Okay, my thoughts about Jegulus|Drarry|NottPott|Jeverus similarities & differences.
Let’s start with Drarry & Jeverus similarities. And before you ask: in this case it’s James - Draco and Severus - Harry parallels. They are different people though, so parallels, not copies.
One of them is pureblood, proud and full of himself (Draco, James) and the other is a halfblood, that grew up in abusive household (Severus, Harry). Yes, Potters are rich, unlike Snapes, but did it help Harry specifically? Not really.
They have a very open rivalry/hostility that sometimes escalate into a full on fight. In Drarry’s case it’s rather homoerotic in some moments. I’m not going to list them, bc my understanding of homoerotic is def not the same as yours, but you can probably remember some. We cannot tell if Jeverus had the same dynamics, bc we’re not shown much and also told that they fought over a girl. But they had a hostile relationship.
Also, in Jeverus case we can’t tell if it was one-sided or not. Drarry definitely was a rivalry, not just hostility. But Jeverus? We don’t have enough canon material. Snape did retaliate, surely, but did he start some of the fights? We don’t know. I think it was a rivalry, based on some canon bits, but that's just my thoughts. But was James obsessed with Severus? Probably.
Draco tries to humiliate Harry (“Potter stinks” badges, “Dementors” during quidditch, etc.) And “Snape’s worst memory” exists. I don’t like Snape, that’s true, but damn, I feel bad for him in that moment. It’s mixed, because he also calls Lily a slur in the same scene, but still.
Draco saves Harry’s live (DH, in the Malfoy manor). To Draco it’s also an action against his family. James saves Severus in the Shrieking Shack, when Sirius gets him there while Remus is transformed. It’s an action against Sirius. Please, tell me you understand what I mean, please, I cannot put it into words.
If we go into Cursed child, there’s also some interesting things. Draco outgrew his rivalry with Harry, like James did, became a better person for his wife and son. Harry… Harry didn’t, at least not entirely. Harry, just like Snape, judges a child by his father’s actions (seeing Scorpius as a “dark cloud” near Albus and all that). He’s not as bad as Snape, but he still sees “sins of the father”.
Thank you for coming into my Ted Talk, I guess. I’ll post about Jegulus - NottPott another time, this is already really long…
#harry potter#headcanon#fandom discussion#jeverus#drarry#harry potter fandom#harry potter and the cursed child#snape is difficult character to grasp#and james is too bc we have so little#and none of the sources are unbiased#you can make them rivals or you can make them a bully and a victim#the point is we don't know#but i hate jkr#so it's better if we never know#she'd fuck it up so bad#also you can contextualize Drarry to make them more or less shipable#is that a word?#like you can focus on the details that make them more inclined to be a ship#english is hard#marauders era#lightning era#I'm ready for hate#and i will cry

spending the day switching between a psychological horror and a pwp wip has been an emotional experience i can't really recommend tbh
#the horror is more contextually appropriate with the Things happening today and the absolutely horrendous weather#but it was giving me ✨️ anxiety ✨️ and last time i did this i ended up with a blown light bulb and then my oven exploded#(element not the whole thing but still scared the fuck out of me standing next to it and they happened just a couple minutes apart)#(without any connection. super weird coincidence. pretty sure i got cursed writing hyhy lol)#can't say i want to go through that again and the pwp is fun. don't think i've brought up the idea on here besides telling rae#if i keep up the way i'm going it could be finished relatively soon tbh#if i don't switch back to the horror anyway. it is also fun and weirdly therapeutic#at least i'm writing i guess lmao#thoughts and prayers pls#chewy ramblings

Was trying to figure out why Hansel and Gretel randomly appeared in a book I was reading, with candy house backstory and everything, in a story that otherwise was not directly informed by a specific fairy tale. At least to my knowledge, it all felt pretty original, until the villainous antagonist started spinning straw into gold and mentioned being betrayed by a miller's daughter and I cupped my head in my hands like, ah, th-the way to defeat him... they gotta figure out his true name... this whole time... he's been rumpelstiltskin.
#rose and rambles#okay but actually im going to agonize over this choice a bit#like i feel like the hansel and gretel was specifically to prepare us for rumpel but if you took out all three of their names#i wonder#i wonder if that could have been better#because the world building and everything felt *really* spectacularly original and obviously more fae inclined than either#of those fairy tales and the main narrative was not rumpelstiltskin the rumpelstiltskin fairy tale was just backstory#and it was kind of jarring when Hansel and gretel appeared midway for a chapter or two but i guess it contextualized the world for me#Because I *hadn't* been thinking of it as having *direct* fairy tales in it#i think having two characters be like 'ya a woman tricked us with a house made of candy' is obviously a reference to hansel and gretel but#i think it could have felt more natural if it wasn't *directly* hansel and gretel#but a bro and sis with different names that fit the main characters better?#BUT THEN rumpelstiltskin's name does come into play and how else are you going to lead up to the fact that a character has been using a fak#name? you can't have a villain just randomly being like CURSES YOU GUESSED MY TRUE NAME#WHICH IS JOHN#like there's no way. you have to build up to it but once the audience is like oh ya we know hansel and gretel were here and the straw into#gold? got it. know the villain has a different name before the protagonists and also *know* the name to boot. Great#but then the name didn't seem............. necessary in the end anyway because they had him with a contract and they used that to get#the name out him??????????#So maybe it could have been a different name????????#idk#i will say i did love the main characters#They were pretty incredible actually

I love the thought you put in when considering the historical context when making your shipping chart. Also corderín?!?! Need some lore on that
— Penalanon
It makes me irrationally annoyed doing them because, even though I'm obviously fully conscious of the fact that these charts are intended to be very general, I'm still reading it like, "'Asked him out'???? Their marriage was arranged!!!!!!" But I tried to do it to the best of my ability and to stay within the bounds of historical context 🫡 The one about cooking that I scratched out is so funny to me because it's like. They've probably never even stepped into the l kitchen as adults, so??? Its a shame though, I had to give up on some other charts because it was so impossible 😭
Ahhhh, okay, so one time someone asked me to draw Seb with a lamb! I've also described him as a "wolf in lamb's clothing" before, and have described his appearance as a lamby lambykins. Very adorable, appears very unassuming and trusting, has soft fluffy hair, etc.
Someone then told me that "corderín" is an affectionate word for "lamb" in the part of Spain where Fernando is from. How perfect!!! It's so weirdly soft for Fernando, right? Well his favorite dish IS lamb.... Though it's one of those things he'd probably be very evasive and vague about. He's called Seb other names in Spanish before, usually insults haha, but Seb is pretty terrible at Spanish, so he constantly BEGS and PLEADS Fernando to tell him what he's calling him. And what is the Spanish equivalent of "puppy dog eyes"? Lamb eyes....
#i was gonna say 'sebito' or something along those lines but#one. im not confident abt how they would've made up diminutives of names back then in Spanish#i mean we say nando and nano today but back then. (in german) it would be Nandl!(greatest tidbid i ever found truly)#i think the nicknames of seb would more be smth like basti and bastl and bastito or that type of name? seb is more modern i think#im unsure so id rather go w a more contextual nickname#which i think is more fitting for fernando bcs like i put in the chart. hes quite secretive and standoffish#but he has own little nicknames for sebby...hehehe#their other nicknames are DEFINITELY insults and curses#he might call him a cat and such too. he does in his head sometimes. many animal nicknames#meanwhile seb tries out every variation of fernando he possibly can#calls him ferdinand to piss him off#catie.asks.#boy king au

A bold, clever, and sublimely sinister collection that dares to ask the question: "Are you ready to be un-settled?"
Many Indigenous people believe that one should never whistle at night. This belief takes many forms: for instance, Native Hawaiians believe it summons the Hukai'po, the spirits of ancient warriors, and Native Mexicans say it calls Lechuza, a witch that can transform into an owl. But what all these legends hold in common is the certainty that whistling at night can cause evil spirits to appear--and even follow you home.
These wholly original and shiver-inducing tales introduce readers to ghosts, curses, hauntings, monstrous creatures, complex family legacies, desperate deeds, and chilling acts of revenge. Introduced and contextualized by bestselling author Stephen Graham Jones, these stories are a celebration of Indigenous peoples' survival and imagination, and a glorious reveling in all the things an ill-advised whistle might summon.
Featuring stories by: Norris Black - Amber Blaeser-Wardzala - Phoenix Boudreau - Cherie Dimaline - Carson Faust - Kelli Jo Ford - Kate Hart - Shane Hawk - Brandon Hobson - Darcie Little Badger - Conley Lyons - Nick Medina - Tiffany Morris - Tommy Orange - Mona Susan Power - Marcie R. Writing Tips - Character Strengths And Weaknesses
So characters need to have strong and weak points to keep them interesting and prevent them from seeming too stagnant; a character without strengths feels flat and boring, while a character without weaknesses feels overpowered and stagnant. So when it comes to character creation, how do we come up with good strengths and weaknesses?
1. Archetype. What role does your character fill in the story? Would any of the typical strengths and weaknesses for characters in that role apply to them? Could they be modified or altered to better fit?
2. Backstory. What was their childhood like? Do they have good relationships with their family? Have they worked in certain jobs or participated in activities that would lend themself to a certain skillset, or lack of? What struggles have they faced in the past that might have shaped who they are, for better or for worse?
3. Personality. What is this character like? How much of it comes naturally to them? Is any of it a learned behaviour or coping mechanism? Is any of it an act? How aware are they of this? Is it intentional or just a force of habit? Are the strengths and weaknesses you’re considering compatible with the person they truly are, even if they’re not compatible with the act they might put on?
4. Speaking of compatibility. Does it make sense that your character would have certain strengths or weaknesses depending on these other factors of their life? Are the strengths and weaknesses even compatible with each other? A patient character isn’t likely to be reckless or have a short temper, for example, though of course any combo has the possibility to work when approached with care and consideration
5. Double-edged sword. An easier and, in my personal opinion more interesting, way to approach it is to make the strength and weaknesses stem from the same character trait. A selfless character could struggle to prioritise themself. A loyal character could compromise themself or their objectivity in favour of supporting the people they care about. An overconfident character could get in over their head and underestimate the danger they’re in while taking unnecessary risks, but it would also lead them to taking on opportunities and challenges not many other people would, allowing them unique rewards for putting in the effort and courage. What character trait could you take to an extreme? Would it be good or bad for your character?
6. Character development. What about your character should be different from where they started? Think about the kind of person you want them to be at the end of the story, then inverse that to get them at the start of the story. What journey do they need to go through to develop into the new version of themself? If you want them to end as a responsible, patient and selfless person, they need to start off irresponsible, reckless and selfish. And don’t forget that you can build up negative character traits, and that even heroic characters who are objectively good can keep their less heroic qualities
7. Contextual strengths. Remember in ATLA when Katara couldn’t do much of anything in the desert and Toph was unable to effectively sandbend to the extent she needed to compensate for her blindness? Their strengths were turned into weaknesses, which they later worked to compensate for and improve on. What situation would put your character into the same sort of situation? Are their strengths actually useful in most contexts, or just the context of their environment or situation? Are their weaknesses actually useful, and they’re just not in a position to see this? When taken out of their current situation, would they fumble or thrive?
8. Types of strengths and weaknesses. Characters might have physical strengths and weaknesses, such as physical disabilities, additional features, powers or curses, literal physical strength, etc, but they also might have mental strengths and weaknesses such as intelligence, dexterity, balance, problem solving, a wide range of skills or obscure knowledge, memory, quick-thinking, resourcefulness, social skills, gullibility, etc. Beyond this, there are also separate emotional strengths and weaknesses, such as compassion, emotional intelligence, compartmentalisation, emotional range, self-awareness, insecurities, etc. There’s so much that could become a strength or weakness, and characters can have as many as you like from all three areas
9. Nature vs nurture. What your character has been taught or trained to think and feel and behave like does not inherently mean that this is who they actually are. Depending on their environment and the people around them, two people with the same strengths and weaknesses could end up diverging at critical points to become entirely different people, or two people who couldn’t be any more different could land in a position where they both become more and more alike as time goes on. Our environment and the people in it can shape us, both in our past and in our futures, so don’t leave the present as something stagnant; if a certain trait makes sense for them to have but you don’t want them to have it, have them unlearn it
10. External conflict. What literal journey will your character go on for the story? What strength might be useful for it? What weakness could hinder their efforts? Would these work for their character? If all else fails, make it practical or impractical as desired

hello there!
Can I request a Franco x reader? But where Ayrton Senna is alive in this universe and the reader is Senna? If not, then fine. It's up to you. Thanks in advance 😊😊
ʚɞ a/n: that is my moment!!!!!!!! i often imagine how would it be to have ayrton in contemporary scenarios it's unhealthy lol. i really think he'd be full of jokes and a fun guy just like he was off track. thanks for the request, it was a real nice one to write! (and if anyone has any senna request, i'll be more tham happy to take it! (i'm even willing to write stuff with senna himself))
ʚïɞ "you got me good" FC43
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀↳ masterlist ↳ drop a request! ↳ more franco fluff!

✧₊⁺ franco colapinto x cecília senna (senna!female oc)
✧₊⁺ word count: 1,6k⠀⠀⠀⠀✧₊⁺, gender: crack, fluff.
✧₊⁺ summary: franco and cecília kept a secret relationship and when they decide to come clean, her father was ahead of it and he's a total menace.
✧₊⁺ warnings: alternative universe where that may 1th 1994 didn't happen and ayrton grew old like he deserved to, my hyper focus on that man shown in references, a bit of portuguese properly translated, kinda short and poorly contextualized, curse words, franco is a baby, just soft and light content for the win.
"What do you mean he doesn't know about it?"
Franco took a deep breath, massaging his own scalp as his friend and co-worker continued talking, a mix of excitement and judgment in his words.
"You are not making this any better," he mouthed.
"You are dating his daughter! You are da-ting. The man's daughter. Like... The man's daughter. The hell haven't you met her family!?"
"I am scared, okay!? If I get rejected by her family... It's not just my girlfriend's family. It's simply Senna himself! Should I what!? Drop the job? Hide in a cave?"
Alex laughed, the words and the tone easing the tension. The guy was worried to death and things might be simpler than he thought. Everyone knew Senna was a fun person.
Dating Cecília Senna felt almost like marrying into royalty. It's a good feeling, though. Bagging Cecília Senna could easily be added to one of Franco's big achievements — and he's a former F2 driver called in last minute to fill a Formula One seat — and he's doing great.
But still, it's Cecília Senna, the only child of a legend, someone he looked up to growing up, someone he saw in the paddock many times before ending up in his daughter's sheets.
"Hello, everyone!"
God, his heart might have dropped to the floor just now. The retired driver walked into the garage happily, with his daughter attached to his arm and waving familiarly.
Everyone gathered around them immediately, though Cecília's eyes instantly met Franco's. She knew he was scared and had made fun of him until she couldn't anymore, teasing him in every way she could.
"I've heard the news on the Argentinian! You guys are lucky you got away easily!"
Alright, it's time to pray. What news? That he's fucking his daughter? That they meet every week? That she wanted a Williams' box pass so badly just because of him? Or... That they hid it from everyone just to gain a bit more time?
"We got quality, mate! That's it." Vowels took his cue to fill in the blank, the people dispersing and going back to their work. "Found the kid sparring and made him a beast."
"Yeah, of course," the Brazilian laughed. "What's up, buddy! Feeling the pressure?"
Franco mentally cursed Cecília for raising her eyebrows and doubling the meaning of the question, but he managed to stand up and dry his sweaty hands on his pants.
"I try not to, honestly. Not... think about it a lot," he said, feeling he could have worded the sentence a bit better as they shook hands.
"That's the spirit! I heard a lot about you, little man. Do you know my daughter? Cecília?"
Tricky question. Fuck, fuck, fuck. Tricky question.
If he had heard about it, then he knew about them. Franco could say "yes" and end up with a lecture, or say "no" and be caught in a lie.
"You guys think you are smart, huh? Fooling around, hiding from cameras..."
Oh, it's over. It's over for him. The "drop the job and hide in a cave" plan was almost running in his veins right now. Maybe he should Sebastian Vettel his way around, retire early, and move to a countryside home in Switzerland. Yes, that's a good plan.
"Pai... Para com isso." Cecília shoved her dad's side, rolling her eyes. (Dad... Stop that.)
"What? You guys thought you got away with it?"
"Pai! Ele tá ficando sem graça!" she insisted. (Dad! He's getting uncomfortable!)
Franco thought of speaking up, but the nerves were all up and maybe he should let it be.
"Yeah! He should!" Ayrton still had a serious look on his face, making Franco shiver.
"Pai, sério." (Dad, I'm serious.)
"Sir, I know it—"
"Come on, Franquinho! I'm fooling around, take that scared look off your face!" In a matter of seconds, Ayrton's grin turned into a playful smile, and his arm was hooked over Franco's shoulder, messing up his hair and leaving him even more confused. "Did I scare you? You should have seen your eyes!"
Franco laughed, still a bit dulled. That was a big one.
"You're a bastard," Cecília rolled her eyes once again, aware of the father she had.
The man was a natural jokester, full of little jokes and loved making uncomfortable scenarios in the name of fun. He was a handful.
"And you guys should have told me about this before! You lost it all, Franquinho. Angra, the travels... You need to be introduced to the family!"
He had heard about Angra; the beach house Cecília went to every now and then, how much she and her father loved the place. He even saw an old interview where Ayrton said that his retirement plans included being "Angra's nature inspector."
"Yeah- Yeah, sim." Franco risked some Portuguese, patting Ayrton on the back before they both stepped apart. "Sorry for... for taking too long to meet you, I was- Damn, you got me good."
"I could see!" Senna didn't waste a single laugh. "Don't worry, little boy. You're a good investment. And Cecília is pretty happy, so... you got my support."
"I'm even happier to hear it." Franco chuckled. "Thank you, very much. Your daughter also makes me really happy."
"Of course! Her bad jokes make everyone laugh." Ayrton kept the teasing going. "Now you better show me some racing! I've been in your place and to keep the daughter you need to be as good as dad!"

"You should have seen your face, baby!"
Franco glanced at his girlfriend as he turned his head, their first alone time since the morning's humiliation session.
"I don't wanna talk about it," he mouthed, shirt off and focus switching. "That was traumatizing."
"I told you he's a clown." Her shoulders went up a bit. "But he wasn't lying at the end! He likes you!"
"I got that part. Now I know where you got that dark humor from." The blue-eyed boy stood in the middle of his room, hands on his waist as he let his girlfriend use her eyes.
"What can I say? I am my father's daughter." She smiled mischievously. "He wants you to spend some time, though. Before Vegas, maybe?"
"I could've Max Verstappen my way around and have stayed for the week... But we waited until your dad could scare me to death in the middle of the box so... Yeah, it can be next week." He started simple, voice steady.
But then Cecília approached and her hands liked to touch. All over his torso while she traced a good way for his hair.
"You ain't seen nothing yet." The smile was still on her face, lips coming closer and closer to his. "But I am really happy, you know? Now we can just be and enjoy some time... I can take you to Angra, and I don't need to hide in your driver's room. I was done with pretending I was investing in Williams just so I had a reason to watch the races here."
"Told you about it... You could afford my seat."
Another joke. Ever since he got into F1 as an emergency call, she did say she only had to call her dad and his 2025 seat would be secured.
"You're gonna get it because you deserve it, I am not affording that." She flashed her eyelashes, rimming a single syllable as his hands also started to travel.
Inside her expensive shirt, up and down her back in good pressure before they found room at her waist.
"You know what else I deserve?"
"You freak! Go shower and I'll be waiting for you outside. My dad is around!"

It took them no time. Within weeks, Ayrton and Franco became partners in crime, and suddenly, Cecília was having a taste of her own medicine.
"Turn it off! Now!" Ayrton whispered in a screaming tone, the last signal Franco needed before turning off the power for the whole house.
Cecília had just come back from the beach and Franco finally knew the Angra house. It was dark, and the prank was not very well planned.
"Porra." (Shit.) they heard the Brazilian swearing. "Que inferno, de novo? PAAAAI?" (What the hell, again? DAAAAD?)
He knew some words in Portuguese and it only made it funnier. Him and his father-in-law were hiding in the small laundry room as Cecília searched for them.
"Ready, kid?"
"No, but I'll do it anyways."
"Good kid. You're a great one." The old man, as a new custom, messed with the Argentinian's hair, before opening the door and waiting for him to leave.
"Eu juro, se vocês estiverem armando pra cima de mim eu— Ah— FRANCO! NO!" (I swear, if you guys are planning something against me I—)
He's fast even with his limited knowledge about the furniture in the house, walking in the dark before he could lift her and throw her over his shoulder.
It's the fourth time she's thrown in the pool and she just knows it's her father opening the glass door for the exterior area before she's sinking in cold water.
"I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU ALL!" Cecília screamed. "I JUST WASHED MY HAIR! OH MY GOD! PUTTING YOU TWO TOGETHER WAS THE WORST THING I EVER DID!"
"Não reclama, princesinha..." (Don't you complain, little princess...) her father played, now standing besides her boyfriend. "Bate aqui, you passed the test. Welcome to the family." (High five,)
"I hate you guys. Eu odeio vocês, los odio. Whatever. Don't ever talk to me again." Cecília stomped her way out of the pool, walking straight past them.
"Don't get mad, baby... It's just a joke!"
"Well, boy... It's your girlfriend. Go ease her nerves. You're called Colapinto for a reason."
