The world building is wonderful, the writing is amazing, and I am SO INVESTED in this story! The tone does bounce around - it gets really dark at some points in ways that the first chapters do not prepare you for. Also, the gen parts get more attention than the shippy ones - Tim gets strong relationships with a LOT of other characters and I love them all! The series is LONG, but each part gets a very satisfying conclusion. (Finally: designated villains, which includes a number of heroes, undergo some character bashing in future parts. If you have a fave you couldn't handle seeing interpreted in that way, you can ask for more info.)

Наступні три дні були найдивнішими в житті Тіма. Джей і Деміан вели якусь війну, в якій Тім опинився посередині, але мета, здавалося, полягала в тому, щоб його пестити? Деміан приносив суп і плюшеві подушки, а Джей тримав ноутбук Тіма повністю зарядженим і, коли гаджет вже не міг утримувати увагу Тіма, чесно кажу, він читав йому вголос. Дік усміхався й сміявся 3 розгубленості Тіма, але не намагався врятувати його від такої уваги.

Інший Брюс був марний і почав робити фотографії на свій телефон. Тіму постійно доводилося нагадувати собі, що ніхто не був під наркотиками й що він не в епізоді буквальної сутінкової зони. Зазвичай це допомагало, поки Деміан не робив щось на кшталт знаходження нового компакт-диска тієї групи, яка подобалася Тіму.

Повернення на гору, де всі його ненавиділи, було більш звичною територією, і Тім був дуже задоволений, коли йому дозволили піти. Джей, коли не пестив Тіма, ходив за Брюсом по печері. Він не наполягав на спарингу, що було добре, оскільки це показувало, що Джей не відчував особливої агресії. Ліга вбивць трохи погралася з ним, перш ніж скинути його в Яму. My thoughts: Honestly a really good reincarnation fic IMO. The sequel is dead, but this fic works well enough as a standalone.

I love this feature

I wanted to utilize a characterization of a character who was transported into the universe I'm writing from another one and use his character as a reference for how he would be accepted into the family there. I just found the author on FFnet and PM'd them and asked permission. They said it was okay as long as I use this feature.

Or, Tim pretends to be Conner's boyfriend, just to help him avoid unwanted attention. Because that's what friends do. Pretend to be romantically involved even though they are definitely not interested in each other in that way and it would totally never happen. Definitely.

Обід із Деміеном був очікував атаки або, незвичайним. принаймні, Тім творчої погрози. Щось про важливість самого Деміена і про те, що Тім лише незваний гість.

Натомість вони сиділи в кімнаті з каміном, який Деміен назвав затишним, але придатним для їхньої мети. У каміні була свіжа деревина, готова до розпалювання, а блідий кам'яний димар зникав у стелі.

Вони пересунули меблі ближче до кавового столика, щоб поставити їжу, замість того, щоб балансувати її на колінах, як варвари. Слова Деміена, не Тіма.

Вони майже мовчки підбиралися до своїх запіканок. Кожен раз Деміен витягував шию, щоб подивитися на тарілку Тіма, після чого його обличчя морщилося в хмурому виразі. Кіл��ка разів він відкривав рота, мабуть, щоб висловити якусь критику щодо того, як Тім тримає вилку, але кожен раз він проковтав її, перш ніж вона вирвалася з його рота.
