They said they "found it on Reddit" so they just decided to steal it and post it ig?? Ugh!!

Wow, that's a whole other repost to the one I thought it was going to be, lol. It's been reposted to TikTok once before, and I'm also not surprised this person got it from Reddit, where I doubt I was credited either.

At the end of the day I appreciate the heads up but there's nothing I can really do about it. The most helpful thing anyone can do is to leave comments on the reposts to provide credit,* because if artists ever try and comment then we pretty invariably get attacked. Don't be mean or aggressive, that just builds their animosity towards the artists, but I do think people respond positively to outside pressure to do the right thing 🤷

*Remember to make sure there's enough context - eg. something like "art by @ landegart on Twitter" is more searchable/useful than "artist is Landeg" to someone on TikTok who has no idea who I am haha

No, I'm not writing fanfic right now. The Content Locusts have drained me dry of motivation, sorry. I've literally opened a different fic every day to write during my downtime, and I ALWAYS end up doing something else. The lack of commenting and engagement makes the executive dysfunction win. *shrug* All I'm doing is making myself feel bad and I don't have time for that shit when the world is so fucked up.

So to my VarricHawke and Nate x Cousland friends, I'm very sorry. You guys are the best, it's everything else that sucks. You guys are awesome. But the deafening silence from everything else I fear has sapped my will to write and I'm too poor to be shipped off to the seaside for my health. I don't even have a fainting couch.

I was getting somewhere for a while by stressing myself out and forcing myself to write, which is something I CAN do, but it's not good for me. So I'm not going to. Writing is not a punishment and it's not a duty.

Stress is very motivating to me, but I can't kill myself with it, sorry.

Be sure to always download those fics that stick with you. There are several sites to save fics from sites like FFN, and AO3 has a built-in downloader with multiple formats to choose from. Fanfics get deleted often so always, always make sure to keep your favorites somewhere as a backup.

I already did for those few fics that means a lot to me. Thankfully too since sadly in one case the author left and took all of their work with them. Right now I dont read a lot of new fics but I always get back up of my wifes favourites as well! You never know!
