she’s eating her waffles at the TWO WHALES ,  head down ,  hoping no one talks to her .   she’s a regular here ,  knows joyce even ,  but has been ghosting ever since the video ;  some of the kids went here too ,  including NATHAN ,  and she’s been mortified to come and see the disappointment in the eyes of the kind older woman .   today she decided to be brave ,  come in ,  and so far so good .   just eat ,  and then make your exit .

the actress’ eyes glint with amusement under the setting sun, her stomach aching after laughing at a particularly nefarious joke made by the girl sitting next to her. rays of gentle tangerine light danced upon their chosen refuge; the junkyard. chloe’s hand was upon her own && their legs dangled off the wreckage of a car. the normalcy, the day - to - day suburban life… it’s one which she’s yearned to leave far behind for so long. and with mark jefferson, it seems like that dream wasn’t so far away after all. but when azure hues meets her own, she cannot help but wish to be greedy && have both. 

on the surface, she looks serene; she knows that she seems at peace in chloe’s presence- and she usually is. but in truth, she was torn between two possibilities, both roads leading to destinations far greater that what she can imagine.  how could she choose?? how could anyone choose how they live out their lives?? the abandoned surroundings mocks her. this haven away from her reality has been shattered, smoke && mirrors parting like water as the weight of her future forced itself into her teenage delirium to become acknowledged once more. “ what are you thinking?? ” the question broke past her reverie, bringing her back to the present.

shaking her head gently, she twists her body sideways to face the punk, the delinquent, the girl who’s nature is revealed to rachel whenever she smiles. the girl who’s heart is far stronger than her own. the girl who she could spend the rest of her life with, parents be damned. rachel sat there && smiled to herself. that’s that, then. funny how life’s toughest choice so far was turned into a piece of cake in the muted glow of the sky && in the company of one special lady.

        “ oh, NOTHING, just how DAMN lucky I am to know        such an AMAZING girl like you. HONESTLY, I must've        been some sort of SAINT in my past life. ”

rachel raises a hand and gently cups chloe’s face && brushes away a few strands of blue hair. she leaned in then, gently pressing her lips against the others’ under the warm glow of dusk. she sighed softly, lips opening as chloe’s own mouth opens when rachel places her unoccupied arm around her waist. when they do part for air, rachel leaves soft, open - mouth kisses along chloe’s jaw && neck.

        “ there, your daily dose of AFFECTION. but if you ever        want more, I’m happy to PROVIDE. ”

she giggled as the other rolls her eyes. hopping off the roof of the car, she stretches lazily and sighs. ( almost reminiscent of a cat ) 

        “ let’s call it a day, shall we?? while you don’t have        HOMEWORK to worry about, I still do. and        assessments. all that fun stuff you must REALLY miss        about school. I’ll see you around, price. ”

     “Last time I called a bluff, I got punched in the fucking face. By you, no less.” With a frown, Nathan rubs his cheek, feeling phantom pain from the encounter. Granted, they were both hammered, and he called her out- saying she’d be too afraid of a lawsuit if she hit him.

“You’re lucky I didn’t sue your punk ass for everything you Prices have.”

     Typical. Chloe would end up falling asleep on her. She always did. Letting out a     light sigh, Max rose to her feet, fighting to keep her own eyes own as she     reached over for the blankets. Draping them over Chloe’s sleeping form, Max     gently tucked her in and leaned down to press a soft kiss to the mop of blue     hair atop of her head.     “ Sweet dreams, ” she whispered as she pulled back and rounded their make-     shift bed, plopping down next to her best friend and passing out almost     immediately after her head hit her pillow.          // @bluenctte

a single eyebrow was raised in query at the sudden statement from her counterpart.        “ the ONLY thing to fear is FEAR itself. ”it wasn’t often that something makes rachel pause and consider before she speaks. if anyone else had said this, she would simply rattle off some generic reply. but that simply didn’t feel right to do so when it comes to chloe. so she cleared her throat and gave a small smile.        “ kidding. loneliness, rumors, danger; all that I can DEAL with. but my greatest fear is        to BURN OUT like so many other child prodigies before me. what if I’m at the PRIME        of my life right now?? having so much to live for is EXHILARATING, and yet the cost        of all that isn’t something which I’m PARTICULARLY comfortable with. ”the blonde worries her lower lip, the only sign of insecurity she ever really shows. will this affect chloe’s perception of rachel?? she sure as hell hopes not. it seems like chloe fears nothing to the casual observer, but it’s overwhelmingly obvious once you know her well enough. rachel herself of course has her own suspicions, but letting the brunette girl open up by herself is something she should let happen gradually instead of forcing it. but since she had asked first…        “ I don’t suppose YOU’RE in a mood to share?? ”
