Collecting And Utilizing Magick Charms
Tumblr media
My personal charm collection.
Magick charms are small, enchanted objects used for protection, luck, attraction, and spiritual power. Witches, shamans, and mystics have used charms for centuries to enhance spells, manifest intentions, and guard against negative forces. This comprehensive guide will help you collect, store, and use charms effectively in your witchcraft.
What is a Magick Charm?
A magick charm is any object infused with energy or intention to create a desired effect. Unlike talismans (which attract energy) or amulets (which repel energy), charms can do both, depending on their purpose.
Uses of Magick Charms in Witchcraft:
• Protection – Shields against negative energy, hexes, and harm.
• Luck & Prosperity – Draws fortune, money, and success.
• Love & Attraction – Enhances self-love, relationships, and passion.
• Healing & Wellness – Promotes emotional, physical, and spiritual health.
• Psychic Abilities & Divination – Strengthens intuition, dreamwork, and spirit communication.
• Manifestation & Goal Achievement – Focuses energy on specific desires.
Collecting Magick Charms
Magick charms can be found, crafted, or gifted. The key is choosing objects that resonate with your energy and intention.
Where to Find Charms:
• Nature – Stones, feathers, shells, acorns, bones, dried herbs.
• Thrift Shops & Antique Stores – Old jewelry, keys, trinkets, coins.
• Personal Objects – Lockets, rings, buttons, meaningful tokens.
• Handmade Charms – Sigil-carved wood, cloth pouches filled with herbs, inscribed coins.
• Cultural or Spiritual Items – Religious symbols, runes, lucky talismans.

Have you ever made a Loki godspouse bind rune before? If you haven't, that would be my request! 😊
I've done custom bindrunes for godspouses to represent their unique relationship with a deity~
This is the most recent one, it's a family fishing trip:
Tumblr media
Link to its post.
I also have a way of writing Loki's name that has a Viking Age style key in it for a pun, but people have found it helpful for household stuff:
Tumblr media
I'll add it to the list!

I will be setting up an Etsy for bindrunes, custom boots, and other crafts sometime this week so be on look out for the link. And if you want runes for something specific that I don't already have made by then, lmk before Wednesdays of that week. Because that's when the bindrunes I make are most potent.

Feel free to use any of these in their entirety or as jumping off points, but be aware that self-created bindrunes work best!
Depending if your practice is more seidr- or galdr-related, you may interact with the runes however works best. I recommend speaking/chanting the individual runes used while you create and meditate on the bindrune design and/or ritual. For example, if your bindrune uses Othala and Ansuz, chant "Othala, Ansuz" in a rythm that feels natural and powerful. Repeat as many times, however loudly, as feels right.
I've included some very abbreviated explanations behind each design, but please ask if you'd like me to elaborate anything.
1. Ward Off Nicotine Cravings
This rune is comprised of the Elder Futhark runes that spell Odin's name (in the way I spell it): Othala, Dagaz, Isa, and Naudhiz; as well as a symbol I made through using a custom Sator Square. This bindrune acts as a "scarecrow" to ward off cravings for nicotine. I made this around September 2020 and have been nicotine-free since!
2. Justice and Healing
I made this a week after the 1/6/2021 attack in DC. My goal is to allow healing and flow in multiple directions, while also using the ends of the bindrune to act as a sort of shovel/rake to keep the harm at bay or channel the hurt into constructive pathways. This rune is made of the Elder Futhark runes: Mannaz, Perthro, and Raidho. This bindrune is three-dimensional, like a 3D snowflake. Imagine it rotating in 360 degrees for full effect.
3. Calm
This rune is comprised of the Elder Futhark runes that spell the English word "calm:" Kenaz, Ansuz, Isa, and Mannaz; as well as a symbol I made through using a custom Sator Square. This bindrune acts as a filter for anxiety, allowing more breathing room/almost like an air-purifier for your thoughts. This bindrune is three-dimensional, like a 3D snowflake. Imagine it rotating in 360 degrees for full effect.
4. Ancestral Bridge
I made this to help me tap into the flow between Midgard and other, spiritual realms. A bridge between the Nine Realms, if you like, or a way to tap into communication with your deceased loved ones. This bindrune is comprised of the Elder Futhark runes: Eihwaz, Othala, and Gebo.
