Please take the time to review our Rules and Filter Guidelines, as we've made several updates to both in preparation for the 2025 event. This year, we're taking big steps to address concerns regarding excessive competition on Art Fight. Hello, fellow fandom-obsessed creatives! Please join us for the 10th (!!!) edition of #AggressivelyArospecWeek!

Every year, #AggressivelyArospecWeek (#AAW for short) is an occasion to promote the creation of arospec fancontent by arospec creators. For an entire week, people on the aromantic spectrum celebrate their experiences through fandom and art.

For this event, "fancontent" means any creation related to a fandom, whether it's a headcanon, a piece of meta, fanfic, fanart, a playlist,... All fandoms are welcome!

The content created for this event should center a character's arospec identity (this can be a canon identity or a headcanon).

We only accept entries from creators who identify as being on the aromantic spectrum or who are questioning whether they might be.

This event is an opportunity for creators to explore their identities through fanwork within a supportive community. It's also a perfect way for fans of all kinds (arospec or not) to enjoy art and have fun!

Join us from June 22 to June 28 2025 for an explosion of arospec fancontent on your dash!

To submit content to the event, please make a new post between June 22 and June 28 and tag it as #AggressivelyArospecWeek. You can also submit your work directly to our blog through the ask and submission boxes. Your post will then be shared on the Aggressively Arospec blog.

A collection will also be opened on Archive of Our Own to round up all the fanfics posted on there. Just search for "Aggressively Arospec Week '25" in the "Post to collections" tab when you're posting on AO3.

Okay Canadians, it's our turn to vote and we've got to try not to mess it up like certain other countries.

Election day is THIS MONDAY (APRIL 28TH).

If you are a Canadian citizen and at least 18, you can vote.

If you didn't advance vote / mail vote, then you must go on Monday. Check out [elections dot ca], all you need is your postal code and it will tell you where your voting station is and the hours. Lines were long in some places on day 1 of advance voting, but that's extremely rare. You should be in and out in 15 minutes tops normally.

You do not need to check registration or anything. You are probably registered if you have filed taxes and checked the box for election registration, but even if you have moved since then, it is fine. If you are not on their physical list already on Monday, they will add you in like 1 minute with your ID. It's easy. Trust me, for some reason I am perpetually not registered despite always checking the tax form box, so I go through it every election. It takes 60 seconds and they don't judge you.

You need to bring: your government photo ID OR 2 pieces of pseudo ID like a utility bill and your student ID where at least one has your address. If you have none of the above, but you have a friend who lives in the same polling station area, you can literally bring them and they are allowed to vouch for you and you just sign a declaration page that you are not doing voter fraud.

Have to work? You are legally required to have 3 consecutive hours to vote. If your shift somehow doesn't have 3 consecutive hours off during the time your polling station is open, your job must give you the extra time off with pay to make it 3 consecutive hours. It's on the elections canada page under the FAQ if you don't believe me.

Also I'm not saying your hockey team will lose in the playoffs if you don't vote, but I'm not not saying that either.

WELCOME TO RESPLENDENT: A ZINE DEDICATED TO CHINESE DRAMAS

This zine is dedicated to the broad, wonderful world of Chinese language dramas; from modern to costume, from historical to wuxia. We're a team of passionate drama fans who wanted to find a way to celebrate this (in our opinion underappreciated) source of media with other fans.

The aim of this collaborative zine is to be a joyful celebration of Chinese language dramas in all the happiness and entertainment they've brought us over the years.

Applications open on JULY 31ST, 2025 at midnight US CST. We will post a link to the form on our twitter, tumblr, bsky, and carrd at that time.

This is a week to appreciate all of the incredible characters and relationships within Tolkien’s legendarium that fall under the broad category of “gen.” There is a great wealth of wonderful gen content in the Tolkien fandom, but those creations are not always the most visible because of the shipping-focused nature of fandom at large. This week is an effort to give them the appreciation they deserve.

This year, Tolkien Gen Week will run from August 11-17, 2025!

Any content and creations are welcome as long as it is non-romantic and non-sexual! You can create edits, gifs, fanart, fanfic, fanmixes, and more! Yeah, same. That's why we're excited to announce the launch of the 911, ACTUALLY ARCHIVE! The archive houses galleries for all the series, past and present, with dedicated sections for the original 9-1-1 series as well as 9-1-1: Nashville and 9-1-1: Lone Star. We will be cataloging everything we post here — promotional material for the shows, episode stills, cast appearances, professional photoshoots and more — all of the highest possible quality available! Similarly Gato allows fanmerch of her BTD and TPOF characs as long as it's your own art you are selling (and not like, our art/someone else's fanart that they didn't give permission to turn into merch).

No and not really - though he is a bit more sensitive to light compared to a human as he has much better night vision than a human. He may also be able to see more colours than humans 🤔

There is technically no "stereotypical" demon in my 'verse, there's a bunch of different species each with their own looks/powers, so if he was another species then he'd have their physical characteristics. Rire's species is considered "plain" because outwardly they can pass more easily as a human than say; Izm's species (who have a really noticeable Glasgow smile-esque mouth as one of their physical features).

He's the king of his sector and his sector is pretty well-to-do, I think you can draw your own conclusions from that lol.

Your second q has two answers depending on what context I answer them in, so I'll reply in the BTD context keeping in mind a charac like EP's Cain :d Basically yes Rire would be able to sense them like he does other demons. It's not a specific sense of "THIS CHARAC IS AN ANGEL" but more like "this charac is not human" and depending on what else he gets from it a "in your best interests to not engage".

Something big with long black fur and yellow eyes, maybe like a Norwegian Forest Cat or a Maine Coon.

The Owl House Cookbook Zine FAQ

What is this?

We are putting together a free, digital cookbook fanzine with recipes, fanfic, meta/trivia, and fanart inspired by the food of the Boiling Isles. To honor Luz, Camila, and Manny, we would also like to include Dominican and Puerto Rican cuisine — potentially with a Demon Realm twist. 

We're taking inspiration from cookbook fanzines in other fandoms as well as the fantastic @vee-fanzine (check it out!).

Are there content restrictions?

Contributions must be food-themed and related to The Owl House. The main zine will only accept G or T rated fanworks. We are still deciding on whether to include alcoholic beverages in the main zine, as a separate download, or not at all for this volume.

What roles are there?/How can I contribute?

We'd like 2-5ish mods in total, chefs who can take the lead in developing recipes, recipe testers, people who research food-related trivia from the show, writers to put relevant trivia/meta in blurbs/recipe notes, fanfic writers, beta readers, fan artists, and anyone else who'd like to brainstorm/discuss recipes, bread puns, and other fanzine contributions.

Do I need to apply to contribute?

Mod applications are open through June 22nd since @findmeinthefallair and @zyrafowe-sny would like a couple more people to help run the event.

Starting June 14th, we will have a non-binding interest form we'd like all potential participants to fill out. We do not have a formal application/screening process for contributors. Because this is a digital zine, we don't have to worry about page length and can accept all contributions that meet the guidelines and are submitted by the due date.

When is it being released?

We are aiming for the third anniversary of Thanks to Them (October 15, 2025) and are hoping to release a second volume on the anniversary of Watching and Dreaming (April 8, 2026).

Will there be a print edition?

At this time, we want to keep this zine relatively simple and accessible by only providing a digital download. We're hoping the digital edition can be printable for personal use and are not completely ruling out an organized print run in the future, but the logistics around a print edition are complicated and hard copies/shipping can be pricey.

Have you ever looked in vain for the perfect fic between your two favorite drivers who've spoken less than six words to each other? Look no further! We are a fest hosted by ro @oscarpiastriwdc and jo @princesscharlesofmonaco, dedicated to creating fanworks celebrating the under-sung pairings of the Formula One fandom.

Timeline:

Prompting is open until February 1. Submissions for the fest are due March 8. The works will be revealed anonymously on March 14 and de-anonymized on March 16, just in time for the opening race of the 2025 season.

Ground Rules:

You must claim a prompt, self-prompt, or use the "open" prompt to post your work in the ao3 collection.

All works must be properly tagged.

There is a 1500 word minimum for written works.

Your work must center a "rare pair" — you can use your discretion as to what that means. (that being said, if you post lestappen or landoscar I will cry -jo)

Do I have to claim a prompt? To post into the collection, you have to claim a prompt. However, you are free to claim a prompt written by another user, self-prompt and claim for yourself, or use the "open" prompt available for anyone to post into the collection.

15k has been raised on chuffed!! Have we hit the goal for the evacuation this week?

Yes!!!!! We are in the critical phase of the fundraiser now that evacuation is actually tenable, and the donations that come in now will decide whether or not people check out once they mistakenly believe the family no longer needs support. Our full target is still $40,000 to pay for Manal's life-saving hysterectomy in New Cairo and for the treatment of Mohamed's wounds and Sarah's illness. As of today, though, December 10th 2024 -- by some small miracle -- we have indeed hit our short-term goal and Mohamed is now able to register himself and his two remaining children to join their mother Manal when she is transported to Egypt. This is a tremendous relief and Mohamed shares his gratitude with everyone who has made this possible. Please check out the FAQ I have set up for more details of the Al Manasra family's situation. I am hesitant to count any of our chickens until the family is 1) actually completely registered, since these donations only reach Mohamed $3,500 at a time and 2) actually evacuated! and then 3) that Manal receives the treatment she needs once they safely make it to Egypt. Both the hospital director and the recent delegation from Jordan has agreed that Manal evacuation must happen as quickly as possible due to her deteriorating health, although we are prevented from sharing a concrete date because the occupation controls the crossings and everyone should know by now how the occupation behaves. The irony of this Palestinian family being forced to pay for private hospital services while American taxpayer money funds single-payer healthcare for Israeli citizens as well as the bombs dropped on Gaza cannot be understated. Manal would not be put at the top of the evacuation list unless there was a high likelihood agreed upon by doctors that she can make a full recovery in Egypt. This remains the family's lifeline. Please remember that the last minute holiday gifts market is still open through the 14th! Artist submissions are back open today due popular demand + original offerings selling out.
