Y: Gah! H-how long were you standing there!?
T: Oh, did I scare you? Sorry.
Y: W-Whatever... So, did you... did you find out?
T: Yes. It's the warden.
Y: The warden... W-what- what kind of person is she? If you don't- don't mind me asking...
T: Right, you haven't met her yet...
T: A normal person, I guess. Different from what I expected.
Y: A normal person, huh...

i lied actually, put your clothes back on, let’s discuss how with the explosion of arcane’s fandom there’s simultaneously been a rise in the idea that there is a “right” and “wrong” way to ship characters and that shipping has to be “justified” with moral arguments
#i’m not saying that a piece of art shouldn’t be examined for its philosophical and ethical implications within the text#but shipping as a tradition is pretty separate from those kinds of conversations?#when you log off you’re not inherently a better person because you shipped “the right ship”#also come on we used to be a society with rarepairs and crackships/j#let ships be shipped even if they aren’t the big 3#arcane#fandom#shipping#caitvi#jayvik#timebomb#meljay#skyvik#melvik#meljayvik#melvika#lightcannon#zaundads

I see. Most people in this system don’t seem to deal with much of that, but whether that’s due to a dissociative state or it just not being a big deal, I’m uncertain.
We also have someone who is Very Tall (capitalized for comedic effect). I believe he is several stories tall. Perhaps as tall as Blue or Yellow Diamond, or maybe Alexandrite. Fortunately, he is not aggressive.
…How tall is Mystic Flour Cookie.
[ @peri-log ]
too tall. im scared to ask she’s upset (not at me about our very much Uncomfortable To Live In body) right now :(

Interesting. Aside from me, we have one “non-canon” gem, Iridescent Black Pearl. And no, I’m not bothered by doubles, don’t worry.
Three… Stevens? How do you even do that…? Why do you need so many? (Not that there has to be a need for headmates. I just don’t know another way to phrase the question.
Ahem. Hello! I… hear you have some “Steven Universe” fictives? (As in, from the “series”, not just the person.)
…I am not good at starting conversations.
[ @peri-log ]
Hi and yeah! We have two entirely non canon gems (Lavender Pearl and Sunset Tourmaline, crystal gem Pearl, a peridot fictive if you’re good with doubles, and three separate Stevens lol /positive

If any of you ever end up becoming famous authors in the future and I somehow end up recognising your writing style I pinky promise I’ll take your secret to the grave, no one will know you used to write about fictional dudes deepthroating each other in coffee shop AU’s except you and me 🤝
#I might come to your meet and greet and casually sneak into conversation the name of your old tumblr url#just to see the colour leave your face and the fear build in your eyes#I’ll wink and thank you for your time before you even have a chance to process what’s happening#and then later that night when you log into the old tumblr account you haven’t been on in years you’ll see a new message in your ask box#it’s from an anon with a picture of the book you signed and a little 🌚 sign off

J: Oh, Fuji-kun! I've been looking for you!
Y: Huh? W-what?
J: So this is where you've been hiding out, huh?
Y: I'm not...hiding.
J: Right, right. Of course not. Anyway, I wanted to apologize for before! That wasn't like me at all. You know that, right?
Y: Uh... Okay.
J: So there's no hard feelings?
Y: No, none at all...
J: Good! I knew you'd understand!

I see. As long as you don’t mind questions…
As the Herald of Change, you had six arms. Yet now you only have two. Why is that, if you know? Do you miss having more arms?
What do you think about Golden Cheese Cookie? How do you feel about her? I don’t hold anything you did against you, of course, given that it’s in the past and you’ve changed. (Personally, I’ve always found it strange that there are cheese-flavored cookies.)
Hello, Burning Spice Cookie. Out of curiosity, what is your personality like? Does it diverge from your canon counterpart, and if so, in what ways?
[ @peri-log ]
im honestly very silly and chill. i dont feel the need to like. destroy things anymore which is Great TM(/gen). Me in canon is still me, just me in the past i guess? a lot of Bad Things were going on for me then that aren’t happening anymore and even though there’s new Bad Things they aren’t as bad and i can handle them now, plus i have a support system now!!! Also the fandom is pretty cool all the art of me is very nice and reminds me of when i was Herald of Change!!!! I do still sit in chairs weird though. Me in canon also would not take a break for anything, genuinely. trying to get me to sit down would probably be a waste of energy back then but now i know how to relax and not constantly be doing something!!! Also i like little treats like snacks and tea and chocolates and stuff more!!

heinrix being So Gentlemanly to cassia and the rt, (potentially) growing to be so sweet to idira versus he’s just snarking, stonewalling, and taking shots at jae and her Big Dark Secret is extra hilarious when you realize jae has all the qualities he states he likes (raven hair + olive skin + fiery temperament)
#the interrogator rizz is truly unfathomable#he could also be potentially lying about his tastes ig but it’s funnier if it’s true#also makes me laugh bc of that banter where Jae suggests they have a private conversation ;) and he just flat out goes Save Your Charm#cogitator log

I used to dislike Lazarus Pit Madness headcanons but I've seen people say "he doesn't need magic madness he has normal madness" and "why would you need a magical explanation for his behaviour have you people never heard of cptsd" and while I understand the sentiment (and Jason definitely has cptsd) this is exactly what I'm talking about when I say dc has a dangerous habit of demonizing/villanizing mental illness and it has a real impact on the fandom's perception of mental illness. Winnick isn't the worst when it comes to Jason's writers but the fact that he wrote Jason as both a brilliant hypercompetent villain and a sympathetic character that makes you go "oh hey, he has a point..." should not distract you from the fact that no, decapitation is not a common symptom of cptsd.
#i told myself i'd let it go because I understand the annoyance with the idea of the pit madness#and the points that were made to a certain extent#but i keep seeing it and it's so frustrating#i just had a conversation with a friend the other day who said “oh i never thought about it like that”#“to me it's fine if they don't have accurate depictions of mental illness because it's just comics it doesn't have to accurately depict life#“it's not gonna have an impact”#but then i log in and it visibility has had an impact if people are saying that#and i understand the appeal of jason as a villain#no hate to the fans#this is clearly on dc. they have a responsibility.#also fucking kill the joker omg#dc critical#jason todd#jason todd deserves better#tw psychophobia#red hood#under the red hood critical#i still think red hood jason is a fascinating character#and he does have cptsd#but it's a villanized/demonized depiction of it and we should acknowledge that

Is it ok to convert to Judaism so I can work with Lilith without breaking closed practice rules? Ive been told only jews can work with her. I don't believe in the Jewish god but I believe in Her and feel a connection.
For starters, I don’t know a ton about Lilith, aside from yes, only Jews can work with her. I’m also no expert on conversion, as I’m not a convert nor have I been heavily involved in someone else’s conversion. For this reason, I’d like other Jews who see this, especially converts, to add in their thoughts on the matter. My answer is going to be relatively vague considering the question at hand
That said, I would be very wary of someone converting specifically for Lilith, especially if they don’t believe in any tenets of Judaism. You don’t believe in our god, not all converts do. But there’s so much more to Judaism that conversion requires beyond that belief. My question for you, anon, is what other reasons do you have for converting? If it’s only for Lilith, you don’t actually want to be Jewish. You just want access to a closed practice. Ask yourself: am I ready to join a new culture and ethnicity? Am I ready to face antisemitism? Am I ready to analyze the antisemitic thoughts and beliefs I already have and uphold? Am I ready to support a new community? Am I interested in adopting other beliefs and practices of Judaism?
Talking to a rabbi will likely give you even more questions you need to ask before you can know if conversion is right for you. As I said, I know relatively little about conversion, and I know nothing about you, anon. If you feel serious about converting already, tell a rabbi exactly what you’ve sent me, and ask to have a more in-depth discussion on your interest in converting. After getting to know you more, they’ll likely have a better answer on whether converting because of Lilith is appropriate or not
At the end of the day, I cannot tell you whether conversion is right for you. What I can say is that it’s a serious decision that takes a lot of time and hard work. Converting to Judaism is not something a rabbi will let you do unless they’re certain you are ready for all that entails
@ folks in the notes, if you intend to respond to anon’s message, please be kind and assume they’re asking in good faith <3
