we as fans need to put more actual incest into batcest.

most of the time when i read fics with batcest ships it's "they've never regarded each other as brothers anyway" or "their relationship irrevocably changed while they were away from each other and now they don't see each other as father and son" or "they were never adopted in this au" or "the incestuous nature of their relationship will never be mentioned by anyone or explored in any meaningful way".

where are the fics where the characters see themselves as both brothers/parent and child and lovers at the same time? where one of them had a crush on the other and it never went away even though their relationship transformed into a more brotherly one? where there're complicated family dynamics intertwined with romantic/sexual relationships? where there's slow burn and denial of feelings because of social norms? where there's guilt, anger, horror and other emotions the character experiences when they realize they have very inappropriate feelings for someone?

give me scenarios where siblings have to go undercover as a couple. where they have to share a very small bed and huddle naked for warmth. where they're overcome with an instinctual urge to mate with each other in omegaverse world. where the universe decided they're romantic soulmates despite being perceived by society as father and son. where they find themselves in a fuck or die situation with each other.

i just think it'd make the relationships much more interesting and complex.

there was a small part of bruce that felt relief when jason died. he took all of bruce's shameful thoughts with him to the grave—the lingering touches, the silent moments when bruce caught himself watching too closely, feeling something he shouldn't. the fire in jason's eyes, the anger, his defiance, and bruce's inability to control him stirred something forbidden in him. and he hated himself for it. he would lie awake late at night thinking about it. obsessing over it. his guilt and shame clung to him like a second skin. but now, with jason gone, there was no temptation, and bruce felt lighter. for a while. because some things never stay buried.

first, it's on bruce when jason is still underage. he's so ashamed, because the man adopted him and gave him a better life, but despite that he still jerks himself off thinking about batman fucking him in his robin costume.

second, it's on dick when he finally meets the first robin. he tries to hide it as much as possible, though he's sure dick notices. jason's feelings are a twist of jealousy, anger, hero worship, and longing and he's sure he's not as good at concealing them as he'd like to believe.

third, it’s on talia while she is supporting him and sponsoring his training trip around the world. she is beautiful, elegant, clever, and lethal. she’s also bruce’s ex and much older and experienced than him. it always makes him a little shy in her presence.

fourth, it's on tim after he comes back to life and holds a knife to tim's throat and then beats him up. even while he's angry, he still thinks his successor is hot and it'd be so easy to press him against the wall and do whatever he wants. (he doesn't do it of course, those are just his fantasies.)

fifth, it’s on steph when he eventually gets to know her. he realizes they have much in common and genuinely enjoys spending time with her. one time during their occasional team-up he has a wild urge to kiss her while they’re still high on adrenaline and covered in blood and grime from their fight. it’d be less nerve-racking if he didn’t know steph is already taken.
