How Anger Shaped the World: The Fire That Forged History

It’s true—anger has a bad reputation. It’s blamed for wars, feuds, and ruined relationships. But what if I told you that without anger, civilization might never have advanced? That the world as we know it was built, in part, by the fire of indignation? Let's take a journey through time and science to see how this force shaped human history.

I think one thing genuinely missing from Veilguard was court intrigue. This is of course true from the perspective of the events in game but it is also, crucially, true from the glimpses we see into Solas/The Dread Wolfs past prior to the veil coming down.

One of the most intriguing little moments in DAI is when Solas begins waxing poetic about how he missed court intrigue, politics, how these places linger with sex. If you call him on that and ask hey WHEN did you experience that, he immediately gives you disapproval. This is the closest the inquisitor can get prior to trespasser to catching him in an outright lie and KNOWING it.

Further, the dalish tales that we have heard about Solas say that he could walk in multiple worlds, and pass himself off as whatever the moment called for; that's one of his trickster aspects.

Yet in absolutely all of the visions we see in the past the rebellion is literally just fighting or breaking into a location to fight in there. The closest we get to that not being the case is breaking into ghilianhans lab but even then it's just fight fight fight the whole way through. When Solas and Elganan are speaking to one another, they frame it as them being family or siblings having an argument rather than as the sort of political rivals that I had imagined from DAI.

Part of me wonders if this was yet another sacrifice of Joplin (the original plan for DA4) which was a sneaky heist game. Joplin sounded like it would take a lead on some of its major missions from missions in the past like Wicked Eyes Wicked Hearts in DAI and Mark of the Assassin in DA2. DAtV simplified a lot of those concepts down, making the game polished in terms of technical gameplay but lacking in critical roleplay decisions which I think are more key to a game focused around politics and court intrigue. The decision to make Solas a lone actor rather than the leader of the dreadwolfs agents also slashed the chance at this; making the game the first in the series where none of the companions have ulterior motives in joining your group/none of them are lying to you.

But ultimately I do think it's sad we never truly got to see Solas act the dreadwolf in regard to court politics. It sounded like he really did miss it and it sounded like a side of him that we had only glimpsed briefly in DAI; I was excited to see it in all it's glory.

Rant under the cut (people telling me to change things about my blog [like the way I tag things???] and just general Rings of Power hate towards me

Hey just so you know, it's not my job to cater my personal blog (that I made for fun) to your personal preferences. This is a Rings of Power & LOTR blog. I am going to post about both because it's my blog. If you only follow me for my Rings of Power stuff, great! If you only follow me for my LOTR stuff? Also great! follow me for both? Awesome! Spectacular even! but like, If you don't like one of the fandoms I post about, then block the tags or just ignore it instead of going onto MULTIPLE OF MY POSTS and messaging me, telling me what to change about MY BLOG.

This is all because I tagged something Rings of Power related with a LOTR tag and a few people got mad at me (comments and messages) saying that "The Rings of Power isn't LOTR??? Can you not tag it like that I don't want to see Rings of Power stuff. I follow for LOTR" like what???

They exist in the same universe whether you like it or not?? And lots of people tag TROP stuff with LOTR tags too. Plus, sometimes I am talking about both in the same post (like comparing and contrasting things that are the same or different from the show and movies) so I am going to use both tags for that. Besides, why are you telling a complete stranger who posts her stuff for fun to make her blog okay for YOU? I make my blog and posts for me so... Maybe just block me and move on if you don't like how I post things, or tag things.

Also, it's not my problem if you don't like Rings of Power?? Don't interact with it then?? Like, you can control that? My blog is pretty clearly a Rings of Power blog. I literally have Morfydd Clark's Galadriel as my pfp lol

If you don't like it don't interact with it. I could care less if somebody hates the show I genuinely enjoy because it doesn't affect my enjoyment if someone dislikes it. Just don't be a bully and don't tell me how to run my blog because it's upsetting when the only comments I get are "I don't like this show can you stop posting about it," and "Don't use those tags pls I don't like seeing Rings of Power on my feed."

Cater your experience to you and I'll cater my experience to me. If you are going to be entitled and tell me how to run my blog, I am just going to block you <3

for all its flaws the MCU genuinely had incredible potential, it had a good cast and good directors, it was building on and fleshing out the source material in interesting new ways, it was character-driven and the characters were compelling, it was building an intertwined world and for a while it really did work, and despite its current reputation even the visuals could be striking and the humour could be effective. but it built up these interesting stories and it squandered them over and fucking over because above all else the MCU is run by spineless fucking cowards

this sounds like obvious bullshit "don't suck" advice but ive seen a rise of this kind of thing online lately where someone uses language they dont know is offensive, or accidentally talks over someone, or misses a social cue of some sort (like doesnt notice when someones getting more terse/annoyed if it isnt stated outright, or cant memorize a massive discord blacklist) and is yelled at or called stupid or otherwise like. "everyone knows that" or "it's obviously x"

like. i get its annoying. but for the love of god have some understanding and dont treat people like they intended to personally harm you as your FIRST conclusion
