mild shoyu."
"I'm good with my life choices, thanks."
"Not all of them, I hope," Taehyung mutters, just loud enough for you to hear.
You kick him under the table, aiming for his shin but probably hitting the table leg instead based on his lack of reaction.
"If you die from ramen, I'm not cleaning out your room," Yoongi says matter-of-factly.
"Noted. I'll make sure to haunt you specifically."
"Bold of you to assume I'd notice the difference."
"What, between me alive and me as a ghost?"
"You already have a resting bitch face and make weird noises at night. How would I tell?"
You choke again, this time on your own surprise.
"I do not make weird noises at night!"
"The walls are thin."
Heat creeps up your neck, and it has nothing to do with the spice level of your food.
“I don't—that's not—"
"Relax. I meant the way you talk in your sleep."
Oh. That's... marginally less mortifying.
"I talk in my sleep?"
"Constantly."
"About what?"
He shrugs. "Mostly nonsense. Something about pencils last night. Very intense opinions on pencils."
"I don't have opinions about pencils," you protest. "Intense or otherwise."
"Tell that to your subconscious."
The conversation shifts as one of the gamers—Ryan? you think?—slams his empty sake cup on the table with more force than necessary.
"Yo!" he announces, loud enough to get everyone's attention. "We should do shots. Birthday shots for the birthday boy!"
A chorus of approval goes up around the table. Even Diana looks on board with this plan, probably because alcohol is the one thing that might loosen up whatever's holding her personality together.
"The birthday boy needs birthday shots," Hobi agrees, already signaling the waiter.
Taehyung groans. "Please tell me we're not doing that ridiculous 'one shot for each year' tradition. I'm not carrying his drunk ass home again."
"That was one time," Jungkook protests.
"One time too many. You kept trying to pet dogs that weren't there."
"I was seeing through the space-time continuum to where dogs would eventually be."
"You threw up in my shower."
"I cleaned it!"
"With my loofah!"
"I replaced it!"
"After I used it!"
You watch this exchange with growing amusement, the rapid-fire back-and-forth almost dizzying in its intensity. It's clear this is a well-worn argument, trotted out for entertainment value rather than actual grievance.
"Fine," Taehyung concedes dramatically. "Birthday shots. But I'm not responsible for any hallucinated canines or bathroom incidents."
"Deal," Jungkook grins, then turns to Tessa. "You in?"
She laughs, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "I should probably pace myself. Early class tomorrow."
"Responsible," he nods, mock serious. "I respect that."
"Unlike some people," Taehyung mutters, glancing pointedly at Jungkook.
"It's my birthday. I'm legally exempt from responsibility for twenty-four hours."
"That's not a law."
"It's the law of birthdays, Tae. Everyone knows this."
Ryan—definitely Ryan—flags down the server successfully this time, ordering a round of shots for the table.
“Even for the responsible ones," he insists when Tessa tries to decline. "Just one. For Proofs."
She relents with a smile, rolling her stupid pretty eyes.
"You too, Miss Spicy Ramen," Ryan says, nodding toward you. "Unless you can't handle your liquor either."
Is that a challenge? It sounds like a challenge.
"I can handle my liquor just fine," you say.
“Debatable,” Jungkook mutters, the menace.
"Oh, fighting words," Hobi laughs, clapping his hands together. "I sense a story here."
"There's no story," Jungkook says quickly.
"I think we've found the first drinking game of the night," Hobi declares. "Most embarrassing Jungkook stories. Winner gets... I don't know, bragging rights and my eternal respect."
"That's not fair," Jungkook protests. "I'm the birthday boy. I should be exempt from humiliation."
"Birthday boy gets birthday roast," Taehyung counters.
Even Yoongi cracks a smile at that, which might be the most shocking development of the evening so far.
Five shots in and the room has developed that particular tilt that makes everything both sharper and blurrier at the same time.
"Next round!" Seth announces, grinning as he surveys the damage he's caused.
Seth, as you've learned through increasingly slurred introductions, is one of Jungkook's film school friends—tall, blonde, and way too enthusiastic about drinking games for someone his size.
"Embarrassing stories! Laugh and you drink!"
Groans mixed with cheers ripple around the table, which has somehow gotten messier and louder with each passing shot. Empty glasses create a small army between plates. Someone knocked over the soy sauce earlier, and no one's bothered to clean it up.
"Oh, oh, OH!" Taehyung practically bounces in his seat, raising his hand like an overeager student. "I have one."
"This'll be good," Yoongi mutters beside you, the most he's spoken in twenty minutes.
Taehyung clears his throat dramatically. "Picture this: Eighth grade. School talent show."
"No," Jungkook groans, head dropping into his hands. "Not that one."
"Yes, that one." Taehyung's grin is borderline evil. "Our boy Kooks here decides he's going to impress Minah Park with a dance routine."
"I'm begging you," Jungkook says, voice muffled through his fingers.
"To what song, you ask?" Taehyung continues, undeterred. "None other than 'Milkshake' by Kelis."
Ryan lets out a bark of laughter, immediately reaching for his shot.
"Oh my god," Diana whispers, eyes wide.
"Did he know what the song was about?" Tessa asks, already giggling.
"That's the best part," Taehyung says, pausing for dramatic effect. "He thought it was literally about making good milkshakes. His mom helped him with the routine."
The table erupts. Even Yoongi snorts, reaching for his shot glass with resigned dignity. You're trying—genuinely trying—to hold it in, pressing your lips together, but then you make the mistake of looking at Jungkook's mortified expression and it's over. Laughter spills out, and you grab your shot, tossing it back with a wince.
"His mom found out what it meant halfway through the performance," Taehyung continues, wiping tears from his eyes. "Her face—I wish smartphones existed back then."
"I hate you," Jungkook mutters, but there's no heat behind it. "So much."
"Did Minah like it at least?" Hobi asks, still chuckling.
"She transferred schools the next week," Taehyung says solemnly. "Unrelated reasons, allegedly."
Another round of laughter, another round of shots.
"My turn," Hobi declares once the chaos subsides. "Let me tell you about the first time I met this guy."
"Which version are you telling?" Jungkook asks warily.
"The true one," Hobi says with a wink. "Picture it: 2021. Dance studio on 8th. This scrawny kid walks in, says he needs to film a project for his class."
"I wasn't scrawny," Jungkook protests.
"You were a twig with hair," Hobi dismisses. "Anyway, he sets up his equipment, very professional, very serious. Then my advanced hip-hop class starts, and halfway through, he abandons his camera to try and join in."
"Oh no," Tessa whispers, delighted.
"Oh yes," Hobi confirms. "He jumps in, full confidence, absolutely sure he can keep up. Two eight-counts later, he slips, takes out my star student, and they both crash into the mirror."
"It didn't break!" Jungkook interjects.
"It cracked," Hobi corrects. "Still there. I call it the Jungkook Memorial Spiderweb."
You laugh despite yourself, drinking quickly to hide your smile when Jungkook shoots you a betrayed look.
"What about you, Yoongi?" Seth asks, refilling glasses with alarming efficiency. "How'd you meet the birthday boy?"
Yoongi regards the question like it's asked him to explain quantum physics.
“Music production seminar. He needed help with a film score." He shrugs. "He wasn't completely terrible."
"From Yoongi, that's basically a marriage proposal," Hobi stage-whispers.
"Wow, such a beautiful story," you deadpan. "So moving. So detailed."
Yoongi raises an eyebrow. “Not all of us need a thousand words to make a point."
"Clearly." You snort, then immediately regret it when the room spins slightly.
"What about you, new girl?" Seth asks, suddenly focused on you with an intensity that feels both flattering and vaguely predatory. "Got any good Jungkook stories from the roommate archives?"
All eyes turn to you, expectant.
You scramble for something suitably embarrassing but not too revealing.
“Oh, I’ve got plenty,” you say, the alcohol making you bolder than usual. “But I have to live with him, so I’m weighing the entertainment value against the revenge factor.”
“Coward,” Taehyung coughs into his hand.
"Yeah, tell us the real dirt," Seth presses, leaning forward with a grin that suggests he's hoping for something scandalous.
You narrow your eyes, suddenly protective of the weird dynamic you share with Jungkook. These people don't get to know about the late-night arguments over the TV volume, or the silent coffee maker standoffs, or the way he sometimes hums in the shower when he thinks no one can hear.
"Sorry to disappoint," you say with exaggerated sweetness, "but I value my security deposit too much to reveal his darkest secrets."
"Cop-out," Seth accuses, but he's smiling.
"Another round!" Ryan announces, refilling shot glasses with something that smells vaguely like cinnamon and regret. "Tessa, you laughed at the dance story, you owe one."
“I didn’t!” she protests, but she’s fighting a smile now. “I was just… appreciating the story.”
“Liar! Your lips twitched. That’s a drink.”
She shakes her head, still smiling. “No way. I have that early class, remember?”
Before Ryan can argue further, Jungkook smoothly grabs her shot and downs it in one fluid motion.
“Problem solved,” he says, setting the empty glass back on the table with a decisive clink.
Something about the gesture—casual, protective, maybe a little possessivemakes your stomach twist in a way that has nothing to do with the alcohol or spicy ramen.
Seth slides another shot toward you. “Here, you need a refill.”
You stare at it, trying to do math through the fuzzy haze of alcohol.
How many shots have you had? Four? Five? You've lost count, which is probably not a great sign.
But everyone’s looking at you, waiting, and you’ve never been good at backing down from a challenge—especially when you’re already tipsy and your judgment is shot to hell.
You reach for the shot, hesitating only slightly. It burns going down, making you cough and sputter in a way that is definitely not attractive, but whatever. You can handle it.
Probably.
“Another round!” Seth calls. “Funniest pet stories. Go.”
And so the new game continues, stories flying around the table with increasing volume and decreasing coherence.
You lose track of who’s talking, everything blurring into laughter and voices and the clinking of glasses.
“Oh, and remember when Jungkook tried to sneak into that bar with his cousin’s ID?” someone is saying—maybe Ryan? The faces at the end of the table are swimming a bit. “The bouncer took one look at the picture and said, ‘This says you’re 5’4” and Filipino.’”
More laughter, more shots. The room spins again when you tilt your head back to drink.
“Another one for you,” Seth says, sliding a fresh shot in front of you after you laugh at something Hobi said. His hand lingers near yours on the table, fingers almost but not quite touching. “Don’t tell me you’re backing down so soon?"
The challenge in his tone hits some stupid part of your brain—the part that's been responsible for most of your worst decisions.
So of course you grab the shot.
"Just getting started," you declare, tossing it back with more confidence than coordination.
Seth grins, clearly pleased by your response. "I like you. You're fun."
"I'm a goddamn delight," you agree solemnly, which makes Taehyung snort into his drink.
The next round comes with someone telling a tale about Jungkook getting locked out of his dorm freshman year wearing only a towel. Hobi recounts the time Jungkook tried to learn breakdancing and sprained both wrists. Jungkook retaliates with something about Taehyung and body paint that has everyone howling and reaching for their drinks.
You keep pace, determined not to be the one who can't hang, even as the room develops an interesting spin and your tongue feels increasingly disconnected from your brain.
"Another one!" Seth declares, sliding a fresh shot in front of you.
You stare at it, hiccupping slightly. The thought of one more makes your stomach perform an acrobatic maneuver.
"I don't know..."
"Come on," he urges, eyes bright with that specific drunk intensity people get when they're determined to make everyone else as wasted as they are. "Don't quit now."
You hiccup slightly, staring at the shot with growing uncertainty.
Your stomach churns in warning.
But your pride is a stubborn, stupid stupid thing.
Before you can decide, Jungkook’s arm shoots across the table, grabbing the shot and downing it in one quick movement. His eyes find Seth’s, narrowed and unmistakably warning.
“I think she’s good,” he says, voice deceptively casual.
Seth raises his hands in mock surrender. “Just keeping the game going, man.”
You stare at Jungkook, confused by the intervention. He catches your look and shrugs, a simple ‘what?’ in his expression that somehow makes you frown harder.
The game shifts again, someone suggesting “Never Have I Ever” as a change of pace. Your brain struggles to keep up with the new rules, everything moving a little too fast, a little too loud.
“Never have I ever…” Seth taps his chin thoughtfully, eyes finding yours again. “Been skinny dipping.”
You groan internally. Of course he’d pick something designed to make people admit to being naked. Typical.
Those who have done it drink, including Jungkook, which makes Tessa raise her eyebrows in a way that seems both surprised and intrigued.
You remain still, glass untouched, which somehow feels like a victory.
The questions continue around the table, growing progressively more suggestive as everyone’s inhibitions lower.
A fresh shot appears in front of you, courtesy of Ryan, who’s moved on from the game and is now just passing out alcohol indiscriminately.
“Drink up!” he declares. “We’re celebrating!”
You stare at the shot, swaying slightly in your seat. The room feels too hot, too crowded, too everything. Your brain is sending out warning signals, but they’re muffled under layers of alcohol and stubbornness.
Jungkook is watching you, expression unreadable but lips pressed together in what might be concern.
He knows you shouldn’t drink that.
You know you shouldn’t drink that.
But admitting it feels like losing somehow.
So you reach for the glass. Fingers clumsy.
Suddenly it’s gone—snatched away by a hand behind you.
“She doesn’t want any more, broski.”
You whip around so fast the room spins alarmingly, but there’s no mistaking that voice, that attitude, that general aura of ‘fuck around and find out.’
Yeji throws back the shot with 0 problem, slamming the empty glass on the table with a decisive clink.
Behind her, Irya and Jimin hover like backup, taking in the scene with varying levels of amusement.
“Surprise.” Yeji grins, sharp and protective. “Happy birthday, dickhead,” she adds, nodding at Jungkook. “Mind if we crash the party?”

a/n: Please be gentle with me I haven’t written anything proper in like 2 years lmao. But I’m currently obsessed with windbreaker and figured I’d take matters into my own hands for creating some content for these boys. Enjoy some spicy headcannons! You know the drill, 18+ content MDNI.
⋅⊰∙∘☽༓☾∘∙⊱⋅•⋅⋅•⋅⊰∙∘☽༓☾∘∙⊱⋅•⋅☾☼☽⋅•⋅⊰∙∘☽༓☾∘∙⊱⋅
-Sakura is a damn mess. I love this boy so much but he is. Because lets be honest, even getting together with Sakura was a project. This poor baby never even had someone show him friendship let alone love.
-(Slight Manga Spoilers) Sakura has gone to Togame for help before when it came to the battle with Noroshi, and Togame has proven himself to be someone Sakura can rely on. Sakura treats everything like a fight, this is no different.
-Togame, in comparison, had much more experience. Being in Shishitoren was a lot on Togame before he met Sakura, so he had his fair share of sexual partners to relieve some stress.
-Sakura was new to relying on others, and even newer to asking for help. His face a bright red and a deep furrow in his brows. Togame took one look at his expression, eyebrows raising in curiosity. “What’s up Sakura, you good?” He had asked lazy crooked smile in place, tough he’d be lying if he wasn’t a bit concerned.
-Sakura’s scowl only deepened in response. “I need your help with something.” When Togame had urged him to go on, between clenched teeth he had asked him to help him pleasing his partner.
-To say Togame was shocked would be an understatement. Sakura’s furrow in his brow deepened. “Listen, I know your much more experienced than I am, I just.. I want to make sure she feels good too. But I fucking swear one smart ass comment and I’ll beat your ass into next week. You got it?” Togame’s eyes softened he knew how Sakura was, how hard it was for him to ask for help. He must really care for you. He agreed without a second thought.
-It wasn’t long before he found himself in your shared bedroom. His eyes wide at your form clad in nothing but a cute matching set the both of your cheeks adorned with the same bright red hue. He had to remind himself why he was here. He was here to help his friend, but gods were you so damn beautiful.
You felt so exposed, tears collecting on your lashes, as Togame has you spread open for Sakura. Your back resting against Togame’s chest, your thighs hooked over his, fully exposing your dripping center to Sakura’s hungry gaze. Togame’s long fingers drawing lazy circles over your needy clit. Your essence was dripping from your opening onto the sheets below, it had felt like Togame had been teasing your for hours, mind already swimming and neither of them had even filled your cunt. Togame’s other hand gently thumbing at your nipple, had you wiggling desperately in his grasp.
“See, Sakura, you need to take your time. You see how much of a mess her pretty pussy is making?” He chuckles, deep and breathy, right into your ear. “All that wetness is gonna make it feel so much better for the both of you. Plus just see for yourself how sexy it sounds”
Sakura felt like he was going to explode, his cheeks radiating warmth with how red they were, his cock straining against his pants, aching for attention. All Sakura could do is nod eyes locked on your dripping cunt. “Go ahead Sakura, slowly slip two fingers inside, that’s it, see how easy it is?” he grins at the look on Sakura’s face at the squelching sound your cunt makes, coupled with the sound that falls from your lips at the feeling of his fingers stretching your once empty cunt. “sh-shut the fuck up I know how to put my fingers inside, asshole” Sakura grumbles, but he couldn’t deny Togame was right, they’ve never slipped in with such ease before.
Togame chuckles once more. “Oh she’s so responsive, how adorable~” Sakura’s eyes are wide, he’s never heard you make that sound before, he quickly gets drunk on your reactions, fingers gliding in and out of your cunt with ease with how wet you were. Togame continues to guide Sakura, telling him just how to position his fingers in such a way that he is repeatedly hitting the spot deep inside you that has your vision going white.
“Oh! H-Haruka, right there, please please I’m gonna~” You cry out, embarrassed at how loud your volume had gotten as you beg for release. Togame finally picks up speed, his fingers no longer drawing lazy patterns but circling your clit faster now. “That’s it doll, don’t hold back, show Sakura how good he’s making you feel.” Sakura watches intently, mesmerized, feeling your walls clamp down on his fingers body trembling as he and Togame’s fingers guide you through your orgasm. Sakura surging forward, lips claiming yours hungrily, swallowing your moans. Coming down from you high, breaths panting as you try and calm your racing heart and trembling thighs.
“Alright Sugar, I think your ready for the main event.” Both you and Sakura’s eyes widen at Togame’s words, you were both in for a long night.
Umemiya & Sugishita
-Let’s be honest here, Sugishita is trusting NO ONE other than Umemiya. He hold so much respect for him and I feel like if he’s going to anyone its him.
-I feel like his partner also spends plenty of time with Umemiya, so it wouldn’t be a stranger who is being invited into their bedroom. A good bit of Sugishita’s time is spent helping Umemiya in the garden or with meetings, so its safe to say that his partner spends a good bit of their time on the rooftop with them.
-Sugishita also knows that Umemiya will be gentle and not push any boundaries that him or his partner are uncomfortable with. He finds some relief knowing Umemiya isn’t going to go all sadistic on his partner.
-That being said Sugishita is still so nervous to ask for help. He’s worried in some way he’d be disappointed in him for not being able to fulfill his partners needs. Umemiya is so caught off-guard when he asks too, Sugishita rarely ever asks for help so as the leader and viewing Furin’s members as his siblings of course he’s happy to help! Though Sugishita’s next words were ones he couldn’t have guessed even if he tried.
-When the time comes, and the three of you are in the comfort of your bed, they dwarf your frame. These boys are BIG, Sugishita is 6’3” and Umemiya is 6’2” so honeybun I’m praying for you for real.
-Umemiya is so patient, his gentle words guiding both of your actions, he is fully in hold of the reins. He has the both of you hanging on to his every word.
“That’s it Sugishita, be gentle, ease into her. She how much easier it slides in after warming her up?” Umemiya’s voice is tender, guiding Sugishita’s actions and easing your mind. His deep baritone spoken directly in your ear has you letting out shudder. Sugishita lets out a deep groan, you were always tight, normally struggling to take his girth. But your velvet walls pulled him in the wetness from the last hour Umemiya spent between your thighs making him slide in with ease.
“So.. fucking.. tight” Sugishita grunts, heeding his mentor’s word, resisting the urge to slam into you desperate to feel more of you. You whimper at the stretch, Umemiya titling your chin upwards, lips meeting your own. His tongue exploring your mouth, large hands roaming your body. One hand circles a sensitive nipple, the other has his fingers tracing mindless shapes on your clit. Effectively distracting you from the stretch of Sugishita entering your tight heat. The both of you moan loudly as Sugishita bottoms out, feeling filled to the brim and he hadnt even gotten started. “That’s it, give her a moment, let her get accustomed. Its okay sweetheart, poor little thing your tight little pussy is so full isn’t it baby?” The gentle tone of Umemiya’s voice contradicts the absolute filth that leaves his mouth. His words having you wiggling your hips desperate for more. “Please, Kyo, more.. please fuck me”
Umemiya grins, the desperate tone in your voice has his own cock straining against the tight fabric of his boxers. “Go on Sugishita, she asked so nicely, are you gonna make her beg?” He teases, having both of your cheeks flushing pink, as Sugishia begins to move. His hips rutting into yours, your head being tossed back, resting on Umemiya’s shoulder. “Please.. please.. touch me Ume” You beg, your voice sounding foreign to your own ears in your desperation.
The older man grins, lips attaching themselves to your neck, his fingers resuming their ministrations on your sensitive spots. Letting out a deep growl, Sugishita picks up the pace hips slamming into your own. “You see that Sugishita, you see how deep you are inside her?” He teases, pointing out the bulge in your tummy where he can practically see just how deep he was thrusting inside you. He gritted his teeth willing himself not to cum, not yet. Not when you felt so good, not when you were making such beautiful sounds.
Your hand reaches behind you, slipping inside Umemiya’s boxers, your small hand wrapping around his cock, giving an experimental tug not wanting to leave him out. He curses into your neck. His hips thrusting into you hand as you begin pumping his length in your hand. Sugishita couldn’t take it anymore, you felt too good, your sounds doing too much to him. You too were on the edge. “Kyo, Kyo, please gonna..” You come undone with a cry, Sugishita matching your actions, spilling himself into your waiting cunt. After catching your breath, you and Sugshita have a silent conversation with your eyes, his response being an approving nod and a grunt, as you turn your half lidded gaze up to Umemiya.
“Ume.. please fuck me.. wanna make you feel good too.” The white haired male’s eyes widening at your forwardness, but as he said to Sugishita earlier, he wasn’t going to make you beg when you asked so nicely.
-See these two here… I think this arrangement is a bit different from the others. Unlike Sakura & Sugishita, it isn't Nirei going to Suo for help for his partner, but rather Suo helping Nirei get some experience under his belt.
-Suo is already training Nirei, taking him under his wing to show him how to defend himself, to him this was just another lesson for him to give the blonde.
-Nirei was confused when Suo had texted him telling him to meet him at his apartment rather than their usual meeting spot for training. Regardless, he followed instruction, curious as to where Suo lived. After all these years of knowing him, he still only knew what Suo let him know about him he was a mystery to him.
-He met Nirei at the door his signature closed eye smile adorning his face, laced with mischief, as he led him inside. “y/n isnt here, Suo?” Nirei had asked curiously, also with a twinge of nervousness.
-Suo was extremely perceptive, he noticed the cherry red that dusted Nirei’s cheeks whenever you greeted him or made idle chatter. How could he not? You were breathtaking after all. So Suo would throw one of his closest friends a bone. Tilting his head with a smile. “Oh no, she’s here, just in the bedroom waiting for our lesson.”
-Nirei didnt know what he was expecting when he followed Suo into their bedroom, but he nearly fainted seeing you sat on the bed waiting patiently in nothing but your bra and panties. Before he could profusely apologize for catching you in such a state of undress and run, his friend had placed a firm hand on his shoulder. “Today’s lesson is going to be a bit different, today me and y/n are going to be teaching you about inflicting pleasure rather than pain.”
-The nervous blonde thought his heart might just beat right out of his chest, was this a cruel prank from you both? Had Suo caught him staring at you and decided to give him a humiliating punishment?
-He would be a liar if he said he hadn’t imagined being with you before. If he hadn’t spent late nights fucking his fist, imagining it was you touching him instead. If he didn’t whimper your name in his pillow as he came.
-But when your big doe eyes met his, a delicate hand reached out to welcome him into the bed with a comforting nod of your head offering your consent, who was he to say no?
“He’s awfully eager isn’t he darling? Oops it seems like your mouths a bit full, how silly of me~” Suo chuckled, tone in his voice teasing, as he stuffed your mouth full of his cock. His eye softening as he looked down at you, fingers carding gently before tugging just the way he knew you liked, forcing more of his cock down your throat.
Your moans sent vibrations around Suo’s cock, he was right, Nirei was surely eager. His tongue lapping at your pussy like a man starved. His inexperienced tongue was everywhere and nowhere at the same time. Suo needing to remind him to take breaths. Said man, chuckled once more, teasing voice filling the room.
“Nirei, she isn’t going anywhere we’re just getting started, make sure your focusing on her clit, that’s a boy just like, fuck, just like that.” The tail end of his sentence he wasn’t sure which of you it was directed at, the way you bobbed your head taking him expertly in your throat had the normally composed man losing his bearings. Using his grip on your hair he lifted you off his length.
“Come here.” He instructs the blonde, who reluctantly removed his face from its position buried between your thighs. You beckon Nirei to you with your hand in his, pressing your lips together in a heated kiss. Tongue quickly overtaking his own, allowing him to taste Suo on his tongue, a stark reminder of who you belonged to. This seemed to please your boyfriend, enough for him to slot himself between your legs. His cock sliding in with ease due to the wetness from Nirei’s saliva and your own arousal.
You moan, desperately into Nieri’s mouth, head being tossed back at the feeling of Suo’s cock filling you so deeply. His groan making both if you shudder. No time is wasted, you were quick to replace the empty feeling in your mouth with the blonde’s cock. He let out a loud desperate moan as the warmth of your mouth welcomes him in, hollowing your cheeks as you begin to suck. Suo sets a brutal pace from the beginning, determined to have all three of you coming undone at the same time.
You and Nirei’s moans and whimpers bounce off the walls, leaving no question of who was solely in control of you both in this moment. Suo felt the familiar spasm of your walls around him, indicating your impending release. “That’s it my love, come on, let go for me. Show Nirei how beautiful you look coming undone on my cock.”
He’d be lying if he said he wasn’t close, the stimulation of your earlier ministrations bringing him to the edge faster than he normally would. Nirei is the first of you to come, a loud cry falling from his lips, tears streaming down his cheeks as he unloads into your waiting mouth. Nearly coming a second time just from the sight of you swallowing his cum, just so you would be able to cry out Suo’s name as you came on his cock. Suo was the last to topple over the ledge, your orgasm triggering his own. Hands gripping your plush hips in an iron grip as he paints your walls white. The room is silent save for the sounds of panting, all three of you catching your breaths from such intense releases. Suo’s voice is the first to break the silence.
“Alright Nirei, go on, if you clean her up real nice with your tongue I might just let you fuck her pretty cunt after.~”

ᯓ★ thinking about academic-rival!rin
“you…you’re my rival!” an angry, red-faced itoshi rin had foolishly declared in second grade, after you’d scored a perfect 100 on the latest math test—he’d only received a 98.
rin hadn’t seriously meant it back then, but you took it very much personally. over the ten years which ensued, the two of you had developed an odd dynamic. it was intense, to say the least. you took the competition very seriously, taking every advanced course your school had to offer, and rin followed right alongside you. the obvious result was matching schedules; each year you’d chosen virtually identical classes. you’d decided to hate him, and your rivalry was no secret either, with your and rin’s name always occupying two of the top three spots in class rankings. despite that, he’d never done anything to suggest dislike for you. even the teachers had taken to teasing the two of you, they seemed to love pairing the two of you for group projects, watching you both struggle to outperform the other on presentation day.
“not again,” you groan as you realize that rin was your partner. rin mirrors your displeased expression from across the classroom. your english teacher smiles at you both, thoroughly entertained.
“you two will be assigned romeo and juliet,” she says, feigning indifference. you swear she’s trying not to laugh. the rest of your class inevitably snickers: of course the two who hate each other would have a blast presenting the iconic love story!
“no, no, no, no!” you find yourself telling rin as you pace around his room, pointing at his computer then back to him, anger evident in your tone. “juliet is not stupid, she’s only trying her best to save herself from never seeing romeo again, and inevitably divorcing paris,” you exhale. of course rin couldn’t be trusted with the character analysis of juliet—he was so cold that he probably couldn’t comprehend the idea of love. in your fit of annoyance, you’d walked closer to rin, fully invading his personal space. to be precise, your faces were barely inches away, but you only continue your rant. “you probably don’t even get what love is, just let me do the analysis!” you huff, arms crossing.
you’re met with his clear azure gaze, and, weirdly, he laughs, low and melodic.
“do you really think that?” rin asks, leaning in just a bit closer, breath tickling your nose. “that i’m not capable of love?”
“well-“ you falter, unsure of your answer. and why the hell was he so close to you? why did his cologne smell infuriatingly good, was it le labo santal 33?
“why do you act like you hate me?” he whispers. there’s no hint of mockery in his voice, it’s genuine.
“because i do?” your voice shakes. you’re not even confident of that—but wasn’t he supposed to be your rival?
“hmm, but i don’t think so,” he breathes. his fingers move to ghost up your face and cup your jawline. you’re hesitant to move away; honestly, you don’t want to move. the tension in the air is thick enough to slice and you can’t help but indulge in the enigma of itoshi rin—what would be his next move?
maybe it was all just a ploy to make sure you failed english?
“here, let’s pretend you’re juliet and i’m romeo,” he says suddenly, still hovering above your face. “since you think my analysis is so bad, maybe i’m a hands-on learner.” his hand trails down your waist as he speaks, his touch dizzying. you were probably malfunctioning, because you should have seen the red lights and sirens in your head. yet you’re frozen still, all you can do is stare back stupidly wide-eyed at him, letting him slot his lips against yours and you hate how perfect he feels, how he tastes faintly like the peppermint gum that you love.
it feels like sparks rushing through your veins, you feel high on something else entirely. you feel him smirking into the kiss, like he’d known all along that you would fold the second he tried something. because you had never truly hated him, not one bit.
you give into his touch, into the kiss, as rin pulls you closer, fingers skimming through your hair. rin was the smarter one, unfortunately. he’d known that your little rivalry was only a product of misplaced feelings, because how could the second grade him tell you that he liked you, admired that you were smart?
“you win, rin,” you admit once he lets go of you, gasping for air.
“…i thought so.” he replies. “is now a good time to mention that i might’ve bribed our english teacher for this project?”
“you what?”
