Just a decade ago, behavioural science was in its infancy. Today, it is a well-established discipline that many institutions are integrating into policies and programmes.

People do not always behave in predictable ways and human behaviour is often shaped by a variety of factors, including biases and mental shortcuts. If United Nations entities strengthen their behavioural science capabilities, we can increase the impact of our strategies and tailor our initiatives better to contexts.

The world has continued to grow apart on various topical issues that touch every aspect of human relations with others. Today��s world is highly divisive, divided opinions on climate, sustainable leadership, racial sentiments, wars and continuous threats to peaceful coexistence with other people. It is difficult to be in harmony with another who shares divided opinions on these issues. The narrative has shifted ground, it is either you agree with one’s opinion to coexist with them or you don’t agree with them, to automatically become an enemy. It cut across different endeavour, it is chain of connection that tends to form artificial coexistence, unity in diversity should be respected at all time, so far no one has caused the life of another to be in danger.

Peaceful coexistence of human relations should top priority of any progressive government across the globe, where the ruled are protected it creates enabling environment that brings progress and prosperity. A little bit of tolerance can shatter divided communities across the globe, it gives you the clearer view of human kind, you don’t necessarily have to share blood relation to recognize one as a family, circumstances can recognize one as family, moments can recognise one as family, if you open up your mind to see it from this perspective, it will broaden the humanity in you. You don’t need to share the same political affiliations with another to have human relations with them, it shuts the door due to differences, you might be limiting yourself from living up to your fullest potential.

Healthy human relations enable you to have rethink about your extreme views, which serve as a threat to human kind. Recently after President Donald Trump won his second bid for re-election, there is text flying around social media which FBI is still investigating the originator of that text, targeting black people, following campaign issues that dominated Trump’s campaign, on largest deportation operation in history of America. This is not in any way to encourage illegal influx into America, but the effect it will have to the rest of black communities and potential clampdown of people living legally. There human relations with other race will drop and sentiments will take reign all day.

It has been widely acknowledged in theory that injustice anywhere is injustice everywhere, far from practice. It is about time people began to anticipate positive responses in all situations, without reserved attitude of revenge pending the outcome. When it happens it suffers social and personal disconnection with others, and people struggle to have proper communication. And it puts you far away from reality, as you continue to chase something that lacks any sought of value to your self-improvement. Healthy human relations open your mind to partnership, love, friendship and empathy, these are positives you can take when you’re in that space in your life and embrace it.

Wealth, Experience, Looks, Power or Education can earn you initial 'Good Impression' but respect is something you always have to work for to earn. You cannot treat others with disrespect, contempt and disregard and then turn around to demand 'I deserve to be respected!' People may be polite to your face, but that speaks more about their manners. People may greet you kindly, because that is how they are. But that does not guarantee that they will respect you and trust you. Someone said, 'Your branding is what people are saying behind your back!' and it also applies perfectly to respect. If you treat others unkindly, rudely, arrogantly, there is only to a point people will tolerate your inappropriate behavior and then you will be alienated, without even being informed. When you cross certain boundaries, you also ascertain that people walk away from you, maintain their distance and do not induldge you at any point. This happens when they have no respect for you and it happens because you did not respect them and their boundaries. Respect is earned, not demanded. Investors/People tend to invest in mutual funds that have showcased good performance in the past on the assumption that the future prospect would be representative of the past performance. Thus, a larger volume of purchases occur in the top quintile of past annual returns. This may seem justifiable on a superficial level as past performance is an easy metric to judge potential returns. The issue, however, lies with the fact that investors tend to be chimerically buoyant about the possibility that these funds will perform well in the future as they have performed well in the past. Sometimes these funds may perform exemplarily well not due to the fundmanager, it may simply be due to chance.

However, an investor may contemplate it differently and invest in it for better returns and this how one could succumb to the representative bias.
