otherlink - is mostly voluntary (sometimes involuntary) called a linktype is to identify as an animal, mystical being or fictional charater for various reasons

copinglink - can be voluntary or involuntary is a linktype to cope with things like mental health ect

supportlink - similar to coping formed to help traits or behaviours

paroulink - formed as a coping mechanism as a disconnect from humanity

funlink - is a voluntary linktype and is chosen for fun

aeslink - similar to funlink but for aesthetic reasons

fictionlink - otherlinks for fictional characters

otherfix - a hyperfixation becoming a linktype

otherspin - a hyperfixation becoming a linktypw

dropping a linktype

It is possible to drop a linktype if one does not need or want it anymore. There are a few reasons an otherlinker might drop a linktype, from it causing harm to personal preference. The process itself can range from easy affirmations to complex procedures.

First time doing IDs for flags so Idk if I’ll do it wrong

Definition:

Ockin is when your kintype is an oc. Oc can stand for Original Character, Original Creature, Original Concept, Original Classification, Original Component, etc. It is not limited to original character in this context. This is not a choice, but rather it is either developed or you’re born with it. Ockin falls under fictionkin and can be called such. 

Differently but similar, oclink is the same but is a choice. Oclink falls under fictionlink.

I’m unsure where the idea of the black circle and white open semicircle came from, but my own interpretation is that the black circle is an “o” and the white is a “c”, representing the word “oc”

Fiction-Based Nichelink: a nichelink relationship dynamic that is defined as being like a specific kind of relationship from fiction.

this summary blurb sucks. feel free to help me rewrite it.

this flag serves as a general flag for any nichelink that's directly based on a relationship dynamic from fiction. you could also use it if you prioritize/only want to be in/are only in a Fiction-Based Nichelink.

coining nichelinks based on fiction:

i don't think fiction-based terms fit nichelink unless what you're wanting is a specific relationship invented in that media. in most cases i can imagine, i think it would be better to just coin a general term for the dynamic two characters have. like instead of coining a "(teacher character) + (student character)" it makes more sense to coin/use a general Teacher+Student nichelink. i don't want nichelinks to just be "i want a relationship like (canon couple)", my aim has always been to cover... niche relationship dynamics.

examples i can think of for "only exists in that media" being: Kid+Patron Troll (Homestuck, coined here), Dragon+Rider (HTTYD), Watcher+Slayer (Buffy the vampire slayer), Pokemon+Trainer (Pokemon).
