This is a spam blog.

Everyone, please do not fall for this person who is using the Palestinians' very real plight to try and scam people out of their money.

Research was done on this by tumblr blog nonaferatu (credit where it's due). @mosabsdr, @abedmajeed and @nasergz are all blogs made by one person (or multiple people) with the intent of scamming people out of $90k.

All amounts are the same, and all the messages received in people's ask boxes are identical. The original Palestinians used gofundme accounts, but strangely enough all of these requests route you to chuffed instead as of January 2025.

Icing on the cake: all their replies are locked down, so there's no way to ask them to stop spamming and circumventing blocks.

EDITED TO ADD: I have already reached out to gazavetters about these blogs, privately on 4 April and on their pinned post today. Their rule 2 actively discourages the kind of spamming which is being done.

If you want to help: Please donate to the UN World Food Program (also linked, with credit to nonaferatu) or find other legitimate ways to support Palestinians.

Do not donate to any of these blogs, and do not share their messages.

My ask box will be turned off for 10 days if I get any more messages from them. I'll still answer other asks more or less in the order they were received in the meantime.

Some tips on how to spot scammers‼️

These scams can be under the pretext for *getting medication*/*getting a group of people to a safer location* or whatever new variations that may pop up in the future!

Not all of these are telltale signs that the person is a scammer but just some things I have seen in common. Make sure to always do your own research first before reporting/reblogging!

1a. Their accounts are barely a week old and has liked nothing much but posts of people answering positively to their scams sent to your inbox

1b. Only liking/reblogging posts related to the scam they're trying to sell

2. Linking a *go fund me* but it actually leads you to their paypal account under a different name

3. Lack of precise information/vagueness. Their last few lines are always along the lines of; please donate/help where possible because all they care about is money!

4. You've interacted; reblogged/liked/commented with whatever content recently so they send you their stolen paragraph from an actual person who's in need of help. eg. Charity, free Gaza

5a. Inconsistent pronouns being used eg. Sometimes using 'i' and then switching to "them" or "they"

5b. In addition to inconsistent pronouns, there could also be randomly placed quotation or exclamation marks - meaning they copied it from someone

6. You could also try reverse google searching the images/paragraph they use by simply putting quotation mark followed by the paragraph eg. "paragraph"

7. Copying the paragraph and pasting it on Tumblr search. You'll instantly find proof by looking at others posts

8. Always check against a vetted source to know if their account is reliable

Always report scammers posts and accounts too!

As always, don't be so trusting/gullible of everything you see online! Always check its legitimacy before liking/reblogging or asking others to help them out!

Not everyone is a scammer, but it's important donations go to people who actually need it!!

SCAMMER ALERT

Hello everyone,

I am writing to address an issue that both I and another reader, @bitchy-craft , are currently facing.

Over the past few months, @ recoveringinternetaddict purchased a substantial amount of readings from me, and I initially believed she was a genuine customer. However, yesterday morning, I discovered that she had initiated chargebacks on PayPal totaling approximately $190.

She contacted me, claiming that the chargebacks were a mistake and assured me that she would resolve the matter within a few hours. Trusting her, I remained patient. Despite this, she has not taken any action to resolve the issue. Instead, she has continued to initiate additional chargebacks.

This situation has been extremely stressful for both @bitchy-craft and myself, particularly as she has stopped responding to our messages. Her statements have been inconsistent, as she repeatedly asks for our trust while continuing to initiate more chargebacks.

This is a significant amount of money, and I am currently facing financial difficulties. I urge everyone to be cautious and would greatly appreciate any help or advice you can offer. Your support would mean a lot to us.

I am hoping for the best while preparing for the worst. Although I want to believe her, this situation has occurred once before, which makes me uncertain. I hope she is being truthful, and if it turns out that she is, I will formally apologize to her.

literally what is the good in reporting "scammers". if it actually was a scammer great job they'll make another account and go on with their day. some probably wont notice if they're running multiple scams but if you managed to get an actual persons account deleted they have to make a new account prove that they're in an active war site go through the vetting process write a new fucking paragraph about their trauma (if they don't have it on hand already with how many accounts are scamjacketed and deactivated constantly) and regain their meager ass place in the algorithm. for daring to mildly inconvenience a tumblr user. i'm going insane

is it weird that what makes me the most certain that they’re actually scam bots the fact that they would choose tumblr in the first place. like let me go to emo faggot land, a site that is believed to be dead by most people and is lowkey infamous for its bot problem, to get help. it makes more sense to post something like that on tiktok, instagram, xiaohongshu, etc. or at least imo.

in the event that families are actually flocking here in an attempt to receive help, someone should tell them that they’re likely to be ignored and assumed to be a bot. if you’re gonna support a scam, tell these accounts to catfish people on sugar daddy apps to get donations. there are lonely rich dudes willing to pay to just talk to people. or shit, asking a findom to get their subs to donate could work too.

but on a more serious note, it’s generally safer, and better for everyone involved, to help people through legit organizations (like pcrf, map, unicef, unwra, wfp, wck, rescue, etc.) anyways, as these are actual nonprofits and welfare programs and they have potential to reach more than just one family at a time, which is ultimately more effective and efficient when it comes to saving palestine as a whole. it’s secure and safer to trust.

not all people are moral, a lot of humans use whatever they can to their advantage. if someone wants money, even if they don’t remotely need it, they will find a way to get it.

the internet has been littered with scams since its conception.

I don't like the way you guys talk about Palestinians asking for donations. I don't like it.

I had to see someone make MULTIPLE posts bitching and moaning about how people need to stop sending them asks asking for them to reblog their donation posts, that they'd just be blocking them from now on, and that they didn't care if they were vetted because they still found the act of sending asks to get reblogs on their donation links suspicious, even if they were in a dire situation. They even went as far as to say that they got an ask, deleted it, and then they got another ask from the same person, and accused the person of sending another ask to purposefully "get under their skin"

I don't know man, have you considered that being a victim of ongoing genocide will make you ask for help in whatever way you can? And sometimes that involves sending random blogs asks to see if they can donate or at the very least share your donation links? A Palestinian reaches out to you multiple times because they need help and your response is to whine about getting donation links in your inbox? I wish I had your problems

Also the thing about "getting the exact same ask from the exact same blog multiple times"... uh, duh? First of all, they're probably reaching out to dozens of blogs daily, do you think they're gonna type up a new paragraph for each blog they reach out to? Second of all, maybe they reached out to you multiple times because a. They really really really need the help and b. What, do you think they're gonna see your URL/blog and be like "oh! I already reached out to this blog, I'm not gonna send them another ask"? Or do you think they'll be like "this person has been reblogging other people's donation posts, maybe they'll reblog mine too"?

Like I understand being suspicious about getting sent donation links to your inbox, but literally all you have to do is check if the blog's been vetted by other bloggers? It's as easy as searching for their URL on tumblr sometimes, it literally takes less than a minute or two. And that's what bothers you? That's what you're complaining about? Find a real problem!!!

since i posted the fundraiser for a family in gaza, i have had a few more requests in my inbox to repost other's fundraisers. i've seen a few posts warning that a lot of these are scams, and i don't want to advertise any scams and am not sure how to reliably sort through them.

however, i have done some research into other charities and organizations that are helping in gaza and have listed them below. i am not any expert on this conflict, and this is just based on amateur research, but i hope this helps anyone who is looking for a way to help!

I’m really thinking about not reblogging Palestine support post if I don’t know if they’re genuine or not because I suspect I’ve been reblogging a lot of scam accounts.

Firstly, I would like to apologize for reblogging the few scam accounts in the past and lost track of it because i kept reblogging and answering questions from Palestinians. My ask box was filled to the brim with personal begging for cash and I assumed everyone was a genuine person who needed the money. But these past few years I’m starting to suspect several of these accounts are scammers who prey on people’s empathy.

I think some of them were people who really needed the cash and the money, but there’s so many of accounts who dm me, beg for money and guilt trip me for not responding or sending money. And it’s getting to a point to where I’m suspecting several of these accounts are indeed scammers.

I’ll try to reblog post from people I know are struggling but please stop messaging me directly, I get red flags from that and the guilt tripping really makes me raise an eyebrow.

I really hope I don’t get chased off tumblr because of this post.
