Would you ship Asami with Bumi ii?

Would you ship Iroh with Bumi ii? (assuming you don't hc Bumi as Iroh's dad)

Hmm. I generally don't ship members of my OTP with anyone else. I'm a committed multishipper but it's a bit hard for me to break them up. Still, happy to consider the ask!

On the first I'm gonna say no. I'm not against anyone who does, and I'm not one to turn my nose up at age gap ships, but 18 and 60 doesn't do it for me, personally. I do love them as friends though, especially as Asami gets older. I think she's one of the few people who wouldn't get tired of Bumi's tall tales.

On the second, I would also say no if it weren't for @ragdollrory who wrote some of the most unbelievably beautiful Bumiroh fics. I love them a whole lot and when they write it, I believe it. It's also a bit easier because Iroh doesn't have a canon age, so if you're someone who thinks of him as only 20 years younger than Bumi instead of 40 it's not that much.

bumizumi, bumiroh and ty lee/teo for the ship ask?

Bumizumi — it’s probably my least favorite Bumi II ship, but I think it’s mostly because I’m not super invested in Izumi’s character (unless I’m thinking about Izumi as a Zutara child but that’s a whole other conversation. But it’s still a neat ship with interesting potential.

Bumiroh — I love Bumi, and I love Iroh, so I do love them together. I’m really fond of their friendship, but a relationship would be great. I can just imagine Iroh trying to put up with erratic Bumi, and Bumi trying to get Iroh to chill out.

Ok I can’t say I’ve ever thought about Ty Lee/Teo (TyTeo, TeoLee?) but I actually kind of like that? I think those two would have a lot of fun together and it would be really sweet. And I’m sure @authorjoydragon would also like this ship.

OH, I am SO going to GUSH. Where do I even begin...

In my humble opinion of practically being one of the first one (if not the first) on the boat, these two are just perfect for each other.

Bumi is the wind to Iroh's fire, keeping it alive, making it burn brighter, and honestly, getting him riled up. Both in the good sense, and sometimes just getting on his nerves.

Iroh on the other hand, secures Bumi. He doesn't tie him down, but grounds him some. He offers unconditional love and a safe port to come home each time, even if that port is another ship in a different part of the world.

I feel they work because they both have the need to go out, explore, do stuff, learn, never stay still, and they encourage the other to do so as well.

They're a lovely mess to watch, so stupudly in love, pining for years, both thinking they're not good enough for the other. And when they come together they just fit. They've been friends for years now, the dynamic is perfectly polished by then.

Bumi will keep them well fed (Iroh can't cook more than like, fish), Iroh will make sure nothing's on fire.

Iroh will get them nice places to stay, Bumi will always make it seem lived-in not two minutes since they arrived.

Bumi will get them into trouble, Iroh will do so too. 😄

They get married on the beach, with just their sisters, and they live in a sailboat, exploring the world. What's not to like??

They were needling him for details, so Iroh eventually sighed and said, "He's tall and charming—" and when he realized how lovestruck he sounded, how schoolboyish, he added, "and he's a bit of a wild man."

Korra waggled her eyebrows at that: "Wild in what way?" she drawled, and Mako elbowed her hard in the ribs.

Iroh laughed a little: "Several ways, most of which I'll keep to myself."

"Well, look here at this gossip circle!" crowed a voice from behind them.

Iroh turned in time for Bumi to gather him in his arms and kiss him enthusiastically, and when they broke apart, everyone was staring in undisguised shock—"It's... Bumi?" said Korra, and Mako didn't elbow her this time.

You mentioned Lin/Iroh with either Bumi or Mako and I was wondering if you're still doing it if you could answer #1 of the headcanon thing for each trio? Interested to see how you might get the triads together.

You know what? I have actually been giving this OT3 a lot more thought than I am willing to admit.

To answer your question though:

1. Who makes the first move and how? For Lin/Iroh/Mako, I wanna say Iroh would be the first to initiate it. With Lin being a little reserved and Mako being outright too shy, Iroh would feel the need to take charge of the evolving chemistry between the three of them. He'd start off by seducing Mako (excuse my horni) and then maybe sweet-talking Lin until she gives in and kisses him. And well, Lin and Mako already have a working relationship, so just getting them together in the same room should unravel all these hidden feelings. For Lin/Iroh/Bumi though, although similar to the above, Bumi would be the one to make the first move. I'd like to think that he already had some sort of friends-with-benefits deal with Lin from when he's in RC and it starts off the same way once Iroh gets promoted to General while at sea. So once Bumi learns of Iroh's attraction for Lin, he's kinda like 'hmm, this could be quite fruitful' and kickstarts it by inviting himself and Iroh to Lin's place in RC.

I must say though, to whoever this Anon was that put this in my head, you've surely fractured my brain and I can't thank you enough for it.
