रिटायरमेंट के बाद कब तक सरकारी बंगले में रह सकते हैं पूर्व CJI? समझिए

पूर्व चीफ जस्टिस डीवाई चंद्रचूड़ से सरकारी बंगला खाली कराने को लेकर सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने केंद्र सरकार को चिट्ठी लिखी है. यह पहली बार है जब सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने ऐसा कोई कदम उठाया है. पूर्व चीफ जस्टिस चंद्रचूड़ 10 नवंबर 2024 को रिटायर हो गए थे लेकिन अब भी सरकारी बंगले में रह रहे हैं. इसलिए सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने केंद्र सरकार को चिट्ठी लिखी है और बंगला खाली कराने की मांग की है. सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने केंद्र को भेजी चिट्ठी में कहा है कि रिटायरमेंट के 8 महीने बाद भी इस बंगले में रह रहे हैं.

पूर्व सीजेआई चंद्रचूड़ दिल्ली में कृष्णा मेनन मार्ग पर स्थित 5 नंबर बंगले में रह रहे हैं. यह चीफ जस्टिस का आधिकारिक आवास होता है. हालांकि, पूर्व सीजेआई चंद्रचूड़ रिटायरमेंट के बाद भी 8 महीने से यहां रह रहे हैं. इसलिए अब सुप्रीम कोर्ट एडमिनिस्ट्रेशन ने केंद्र सरकार को चिट्ठी लिखी है और मांग की है कि इस बंगले को खाली कराया जाए और सुप्रीम कोर्ट के हाउसिंग पूल को सौंपा जाए. सुप्रीम कोर्ट एडमिनिस्टेशन ने इसे लेकर 1 जु��ाई को आवास और शहरी मामलों के मंत्रालय को यह चिट्ठी लिखी थी.

SC to hear on Tuesday Masjid Committee’s plea against ‘pooja’ in Gyanvapi cellar

The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear on Tuesday the plea filed by the Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee against the Varanasi court’s order allowing Hindu parties to offer prayers and pooja in the southern cellar or basement (tehkhana) of the Gyanvapi Mosque.

As per the causelist published on the website of the apex court, a bench presided over by CJI DY Chandrachud will take up the matter for hearing on July 23.

Indian Supreme Court’s decision to not legalise same sex marriage is definitely heartbreaking and a major step back for LGBTQ+ rights in the country but it’s important to note that CJI Chandrachud does understand the issue at hand and did clarify the basics that the majority in the nation fail to understand.

The lawyers who represented the Government kept arguing that Same Sex marriage cannot be legalised on a national scale because it is an “urban-elite” notion perpetrated by consumption of western ideology.

So if I am slightly happy about anything it is that our CJI made a statement specifically against this argument.
