I see so many people feeling all smug at those "damn conservatives who will finally see the mistake they made!" And you know a while ago I would've agreed, but seeing it all now, I can't. I can't be happy, I can't be smug, there's nothing to celebrate.

And the thing is, I'm not even American, but I just know, everyday looking at the news, that things are getting bad, and they're getting bad for all of us. It hasn't reached me yet, but how long till it does?

• Look man, they’re THE kpop global sensation of all time. They canonically live in a Korean Avengers Watchtower for goodness’ sake! Nobody can tell me they wouldn’t transform one of the many floors of their uber penthouse to a personal aquarium

• Yes the entire floor is dedicated to housing their various aquatic pets and yes they call it the Ocean Autism Floor (shoutout Zoey for the name)

• Speaking of Zoey, she would extensively talk about how one of her favorite spots in all the world is the Monterey Bay Aquarium and how she wishes she could visit it more often because it was such a comfort spot for her the small handful of times she’s visited it growing up, and Rumira instantly wanted to create a place Zoey can experience a fraction of that joy right in the comfort of their own shared home. It was originally just going to be a large fish tank containing some of her favorite species (that girl has marine bio autism and you can NOT tell me otherwise) but the passion project eventually grew to contain a whole multitude of various animals after Zoey got Rumira interested in aquatic animals through all the nature docs, reels, etc etc she’d have them watch with her.

• Thus, what started as just one large fish tank grew into an expansiveeee personal aquarium fully staffed with expert vet techs, enrichment providers, cleaners, etc etc because again, HUNTR/X can very easily afford this and what girlypop would NOT fully realize their exotic pet power fantasy if they had HUNTR/X’s resources?

• Oh you know the celebratory snack party went absolutely CRAZYSTYLE once the city approved all the permits for turning an entire floor of their mega tower into a personal aquarium >:) Zoey had been filling notebook after notebook after notebook with all the critters she plans to finally own >:D

• ^^^^ Rumira are endlessly endeared by Zoey’s boundless excitement and it’s actually incredibly sweet how happy they get from seeing how delighted Zoey is whenever she’s watching the inhabitants of one tank or another, definitely no regrets there! Zoey is hugging both of them so so tight with her frame trembling from pure Special Interest Joy™️ and they’re both veryyy happy to squeeze and cuddle her back to provide some nice pressure and warmth in order to help ground + anchor their gf from being too overwhelmed by euphoria (yes I’m projecting some of my autism tidbits onto Zoey, sue me)

• For Zoey, it’s like, well okay. Some people read out loud to dogs to get over their reading anxiety because a dog doesn’t really judge you, they’re just happy to be here. For her, having writing sessions while vibing with aquatic animals has a similar effect. They don’t judge, they don’t really care, they just continue to swim around doing their own thing. Even if they look strange or off-putting to us humans, they have evolved to best suit their needs and perfectly own up to it. Zoey really, really likes how lots of oceanic occupants reflect all of the colors stuck inside her head with their own sometimes bizarre patterns and are absolutely thriving with it. To have her own personal aquarium is sending her to the moon and back with sooooo much soul-nourishing fulfillment fer various reasons

• When it comes to what types of pets they’d own, to me Zoey likes more ‘oddball’ esque animals, Mira likes more cool and dangerous critters, while Rumi has an affinity for more pretty, cutesy looking ones

• In my heart Zoey has selfies of her and her beloved giant red pacific octopus affectionately wrapped around her arm because that's a Californian native octopus babbyy!! Her name is Baby Red and she's the smartest girl around, Zoey could watch her solve enrichment treat puzzles allll dayyyy

• She is also very attached to the several parrot fish she has in one of the coral reef tanks because they come in very vibrant colors and have these funky ass beaks and they POOP SAND LIKE??? Such a chaotic mishmash of random traits and Zoey is soooo about it

• Mira is deeply bonded with the colorful mantis shrimp she IMMEDIATELY sniped once Zoey infodumped to her about how this lil guy can punch fast enough to boil water and strong enough that it’s the same power as a .22 caliber gun AND THEY CAN SEE SECRET COLORS??? Oohhh Mira was already hooked but the moment her gay ass learned that mantis shrimp are naturally rainbow colored she was already looking up the soonest and easiest way she could obtain one. His name is probably some long punkass one like ‘Pistolwhip Skullcrusher Extinction Event 3000’ or some shit and he’s her son that she loves so, so much

• Oh speaking of Mira, I’m also a huge fan of her having a hugeee soft spot for manta as well as sting rays. These potentially dangerous creatures that are simultaneously so graceful and elegant in their angel flight-like swimming style? But could still rock your ass if you get to close (Rip Steve Irwin gone but never forgotten)? You best believe she got several for the Ocean Autism Floor!!!

• Aw geez I can’t stop thinking about the first time Mira saw a touch tank at a public aquarium with mantas in them and longingly stared so hard that Zoey took pity on her and, firmly grabbing her girl by the hand, dragged her over to a secluded corner of faux rocks. Initially, Mira didn’t want to go to the touch tank since Zoey was already planning to walk past to a different exhibit and this was supposed to be Zoey’s day after all. She didn’t want to pull Zoey off course, esp not for something as dumb and silly as some touch tank like really, it’s no big deal it’s whatever (being denied and shamed as a wild child black sheep by your entire family does that to ya I’m afraid), but hey! Luckily Zoey noticed what caught Mira’s attention and is here to physically drag Mira outta her comfort zone!

• After some encouragement from Zoey, Mira would read the signage explaining how to properly pet a manta not once not twice but thrice over to make sure she knows exactly which parts not to pet. Even so, she would still hesitate, afraid she’d mess up somehow and end up hurting the poor thing since they’re actually so delicate. Taking the lead once again, Zoey would ask, “Here, do you trust me?” and it’s like. Of course Mira does. How could she not?

• After getting confirmation, Zoey would gently grab one of Mira’s hands and guide it into the water towards a manta ray about to swim by. Mira stiffens fer just a second when she feels her fingertips brush along the smooth flesh, but Zoey’s sweet, “See, you got it!” helps soften her nerves enough to follow along with Zoey’s guiding hand and HOLY SHIT SHE’S ACTUALLY PETTING A MANTA RAY OOHHHH THIS IS SO, SOOO SICK

• As Mira is having the time of her life reaching out to pet another ray about to swim by- and make no mistake, she really, REALLY is enjoying herself right now, she truly gets Zoey’s ocean critter joy now, and Zoey herself is looking at Mira’s barely contained emotional expression with SO MUCH love shining in her big brown eyes- neither she nor Zoey separate their joined hands, both of them more than content with the way Zoey’s thumb rubs along the back of Mira’s hand.

•Zoey hopes it’s okay for her to be this clingy as she passionately starts infodumping about rays, and Mira hopes she doesn’t let go of her hand anytime soon as she intently listens <333 oh ‘loves to cling x loves to be clung to’ Zoemira they could never make me hate you <333

• Ohhh you know what? Eels. Mira would love eels, and so does Zoey! I think they freak Rumi out just a little but she’s supportive regardless (smth about their dead-eye stare gives her the creeps)

• But know what animal Rumi does really, really like? Seahorses! They’re so small and cute and she gets a little emotional over how they entwine their tails together to always stay connected. Huntrix definitely has several different species in various tanks and they’re peak girlypop

• Zoey once did a 24-hour streaming challenge during the hiatus to try and capture one of the male seahorse’s birth live on stream. She had a wholeass PC, desk, gaming chair, etc etc set up down near the tank with bean bags and everything for when Rumira would pop by as guest stars to Zoey’s stream. Surrounded by various snacks and energy drinks, Zoey would kill time during the stream with karaoke requests, gaming, QnAs, watch parties of nature docs, live reactions to stuff that’s been heavily requested, and what have you until the seahorse baby dad finally gave birth (it was a VERY momentous occasion full of confetti poppers and everything)

• Post stream I need to see Zoerumi bonding time where they’re tryna come up with goofy names fer all the seahorse babies despite 1) there’s a metric fuckton of them 2) there’s no way they’re gonna be able to tell which is which so giving them names is kind of pointless

• Do they care though? Of course not! Give me more goofy Zoerumi enabling each other’s silliness-filled shenanigans, Rumi’s got an arm around Zoey’s waist as Zoey cuddles into her side and points out another microscopic baby seahorse and giggles out a playful, “Ooohhh what about that one?” and Rumi’s got her brows fully scrunched as she replied with a deeply thoughtful voice, “Hm, looks like a Stewart to me”.

•Zoey can’t explain it- maybe it’s because Rumi looks so serious right now, maybe its the sheer concept of a tiny fucking seahorse baby named Stewart of all things- but she can’t help but burst into peals of laughter and press her face into Rumi’s neck with so much radiating joy, the curve of her smiling cheek highlighted by the bluish illumination of the seahorse tank as her fingers twist into the fabric of Mira’s jacket a certain clothing-stealing gf is currently wearing

• Later on, Zoey is yammering about the funky looking frogfish she’s SO SO SOOO excited to import while Rumi is nodding along as they sit together watching the beautiful, softly glowing jellyfish Rumi recently got. Both of them are holding hands as they watch carefree jellyfish float on by when Rumi steals a glance over to her girlfriend and is proceeded to be shot right in the chest with pure lovestruckness at the sheer wonder and passion in Zoey’s animated movements and voice and downright cuteful face. ‘Oh, how lucky I am to be able to love you like this,’ type beat, Rumi’s very grateful she has the privilege to witness and fall for Zoey’s most mundane moments (it’s not mundane to her, of course, because when you love someone even the most mundane moments become heartfelt treasures <333)

• Tbh jellyfish would be the animal where their preferences would intersect since they can be quite deadly while also simultaneously incredibly beautiful and even misunderstood at times! Polytrix definitelyyyy have some gorgeous tanks with Montery, fried egg, firework jellyfish, etc etc

• That being said, not to swerve into hurt/comfort territory, butttt :))) can you imagine Mira got a tank with some lionfish in it (because duh! They’re so deadly and so, so sick) but sometimes Rumi will go to the tank by herself to watch them swim around. She’ll sit there in a slight daze, admiring those iconic patterns lionfish are praised fer, patterns that many remark as beautiful, and maybe if Rumi tries hard enough and stares at the peacefully swimming fish long enough maybe she’ll start to see her own stripey patterns as pretty too (she doesn’t, but its worth an honest shot) :))

• I think Rumi would relate to lionfish a lot, actually. They’re an invasive species known to run rampant due to a lack of natural predators and will bring any environment they end up in to ruin due to unchecked overconsumption. To prevent this, people are often encourage to hunt and kill lionfish on sight. A deadly thing that deserves a merciless and swift death lest it hurt everyone else, they even have similar patterns. Rumi never thought she’d break down over random fish of all things, but here we are :)!

• I did say this is hurt/comfort, so imagine if you will Mira, who wanted to visit her lionfish, eventually finding Rumi standing in front of the tank, one shaky hand pressed to the glass while the other is trying to scrub away at stray tears. She immediately rushes over, careful not to crowd too much into Rumi’s space (Zoemira learned the hard way how… reactive Rumi gets when it comes to her feeling caged in). When she asks what’s wrong and how can she help, Rumi just gives non-committal grunts and headshakes as her answer. Mira can read people quite well, an expert at it really, and knows that when she’s like this, Rumi won’t be opening up anytime soon. Still, she tries to give support however she can, and when she lifts up her arms in a wordless offer, Rumi doesn’t hesitate to rush into her embrace and hide away her tear-streaked face into Mira’s shoulder.

• The moment Rumi is bundled up and secured in her arms, the dancer tightly hugs her like she could smush the broken pieces of her leader’s heart back together through sheer force of will. They stay like this for a while, swaying a little in place with the unjudging lionfish as their only witness to the muffled sobs Rumi lets out, and that’s okay <333

•The fact that lionfish are encouraged to be killed on sight due to being deadly, environment ruining animals and Mira chooses to house some in the aquarium anyways because SHE likes them, dangers and invasiveness and all. She’s well aware of what they are, and she still actively chooses to love them on purpose.

• Anywaysss :D I fully believe the Ocean Autism Floor gets to the point where they’re adopting fairly small species of sharks. Some cuties such as dogfish and black tipped reef sharks, possibly leopard sharks if we’re just gonna full send it and say they have the space for it. Maybe Zoey just really wants a cool shark tank and is like, “Hold on we can afford it lemme just-“ and whips out a chart topping single that can, heh, singlehandedly fund the new shark tank. I believe in her!

• You know what? Let’s just full send it. Zoey is working her ass off writing up new bangers for Huntrix and recycling unused song concepts for ghostwriting (you can not tell me Zoey wouldn’t be a downright phenomenal ghostwriter esp for raps that don’t fit Huntrix’s brand/style but would perform fantastically in the States under a different artist) because she has the greatest motivation of them all: justifiably affording a personal turtle sanctuary

• This turtle sanctuary is Zoey’s personal heaven. I truly do not think I need to elaborate how much she cherishes it. Girly even made side accounts dedicated to the sanctuary’s occupants and their little personality quirks and just being silly lil goofs she loves more than life

• To support a fundraiser for raising awareness about ocean pollution and subsequent cleanup efforts, HUNTR/X created a charity raffle people can donate to (the more they donate, the more tickets they get in their name!) with all proceeds going to the fundraiser. The winning prize included a private fan signing + personal tour of the HUNTR/X aquarium the girlies would sometimes post about in Instagram stories, mention in livestreams, etc etc. It’s safe to say when it came to donations, their fans blew it outta the water hehe

• Listen man you gotta trust me when I say the acoustics in some parts of Ocean Autism Floor go absolutely hard, just smth about belting your heart out with silly sea critters as your live audience just gives you an automatic +17 in performance and you best BELIEVE polytrix like to give their pets a fun little show sometimes as a way to unwind after a long day

• Not completely aquarium related but I do love the idea of Derpy, a wholeass demon tiger, being the easiest of Polytrix’s pets to take care of because when compared to their entire PERSONAL AQUARIUM, he doesn’t even need much??? He’s really easy to provide enrichment for and doesn’t even eat anything, taking care of Derpy is a breeze in comparison to the intense care that goes into a lottt of the ocean-native pets they own

• One final headcanon (for now!) and it’s very fitting to put at the very bottom. Despite their ABSURD amount of money, Polytrix don’t own any animals from the deep sea because those guys are realllyyy hard to take care of properly with all the specific conditions you gotta meet (correct pressure, temperature, lack of light, etc etc). That being said, if they could Zoemira ABSOLUTELY would have tanks dedicated to anglerfish and other scary as fuck looking abyssal dwellers and honestly Rumi is really, really glad it never worked out

Watching Pyramid Game has convinced me that no genre does gay like straight k-drama thrillers. They got me with The Devil Judge, bullied me with 5-second sapphics in Squid Game, then 5 more second sapphics in All of Us are Dead, shattered me into a million pieces watching Weak Hero Class 1, made me question my sanity watching Bloodhounds, got me again with Beyond Evil, then tried to circle the block with 3-second gays in The 8 Show. I think Pyramid Game might be the show that finishes me off. I've never behaved like this in my life.

Like there's a real queer friend group of girls lying on a roof calling each other ugly. There's no better representation than that.

Remember; Antisemites are Conspiracy Theorists

I feel like many of us forget that a key component of antisemitism is being a conspiracy theorist, and so I wanted to do a write up on it and draw parallels between what I've seen here on Tumblr and in my professional career.

One thing to keep in mind and remember is that antisemitism is not just bigotry and wanting to commit violence against Jews, it also includes conspiracy theories about Jews and everything relating to them as a key component.

I've noticed a number of similar behaviors and patterns in pseudoscience/anti-science conspiracy communities and antisemitic conspiracy theorists that might help elucidate why we can't make a lot of headway with certain people and why some accounts have such a big following and impact.

1) Often we find impactful conspiracy theorists pretend to be part of the group they are targeting.

Whether this is the person creating the conspiracy itself, a popular account, or an influencer, there is the likelihood that they will pass themselves off as a member of the group they are spreading misinformation about.

In the sciences we often see this with wellness gurus, naturopaths, homeopaths, chiropractors, and so on. They pretend that they're a "doctor" or "scientist" and have the same education, training, and expertise. They use a bunch of fake degrees/diplomas from diploma mills and get a bunch of fake certifications from uncredited organizations to add a letters after their name to add an air of legitimacy. They taught to use jargon that sounds scientific to the lay audience in these programs, but don't actually understand what they're saying. They just know enough to convince others that they're educated on the topic they're pretending to be an expert about.

The problem is that they will inevitably enter into spaces with actual members of the group who are verified experts and in doing so they will get called out rather quickly.

Inevitably this leads to their defense of calling the actual expert some sort of shill or mouth piece for propaganda that is trying to silence them and the "Truth". The actual expert is part of the conspiracy to keep them silent and not expose the "Truth". It does not matter how much you go into the conspiracy theorist's background and breakdown why they're not actually an expert and falsified/purchased their credentials, they will maintain that they are the one speaking "Truth" (often because they're "rebelling against the system" or they have "secret information").

Often they will call upon their followers to provide anecdotal evidence and bring in to question what actually qualifies "expertise" and use a bunch of goalposts and mental gymnastics to try and justify the grifter and the conspiracy. We seen this with them making accusations of the people debunking them using a No True Scotsman fallacy, but this in itself is a fallacious rhetorical device of improperly applying a fallacy against legitimate criticism. It's a common debate tactic of people who are lying to incorrectly apply fallacies against their critics.

However, there is the caveat that sometimes the conspiracy theorist was an expert prior to becoming what they currently are and typically they had some sort out downfall and disgrace that led them there. At some point their ethics and morals shifted and they now instead push and pursue a grift. The best example of this is Andrew Wakefield who used to be a medical researcher but sacrificed his ethics and morals for a payout. Another example is one I mentioned the other day, Simon Goddek, who used to be a biotechnology researcher that went off the deep end in regards to COVID and is now in Brazil selling unlicensed supplements.

In this regards, the former expert turned grifter will rely upon their former expertise (that is even removed by the accrediting body in some cases) to give themselves an air of authority on their pseudoscience. This becomes more and more egregious over time as they make claims about "research backed" products that they are selling, but are always unlicensed and untested things with maybe an in vitro study (done in a petri dish) to maybe back it up.

In all cases it becomes something similar to Nobel Prize Syndrome where the former expert is now spreading misinformation about things well outside their expertise and inevitably spreads a conspiracy about why its not accepted or other related things.

Now, in regards to antisemites here on Tumblr, and across social media, we have had a number of antisemites enter our community under the guise of "as a Jew" "anti-Zionists" and then spread rampant and vitriolic rhetoric and conspiracy theory. There are, what I consider, three varieties of this particular false "expert".

First is the obvious Racefaker/Jewfaker. This is the person who pretends to be Jewish or an Israeli Jew and is a complete and utter caricature of what either entails. They post nothing relating to Judaism or being Israeli, fighting antisemitism (even though they claim to be), and actually help spread antisemitic conspiracy and hatred. Even when outed with receipts that they have a history of faking (and are continuing to do so), they and their audience ignore the evidence (even if they requested it themselves). This is akin to the pseudo-experts in the sciences going "well prove it!" in regards to their fake credentials and then when the shoe drops they just call the person providing the evidence a shill or propagandist (in the case of Fakers it's usually "Zionist" or in some cases "Nazi").

The second is the "as a Jew" that maybe celebrated holidays once upon a time and very intermittently with their family, and quickly left Judaism and everything related behind as it meant very little to them. They had no connection to the community and culture and moved on. They only use "as a Jew" when it's convenient for them to shut down any argument, especially if they are being accused of antisemitism. We have several examples of this with various tankie accounts that defend the violent antisemitic actions of the Soviet whom at one point were openly practicing neo paganism and then claimed that they celebrated Jewish holidays once upon a time so they could speak as an "authority" (nvm that they deleted their blog to hide their paganism).

The third "as a Jew" is someone who claims to have heritage in their ancestry, but was never raised Jewish and has no connection to Judaism in any capacity beyond this one tenuous thread. They believe that having a drop of DNA relating to the culture means they can speak as an expert/authority.

In all instances these persons speak from ignorance and try to generate a false sense of authority to dismiss claims of antisemitism. The former "as a Jew" abandoned their Judaism, even from a secular stand point, and replaced it with completely different things. They actively sought connections to other groups and had little to no understanding of the culture they left behind. The latter is actively trying to engage in some sort of blood quantum to justify why they should be able to speak over Jewish voices. If you address the fact that neither one are Jews by any standard they then make wild claims about you being antisemitic, denying heritage, and other such things that no one would make about any other ethnic group.

These types of dismissal allow them to maintain their fake expertise because they and their audience already don't trust Jews, so any evidence provided would be ignored anyway. Just like the Racefaker/Jewfaker, the fake "as a Jew", the no connection "as a Jew" and their audience already believe in antisemitic conspiracy theories so any evidence provided that proves the person is faking or falsely presenting themself is part of the conspiracy. Furthermore, just like the pseudo-expert calls an actual scientist or doctor a shill, the Racefaker/Jewfaker and "as a Jew" calls the Jewish person addressing their behavior a range of insults or terms that indicates to their audience that the individual(s) is(are) part of the conspiracy.

And more importantly, none of them can actually replicate the nuances that come with being Jewish and living and growing up in the culture. There are certain behaviors, terms, norms, and standards that Jewish people grew up with regardless of sect or practice. This cannot be replicated by Jewfakers and "as a Jew" persons.

2) The use and defense of improper terminology.

Another big indicator that you're dealing with a Fake Expert spreading conspiracy theories and misinformation is the usage of terms in the incorrect manner or terms that have been rejected by the targeted community.

In regards to pseudoscience the most common terms are energy, frequency, quantum, detox, natural, and organic. In the scientific community these all have clearly defined definitions and parameters that constitute them. The Fake Expert uses them vaguely with no clear definition (or scientific explanation) as to how the mechanism they're applied to actually works. Often they're used to make something sound "smarter" than it actually is (especially quantum).

Anyone using these terms in this manner can be quickly identified as someone who doesn't know what they're talking about.

With regards to JewFakers, there are terms that they use that are indicators they are not what they are pretending to be and are simply antisemitic conspiracy theorists that hate Jews.

Any account that calls a Jew (or Jews) a "Nazi" or slurs created by white supremacists is immediately a red flag. These terms are not something anyone who is Jewish with any connection to the community would actually use. We have our own intracommunity words to describe another Jewish person who behaves in such a manner, but those particular ones are not them.

Why?

Because a core component of Nazism (and by extension much of white supremacy) is antisemitism. A Jewish person existing as a Jew and all that it entails cannot be a "Nazi" by the very definition of the ideology unless they are specifically trying to conduct heinous acts against other Jews in a specific manner using specific rhetoric. Just because a Jewish person might actually commit a heinous act or be a bad person does not make them a "Nazi", even if those heinous acts are conducted against non-Jews. It is a clearly defined word with a set definition that has requirements to meet it.

As such, anyone using "Nazi" or related terminology to describe Jews, especially Jews they don't like, immediately outs themself. Especially if they are claiming to be a member of that community because they acting contrary to all the cultural norms and behaviors.

3) they believe a single occurrence validates their entire conspiracy.

When sweet wormwood (Artemesia annua) was found to effectively treat parasites in an empirically supported study the pseudoscience community went nuts. They used it as validation for all the naturopathy, homeopathy, and other stuff they believed in. Suddenly because one plant was effective then everything else was, including practices not relating to plants at all. It didn't matter that these other plants and practices had no evidence to support the claims surrounding them, one thing was validated and so everything was validated.

We see a similar behavior amongst antisemites where if there is an occurrence that validates their belief that Jews are bad then everything is suddenly validated. It does not matter if the other things have been properly debunked and were falsified maliciously or intentionally misleading, the one occurrence of Jews/Israelis/Zionists being "evil" suddenly means every conspiracy theory is true.

Which leads to point four.

4) the refusal to acknowledge when they are wrong and the continuation of misinformation.

In the sciences I have seen this particular tactic from the aforementioned fake experts that are also influencers. They'll say something about how you can treat Lyme Disease with hydrogen peroxide IVs (you can't, please don't do this), that you detox your body with a certain diet (also not a thing), that you should alkalinize your body (also bullshit), and many other claims.

Often they will provide some shoddy "study" or purposefully misinterpret something to back their claims. When presented with a breakdown of why their claims are not supported, whether through someone calling out the misinterpretation or that they are using poor evidence, they will continue to keep the claim up on their media and website. There are even some cases where someone might even reach out to them and gently try to let them know that they are in fact wrong about the claims they are making from an earnest place of concern.

Regardless, they will still continue to push the claim they made even in light of the evidence that is contrary to their conclusions. Why? Because they likely believe it to be true and it's actually a conspiracy by "Big Science" to keep it secret and silence them or they need to push it on others that it is true because it directly benefits them monetarily to do so.

Very rarely will you see one of these grifters retract and apologize for a claim. They often have disclaimers on their websites that protect them legally from any "medical advice" they may have given (acknowledging, in some way, that they know what they're doing is a grift)

In regards to the antisemitic conspiracy theorists, whenever one of their claims is debunked (such as the 377k thing I broke down the other day) you will find that they don't retract, correct, and apologize for the misinformation they spread. They keep it on their media and continue to either spread it or passively endorse it by it still being present.

When coupled with the Faking tactic mentioned above this means that a lay person will see the misinformation and believe it because it because it is still present on the Faker's page. This is then coupled with the "as a Jew" pages that also keep that same misinformation up, and so if anyone were to try and cross reference and verify if it were true then would then see a Faker being backed by an "as a Jew" and thus leading to the conclusion that it must be true.

They don't know that both parties are not Jewish and are in fact antisemites pretending to be. If someone were to publicly engage and point out that something is incorrect then they and the rest of the antisemites will join in to dismiss the correction as a piece of propaganda (just like the pseudo-experts get their cohort and audience to dogpile and dismiss actual scientists).

This ensures that the antisemitic conspiracy theories and misinformation spread by these conspiracy theorists has an air of legitimacy.

Because the Fake Experts said so, and if you disagree with them being a Fake then you're part of the conspiracy.

Do you see how this circles back in on itself?

So one thing we need to do is not just call these people antisemites.

We need to point out that they're conspiracy theorists as well.

Because that's what they are.

They're conspiracy theorists.

Just like Moon Landing Hoaxers, anti-vaxxers, COVID deniers, and all the other conspiracy theory believers out there.

And just like other conspiracy theorists, they work backwards from a conclusion and attempt to find evidence to support it. Even if they have to falsify, misinterpret, lie, or purposefully obfuscate.

Now, if you've read this far and you are an audience member of one of these people that this is talking about and your first response is to get defensive and immediately start attacking me then I need you to ask yourself "Why?" Why is pointing out that much of the antisemitism revolves around and behaves like pseudoscience conspiracy theorists so offensive to you?

Is it because you view yourself as a reasonable person who wouldn't get sucked in by conspiracy theories?

That you consider yourself well informed?

Consider for a moment that you're not. Consider that if the points I have described above caused a very real visceral reaction in you that you have fallen for antisemitic conspiracy theories and conspiracy theorists spreading them.

It's okay to have been bamboozled. It can happen to anyone. But the only way forward is to admit and accept that you were, and then leave those spaces and what they represent behind. Go forward with the knowledge that indicates such behavior and try to do some undo the damage it has done and continues to do.

But if you're actually one of the Conspiracy Theorist spreading this stuff that I mentioned above, well...have a good day I guess?

Obviously we went through about 57 stages of horror, anxiety and grief in WBN EP 47, and that ENDING (Aabria my beloved) my godddd, but I wanna take a second to talk about that opening???

There are so many different ways they could have begun that episode, but the creative choice to start with a fucking museum plaque description of the war ship was (chef kiss) genius.

The entire time that peppy propaganda music was playing my heart was sinking. It was like Adventure Is Out There from Pixar's UP or The Future Is Now from Starkid's Starship, but make it terrifying.

What a feat of engineering! (How many people slaved over this?) The countless raw materials, all those precious stones and metals, generously used in its creation! (from all the places the Empire has conquered united and helped bring to the bright future!). Slaps roof, this boy can hold so many guns and soldiers (here, have a tour of every weapon that you will be up against). Marvel at the wonders wizardkind have wrought! (And the unmaking it will bring upon you)

suselle is so awesome because it develops by both girls' own choices (in the normal route obvi) and not any meddling from the player. (the only interference you can cause suselle is stopping it from developing in the weird route)

like ch2 makes this most obvious imo. noelle is the one who chooses to approach at the beginning of the chapter and ask susie to study together. even if you don't talk to noelle about susie at the end of ch1, she still decides to reach out to susie on her own terms the next day!

the big suselle scene of the chapter is the ferris wheel, which we have no control of whatsoever. we are voyeurs at best and that is it. noelle thinks it's a dream, but susie knows it isn't- knows what noelle is saying is real and honest because what would the point of lying even be?

ch4 though... it's so excellent. susie just approaches noelle after the sermon without telling kris her plan!! and noelle *thinks* to ask permission, but decides against it entirely and goes for an opportunity to spend time with susie and kris is also there

minor note: i'm obsessed with susie calling noelle "top shelf" when she's talking to rudy after church. it's such a specific descriptor that tells you about susie's (lack of) self esteem and how she perceives noelle. don't let anyone tell you suselle lacks character depth because they're LYING TO YOU!!!

the basement scene, dess's bedroom scene, and guitar scene are all just so good. dess's bedroom & the guitar scene are so illuminating to me. dess is obviously a sore subject in the holiday home, but relatively new-in-town susie probably doesn't know anything about dess besides that she exists and isn't in hometown right now. for all susie knows, dess is at college with asriel or something. noelle doesn't tell susie that she's intruding on the bedroom and prized possession of a missing teenager. she just... sits with her. and we can't do anything about it! all we can do is make the dess's bedroom scene shorter by getting to the guitar before the dialogue runs out, but then we've gotten the guitar and now noelle is going to suggest (OF HER OWN FREE WILL) that susie try to play it.

she asks susie out to the festival! and susie accepts!

i am just so compelled by the character work present in these scenes. noelle has grown despite believing ch2 to have been a dream, and it shows via her scenes with susie. and it rules
