Regulus was under the impression he had repaired his time turner with enough fiddling and charms because by the looks of the placement of the setting sun and pale moon and the misting rain, it seemed the same time as when he had departed his normal timeline.

Sirius didn't have the luxury of fainting. Someone who looked like his brother and was powerful enough to get past the hateful house's defenses had just infiltrated the headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix. His mind was racing not so much with how they could have done it, but who could have. His best guess was that they'd been betrayed, though whether it was intentional or not, he couldn't have said.

When Sirius walked in the bar he predicted the loud music, the live band, and the crowd of people. However he did not expect to see his little brother on stage with a guitar.

Even with Regulus’ new tattoos and array of piercings Sirius noticed him right away. He took the time to just stand there admiring what had changed about his brother he’s been estranged from for 10 years.

And then he saw it. A shiny ring similar to the one on Sirius’s own left hand. His Reggie had gotten married. Sure regulus wore rings all over his hands in school but never his ring finger.

Sirius recalled one of his last conversations with his brother. “It’s special Sirius I’m saving the spot for an important ring, it won’t be taken up by some family crest that doesn’t mean shit”

He walked out of that bar wondering who regulus went home with that night. Did he have kids? How long has he been wearing that ring for? And a million more questions he didn’t want to unpack.

Sirius now goes to the same bar every Friday night and watches his greatest loss sing and play the guitar with a ringed hand

Sirius was in a foul humour. He had had a shitty week and a shitty Christmas, making him wish quickly for the new year to come and wash the traces of it away. His bad mood wasn't helped by the meeting that had been in the back of his mind all day. When Edgar had talked to Sirius about meeting up with Regulus, Sirius had as good as laughed in his face. Whatever Regulus had to say Sirius had very little interest in, their relationship having been severed a long time ago. But despite the frown on his face all day, and telling himself it wasn't worth going, Sirius pulled his hood over his head as he left work and rushed through the rain to The Leaky Cauldron.

He kept his hood up as he made his way through the pub, hoping it would make it easier to get through without being noticed. He tugged it down as he reached the appropriate door, running his hand through his hair with a sigh before he knocked on the door. What did he have to lose? He stepped in as the door opened, closing it behind him with a frown on his face. He just nodded at his brother in greeting.

Through a series of carefully coded notes via Edgar Bones (as if the auror had nothing better to do with his time) Regulus had arranged to meet Sirius in a hired room at the Leaky Cauldron to discuss the recent changes in Regulus' allegiance. The room had been booked under Edgar's name, lest someone nosy took an interest in the Black family name. He was too shit scared to invite Sirius to his home - Andromeda had been one thing, but if a family member popped in and Sirius was there all hell would break loose. Plus, he wasn't entirely sure how this would go and he wasn't sure he wanted his brother knowing where he lived in case it all went to shit.

The whole day running up to their meeting Regulus had felt sick, desperately wanting his brother's approval and yet fearing his brother may turn him away because of his past. He'd got to the Leaky Cauldron half an hour early and had spent some time setting up silencing charms and wards around the room, just in case of eavesdroppers. Once that was done, all he had left to do was pace around nervously and wait to see if Sirius would show up. @siriusbpadfoot

To say Sirius wasn't prepared for Reggie showing up at his door in the middle of the night was an understatement. When he sat on him and forced him to memorize the address of his new place with the Marauders in case of an emergency, he'd never expected him to actually use it. They'd never quite seen eye to eye when it came to their family, but unlike the rest of them, Sirius couldn't help himself still loving him. He was his baby brother. He'd protected him until he was old enough that it was embarrassing to have his big brother fighting his battles for him (and maybe a little after, if he could get away with it).

The alarmed look hadn't quite faded from his expression, but it was at least as much from the state of Regulus as it was from the unexpected visit. It had been a long time since he'd been needed to comfort him. Sirius had a lot of answers to that question, most of them downright venomous, but it wasn't the time for running his mouth about the Most Noble House of Black when Reggie was already upset. He sat with his arm around his shoulders, petting his hair like he did when they were kids. "Nothing's ever good enough for them, Reg. I'm so sorry."

unfortunately i don’t think i’d be the person to write a full length wedding fic 🥲 it’s just not my vibe. i might write blurbs referencing it, bring it up in fics (like with the fifth and sixth wheel series) or write out some funny dialogue i think i’d see, but beyond that weddings are so intricate and personal that i’d struggle getting it in a reader insert format

however, i present to you some random thoughts:

when i write reg x reader, i always imagine barty as trying to be both reader’s man of honour and reg’s best man lol

like he would CAMPAIGN to get to be both. and he’d likely win

i fear you’d have to share him and then have one more for each that’s just yours (for slytherin!reader i picture you have dorcas and he has evan or pandora) (potentially, reg has sirius and you have remus)

barty would by far be the most chaotic in the wedding party, but i believe he brings the kind of chaos those friend groups need to get through something as hectic as a wedding

he would have the “go, go, go!” attitude and the nerve to say “shut the fuck up” when needed

and you best believe that if anyone else cause drama, he’d be at their NECK. he threatens sirius from start to end of the wedding, even though he is on his best behaviour and super happy for his baby brother (fighting with him is just instinct for barty)

most of the black family were not invited and barty places evan at the door to ensure they do NOT try to sneak their way in. if they do, well then barty gets an opportunity to let out some steam

i can picture barty taking on an almost bridezilla persona as the best man to take some of the heat and stress off of you and reggie — he is the bad guy so you don’t have to

if you do end up having some kind of meltdown over the planning, his energy would switch up sooo fast and he would be the most caring, gentle creatures, cooing and cradling you while snapping at whoever’s closest to go get reggie

as for speeches, i think barty and sirius make the two “main” speeches, while dorcas makes a small toast and pandora recites a poem

i just knowwwww barty’s speech would have people so torn between cackling with laughter and tearing up — truly, they get whiplash, every other sentence is hilarious and heartwarming

(barty is seemingly none the wiser that people have to catch their breaths from the energy changes)

here’s a little brief summary for my main four

— in my better cr it’s probably one of the easier realities for my s/o to find jasmines : if it wasn’t clear already, my bf is indian as well, actually, he’s the same “kind” of indian as i am, from the next state over, same language, same religion . so it’s easy for for him to find jasmines garlands for me, but the beauty of the matter comes from how he sits me down to carefully pin them in my hair, taking each garland strand and weaving it into my braid before tying it off in the end. i can actually feel how gentle he would be with it, i can even smell the jasmines if i just take a second to imagine . trust, the minute the two of us can stop hiding our relationship, i will be handing him every single flower i get in a festival or function or wtv, bcs i want him to secure it in my hair. even if it’s simply a common garden flower that we come across during a date, i can see him take the time to carefully tuck it in between my hair before carrying on like that was the most normal thing to do, like my heart isn’t racing ready to leap out of my chest in this very moment

— in my marauders dr regulus would usually just give me any small flower he found that he thought i would like, but after learning my favourite, he would undoubtedly conjure up jasmine flowers on command, he probably looked up the specific spell just to learn it for me hehe . they’d disappear after a few hours, and that’s always a little sad but that’s also what makes them so lovely and so special, he took the time to learn a totally unnecessary spell simply bcs he knew it would make me happy, and he even modified the spell so that the intoxicating scent of the jasmines would waft around me, like a calming ambience but for my senses. and when he finally finds what he’s looking for in the hogsmeade apothecary — a few vials half filled with water housing a couple stems of jasmine flower buds — he buys the lot and would carefully coax them to bloom so that i’d finally have a real garland of jasmines in my hair

— in my arrowverse dr it’s one of those small little wishes that i never really share with anyone, no one knows how much i love having small flowers weaved through my hair. barry definitely noticed that i love the smell of jasmines and looks out for jasmine scented perfume or candles, specifically for that reason . but it isn’t until we find ourselves on an undercover op in a river village town in south india that barry notices how my eyes light up when one of the village elders carefully tied up the jasmine flowers into a long garland and handed it to me. by the time we got back to central city barry had learned how to make a flower chain — whenever he’s free you’ll find him fiddling in a corner until he’s got at least six or seven little wildflowers tied together before handing it to me or circling the garland around the base of my ponytail or something like that

— in my kpop dr i actually make a point of demonstrating to people, to the fandom, that i enjoy having flowers in my hair. it’s very common to find clips of me throughout my years as an idol, where i pick off a small flower from the stem of a tree or a bush and give it a little shake near the grass (in case of any stray crawlies) before wearing it . this became such a noticeable unofficial trademark that even our groups concept photos lean into it, placing me or all of the girls in flower crowns, or pinning flowers to my slick back bun when we have a photoshoot. so, in that way, jungwon isn’t unfamiliar with my love for flowers as a hair accessory. but what makes it special from him is something so typically jungwon — every little flower that he finds and gives to me, he will place it in my hair whilst telling me some random fact about the flower, something he just happened to know off the top of his head, or he’ll tell me a small anecdote about how he found it, he’ll share a little story with me, and i don’t think he does this for any particular reason, but for me, it helps me remember those flowers so much more . also bcs one of my hobbies in this dr is pressing flowers and i will nine times out of ten press the flowers that jungwon gives me after i’ve worn them in my hair all day
