Okay okay, my ideas:

some elrond raising aragorn headcanons on this fine sunday (now illustrated):

1. Elrond's irl children have a running joke that he loves Aragorn more than the three of them combined but everyone knows it's just a joke and the truth was that he loved all his children equally: but his love for Arwen, Elrohir and Elladan could be split across thousands of years like a slow burning candle. But he would only have Aragorn for a century or two — simply a blink in the eye of time, so his love for him was fiery and blazing — a sandstorm in an hourglass.

2. Toddler Aragorn was 100% spoilt, and it was entirely Elrond's fault. 8. Elrond used to scare Elladan and Elrohir with the idea of Ungoliant when they were younger, but when they tried the scare tactic on toddler Aragorn, he was very excited and wanted to hear more about the enormous spider. So they had to resort to drastic measures and tell him about an even more fearsome creature that ate little boys who didn't go to bed: Arwen Undomiel, the giant werewolf prowling the forests of Lothlorien.

9. Many songs were sung about the final parting of Arwen and Elrond, a tragedy that would last beyond the breaking of the world. Less sung about was a quieter parting, where the Lord of Imladris watched King Elessar walk towards the gates of Minas Tirith for the last time — Elrond's final baby. His very, very last.

Boutta rant abt my blorbo sooo spoiler warning for new Deltarune chaptersss

So.

Berdly.

We got almost NOTHING about him from the new chapters, but I think he deserves to be discussed in light of the new information.

First things first, I don't think enough people talk about the obvious parallels between him and Susie.

Both have spent a lot of time antagonizing Kris, Both sided with the "Villian" in the dark world, and used it to fulfill various fantasies of theirs (susie getting to beat up everyone there, berdly trynna build "smarttopia" or whatever) Both experienced significant character development in the dark world (unfortunately, berdly immediately backtracked as soon as he "woke up") Both cope with feelings of inadequacy by lashing out at others and trying to make themselves seem "bigger" and "cooler" than they actually are (Susie through physical intimidation and Berdly through manipulation and self-aggrandizing behavior) Both have strangely protective tendancies???? Both feel like side characters in their own story. Both are unpopular with peers and authority figures Not to mention, their weapons are EXTREMELY SIMILAR WTF

And also, something I find really interesting,

Neither of them are a part of "the three heroes" of the prophecy.

LONG-ASS PROPHECY INTERPRETATION TANGENT THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH BERDLY:

The part of the prophecy where the three "heroes" are mentioned, when put in order, reads as follows:

"The first hero. The cage, with human soul and parts.

The second hero, the girl with hope crossed on her heart.

The third hero, the prince, alone in deepest dark.

And last ,was the girl. At last, was the girl."

While it may seem that Susie would be the second hero, especially with how she is associated with hope in chapter 4, the image that goes with that line appears to be a girl in robes, holding a sword (possibly the sword made from the thorn ring) implies noelle may have actually been the one intended to be the second hero.

The way the image of the girl holding the sword is also used with "love finds the girl", with some of these images including a small SOUL in the chest of the girl pictured. This correlates to how, in the weird route, we seem to have implanted a piece of our SOUL, and thus our control, into her. As well as the implications of "love" finding her, suggesting that the second hero will have violence thrust upon her, which happens to Noelle in the weird route.

That, plus the fact that Kris wanted to be partnered with noelle in the group project, that Susie only ended up in the dark world by pure coincidence, further suggests that Noelle was the second hero intended by the prophecy.

Also, the image that goes with the "At last was the girl" line, looks exactly like "Rude Buster", one of Susie's attacks, which she uses to defeat the titan along with Gerson at the end of chapter 4.

LONG-ASS PROPHECY INTERPRETATION TANGENT THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH BERDLY IS OVER, NOW I WILL CONTINUE TO TALK ABT THE PROPHECY JUST WITH BERDLY NOW

Now that that's out of the way, I wanna talk about how the prophecy deals with Berdly, which I find FASCINATING.

If you're confused because you don't remember seeing anything at all relating to Berdly in the prophecy in Chapter 4, you're 100% right on the FUCKING MONEY.

He's

NOT

FUCKING

IN THERE

He's never mentioned ONCE, despite the prophecy discussing many characters and events that go beyond the main "three heroes" thing,

whether it's King's defeat, Queen's "chariots", Tenna being sliced up, Lancer saying Toothpaste boy, Asgore in asylum, fuckign JOCKINGTON GROWING A BEARD, the prophecy is littered with references to things that happen all over previous chapters.

But, the thing is, NONE of those things would have been changed if Berdly wasn't in the game.

As far as the prophecy is concerned,

Berdly doesn't exist.

This wouldn't seem too important if it weren't for the fact that he is DIRECTLY INVOLVED in the ONLY game-changing decision SO FAR.

Without him, there is no weird route.

Sure, you can choose to cancel it several times afterward, but the thing is, that's the only time you shift the route of the game. After that, you can only either double down or backtrack, not forge any new paths.

It's strange that someone who functions as the marker between to distinct paths wouldn't be mentioned in the prophecy.

So, here's a little theory of mine:

I think Berdly's the big sleeper character in Deltarune.

Think about it,

out of the main 5, (the lighteners and ralsei,) he's the one we know LEAST about. Sure, they all have mysteries attached to them, but that's part of the reason they're THERE.

Berdly so far has nothing going for him storywise besides him being an annoying fuckwad who gets his shit absolutely wrecked in the weird route.

I genuinely don't believe Toby Fox would make such a unique character who fits the themes of the game perfectly just to eat shit in an alternative route and be forgotten.

I think players are SUPPOSSED to forget him, SUPPOSED to just be like ugh it's that fuckin bird that I hate and move on.

ESPECIALLY since he gets so little screentime in the new chapters, I think Toby is lulling us into a false sense of berdly-less security, letting us think he's served his purpose in the plot.

(and Ik this is probably hard to believe, since if ur reading this ur probably in the corner of the fandom that LOVES berdly, but most Deltarune players do tend to totally dismiss him)

I think Tony Forks is gonna hit us with a berdly-shaped truck in SPECIFICALLY chapter 5, since the weird route only affects ONE THING in the light world outside of Kris and Noelle's sanity.

It's actually fairly possible that Théoden's mother was still alive during the main events of LOTR. She has no year of death given in the appendices (also technically no year of birth, but that can at least be counted from the age difference between her and Thengel), or anywhere else that I would know of. Nor is there any direct reference to her being dead, or text worded in a way that would be impossible if she were still alive during LOTR that I know of. The firmest piece of evidence there is for her being dead is only her absence from the story.

Now, yes, it seems likely to me that Tolkien intended for Morwen of Lossarnach to be dead by the time of LOTR. But Tolkien can roll in his grave all he wants if it's important to him, I am going to discuss the possibility of her being alive nonetheless because I find it interesting.

The appendices mention that Morwen was 17 years younger than Thengel, which would mean she was born in 2922. If my math holds up, that would make her 97 in 3019 when most of the major battles of War of the Ring are fought, if she lives that long. Possibly 96 if she was born late in the year, since those battles happen in spring of that year.

She is Gondorian nobility, mentioned to be descended from the Princes of Dol Amroth, though I do not think the details of her relation to them are specified beyond that. And if we look at the two Gondorian noble families where we have any kind of data for their lifespans, that being the Stewards and the Princes of Dol Amroth - the last four Stewards of Gondor before Denethor each lived 98-100 years. The last four Princes before Imrahil live to be 93, 111, 105, and 114, respectfully, and Imrahil lives to 100 years old. As for the next generation or two after that, Faramir lived to 120 years old. Prince Imrahil's son Elphir was 101 when he died, and his son Alphros was 99. Éomer, grandchild of Morwen Steelsheen, lived to 93 years old, despite his other three grandparents being presumably Rohirrim, whose lifespan (at a quick glance through the list of the Kings of Rohan) usually seems to range between 70 and a few years past 80.

So if Morwen falls roughly into the same range with the Gondorian nobility whose lifespans are known, then, yeah, sure, maybe she's dead by the time the main events of LOTR happen. But it's just as possible that she'd still be alive and even have a couple more years left in her.

And I just find myself fascinated by that possibility.

On one hand, there's the tragedy of her outliving at least two of her children, and at least one of her grandchildren. But on the other hand, when you consider all the women, all the wives and mothers, who fall ill and die, or waste away from grief or the horror and weight of the shadow in the last three or so decades before War of the Ring (Finduilas of Dol Amroth, Théodwyn, Gilraen, though at least Gilraen didn't die as young as the other two; and while her death has nothing to do with grief or influence of the shadow, Elfhild the wife of Théoden dies in childbirth during that timespan), I also see a certain triumph in the idea of Morwen enduring it and living to see a time after Sauron, if only briefly.

But if she is still alive, where is she? I see three possible options. The first is that she is still in Edoras. The second is that she lives somewhere else in Rohan, either in some other house belonging to the royal family, or with one of her unnamed daughters and her family. The third is that at some point after Thengel's death, she returned to Gondor and her family there.

The still in Edoras option seems unlikely from a logical standpoint, since there's no mention of her as there really should have been if she were there. There's something narratively pretty delicious, at least to me, though, in the idea that she might have been there to witness firsthand her son's decline and yet been for whatever reason unable to intervene

Living somewhere in Rohan, probably with another of her children (she had two daughters after Théoden before Théodwyn, and one who's even at oldest still under five years older than Théoden, so any of them could pretty plausibly still be alive), would make some sense, if she had wanted to retire from court life but still remained within relatively easy distance of her children and grandchildren. It would also kind of still allow for her being very aware of what's going on in Meduseld, while offering a more easy excuse for why she's unable to intervene and also not mentioned at any points in the books.

And returning to Gondor at some point after Thengel had died and Théoden had settled into the position of the king and all her children were adults likewise makes sense. She and Thengel lived in Gondor for ten years before moving to Rohan when Thengel inherited the throne, so it seems likely she'd have retained strong ties to her family in Gondor, rather than all those being cut off by her marriage, and considering all we know of Lossarnach, as someone on the SWG discord pointed out when i mentioned these thoughts the other day, Lossarnach seems like a nice enough place to retire to. It would put her pretty solidly away from all the drama going on in Rohan, though, but maybe if you're into fluff, Éowyn and Faramir could make a visit to her in Lossarnach sometime after the war

Anyway. I just wanted to say. Maybe Morwen of Lossarnach isn't dead yet, when LOTR happens. Maybe she gets to see what she probably never thought would happen in her lifetime, or ever at all, Sauron being defeated, Gondor having a king again. She'd have to face horrible loss, yeah. But she'd also see a new sunrise, triumph and joy like no one dared to hope for. So. Maybe. Maybe she's still alive, long enough to see that

General: Dark Cacao Cookie is stern, he's stoic, he's unfettered will and volition in a bitter dough shell. You are someone soft, small, and sweet, something that comes fragile and demure. If you are easy to find and easy to steal, then His Majesty finds you irresistibly in need of his protection… and at least somewhat capable of plugging up the gaps in his heart.

Justification: He views you as weak. Since the weak don’t survive in their own, the strong are obligated to defend them. It’s simple, short, and to-the-point. You might even be missing a limb, or an eye, or your mental health is obviously poor… to Dark Cacao Cookie, caging you is a righteous act.

Method of Control: Physical isolation. Why bother shadowing you from afar or sending his soldiers to tail your market trips when he can give the order to have you dragged to his castle and locked up in his personal quarters? There’s a small corner of the room dedicated to you, with few luxuries or amenities beyond the basics, though a sparse handful of your belongings have been appropriated to help you “settle in”.

If you happen to be a child, your section of his room is a warm, well-padded playcorner filled with blankets, educational books, and the occasional toy- nothing too extravagant, nothing too unsafe. No training swords, though- unless they’re sewn soft with cotton. Expect his loyal soldiers to serve as occasional playmates in his place- he’s not the sort to bother with whimsy or fun.

Self-Image: Dark Cacao Cookie sees himself as your shield and final defense against the bitterness and cruelty lurking beyond his palace wall. He's harsh? It’s because the world is harsher. He thinks he alone can bear the burden of your safety.

Response To Rejection: Stoic nonchalance. He knew you weren’t going to be happy, knew you’d fight back, knew that the angry “I hate you”s and the wailing “I’m scared”s were coming one way or the other.

Punishments: Essentially, the yandere aspect of his personality is the punishment. You grow too kind, crack through his heart, and then he realizes that you are simply unfit to live in a world he perceives as ruthless- and as you spirited away and put on full lockdown.

Goal: The ultimate and total safety of your being, no matter the cost.

Caramel Arrow Cookie:

Quote: "Even if the whole world shuns you, you will not stand alone- not while I draw breath."

General: Caramel Arrow Cookie is an overprotective watcher, an adoring older sibling figure. Where Dark Cacao Cookie splits the difference between his chances of having an older romantic obsession or a younger platonic one, Caramel Arrow Cookie is almost 100% guaranteed to have a platonic underage obsession.

Justification: You’re precious. In a kingdom of frost and blood, you shine with a warmth that she hasn’t known in years. It’s not about commanding or containing- it’s about protection.

Method of Control: Sisterly love. Caramel Arrow Cookie doesn’t have a single “controlling” bone in her body- instead, she’s constantly doting, pressing warm mugs into your hands, ensuring that you eat lots of jellies, tucking you in at night… she loves you into submission.

Self-Image: Same as always- a loyal guardian to her king and all his people- bust, now, especially you. The protector you don’t even know you need. She sees herself as bearing a noble burden—doing what must be done while you stay blissfully untouched.

Response to Rejection: She’s pained, but her loyalty remains unshaken. “If protecting you makes me your enemy, then so be it.” She’ll cry later -in secret, of course- and then redouble her efforts.

Punishments: None. Caramel Arrow Cookie doesn’t see anything as being worth punishing you over in the first place- she only goes after Cookies who are already soft, sweet, and kind! An individual who does things she finds worthy of “punishment” (eg: theft, assault, murder) are not the kind she’d go yandere for. At worst her target gets bratty or fussy, and she can weather a little unpleasantness.

Ultimate Goal: To be accepted as your guardian, then as your caretaker, and, finally, as your family.

Affogato Cookie:

Quote: “Oh, darling… don’t you think we both deserve a little sweetness?”

General: Charming on the surface and deeply venomous underneath, Affogato Cookie is a master manipulator and a constant snake whispering in your ear. He passes himself off as a concerned friend, hoping to squirm into your personal circle, and then move closer inwards and isolate you out of it to leave you with no potential “rescuers”.

Justification: Twofold. First- You’re special. You’re different. You’re above the drudges in Dark Cacao Cookie’s circle, and above the sycophants in Affogato Cookie’s circle. You’re just more fun than anybody else around! Second- he’s very entitled and selfish. This caffeinated Cookie genuinely believes that he deserves you by nature of being a deserving person.

Method of Control: Manipulation and reputation warfare. He wraps his control in “spiritual wisdom”, “philosophical musings”, and “gentle corrections”. (eg: extreme manipulation and gaslighting) If that doesn’t work? He’ll torch your name behind the scenes of the kingdom’s workings and leave you with nowhere to turn.

Self-Image: He hides it soo well to get a good read on his motivations and desires aside from uncontested power, but Affogato Cookie views himself as a deeply deserving individual who is entitled to much in the world… including you.

Response To Rejection: Narcissistic rage masked with pity. If you do anything to push him away, even unintentionally, he'll not only internally fly off the handle, but he’ll go out of his way to spin a lie that circles the whole palace in little more than a day, ripples through the kingdom by the end of the week, and even reaches to the snowy outposts of the Milk Tribe, far outside the protection of the Dark Cacao Kingdom’s bitter walls.

Suddenly, you seem to be very unpopular… with everyone aside from Affogato Cookie, that is.

Punishments: As mentioned above, the ruining of your reputation, but also frequent belittling disguised as “advice”, manipulation disguised as “disappointment”, and isolation disguised as “needing a break from you”. He’s not good for your mental health.

Ultimate Goal: Who knows? You’re part of it, but aside from that? You probably won’t ever figure out what exactly he wants… until he has it.

Crunchy Chip Cookie:

Quote: “If you need anyone, or anything, even a whole pack of wolves- I’ll be there for you! No matter what!”

General: Crunchy Chip Cookie’s gruff loyalty masks a deep emotional attachment, serving as cover for his wants and desires. To the average eye, he’s just a commander looking out for a rookie soldier- and he slowly warms up to you. In the inside? He’s boiling alive with obsessive love.

Justification: You’re part of his “pack,” and in his mind, that’s sacred. You’re not just a “friend”- you’re the embodiment of everything he’s fighting for! Abandoning you or, worse, letting you get hurt? That’s the same as betraying his kingdom- a failure he won't allow.

Method of Control: Physical proximity and constant presence. He’s always “just passing by” or “on a patrol.” The Cream Wolves are never far behind, and they’re all trained to intervene if you’re ever in any perceived “danger”.

Self-Image: A good soldier, the leader of his pack, and the king’s on-call beast-master. Down-to-earth and steadfastly simple, this plain view of himself greatly obscures any attempts to break free of his control- he’s just a normal guy??

Response To Rejection: As implied above, bewilderment. Crunchy Chip Cookie is one of the lowest-key yanderes around, despite his temper and theoretically high position in the Dark Cacao Kingdom- he genuinely views himself as protecting you the same way he protects everyone under his watch. To him, you’re lashing out over literal nothing?? He’s probably going to assume that you’re either addled or sick.

Punishments: Extra training drills, often performed very early in the morning. Then you spend the night doing chores, often involving repetitive and monotonous labor, and constant rounds of the palace… once you crack and fall apart, he carries you to the bunks and tucks you in… in front of your fellow cadets.

Ultimate Goal: Not only to keep you safe, but also to turn you into a respectable and loyal soldier capable of standing on your own two feet… still safely under his command and taking his orders, of course.

Dark Choco Cookie:

Quote: “…are you… still not afraid of me…?”

General: Uniquely for a yandere, Dark Choco Cookie is an individual who must be pursued by his obsession before he can become obsessed. If you were with him in his childhood days, or at least knew him dearly pre-corruption, and then kept up with him? Stayed by his side even after he gouged the strawberry jam out of his father’s dough? After he fell to Dark Enchantress Cookie’s command? After he turned on Pomegranate Cookie? After he fled to the snowy wilderness? If you have cleared all of those jam-stained trials and tribulations, then, as far as Dark Choco Cookie is concerned, you have earned his heart, his blade, and his life.

Justification: You stayed. That is the be all, end all of his justifications. You found it in your heart to love him, in spite of everything. He’s spiraled so far down a dark, bitter path, cut so many ties, hurt so many people… but you still stayed.

Method of Control: Being the strongest blade around- once you’ve hit the “traveling together across the bitter wilds” phase, Dark Choco Cookie has fallen madly in love and no longer cares for survival or sanctity. He will throw caution to the wind and plunge deeply, madly into any fight, praying for his blade to strike true as he leverages it in your name. On account of fights and ambushes being a common scenario, it’s safest to stay close.

Self-Image: A broken, worthless waste of a Cookie, good only to be monster fodder or worse.

Response To Rejection: None. He genuinely just doesn’t react at all. Unlike his father, who expected to be rejected and despised, Dark Choco Cookie just… shuts down until he can mentally block your refusal pit.

Punishments: Physical harm and mutilation. To himself, that is. Once Dark Choco Cookie falls madly in love with you, the idea of harming becomes outright blasphemous. If you do something he considers awful enough to warrant a punishment, he’ll simply hurt himself instead. After all, surely you would be doing better as person if your “guardian” was less of a monster… and the less of him there is, the less do you his presence can overwhelm.

Ultimate Goal: To return home with you, hand in unlovable hand, and regain some measure of grace in the eyes of his people.

(And perhaps, come to face with a father forgiving enough to officiate a wedding…)

They weren't tears of joy or sadness, but tears that cursed his fate.

He knew the identity he had usurped was that of a teacher, and therefore he knew he would have students, young people from all over Twisted Wonderland, very proud of their magic.

But that wasn't the problem.

To be honest, he hoped he wouldn't have so many students; it would make his job easier and help him avoid being discovered, since teaching first- and second-year students was one thing, but teaching third-year students was something else entirely.

Teaching third-year students wouldn't be a problem if he didn't have the real heavyweights in his class.

Yuu felt like crying when he saw their last names on the list for the first time.

"I worked for some families at least once or three times."

Yuu never used his real name, much less revealed his true face; with each job, a new identity, a new face. He had been very careful in that regard.

Until the train accident.

Now, even though he had another identity, what everyone at that school saw was his true face.

"Sometimes you're not careful enough."

He could only sigh in resignation. Because of that "incident"

in Vil's case, he isn't worried, as he hasn't interacted with anyone in his family.

"Messing with celebrities is very troublesome."

But on the other hand, the Shroud and Kingscholar families were once major contractors.

As for the draconian, he has never worked for them, as it is well known that the dark fairies hate humans because of that war.

His problem wasn't Malleus's family, but the fairies themselves.

A fairy's lifespan is relatively long; if fairies didn't hate humans, they'd be in trouble, since, in their short lives, crossing paths with one could be a big problem.

"Since he can recognize me."

Even if he used a different name, a different face, each person's magical power is distinct, unique. Not all fairies have the affinity to recognize who has magic and who doesn't.

Yuu has never been in contact with the Draconia family or any fairies, so he shouldn't have any problems.

Yuu noticed Lilia's smile, though it was an ambiguous one.

— I recommend you stop doing that, Vanrouge.

Yuu was in the cafeteria, eating with the other teachers at the tables outside.

Second son of the King of the Sunset Savannah, a prince in short. His older brother is the current king of his lands because their father is very ill.

"I did a job for his father a while back."

— Don't be mad, Professor Yuu. — he said Trein. — It'll just make your blood sugar go up."

— Ha, isn't it just you, Professor Trein? — Crewell asked sarcastically.

— What did Professor Crewell say?"

— There they go again. — Professor Vargas said with a sigh. — Anyway, Professor Yuu, you should know that Kingscholar is famous for skipping class."

— He's repeating a year. — Sam added. — From what my friends from beyond the grave know, he seems very disinterested in graduating; in class, he's always looking for a place to sleep.

—Really?

—Kingscholar is considered the best in the Ancient Magic class. — Crewle said. — He's smart, a born leader, he admits, though he's lazy. He wastes talent; Ancient Magic isn't something anyone can pass with 100 perfect points."

"Oh, they stopped fighting."

— And why is he repeating a year?

— We don't know.

Yuu could only sigh and continue eating.

— By the way. — Sam said. — How are some of the imps doing? I heard there have been several accidents.

— Many are in the infirmary. — Trein said, petting his cat. — Some had to share a bed because space is running out.

—The Magic shift tournament is coming up, and the students are getting careless. — Vargas said angrily.

Now that Yuu thinks about it, Nightcrow Academy has been losing to the Royal Sword Academy for 99 years.

"Wow, how humiliating!"

Yuu thought as he walked through the hallways.

He was on the third floor, ready for his next third-year class, when in the distance he saw two familiar students.

"Rosehearts and Clover?"

The leader and vice-leader of Heartslabyul.

— I'll be a little late, go practice for the Magic shift Tournament.

— Understood.

— Then I'll leave it to you.

Everything seemed peaceful, until suddenly Riddle…stumbled.

— Riddle!

"!!!!"

Due to their proximity, Clover covered Rosehearts with her body. And they both tumbled down the stairs.

Trey felt a stabbing pain in his ankle, but what he was most concerned about was keeping Riddle from hurting himself.

He closed his eyes and hugged Riddle tightly, waiting for his head to hit the ground… A blow that never came.

— Clover!

Like Riddle, he was floating; he was inches above the ground, and at the top of the stairs was his teacher.

Yuu Cherish

Pointing his staff at them, he could see the glow of his magic emanate and surround them.

Damn, I didn't react in time!

Yuu managed to avoid falling, but he was distracted, not by a fly or anything like that.

It was because in the distance, he spotted another group, a group he hadn't seen until Riddle and Trey fell forward.

They were students easy to recognize by their beastmen features.

That wouldn't seem suspicious at first glance; there could be groups of students anywhere on campus.

However, what was suspicious was the moment they saw him. It was a quick glance, but he managed to see those students smiling at Rosehearts' fall, strangely calm. But upon noticing his presence A TEACHER their expressions quickly changed to surprise, and they all ran away.

He wanted to stop them, but he knew Trey would soon hit his head on the floor, so he did what he had to do as a teacher: protect his student.

He ran with Trey in his arms toward the infirmary, followed by Rosehearts.

— How embarrassing. — Clover said, blushing slightly as her teacher carried her like a princess.

— This isn't the time to think about that, Trey! — Riddle scolded.

As he entered the infirmary, Yuu recalled the teachers' conversation that afternoon.

"How are some of the imps? I heard there have been several accidents."

"Many are in the infirmary. Some had to share a bed because space is scarce." Several students, from all dorms, were in different beds, all due to numerous "accidents."

— That's enough.

Sorry for the delay, but let's just say that creating good chapters takes time. I just couldn't find the inspiration. BUT HERE WE ARE!!

I also want to develop the students' relationships with their teacher. I want it to be something natural, so I'll see how I do it, because love isn't one of my strong points.

Possibly in the following chapters we'll see their OTHER IDENTITIES.

Last, but most certainly not least, we have the Red King Mr. RenDiggityDog himself. I knew the instant I saw the reference for this pose that it would be what I use for Ren - the model had the perfect amount of charisma and attitude, and I think it fits him just perfectly. And before anyone asks, no, I didn't draw the pattern on his shirt by hand! I pulled it, and most of the repeating patterns for this whole series, directly from the item or brand site I was working with, to save time and my wrist (and my sanity).

All 18 of the official pieces have been posted, almost exactly a year after I first saw a red shirt in the window display of an Armani store and started to compile a list of designers and brands on my phone notes app. The pieces are laid out here before you on my socials. A print copy of the zine sits on my bedroom shelf.

I really, truly could not have imagined the amount of love and support this community has poured out for these pieces. I am being 100% honest when I say I thought I'd be posting these into the void. Every single effusive tag, ever positive comment, and every single like means so much to me, from the bottom of my heart, especially for a project that was as passion driven as this one was for me.

This is the first time I can say that I've truly finished a long term project of mine, despite having ups and downs and stops and starts in between, and it feels surreal to be stepping away and calling it complete. But I also know that the community loved it just as much as I did, and it's made me even more passionate about wanting to make and do more moving ahead both for the MCYT and Life Series fandoms and far beyond, into my own original stories and crafts.

summary: in the wake of all the rats abandoning ship, you ask Aemond to leave King's Landing with you as well. [sort of in the vein of my tv show series?? mostly because I want to keep it seperate from the rest of my HOTD stuff that is more book related. part -X XX XXX]

“Let’s leave this place.”

Aemond looked up at you from his table. Maps and plans littering the surface. There were not enough hours in the day to make headway on a plan to attack or thwart Rhaenyra, so they had moved into your bedroom. “We will leave for Harrenhall in a few days’ time.” He told you. “We will be off soon enough.”

“No, I mean leave this place.” You told him. “Leave Westeros.”

Your husband looked shocked at your suggestion. Understandably. “You would have me leave Westeros. Leave my birthright.”

“It is not yours Aemond.” It was a bitter truth, but a truth none the less, and you were the only one that could tell him that without threat of death.

None of this was supposed to be theirs. Aegon nor Aemond. Deep down they all knew that. Knew that Viserys had not wavered in his final moments on who his favorite child was. Who his first and only was. Alicent could have given the former king 100 sons, and it would not have made up for the one he lost with his first wife. “Rhaenyra now has 7 dragons to our 1 with her dragon mongrels taking flight. Besides which her armies.”

“I have Vhagar!” Aemond shouted in anger. Rising to his feet. “The oldest, strongest, largest dragon in all Seven Kingdoms.”

“And a pack of wild dogs can take down a lion if their numbers are great. I am not trying to upset you Aemond, I’m simply following the maths.”

The prince took a deep breath though his nose and turned from you. Annoyed that you were right, but clearly didn’t want to admit it. “You want me to abandon the city, ney? Run away and hide like the rest of those cowards!”

Aegon had left the city, for his own protection. To where, you could not be sure. That may have been by design as many whispered about how Aemond would kill him in his bed if given the chance. You knew he wouldn’t do that; if for nothing else than the simple fact that it would be dishonorable to murder a cripple in their bed unarmed. His mother had been missing for days at a time now. Uninterested in the war efforts since her dismissal from the council. Such was her right, but the fact that she wouldn’t look you in the eye these days did not grant you comfort on what the former Queen was thinking. The rest seemed to slip out under the cover of darkness. Less and less people seemed to be in the castle. The rats saw that the ship was sinking and were abandoning it quickly.

“I don’t want you to ‘run away’ Aemond. I want you to live.”

Aemond huffed and turned from you again. “Better to die in battle then wither in obscurity.”

“And if you die, and Rhaenyra takes the city, what of me then? Die an honorable suicide like the Queens of old? Be a political prisoner here until the Queen forces me to marry one of her bastard heirs as a good will gesture?”

That got Aemond’s attention. The idea that you could die not nearly as infuriating as the thought that one of Rhaenyra’s “strong boys”, or even her Targaryen brood, would touch you. “That would never happen.”

“You’re right. It wouldn’t. Rhaenyra would have to kill me. If not for the simple fact that I would not bend the knee, but also for the fact that I am a charge to her claim.”

Your hand came to rest at your stomach. Still the same, but not for long. Aemond’s eye followed your hand, and his expression turned to shock before you raised his face to look at you with your other hand. “There are more world out there, my love. Across the Narrow Sea. Beyond. We could take Vhagar and make a new kingdom like your ancestors. We don’t have to stay here and fight over this one. We could have so much more.”

Aemond’s gaze dropped from your hold, but he took your hand at his cheek and held it. “You would have me abandon my family? Turn my back on them?”

“Have they not turned their back on you?” They blamed Aemond for everything. As if he put Aegon up on that stage and gave him a crown. You weren’t naïve enough to think your husband was blameless in his actions during this war, but they were looking for a scapegoat at this point and Aemond was the convenient target. “We are each other’s family now. We are all that matters.”

“Daeron….”

“He can come with us.” You felt maddened to the point of tears. You were fond of Daeron, the few times you had met. A sweet boy who was free of this place. Though you would honestly say anything to Aemond at this point to get him to come. “Helaena too, if you wish. We will fly to some far away place like Aegon and his sisters. Just please….please…let us leave this place.”

Aemond seemed to think about it for a long moment, before he gave you his answer and that was the end of it.

In the morning, Vhagar took flight over the city. Whether she went to Harrenhall with her rider or parts unknown, no one could know then. What was sure, as the histories tell us, was that it would be the last time the great dragon, her rider, or his wife ever came back to the city.
