dare I say this patch is better than the entire penacony arc, for me at least. idk, it feels less dialogue-heavy than penacony. the characters are still using more words than they need to, but not to the point where i question if their throat is getting dry. except aglaea, I think 😭 but i think that part was intentional lmao. all in all, definitely left an impression, but a foreboding one.

trans person who lives somewhere where you can get a hrt prescription in under a month through a walk-in clinic: the biggest issue facing trans people today is this take i saw from a 20 y/o on twitter

#um.txt #sorry. getting extremely tired of trans twitter thinking of blocking all of them so they don't show up on my fyp #or deleting twitter. maybe.#so many takes on there about transition etc dont factor in the fact that some people like. cant. lol.#it took me 4+ years between coming out and getting hrt and i did EVERYTHING 'right' socially transitioned immediately #got on a waiting list. changed my name everywhere i could. and even after i got the prescription it took a year #of fighting with my gp to be allowed to actually order + administer the t. i still fight with my gp about it and am #currently fighting not to be on an extra low dose that they put me on a year ago bc they didnt understand trans hormones!#😒 but yeah people who want to transition but havent are cowards who cant kill the cop in their brain and go order dubious t from #bodybuilders online lol <- actual thing i have seen said multiple times

part of me still wonders how much the "trans men/mascs are bad" shit is bc of people believing my abusers version of me and then acting like thats all trans men/mascs and instead of ever actually confront me about any of the shit they accuse me of to see my side first of all which I think is important in these situations personally but also they dont want to know my side because I might prove them wrong and they might have to actually back off and then they wouldn't be able to have a scapegoat group of people of the week to hate anymore

How do you think your version of the character would react to meeting their canon-self?

[ohohooo He'd be embarrassed! ^^;

The way I see it, Hetalia is a comedy that exaggerates and goes overboard, with a few moments of more lowkey, down-to-earth emotions mixed in. I reverse that, trying to be realistic most of the time, but amping it up on occasion for comedic effect.

That being said, I try to base him off canon! Canon is where I fell in love with these characters, and there are so many oft-overlooked details in the writing that hint to deeper characterization. I like canon a lot except English dub. fuck english dub... I tweak pieces based on history/culture, but overall, he is the slightly more realistic version of a caricature in so much as building a train from trial and error in only a week can be realistic, bc I refuse to let that go. gimme my improbable ultra-genius.

So, uh... meeting his canon-self would feel like getting called out. It's like seeing a parody of yourself in a skit. It's all of his traits, but exaggerated or played for comedy. It's more him than he is. It'd make him second-guess himself because it clearly is him, but also too much, so is he too much?

#I try to keep to canon aside from the “constantly panicky about Ivan” part for. uh. obvious reasons. 😒cmon. no. I make that general anxiety #Fandom calls him a coward but he's never shown to be? It's just that one thing? Otherwise he seems more cautious or pliant.#which is very different from cowardly. Not having the energy or confidence to argue with people is very different from being a coward.#also he's shown to be able to pump himself up when needed. Acting IN DIRECT SPITE of one's fear is the opposite of cowardice
