Copia has become my coping mechanism of late. And as I told my beautiful Ghestie, that's why that's his name.

I'm sort of sitting back suddenly and thinking about just how disassociative and floaty and genuinely mentally unwell Copia was in RHRN and how he's always been portrayed as just a little ditzy and forgetful and thinking about my own experiences with those kinds of symptoms and how the majority of my childhood is a big, generic blur of mostly repressed memories...

What if that's part of the reason Copia doesn't really remember his twin at all? He may simply not remember most of his childhood at all, occasional blurry memories, but he's never been sure if was actually a friend or a sibling or an imaginary friend and he simply knew never anyone who was willing to give him a straight answer.

And over time, he just shrugs off the memories as wishful thinking because it's easier to just gaslight yourself then wonder why you keep remembering things that imply a lot of messed up things about the people who raised you.

Ok—theory # 3,972 as to the new upcoming Ghost lore!

Copia does not have a twin at all. Just as the ghosts of his mother and father and the child- twins are a figment of his fevered imagination, so is this fraternal twin of his. As a matter of fact, the twin is a manifestation of Copia himself. I don’t know what the current terminology is, so forgive me if I get this wrong, but it used to be called ‘dissociative identity disorder.’ What if that is what is going to happen? It’s still Copia, but it’s not Copia. It is another identity in his system.

Copia spent a lot of time alone growing up and had no father figure to speak of. His brothers didn’t know about him yet nor did his actual father who wouldn’t have been that big a help anyway.

Copia found his father figures and his role models in movies and tv. He saw the style and sophistication of Vincent Price and the way Christopher Lee held himself like royalty and could work a cape like it was a set of wings.

He saw the way David Bowie could command a room and be a King in lace and velvet.

He saw Peter Sellers win the hearts of all the ladies by being funny and charming. Maybe a little clutzy was okay.

It built a foundation for him to work on over the years but he still always felt like that little boy that was made fun of for being awkward, for being different, and he never let go of the things that brought him comfort…the video games, his favorite juice box, and the movies.

When he stepped on stage for the first time he remembered all they taught him. And while he was in front of that audience he hoped he made them proud.
