Safiye lived in Connecticut all of her life, which is where she met Daniel after she turned 28.

Daniel was the owner of the local bookstore who was an older vampire who attempted to help Safiye with her new life as a vampire, much to her sister Kiraz's dismay at first.

Saf struggled with feeding and ended up being a ripper, which they spent years working on feeding only for it to fail at their attempts.

Kiraz had been helping Safiye with her ripping before he came along, and when he joined, the three of them became a sort of group before the hunters attacked.

Daniel's store was attacked on Valentine's Day 2023, while Daniel and Safiye were inside; he sent her out the back to protect her and fought off the hunters alone.

When Safiye came back all that was there was a letter for her that told her about Lunar Cove. Which she went to instantly and has been living here for over a year.

Daniel could be doing whatever you want in the mean time, but he finally is now coming to Lunar Cove.

In an effort to get the whole pack together for one last end-of-summer hurrah before they all head back to college, Lydia invites everyone to come stay at her beach house for a weekend getaway. And because everyone else is all coupled up — Scott and Allison with Lydia and Jackson in one car, Erica and Boyd with Isaac and Danny in another — Stiles and Derek get stuck together in the carpool. And since Derek absolutely refuses to subject himself to Stiles's Jeep, convinced the "absolute deathtrap" won't survive the trip, they have no choice but to take the Camaro.

Which is how the two of them end up squished into the cozy confines of the cab, Derek so distracted by the thought of Stiles shirtless, sunkissed, and soaked in saltwater that he nearly crashes every time Stiles so much as looks in his direction, while Stiles runs on a 50/50 blend of too many espresso shots and nervous energy as he fidgets in the passenger seat and drums out a steady beat against the dashboard, lamenting the fact that he'd left all of his mixed CDs in the Jeep, because what he desperately wants right now is some classic 90's summer pop to set the mood.

"Why don't you just play something from your phone?" Derek suggests with an air of mild impatience. "This car's got bluetooth. I'm sure I can stomach your terrible taste in music for—" he glances down at his phone to check the map, and huffs out a groan. "Ugh, we've still got another two and a half hours until we get there."

"Oh, ha-ha," Stiles retorts, rolling his eyes. "Can't believe I'm stuck in a car with a guy who thinks *NSYNC was just okay."

"You're never going to let that go, are you?" Derek sighs. "I told you, I just think Backstreet Boys was better, that's all."

"Heathen."

"I mean, come on, you can't top Everybody."

"Oh, but I can try," Stiles smirks, arching his eyebrows suggestively. 

"Stiles," Derek says his name like it's a curse. 

And really, Derek should have known that Stiles would find a way to make that sound dirty.

"No, you're right. I'm probably more of a bottom," he adds with a mock-thoughtful tap against his chin, delighting in the delicate blush that curls its way across Derek's cheekbones. 

He grips the steering wheel until his knuckles turn white and grumbles, "Oh my god, will you just connect your phone and pick a damn song already?"

"I would, but my piece of shit phone deleted all of my playlists, and I have like, no service out here."

Stiles sighs, turning his attention to the rolling landscape framed in the passenger's side window — mountains towering toward cloudy skies whipping past them in a blur of green and blue, summer breeze perfumed with the scent of orange and jasmine blossoms as they wind their way through a sea of citrus groves — and contents himself with the fact that at least the view, both inside and outside of the Camaro, is breathtaking.

A solid weight lands in his lap, and Stiles glances down in time to see Derek offering him his phone. Stiles blinks up at him, confused.

"You can use mine," he says.

"You have playlists?"

"I have youtube."

Stiles nods and gives him an appreciative smile, a warm glow settling in the center of his chest as he cradles Derek's phone in his hands like it's a precious thing. They've known each other for years now, but every subtle gesture of trust still takes him by surprise sometimes.

Stiles opens the app, scrolling through his mental rolodex to figure out which upbeat boy band classic he should start with first (read: which one he thinks he could badger Derek into duetting with him) when he accidentally clicks on something in Derek's browser history, and—

"What is this?" Stiles asks as a deep, rumbling voice with a thick accent hums through the speakers.

"It's a sea shanty," Derek says with a casual shrug.

Stiles gapes at him. 

"You. Derek Hale. Listen to sea shanties," he says.

Derek shrugs again. "I like it when they harmonize."

Stiles practically vibrates with glee.

"This is awesome. You just keep getting more and more interesting the more layers I unravel."

Derek pretends to scoff and roll his eyes, but Stiles can tell by the subtle twitch of his lips that he's secretly pleased.

As for Stiles, he's smiling so hard his face hurts. He can't help it. He doesn't even know why this is so amusing to him. Before he knows it, he's concocting a whole Derek The Sailor fantasy in his head, crisp white form-fitting uniform drenched in a crash of ocean waves, the chiseled muscles of his arms flexing as he weighs anchor and hoists the sails, sun glistening off the beads of sweat clinging to his bare chest, and— oh, this slipped into dangerous territory real fast. Oh god, oh fuck, he can't let Derek know he's having secret seafaring fantasies about him while he's literally sitting right next to him, close enough for Derek to hear the sudden spike in his heartbeat. Shit, he's in trouble. Quick, think of something non-sexual—

"I'm sorry, did he just say 'blow me'?" Stiles blurts out around a pearl-clutching gasp.

Derek heaves a long-suffering sigh.

"He says 'blow, comma, me bully boys, blow'," Derek corrects him. "It's a seafaring term."

Stiles stifles a laugh, because he's still a sarcastic asshole with the mentality of a twelve year old. Curiosity piqued, he pulls up google and looks up the rest of the lyrics. 

A sharp burst of laughter nearly makes Derek swerve into the minivan in the lane next to them, and there he goes again, barking Stiles's name like it's the king of swear words, his entire face just one big frown.

"You do know the song's about battling a whale and that 'tonguing' means butchering, right?" Derek asks, arching an eyebrow.

Stiles pales.

"Oh god. Okay, then I definitely do not want to experience that kind of tonguing," Stiles amends with a grimace and a sharp shake of his head.

"Granted," he adds with a melodramatic sigh. "After all the shit we've been through over the years, that's probably the only kind of 'tonguing' I'm ever going to get, so…"

There's silence for a moment, and then Derek hums thoughtfully and says, "I'll see what I can do to remedy that," a roguish smile curling across his lips as he arches his eyebrows suggestively, and Stiles chokes on air.

They make a quick pit stop at the next exit to stock up on snacks, and absolutely do not spend a full twenty minutes making out in the back seat.

(Okay, fine. An hour.)

Sunset finds the two of them beating a steady rhythm against the dashboard and the steering wheel, twin beatific grins plastered across their ruddy faces, singing at the top of their lungs with the stereo cranked to the max, Stiles taking the melody, Derek the harmony.

Over the course of the next couple of days, Lydia comes to regret keeping her liquor cabinets well-stocked with a variety of rum, and asking if anyone wants sugar in their tea gets taboo'd faster than you-know-who in Deathly Hallows, because any time any one of them even so much as hums a single bar, the whole thing starts right back up again with an obnoxiously giddy Stiles and Derek chanting at the top of their lungs with no regard for the time of night, before collapsing against each other in a fit of giggles and stolen kisses, until the rest of the pack is so fed up with their shit, they're threatening to chuck them both into the sea and make it look like a whaling accident.

Very interesting the connections that Ketu and Jupiter has with Frankenstein's monsters.

In the upcoming film "Bride" Jessie Buckley will play the Bride of Frankenstein and Christian Bale will play Frankenstein's monster.

Both are Ketuvian. She's Mula Sun, and he is Ashwini Moon. The film is made by Maggie Gyllenhaal who is a Vishakha Sun.

Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller in (National Theatre Live 2011) "Frankenstein" interchangeably play the Creature (Frankenstein's monster) and Victor Frankenstein. Benedict Cumberbatch is an Punarvasu Sun, Ashwini Moon and Jonny Lee Miller is a Vishakha Sun.

The play was literally directed by Ashwini Moon Danny Boyle.

In the film "Lisa Frankenstein", Magha Ascendant Cole Sprouse plays a corpse from the Victorian-era who was resurrected to life (named Creature, commonly being Frankenstein's monster), and his love interest is played by Shatabhisha Moon Kathryn Newton as Lisa Frankenstein. The film is directed by Punarvasu Moon Zelda Williams.

Cole Sprouse's character reminds me of Emily the Corpse Bride from the film "Corpse Bride", voiced by Magha Moon Helena Bonham Carter and the movie being made by Magha Sun Tim Burton.

What I found so interesting was how the internet is intuitively sensitive to Ketu energies as they have connected Laura Harrier to this character in online fan-casting. Laura Harrier is literally an Ashwini Moon.

In the film "Van Helsing" Frankenstein's monster is now played by a Jupiterian instead of a Ketuvian. Purva Bhadrapada Sun Shuler Hensley.

Purva Bhadrapada Moon Daniel Radcliffe, though he plays Igor, Frankenstein's sickly hunchback assistant, in the film "Victor Frankenstein". And in this film it is Ashwini Sun James McAvoy who played Victor Frankenstein.

And Tim Burton's "Frankenweenie" animation movie, it is Mula Moon Charlie Tahan who voices young Victor Frankenstein who resurrects his dog.

Purva Bhadrapada Moon Jacob Elordi will be playing Frankenstein in Guillermo Del Toro's retelling of the story, ultimately replacing Purva Bhadrapada Ascendant Andrew Garfield who was up for the role. AND Purva Bhadrapada Sun Oscar Isaac will be playing Victor Frankenstein.

A couple of years ago, I remember Scarlett Johansson was in talks for a "Bride of Frankenstein" movie, and this was never heard of again. I doubt the project has been finalized or proceeded, considering the fact that it's been four years now. But still noteworthy as she is Vishakha Moon so perfectly fits this post.

Vishakha Sun Emma Stone stars in the film "Poor Things", based on a book with the same name which is a clever feminist retelling of Mary Shelley's known work.

A film quite aligned with "Poor Things" is actually "Frankenhooker", being that the 'Creature' is a victimized female, starring Punarvasu Sun Patty Mullen who plays a girlfriend accidentally killed by her scientist boyfriend and is resurrected by him with the use of her head and separate body parts of deceased prostitutes.

This film was literally directed by Magha Sun and Purva Bhadrapada Moon Frank Henenlotter.

Mary Shelley, the creator of the tale of Frankenstein, was a Mula Moon and Ardra Ascendant, a gothic novelist whose work is considered one of the earliest work of science fiction 🖤

How I feel about this character: Normal! Very normal! Not like a freak who's been obsessed with him for years at all!!

I've loved Scott ever since I started watching Teen Wolf back in the early 2010s, but it was when I came back to finish it in 2020 and saw Scott get thrown to the ground after he'd just been murdered and the show tried to tell me it didn't matter that I was like, "Oh, haha. I see. Time to get to work." I've been deep in Scott fandom ever since.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: My first ship for him was with Allison and they are still the peak. I adore their dynamic: how they drive each other's narratives, how they help each other understand themselves, how they make space for each other, how much their connection means to each of them, and how good their chemistry is. It is so good.

The OTP I've spent the most time writing for, though, is ofc Scott/Theo. I have it so bad for them. I adored their dark dynamic in s5 but what really broke me was both of them freezing when Scott walks into his living room and finds Theo there. The way they are so totally moved by each other! The way they're both thinking of the hug and the murder and can barely handle the fact of the other! Scream! And then the fact that the show made Theo so desperate for Scott's company while being too much of a coward to actually write Scott and Theo scenes together. I knew what I had to do.

But also, I have so many ships! I'm happy to ship him with Danny, Isaac, Kira, Malia, and Stiles. He has sooooo many good ships.

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Stiles, baby! I know I just said I shipped them romantically also but their friendship means the most to me. I love how much they define each other and whenever I write a different ship for each of them, it's also lowkey a Scott&Stiles fic because that's how important they are to each other. Stiles is there to make sure Scott can date Allison and Allison offers to let Stiles come on their second date. She gets it.

My unpopular opinion about this character: That he's amazing. The foolishness in this fandom is unreal.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon. Man, so much. To keep it to just one thing, I wish we had seen other characters learn about his murder. At all, ever.

Hey, what you think about Desmond in Teenwolf universe? Like him working there in bar and eventually help gang with supernatural problems(because well he can fight and doesn't want these teenagers die?)

Oh, man. I was into Teen Wolf years ago so let’s see what we can do with this one.

First of all, we’ll put Desmond in the gap between Season 1 and 2. Why?

Because he’s there to investigate the killings of Season 1. It’s a personal thing.

Well…

It’s connected to Ratonhnhaké:ton because his Bleed of Ratonhnhaké:ton makes him believe that there is something familiar with the way those people were killed by a ‘wild animal’.

He’s not sure if it’s related to a POE though but it’s worth investigating (we will also be moving the timeline of Teen Wolf so S1 happened in 2013 instead of 2011 and this is after Desmond saves the world from the Solar Flare)

The real reason why he’s there though is because he’s supposed to be hiding. After his attack on Abstergo’s Rome facility, Interpol has been on his tail so he needs to lay low for a bit.

We’re also placing him between S1 and S2 so there’s some time for him to integrate himself to the plot. Specifically, he’s working in the Jungle where the problematic teenagers would get themselves in trouble later when the hunt of the Kanima starts.

That’s also when he becomes entangled with the plot because he’s been researching about the ‘new’ killings happening all around Beacon Hills and, Jesus Christ on a pogo stick, there were a lot of reds calling themselves ‘hunters’.

Desmond has a feeling that something more was going on.

In this one, Desmond actually spots the teenagers as they enter Jungle because he’s been a bartender long enough to spot problems (and Jungle doesn’t want problem, especially since being a gay club means they’re not unused to some… annoying flies) so he pats the other person working the bar with him, which is a silent signal that he was going to switch to being the teenage bouncer and give their actual bouncer another scolding (seriously, he doesn’t care if sweet boy Danny is planning to graduate early or whatever, he’s still in highschool)

Then he feels it.

Something about these teenagers that alerts him. A ghost of a Bleed from Ratonhnhaké:ton…

And then the Kamina attacks and all hell breaks loose.

Unorganized Notes:

Would absolutely push himself into Derek’s little pack because he sees the cool front that Derek is showing and calls bullshit on it. He doesn’t know they’re werewolves yet but he knows something is up and Derek’s pack has information. Caring for the pack later on was not the plan.

He sees Erica, Boyd and Isaac as recruits in need of care. Derek is annoyed with him though because he keeps butting in to tell him to be nicer or to explain it more and- Desmond has no idea what a Stiles is but he’s probably being insulted, the asshole.

He does learn what a Stiles is because Stiles annoyed him by visiting the club repeatedly. The Drag Queens love him and has adopted him and has band together to stop Desmond from throwing his underage ass out.

Stiles is the one who spills the whole werewolf hunter thing because he thought Desmond’s strange mannerism (“It reminds me of my dad but like… more spec ops?” “You play too many video games, squirt.”) might mean he’s a hunter.

Oh and Stiles being in the club a lot? Yeah. Sheriff Stilinski gets into this whole mess because he’s sus of Desmond. It doesn’t help that Desmond has been teaching Stiles a few tips of how to fight (“Why… why do you know that you should kick off the tail lights of a car if you’re inside the trunk?” “My dad’s a cop, dude. I know how to shoot too. Wanna see?” “With your flailing limbs? Nah, I’m good”)

Desmond is an annoying older brother to both Derek and Stiles. The pack loves him for it.

Scott thinks he’s cool too but he’s a bit wary of him since he’s close to Derek. He’s also worried that he’s being used to pull Stiles to Derek’s pack.

But that’s not really Desmond’s problem at the moment because the Bleed of Ratonhnhaké:ton he’s been ‘feeling’?

That’s because Ratonhnhaké:ton has confronted werewolf hunters before. To be more exact, the Argents during his time in France. Arno Dorian is actually the one who got the wrath of the Argents but that extends to the Brotherhood in general.

The Argents are not Templars but they definitely don’t like the Brotherhood. And Gerard Argent? He has a feeling an Assassin is snooping around their hunting ground. It’s only a matter of time before he finds the rat.

OMGGGGGG Ok, so this might get kind of long because i just have soooo much to say hahah

Main background stuff:

His name is Isaac Magnus, he's gay and trans, and Jonah's younger brother. He's also an End and Web Avatar. He is sort of immortal, he doesn't age and cant die unless he is killed.

Very very close to Jonah growing up, despite Isaac being a girl (at the time), they spent a lot of time together. Isaac looked up to him, and would often follow him around like a lamb as a child. When they were teens, he would often try and copy Jonah’s interests. Jonah was quite protective of him, only person he really cared about. Jonah, in his growing concern about rituals and the fears, ends up giving him a necklace connected to the lonely that stops the entities from being able to see, find or affect them too much. Isaac ends up dying around 1752, when they were 19, due to a housefire. He ends up Becoming, and flee's the place as he doesn't want his family to know what he'd become. He stays with Simon Fairchild for a bit, before moving overseas to live with a few different avatars.

Powers:

Isaac’s powers are similar to the red string of fate soulmate thing. Each relationship has a different colour string, which Isaac can see. He can tell a lot about a relationship from the strings, the state of the relationship, how healthy they are, how strong ect. He does this by seeing how saturated the string look, the stronger the colour the stronger the relationship, the duller the weaker the relationship. Isaac is also able to mess with the strings and can affects peoples relationships through them and be able to kill people through the strings as well. Both indirectly and directly. Family- Blue Friends- Yellow Best/alt Friends- Green Enemies- Red Romantic- Pink

Main series:

He start working in the institute 3 years before Jon becomes Archivist. He works in the library, where he and Martin become fast friends. Both are moved down to the archives due to the fact that Jonah thinks they would be easy to manipulate if needed. [Jonah is unaware of Isaac being both an avatar and his brother, due to the necklace that Jonah gave him before he Became an Avatar.]

SEASON 1- He is constantly clashing with Jon, and spends most of his time planning how to annoy him with Tim. Isaac is closest out of all the archival crew with Tim. Tim see’s Danny in Isaac, and Isaac see’s younger Jonah in Tim. They often spend time messing about in the archives. But he also has good relationships with Martin, and will often time spend hours speaking to each other about books and poetry. And he and Sasha love to gossip together and will meetup after work for drinks every now and again. He’s the one to realise that Martin is trapped in his flat, and goes there to threaten Jane. Martin stays with him in his flat during this time, instead of the institute. During the attack he goes with Sasha to find Elias. When the wall of worms comes upon them, Elias has to drag Isaac out of the institute as he can see Sasha’s string snap and it causes him to start panicking.

SEASON 2- Starts out rough for him, as he very much despises Not!Sasha but Elias had assured him something will get done. (He's lying of course.) He and Not!Sasha don’t get along as Isaac is part Web, and Not!Sasha is annoyed by that. And isaac is pissed that it killed Sasha. Jon, in his growing paranoia starts to suspect that Isaac has something strange going on, and starts stalking him. Its Isaac who ends up telling Jon a little bit of information about the Entities, its not much but it helps pull Jon from the deep-end. Though the damage is already done, Tim is colder to Jon now and Martin is constantly worried about him.

SEASON 3- Whilst Jon is on the run, and Tim is avoiding everyone, and shit is just going down. Elias takes this time to start getting closer to Isaac. He invites him to a party in honour of Jonah, he gives Isaac books, and just slightly manipulates him. Though Jonah does find that he see’s Isaac almost like how he saw his ‘sister’. Isaac does a whole lot of research, before Jon gets back, about the Unknowing. When Jon gets back, he tells everyone what had happened with Not!Sasha. A while later when it comes out that Isaac is an avatar, immediately he looses most of his connections. For a bit when Tim learns that Isaac is an avatar and knew what had happened to Sasha, the two grow very very distant to each other, but Elias mentions something about Isaac wanting to tell the rest and him stopping it that Tim understands what has happened. Isaac stays with Martin and Melanie in the institute during the Unknowing.

SEASON 4- He takes time off when peter first takes over, the loss of Tim and Jon being in a coma, and Elias being in jail just being too much for him. He tries to keep in contact with Martin, but both are in a bad place. Isaac also just doesn't to do with Melanie and Basira unless necessary, both do not like him due to him being an avatar. Isaac is the only one to stick up for Jon after he takes Live Statements, saying that its no different to what Daisy used to do and no one is dying that way. The two form a sort of bond, and stay close at all times, and Isaac tells him who he really is and lets Jon feed on him when he needs too. During the last few episodes, Isaac doesn't know that Jon had gone down to the Panopticon at first and ends follows after him. He and Jonah have a fight, where it comes to light that Isaac is his sibling. They compromise, Isaac wont tell anyone where Jonah is, and Isaac can leave unhurt.

SEASON 5- He has a domain, Jon and Martin end up passing through and he is just so glad they are alright. He immediately rushes over to them and hugs them. He then agrees to come with them to London to stop Jonah after a lot of convincing.

You do not have to vibe with someone’s FC choice. You don’t have to follow them. You don’t even have to like it. But if you’re gonna act like someone committed fanon blasphemy for casting an actor that brings them joy, then maybe YOU are the problem. Not the casting. Not the muse. Not the person trying to create something that resonates with them. You. Are. The. Problem.

Because it’s not just about "accuracy." It’s about VIBES. It’s about connection. It’s about finding a face that reflects the way a muse feels, not how they were drawn in a storyboard in 2001.

Let people be fucking inspired.

Let people choose softness, queerness, darkness, uniqueness. Let people cast their comfort actors. Let people rewrite their own damn narratives with the muses that saved their lives.

If that makes you mad, scroll. If it makes you rage-post in your Discord server, touch grass. If it makes you block them? Great. Do it quietly. But stop making people feel bad for expressing themselves.

Because some of us? Some of us are tired. Some of us are barely hanging on. And some of us just want to write our weird little guys with the actors who make us feel like it’s okay to exist.

SPOILERS AHEAD FOR CHAPTER 38!

Zaida stood at the beginning of the track, squatting and lunging to stretch the muscles in her thighs as she waited for the rest of the cross country team to join the small group of them who were already ready to go for one of their first official training sessions.

“You never struck me as a track girl, Zaida.” Danny chuckled at her as he effortlessly jogged up to where she was now stretching out her calves.

“I’ve been going for jogs in the Preserve for months now. I thought if I join, I can do this instead of those.” She shrugged. Truthfully, she felt as though she needed the extra exercise, what with everything currently going on in Beacon Hills. If it ever came to it, she wanted to be able to run as far and as fast as needed. “Why’d you join?”

“Coach makes it mandatory for Lacrosse players - says he doesn’t want us getting fat in the off-season.” Danny shrugged.

“This school takes that game way too seriously,” She rolled her eyes.

“Really? I could have sworn I saw you getting pretty into it at the grand final.” Danny shot her a mischievous and suggestive smirk. She recalled how enthusiastically she’d been cheering Stiles on that night and a flush rose to her cheeks. Had everyone discovered her feelings for Stiles before she had?

“It was a tense game,” She shrugged, hoping she sounded casual instead of dismissive.

“Oh, there was tension, for sure.” The boy winked at her and she huffed at him. “Speaking of which, if you did want to grab a ride on that train, Stiles was just saying this morning how he’s looking to give it up.”

“I’m sorry, he said what?!” She blanched, her heart stopping in her chest as she spotted the boy joining the group, along with Scott and Isaac.

“He was borderline hysterical in the locker room, going on about how he thinks some guy got kidnapped because he was a virgin and that his ‘lack of sexual experience was now literally a threat to his life’.” Danny quoted the boy and Zaida slapped her palm over her burning face. He was talking about the human sacrifices. That boy needed to learn how to keep his volume down in public. Coach Finstock blew the starting whistle and Danny began jogging backwards. “Try to keep up if you can, Callis.”

“Nobody likes a show-off, Mahealani,” She started after him, her sneakers digging into the soft ground to propel her forward until she reached the hard dirt track that wound through the section of the Preserve that connected to the back of Beacon Hills High.

“But I make it look good!” The boy laughed, and he truly did. He was an Adonis amongst them, but it would do his ego no good to know that.

As she kept a steady pace a few feet behind Danny, Isaac bolted past her with inhumane speed. Not even a few seconds later, Scott was running after him calling the werewolf’s name in warning. It was all Zaida needed to propel herself forward towards the front of the group. Her lungs burned as she tried to keep her breathing stable. They both disappeared further up the track chasing after the new twins who were in first place. Why would they be...? And then it hit her. The new boys had arrived at school around the same time the alpha pack had come to town. Peter had mentioned something about two alphas that merged to create one giant alpha. That seemed like a very ‘twin-like’ skill. How had the two been right under their noses the entire time and they’d never noticed?

Somehow Zaida ended up making it to the front of the group - considering everyone else was taking it easy due to the long length of track ahead whilst she was sprinting - but she was still nowhere near the werewolves who seemed to have gone off-road. She came careening to a sudden stop at the sight of a body strung up against a tree. The boy’s head was sagging forward but she could see the blood that had streamed from the top of his head and around his neck, drenching his shirt, jacket, jeans, and even his shoes in deep crimson liquid. The rope that had been used to strangle him was still suspending him up on the trunk. Only..upon closer inspection that wasn’t a rope. It was a dog’s leash. Her scream was caught in her throat, causing her to emit a choked sound as footsteps crunching on dried leaves approached from behind her and quickly stopped.

“Hey, hey, don’t look.” Danny pulled her away from it protectively, and from her new position, all she could see were the faces of her terrified classmates. Stiles pushed through the crowd to get to her and looked past to where her back now faced the corpse of the boy. The werewolves finally rejoined them, the twins staring at the body with a complete lack of recognition in their eyes.

“It's him, isn't it?” Stiles asked as Scott stopped by his side. Scott gave a slight nod in confirmation. It was the boy who had gone missing from the animal clinic when he was working the night before.

“Hey, get out of the way! Get back!” The voice of Noah Stilinski ordered them. The fact that he had shown up so quickly made her think that someone else had already called the body in. They had just unfortunately stumbled across it before the police had arrived. “Get this area cordoned off before they trample every piece of evidence.”

“Back up! Everyone back!” A dark-skinned deputy named Tara - one whom Zaida often exchanged greetings with at the station - started to clear the area.

“Zaida?” Another familiar voice called out for her. Her brother appeared in her peripheral vision, pulling her away from the violent crime scene, frowning at her in concern. “Hey, are you okay?”

“It’s not the first one I’ve seen,” She admitted in a dry voice.

“Is something going on again? Is there anything you’re not telling me?” Xander asked her, and she couldn’t bring herself to lie to him this time.

“There’s an alpha pack in town, but we don’t think this was them.” She answered honestly.

“An alpha pa-” He started, clearly not having heard of that term before.

“They’re all alphas. Every last one of them. And their leader is apparently the worst of all.” Zaida interjected. “We don’t know what they want yet - we just know that they kidnapped Erica, Boyd and Derek’s younger sister, killed Erica, and tried to kill Derek, Scott and Isaac. Those two over there, the identical twins? They’re part of it.”

“You should have told me sooner,” He locked his jaw in frustration but let it go with a light huff, simply glad that she was okay. “Just go with your friends and let me handle this, okay?”

“Okay, I’ll see you at the apartment.” She nodded and followed his instruction, heading over to join Stiles, Isaac and Scott.

“Get these kids out of here!” Stilinski was still shouting for the place to be completely cleared out.

“You heard the man!” Coach tried to be helpful. “Nothing to see here! Probably just some homeless kid…”

“Coach?” Scott interrupted him. “He was a senior.”

“Oh…” Coach covered his mouth and let out a long and heavy sigh. “He wasn't on the team, was he?”

“Seriously, Coach?” Zaida looked at him with a deadpan expression.

“KYLE!” An ear-piercing shriek caught them all off guard as a young woman and the hairs on Zaida’s arms stood up as her blood curdled at the sound. “Oh, God, Kyle! Oh, God!”

“Go on! Go.” Noah shot them all a stern look and they backed away, separating from the rest of the class to talk in private.

“You see the way the twins looked at him?” Isaac pointed out, his nostrils flaring and muscles in his jaw tensing as he glared.

“Yeah, you mean, like, they had no idea what happened?” Stiles scoffed.

“No. No, they knew.” Isaac insisted.

“The kid was strangled with a garrote, all right? Am I the only one recognizing the lack of werewolf-itude in these murders?” Stiles exclaimed in exasperation, butting heads with the beta as usual.

“I think you’re a bit biased here, Isaac, and I’m not blaming you for it, but I just don’t think it was them.” Zaida supported the boy.

“Oh, you think it's a coincidence they turn up and then people start dying?” Isaac targeted his response more at Stiles than at her.

“I don’t think that it’s entirely separate. It’s too weird for it to have started happening at the same time after months of peace in the supernatural realm. The two are probably connected somehow…” Zaida mused, chewing slightly on her bottom lip in deep thought.

“But I still don't think it's them…” Stiles finished her thought process for her, looking to Scott for his opinion. “Scott?”

“How 'bout you?” Isaac did the same.

“...I don't know yet.” Scott stumbled over his words, sounding entirely unsure of himself.

“You don't know yet?” Stiles repeated with a dramatically incredulous expression.

“Well, he's got a point…” Scott tilted his head with a sceptical tone. “Seriously, dude? Human sacrifices?”

“Scott, your eyes turn into yellow glow-sticks, okay? Hair literally grows from your cheeks and then will immediately disappear, and if I were to stab you right now, it would just magically heal, but you're telling me that you're having trouble grasping human sacrifices???” Stiles ranted, completely appalled.

“That's a good point, too…” Scott sighed in agreement.

“I don't care. They killed that kid. They killed the girl that saved me. I'm gonna kill them, too.” Isaac stated determinedly with a dark look in his blue eyes, stalking off.

“Well, for what it’s worth, I’m with you on this one, Stiles.” Zaida huffed and propped her hands up on her hips.

“It’s worth a lot,” Stiles smiled at her gratefully, and her heart melted a little bit.

“She’s not coming, she has detention with Isaac, courtesy of Ms Morrell and Mr Harris,” Zaida answered Lydia’s question of whether Allison would be joining them in the cafeteria for lunch. “Actually, Isaac’s detention was because of the twins, who-”

“Lydia, what are you doing free period?” Aiden stalked up to the redhead, leaning against the wall of lockers in a cliche douchebag pose.

“Speak of the devil,” Zaida rolled her eyes and shut her locker with a slam, addressing the boy with a scowl. “Definitely not you. Now why don’t you scurry off with your tail between your legs?”

“I’m studying,” Lydia answered the boy’s question, ignoring Zaida’s sudden animosity.

“What about tonight?” The boy persisted.

“Nope. Studying.” The redhead insisted upon her initial response.

“I could help you…” Aiden offered with a smirk.

“Do you have an IQ higher than one-seventy?” Lydia challenged with a sarcastic glint in her intelligent green eyes.

“...Okay, you could help me.” Aiden chuckled. “Tonight, then?”

“Did you not hear what I said? Scram, you mangy mutt!” Zaida hissed at him and shooed her away with her hands before looping her arm through Lydia’s and dragging her away from him. “Lyds, stay away from him, okay? He is bad news.”

“Come on, Zaida. You know I’m not looking for anything serious.” Lydia scoffed at her friend’s protectiveness.

“No, listen to me, Aiden’s not just some hot, troubled bad-boy with a leather jacket and motorcycle and the douchiest face on planet Earth. That alpha pack that’s in town? The same pack that killed Erica, kidnapped Boyd and Derek’s sister, and tried to kill like almost everyone we know? Ethan and Aiden are part of that pack.” Zaida explained in an urging tone. “Just stay away from him, alright?”

“Oh,” Lydia stated in a surprised voice, her eyes widening slightly.

“You’ve already screwed him, haven’t you?” Zaida groaned, reading her best friend’s face easily.

“Well, I didn’t know he was a murdering werewolf!” She whisper-shouted in defence of herself. “I just thought he was a regular hot jerk.”

“You really need better taste in men.” Zaida pinched the bridge of her nose in exasperation. When she opened her eyes she noticed Stiles further down the hallway trying to talk to the blond girl who had been screaming on the track earlier. “Look, I’ll meet up with you soon, I’ve just gotta go see what that’s about. In the meantime, keep your legs shut, would you?”

Lydia shook her head at the brunette’s comment, but she knew it was a joke so she didn’t take it to heart. “Just because you’re on your way to joining a convent doesn’t mean I have to go with you.”

“Love you too!” Zaida called back at the redhead as she walked away, throwing her hand up and flashing a very particular finger.

“Um, hi, Ashley. Can I talk to you for just one sec?” Stiles fiddled with his fingers and stumbled over his words anxiously as Zaida joined him. What was he going to say to her? “Sorry, I just need to ask you something really quick, and it's gonna sound really unbelievably insensitive, so I apologize in advance...Um…”

Zaida’s eyes widened in alarm. No, he wouldn't...would he?

Congrats on 10 000 posts! 🎊 To celebrate, I have a question for you (sorry if you've already answered this): I was just wondering earlier today (while reading the Viisukuppila bulletin board out of boredom), based on the "clues" we have been given of next year's UMK contestants so far, do you happen to have any theories, hopes or sophisticated guesses on who might be participating? 👀

Thank you darling! ❤ My weak spot is that I don't really follow Finnish music scene and only have a vague idea which artists are popular 😅 But let's see what others have to say!

1. A talented artist’s first 90s-style dance song

The Finnish clue specifies that this is the debute song of the artist in question. Reminds me of Keira last year (success in The Voice of Finland and now releasing their first single). Timmy Tattari reached 3rd place in this year's TVoF and has a record deal with Capitol Finland (same as Keira) but hasn't released anything yet. He follows UMK, Cornelia Jakobs and Monika Linkyté on IG but that doesn't prove anything other that he watches Esc. Another candidate is Olga Heikkala, a singer and an actress who announced this month that she's leaving the soap opera Salatut Elämät after five years. No apparent UMK connections or label afaik, but is friends with KUUMAA boys and has performed on their music video.

2. A power song by a true vocal talent

Finnish fans are speculating about Diandra every year, but I have my doubts. Someone suggested Neea River, who rose to Tiktok fame covering Celine Dion. She is Warner’s artist, co-wrote a song for Blanka (Poland 2023), is friends with Benjamin and IG mutuals with Käärijä & Jesse.

3. Perhaps the best song of an indie favourite’s career

Stoned Statues just released their second album. Music magazine Soundi called them “the most promising young rock band of the moment” and Helsingin Sanomat “the new hope of Finnish heavy metal”. They had three Emma nominations and were awarded “upcoming artist of the year” in Indie Awards 2023. I also saw suggestions for Maustetytöt, but are they still considered indie?

4. Two big name performers doing a surprising duo with a serious refrain

The Finnish version of this hint suggests the refrain being “hard”, meaning catchy. Now we only have to find out which artists are considered “big names” 🙃 Abreu & Pihlaja did release a single together in August, although it must be mentioned that Abreu has previously stated that she’s not interested in Eurovision (although people can change their mind like Robin did). Fans are suggesting Sexmane, Isac Elliot and Costee to be the other half of the duo. I just hope we’re not getting the senior department who have no actual chance or desire to compete in Eurovision, like Danny/Tommi Läntinen 💀 Perhaps this is another Pandora & Teflon Brothers situation.

5. A thunderous rock anthem by a world-touring band

I saw rumours considering The 69 Eyes, but-- god please no. Their heydays are over. My own suggestion was Lost Society who could be the Blind Channel of this year. Shiraz Lane is also a possibility and they are from Ranka Kustannus as BC and Cyan Kicks were.

6. A seriously intense song from one of the most listened-to artists in Finland

The streets (X/Twitter) are saying that BESS is back and I wouldn’t mind it at all! Other suggestions are Gettomasa & Sexmane, the latter of which already had his brother Isaac Sene competing in UMK 2022. “Intense” can mean anything though. One possibility could be Bee who just released her first album and was selected as “breakthrough of the year” by YleX. Jodel rumours suggested Evelina, but I have no idea how reliable that is.

7. A hard-hitting club banger by a well-known artist making a comeback

Jenni Vartiainen just returned from a five-year hiatus, moved back to Finland and published a new single. I doubt she’d participate in UMK as a contestant though since she is one of the most successful Finnish female artists of all time and could easily sell out an arena. Perhaps she’ll be the host this year and in return gets to perform the interval number like Antti Tuisku, Paula Vesala & Samu Haber? I'm leaning more towards Tuuli, who was kind of a teen pop star and is now making a comeback with new label and new style of music. One of the nominees for YleX's breakthrough of the year, released her newest album in August.

Bubbling under: At Tapiola Festivaali Käärijä asked the audience how many of us voted for him in UMK, and said “the rest of you voted for Kuumaa and Portion Boys, right?? next year you’ll get Arttu Wiskari and that’s exactly what you deserve” 😌

Hiiii and thank you for the ask!

How I feel about this character: I love her!! I'm a sucker for a bitchy and secretly lonely popular girl so Lydia got me from the start. The fact that they make her lie about almost every facet of her personality while instantly becoming obsessed with someone who pushes her to break down her walls? And throw her in the deep end where there's no possible way to maintain her strictly curated sense of self? And show how she responds to that trauma by reaching for connection, while transfiguring the iconic hot-girl-scream, a symbol of female fragility and objectification in horror, into a weapon? I love her.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: I love shipping Lydia but I'm so picky because she is too. To me, shipping her has so much to do with her obsession with control.

Lydia's obsession with control is so underrated imho. She's doing incredibly well in school in s1, even as she convinces everyone around her that she's an idiot. It would be easy for her, as a rich hot socialite, to simply ignore school, but instead she wants all of the practical uses of excelling in school (not to mention the pleasure of being correct) and the social capital of being a normie ditzy hot girl and the privacy that this facade allows her. Lydia's greatest fear is helplessness and she refuses to compromise on any point. When she sees a horrifying monster she can't get out of her mind, she will simply take a bunch of drugs about it. Problem solved!

All of this translates into her relationship with Jackson, one of my favorite ships for her. Lydia loves Jackson and she wants their relationship to be a performance that gives her advantages in society and distance and control; she wants a key to his place as a symbol of her success in her relationship, and will also keep it on her at all times because he means so much to her, and she'll lie to his face about having it. Her struggle is not so much realizing she loves Jackson but being willing to give up control by admitting it.

In one of my favorite s2 scenes, Allison asks Lydia if she can relate to the vulnerability of being in love, how "you can't breathe until you're with him." Lydia says no. She's always refused that kind of vulnerability.

It's also a very gay-coded response but I'll get to that in a bit.

If Lydia/Jackson is about Lydia wrestling with her need for control, Lydia/Aiden is at the opposite end of the spectrum. From the beginning, Aiden gives her all the control. One of the first scenes with them is Aiden offering to help her study, and Lydia retorting that she's smarter than he is. It's the kind of thing that would have prompted Jackson to meanness in turn, but Aiden is just like "ok 😍, you help me study then 😍."

Aiden is demanding and violent in other areas of his life, but not with Lydia. When she's disgusted and frightened of him after Boyd's death and avoids him, he lets her keep her distance even though, as he confesses, it hurts him. When they're hooking up, the second she expresses any displeasure, he stops everything he's doing and then does exactly what she tells him to. This isn't to praise him for doing, like, the bare minimum re: consent but to point out how deliberate it is for Aiden: he's a violent bully the rest of the time. He loves beating up Isaac and Scott, for instance, and is happy to threaten his twin about dropping Danny. But the second Kali growls at Lydia, he breaks with the alpha pack altogether. When Derek is trying to get it through his head to do the right thing, he has to frame it in terms of what Lydia would do. Aiden follows her around and believes her about the voices he can't hear and strips when she tells him to so he can be her figure-drawing doll. His final thoughts in life are whether Lydia would approve of him.

And you can see how much Lydia likes it! Aiden comforts her because he's the one person in her life who lets her have complete control. At first it's a part of her slut-phase power trip, but as they get closer, you can see the vulnerability come out.

At the same time, "I love him because I have total control" is also very gay-coded. As is, like, everything Lydia does re: Allison. From the moment they meet, Lydia seems to have no control over the intensity of her feelings about Allison, and compensates by being as controlling as she can get away with. She declares they're going to be best friends immediately, and invites herself on Allison's second date, and picks her clothes for her, and takes a prurient interest in her hook ups with Scott. It's But I'm A Cheerleader levels of gay because, while Lydia obsesses over control and privacy in every other aspect of her life, she seems to have no sense of how openly, vulnerably obsessed she is with Allison. She'll sit in her room alone in the dark for hours just waiting to talk to her. Insane!

And their care is just so mutual! A lot of their dynamic has to do with Allison protecting Lydia, but Lydia is also fiercely protective of Allison: the second Braeden grabs Allison, Lydia squares off with her.

My non-romantic OTP for this character: I ship Allydia but my favorite gen dynamic is Lydia&Allison, and love that the show prioritized friendship the way that it did. Yes, it's easy to ready gay subtext into "Allison, I love you," but it's incredibly friendship-oriented. Allison is the most important person in Lydia's life almost from the second she walks in, just as she is for Scott. Aiden and Allison die on the same night, but there's no question which hurts Lydia more. Allison echoes in every other dynamic Lydia has, especially the care she takes with other girls: Kira, Malia, Sydney, Tracy. It breaks my heart!

I also enjoy the Lydia&Stiles dynamic, especially in 3b, and adore Lydia&Scott's intimacy and support for each other. Will never be over that moment in Pressure Test when Scott turns to her, the only person in the group who can't heal from a bullet (and who's covered in scars from past assaults), and she's chomping at the bit to go flatten hunters with her voice. She's his tank!

My favorite late season dynamic is Lydia&Malia: they're SO funny together, and complement each other really well. One of the pleasures of 6a is how, with Stiles gone, Lydia&Malia's friendship takes center stage while Scott naps in the back.

My unpopular opinion about this character: Fandom largely doesn't think about Lydia so I don't know what would be my most unpopular opinion. Potentially it's that what Peter did to Lydia matters, something that Peter-fandom is eager to erase. Peter violently assaults her, and then goes out of his way to be cruel to her as he takes over her mind in s2. He pretends to be a boy her age who's interested in her just to work some mockery into his flirting, delighting in how much control he has over her--her worst nightmare. He reveals the truth in the most jarring way possible, and then toys with her terror. Once he's back, he plays at regret but only when it suits him: as soon as she has something he wants again, he'll attack her twice in the course of one conversation. Fandom tends to use Lydia's role as the smart character into a stamp of approval for their fave or OTP, and it's always annoying but disgusting when it's about Peter.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon. Oh man, so many things. Since I discussed Lydia/Jackson above, I was always frustrated by how the onus seemed to be solely on Lydia to be vulnerable, rather than both of them, given that they're both control freaks who love each other but were mean to each other. Jackson should have gotten over himself and said "I love you back," geez.

I have a whole rant about her mistreatment in 6a.

I also wish we had seen more of her relationship with her family. Lydia seems so molded by her parents' acrimony and divorce, and shows that Lydia inherits her social craftiness from her mother, but the show only touches on it rarely. Natalie is also the weirdest of the parents, given her obsession with denying the truth and locking her daughter in Eichen, but the show stifles all but the briefest moments of friction between her and Lydia.

Ranking Ethan Pairings with - Danny, Jackson, Isaac, Scott and Parrish

You know me so well, asking this.

Ethan/Isaac: They've grown on me so frighteningly quickly and now I live for them.

Ethan/Danny: One of the best canon relationships on the show, extremely wholesome, I also love them.

Ethan/Scott: I hadn't really thought of this one, though I can see it. Ethan was quick to catch on to Scott's philosophy when he and Aiden were attempting to join the Pack, and that could easily be a result of him identifying with it and connecting to Scott's heart in a way.

Ethan/Parrish: Also had not thought of this one, but I like the vision. They both live isolated from a lot of what they once accepted as their 'homes' and it would be fun to see them find solace in each other. My only hesitation is that the age gap would probably be akin to the Lydia/Parrish age gap and those scenes were...uncomfortable, but it's fanfiction and I can age them up a bit or not worry about it, so it's fine.
