Like partially it's because of the word 'subterranean' since Bowie's track Subterraneans from Low was initially written when he tried to do the soundtrack for tmwfte and other than that it's just the feeling of the song ig? I really didn't know which direction to take young Stolas. we don't have a lot of info so it could really go a lot of ways. In 'You Will Be Okay' Stolas says "I used to think that I was bold" so 🤷‍♀️

I also didn't know what kind of outfit to put him in. Adult Stolas tbh has no sense of fashion. Around the house he wears nothing but a ratty robe that doesn't fit him anymore and when he does wear casual clothes, he just wears a t-shirt.

I like the idea that growing up, he was really restricted in what he was allowed to wear and didn't have the freedom to explore his fashion, so as an adult, no one can tell him what to do anymore so he just wears trash.

Lunarpunk is such a good aesthetic for both Stolas and Octavia, but Stolas is nowhere near fashionable enough for that. So for teen!stolas, I decided to take inspiration from Dark Academia fashion. Dark Academia I thought was a really good fit because it shows off his nerdy side, but also it evokes school imagery. So I wanted to design an outfit reminiscent of a school uniform, which is both boyish/youthful, and confining. It reads that even at home, he has these restrictions and rules to follow. The star pattern is obviously referential to Octavia.

Honestly I would assume that Sylus is fully enjoying this. Sylus would probably want her to sing for him more often too after this because he adores everything about her and the comfort he feels simply existing beside her.

hi i’m not much of one for sending stuff in but i’ve had an idea in my brain ab a poly yingxing x reader x dan fang where reader is short life who was also an artisan like Yingxing as well and dies after Yingxing and Dan Feng both banished and is reincarnated wayyyyy later but unlike dan heng, they accept themselves as both being themselves and also the person they once were, having memories of the past, dreaming of them both. they meet Dan Heng on the Express but Dan Heng makes it clear he has no interest in being close to them, wanting to separate himself from his past life (he does he’s just emotionally constipated).

So they respect his decision. but later they meet Blade by chance and Blade is more than accepting (in his own way, he’s also a constipated weirdo as well, and he’s a little coo coo for coco puffs), and after some time and lots of thinking they end up leaving the express and joining the stelleron hunters to help Blade meet a permanent end because they blame themselves for not stopping Dan Feng and YingXing for their stupid ass decisions.

I never really considered a reader who died after they committed their sin 🤔 hmmm. Idk maybe bc I think Dan Feng and Yingxing would never abandon their spouse? I cant really comprehend them willingly abandoning their beloved spouse? Your ideas sounds really good but that part really made me think ngl. I think the only way for reader to die after they were exiled is if that reader was brought back to life bc of their actions but died again due to either many factors such as other wars or old age.

As for the reincarnated part, yeah sounds legit tbh. Dan Heng being emotionally constipated and rejecting reader as a way to reject his past is very on brand of him. Even if he does ahve genuine feelings for reader, he thinks it's Dan Feng's lingering love for his spouse.

Blade being a lot more accepting is also very on brand of him if u look past his mara stricken rages. Bladie is pretty chill but at the same time is a weirdo. Alexa play I'm a creep by radiohead. Blade thinks hes being normal but is very obviously not lmao. He probs no longer want to be called Yingxing but just as Blade or Ren.

TADC EP 5 SPOILER and discussion 😟

This probably isn’t a hot take and I don’t mean this in a offensive tone but I’m kind of sick of people thinking Ragatha’s “mean” or that Jax’s attitude towards her is valid. It absolutely is not 🤓- and I of course love a playfully mean or sarcastic character sometimes but there’s being playful mean where it’s clear to everyone you’re just joking and everyone’s laughing and then there’s bullying and tormenting. If the person you’re “playing with” with isn’t laughing or looks hurt- stop. And Jax treated Ragatha terribly- especially this episode. I get for some how being overly kindness can be seen “untrustworthy”(I personally think it depends and vibes and circumstances matter as well. But in general someone being incredibly nice or even putting your feelings first isn’t usually to get stuff from you- but again, it depends on each situation and person 🙂‍↕️) but that’s HIS problem, not hers and do I think some of her kindness is from her trying not to be like her mom? Yes but I think it’s also genuinely who she is and she wants to be someone people can love and think of as kind someone who can make people feel better, but I will say she needs to be more honest with both herself and everyone else- the problem is that it’s starting to isolate herself and sacrifice her own feelings for others. Jax deserved to get yelled at and more out tbh😐 and that’s why it annoyed me so badly when Pomni was like “okay let’s calm down 😰” to ragatha- GIRL, NO! 😤She didn’t say anything when it came to Jax bullying eveyone else- including herself(except her calling him an a-h*le) but now that y’all “bonded” Ragatha yelling at him is too much? Okay girl 😒 i get it wasn’t the best time- but it’s not like the place they were at was even real or public so let her have five minutes PLEASE 😫!!! And literally I wanted to wipe that smirk off his face- I’m not even kidding 😊 I understand it can be hard for Jax to trust ragatha because for him he sees it as her being fake kind so she can get something in return, but despite that do we all really think that warranted his behavior? How would we all feel if we had very traumatic family issues that made us force oursleves to be perfect all the time and be scared of how people think of us and someone comes along, prays on that and pushes our buttons and makes us try to be like them so they can get the satisfaction and ability to say “oh, so you’re not so kind after all 😋” 🤨

I like Jax when he’s being nice and real- and I’m rooting for him to be a truly good guy and turn his life around before he’s fully isolated but he literally needs to get a grip 😒 and Ragatha deserves to give him a good 👊(and so do I 🙂‍↕️mhm) and I bet he wouldn’t like that too much 😊

And when he got the maid dress(first of all he looked great 👍) i get he was embarrassed but it was funny and satisfying 😌 and when Jax was freaking out I was like “oh what’s wrong? 🥹 oh you’re upset? I thought being mean was funny! 😄 HAHA 🫵LOSER!! THAT’S WHAT YOU GET!” But genuinely he looked so cute in it and he should wear dresses in the future😊(again- I’m not saying that in a weird way, okay! 👍)

Maybe it’s the nostalgia but- Does anyone else miss it when the characters in Life Is Strange were just teenagers?

For me personally, when the characters are all adults (Like older adults I mean) it just sorta loses a lot of the vibe that made the previous games special.

Personally, I don't think it's the adulthood aspects that make True Colors and Double Exposure lose the vibes a lot of the previous games have. I think it's just that TC and DE feel more cooperate all around.

I like True Colors, but it does feels like a very "cooperate" game in every aspect and I personally think that's part of the reason the vibes are different. Like...for example, LIS 1 was given a fantastic niche indie soundtrack that really makes the world feel alive. True Colors was given songs that you would expect to hear on a top ten radio station and I'm not letting anyone forget that they tried to make Alex's song "Creep" by Radiohead.

I think DE is the same in that regard. It feels like Marvel studios came in at some point to partner with Decknine...and I do mean that in the worst ways.

TBH I don't think the off vibes are caused by Alex and DE Max being older as much as I think they're caused by Alex and DE Max being older and yet their stories being watered down in a way that isn't true for the teenaged protagonists. Like...I just can't imagine TC or DE having a scene where a racist kidnap's a 16 year and then is later confirmed in a newspaper to be viewed as the victim of the situation, and I think that's the point really. Both TC and DE felt like they were made for "mainstream" appeal, while LIS, LIS 2, and BTS feel like they were made for people who really like indie music and staring at their wall at 3AM.

The vibes are very different all around, and personally I don't think that's really the fault of DE Max and Alex's age. I actually a LIS story with an adult protagonist could be really good if they'd did more with it.

1. marmur - taco tak bardzo zrozumiał assignment jeśli chodzi o opening track w marmurze 🫡🫡🫡 jakby on robi taka zajebista robotę na setup całego albumu. mamy mid 20s crisis. mamy dziwnego pasażera. mamy oczywiście tytułowy hotel marmur. i do tego zajebisty bit oczywiście. lubię to jaki jednostajny jest rytm w tym utworze bo przez to jest bardzo relaksujący. must have do przesłuchania jak jadę gdzieś dłużej pociągiem. wgl to jest jeden z tych utworów który mam praktycznie całkowicie wyklepany na pamięć i (embarassing confession time) recytuje czasem sb tekst w głowie jak jestem z jakiegoś powodu mocno roztrzęsiona i potrzebuje wyciszyć mój mozg trochę. jakby katolicy mają rację jednak posiadanie formułki do recytowania w sytuacjach kryzysowych pomaga. skull emoji.

anyway, i aim to please, so here are a few that i do not consider spoilers (sorry, i really want to keep some stuff close to my chest for now, as you may have noticed). they're more trivia than headcanons but hey we ball:

tyler stone died of lung cancer in 2001 or something (slowly is set in 2018). fuck that guy he sucks. if you don't know who he is you should read miguel's original comic run, they go really hard. or you could read the wiki i guess but it's less fun

technically a headcanon--i think?--for canon, but miguel's daughter is called gabriella. i'm strangely really attached to her (fanon) name, i hope it's either never said out loud if it's something else or that it's confirmed in canon. that'd be fun

gonzalo and miles' dynamic is heavily based off me and my sister's dynamic, especially when we were both younger and dumb tweens. gonzalo also isn't really based all too closely on miles g. aka 42, he's more like... if canon miles were to split into two people and you put more of the anger into one and more of the longing into the other, you'd end up with slowly's gonzalo and miles

if this were a different story, aaron, jeff and miguel would be in a complicated love triangle tbh. too bad miguel's a creep and a weirdo (radiohead intensifies)

idr if it's been confirmed in-fic but miguel is one of the richest men in the united states, he just kinds of larps as a peasant (comfortable middle class bachelor if we're gonna be accurate. but i digress) because it feeds his whole despair schtick. the only reason he hasn't given miles actual gold-threaded clothing yet is because miles has made it quite clear so far he's uncomfortable with being sugar babied in any capacity

Me from the future after writing this whole thing: What a fun and innocuous prompt! I’m sure this will have a short and succinct answer that stays relevant to this simple yet thoughtful topic the whole time!

Ok I actually really struggled with this one! I think it’s because I rely a lot on lyrics when I make playlists, but an afterparty isn’t really the time or place for deeply introspective and relevant lyrics – it’s for CERTIFIED BANGERS ONLY. However this sent me down a super interesting rabbit hole because, out of curiosity and for inspiration (and because I’ve been obsessively watching Todd in the Shadows for months now), I started looking at the UK Singles Charts in 1994. And oh my god what an insane history lesson, because so many of these songs are honestly just bewildering. Why the fuck was Bat Out of Hell charting in 1994? Actually there’s kind of a lot of Meat Loaf on here for some reason? And then there are basically a million awful downtempo power ballads, especially from washed up rock stars like Bon Jovi and Bryan Adams... Some smoooooth synthy boy band picks from Boyzone, East 17, and Take That… Some truly insane dance songs that made me go, oh right, this is the Blue (Da Ba Dee) era (special shoutout to “Doop - dooper than doop” by Doop, which made me feel like my brain was melting right out of my skull)... There was also a decent amount of reggae, which was nearly the only tolerable stuff on the charts (Chaka Demus & Pliers’s “Twist and Shout” is a fabulous summer jam, and honorable mention to that version of “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” with a reggae beat behind it, which honestly kind of slaps. And of course there was some Britpop (tbh was expecting more of it), especially Oasis because this was their debut year

There are also some things that charted that are just completely fucking insane tho. “I Like to Move It” charted? “Cotton Eye Joe”? “Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers”? “Come On You Reds,” made famous by Manchester United? The B-52s’s “Meet The Flintstones”....? And perhaps most mind-boggling, the bizarre novelty children’s song “Mr Blobby” (?????), which I guess was like, the “Baby Shark” of 1994? Anyway I now believe Dudley sang this nonstop all summer to drive Harry insane (with Aunt Petunia being like, “Oh, what a beautiful voice you have, Duddykins! I’m sure we’ll see you on Top of the Pops someday!” and Harry’s like. Kill me).

Oh right I was supposed to make a playlist. Well I did do that. And Meat Loaf is indeed on it, and I wouldn’t have put him on here if I hadn’t listened to every top ten song on the 1994 Singles Chart, so I guess I can say my research was extremely relevant and also very much worth it

Let’s Dance - David Bowie: banger of all time. I don’t care that it’s from the 80s it’s a classic

Blur - Girls & Boys: shockingly this iconic song did not chart (only "Parklife" did), but we love a danceable Britpop moment

Radiohead - Creep: I fully believe this happened. Like Harry gets this song. Partly because he’s literally like fourteen this is such a song for being fourteen

The London Suede - So Young: I feel like this song has a sort of whimsical dreaminess that makes it really quite magical. Maybe it’s just the “let’s chase the dragon” part

EMF - Unbelievable: again that Britpop/dance fusion is like 1000% the vibe here

ELO - Livin’ Thing: it’s like maaaagic :-)

Primal Scream - Rocks: I’m always stunned by the variety in Primal Scream’s music… They were basically the Britpop/dance blueprint, but before that they were a lovely little indie jangle pop band, and then this song is like, a stomp clap rock song (and it charted)

Mannfred Mann’s Earth Band - Blinded By The Light: If we’re putting Meat Loaf on here then this is going on here too. This is like one of The Most Gryffindor Songs Ever to me

Oasis - Whatever: I felt obligated to put at least one Oasis song on here because it was the year of Definitely Maybe and out of the three that charted I went with this one. Love the strings and the sheer bigness of it, like it really just bulldozes over you for six minutes straight. Also I could see Liam and Noel being problematic Gryffindors

Meat Loaf - I’d Do Anything For Love (But I Won’t Do That): The moment we’ve all been waiting for. This song was in the top ten for 14 WEEKS (!) and peaked at NUMBER FUCKING 1! But if you can buy into the bombast (the very thing that I think makes it Gryffindor to me), it kinda goes absolutely crazy.

Anyway sorry this devolved into insanity but I hope you enjoy this playlist and also that you annoy everyone in your life with Mr. Blobby. Also idk why I didn't think of it for the other asks but I'm going to tag you lol @remus-poopin
