high school/college witch Stiles who learned magic with his mother and she always taught him to use his power for good and not for selfish reasons, and after his mother died he always remembered her teachings.
But then he meets Derek and there's always girls basically throwing themselves at him despite Derek making it clear that he's not interested, and so he begins using some spells to play pranks on those girls, like really low level stuff, like dropping drinks on them, making them itch, or even a weak laxative, and he feel so guilty because he thinks he's being selfish by pushing those girls away from Derek, and going against everything his mother taught him, and that Derek will hate him if he ever finds out what Stiles is doing.
meanwhile Derek is completely aware of what Stiles is doing, and thinks it's really cute how possessive Stiles is, though unlike Stiles he feels no guilt in removing any guy that even looks twice in Stiles direction.

Key Differences in Prime Earth (PE)/New Earth (NE) Jason's
Jason's own cognizance and awareness as a whole has been canned within PE. Jason worked in NE because of his metatextual awareness of the never-ending slaughter of victims. People created specifically to be statistics, to brush aside. That's why he confused some people who read the story—it's a Batman comic where nameless people die all the time, it's a part of the genre. Why are you challenging the genre?
This is obviously absent from PE Jason, down to Jason having fully lost his greater awareness or purpose as a character. He's nearly aimless. He's more like Dick than he has ever been, in that he is a complacent yes-man; sure he'll kick his feet or argue or get beat-on when times are tough and Bruce needs to let some steam off, but he does capitulate. His attitude about Bruce has also shifted more towards Dick's as well—he does not recognize what Bruce does as abusive at all. He does criticize Bruces actions but he's so quick to forgive/forget that nothing sticks.
Jason NE's entire purpose as a character was to actively challenge The Batman and Bruce, in what was one of the most brilliant decisions to be made with character resurrections—he wasn't just some ally who came back, he was Bruce and Batmans fucking son. He was Robin. Now he's Batmans antagonist.
Jason PE has lost that greater purpose. It's why he is so aimless and a part of what makes people so sick of him, enough so to get blisteringly vitriolic as to crow on and on about him. He is toothless, he is fangless, he does not challenge Bruce in a way that matters. He fakes Cobblepots death, Bruce puts him into a coma, and Jason and Bruce hug it out later. Zero emotional resonance. No meat at all to this story. Bouts of tonal whiplash delivered with the kind of writing that bores you to sleep.
Jason NE was disruptive to the Pro Status Quo propaganda comics churns out all the time, Jason actively centered the so-called 'collateral' damage, the statistics, the never-changing cyclical nature of Gotham. How he died 18 years ago real-time, and 3 years ago in-universe time, and nothing at all has changed—and in fact there's a new lamb for the slaughter.
Jason PE is now part of the pro status-quo propaganda. Just as Dick always has been. The capitulator. The same as everyone else. His sparkle is gone </3
Jason PE is defanged and devoid of any sort of real politics; internally he rarely delves into the quandaries and thoughts that Jason NE did. He doesn't even have the core of Jason NE's concerns—child sex trafficking, rape, drug rings, the structure of organized crime and the desire to control it, Jason PE has no greater goals. Genuinely honest to fucking god it's like he's never wanted anything a day in his damn life other than Bruce to be niceys to him. Jason NE also wanted the niceys but he had more conviction than that god damnit xD
Jason NE was refusing to squander his own morals, his own ethics, his own convictions, in chase of some false magnanimous makeup. He knew it wasn't going to happen and he didn't care to neuter himself to get it. He tried reaching out when he could. He was strangely respectful to them, even when making disparaging comments his high regard shone through. His disregard for the bats comes from a philosophical standpoint far more than a personal one. The personal issues he has with Bruce are part of it, yes, but it's bigger than that and always has been. His Robin tenure was rife with his views! He was doubtful and unhappy with Bruce AS ROBIN because he did not feel Bruce was accomplishing enough or doing enough.
Jason PE seems to just… He hasn't killed in the better part of a decade. He killed that one singular abusive dad and that's… about it really. His attitude towards death and the act of killing is (un)shockingly unexplored.
Jason PE doesn't have a super explored philosophy. Because RHATO is a hackjob. Other writers have touched on it, briefly, like the one who wrote about Jason PE pondering desk-murderers, or how Jason PE is in Task force Z, or elseworlds like the Boy Wonder one. Beastworld, too. Though none of these, not a single one, is reminiscent of Jason NE. All of them try to psychoanalyze Jason PE. Boy Wonder and Beastworld especially were reductive lenses on Jason as a whole.
Broadly speaking, Jason has just been victim to the corporate-sloppification, enshittification, sludge that has been rebirth for the bat-colony. Everyone knows what Tom Taylor's done to Dick's characterization. The superficiality, the even less-than-skin-deep writing. That. That is where Jason PE is at. Just with more whump/angst material, instead of happy go lucky drivel. They're like two sides of the same shit coin at the moment.
Speaking of Rebirth as a whole, there is also an acute risk-aversion evident. There hasn't been a single damn thing in DC like NML since it came out. A year long arc that effects literally fucking everything in Gotham. I cannot even begin to imagine DC publishing something like that current day. Can you imagine someone trying to get that story greenlit?
Jason NE was written by taking a huge fucking risk. The UTH story ends with Bruce being wrong. Having failed. There is no third option. He just failed this time, and he is culpable. Bruce died (yet another fake out but still) for a long time. Dick was fucking Batman. They switched Robins. Tim got a new Identity and kept it. BFTC was a huge risk to take as a story. It sucked fucking shit, but that's because Tony Daniels wrote it. And then Morrison took another risk and went back to fucking Camp-Batman but used Jason NE as the vehicle for that.
Even when Jason NE was being narratively… pummeled for existing, he was still being written with teeth. Jason PE can't leave tooth marks or claw marks on anything. He does not have the implements to do so. He just has scramble to hold on while he's always slipping away. All Jason PE is, is soft-underbelly.

The thing about your very valid argument about how adjusting the timeline could have fixed most of the continuity questions of Andor and Rogue One is that it illustrates how much Cassian's premise could not have been done well in the industry that is telling the story:
It would all make more sense if Cassian were younger! But also, clearly this whole thing only got greenlit in the first place because someone went to Disney and said look, Rogue One is one of your most successful Star Wars projects to date. It is divorced from the controversial sequel trilogy and we can sidestep the rabid fanboy rage by giving them a Man in the leading role this time. And Diego Luna is passionate about the project, and both "foreign" and progressive enough to make Disney look progressive for featuring him but obscure enough (and, let's face it, probably white enough) to rabid US bigots to not have them up in arms about his casting.
So the draws were: direct connection to Rogue One and featuring one of its more popular standout personalities prominently - because they were clearly terrified that nobody was going to care about this show. I really think any version insisting on centering a younger, unknown actor as young Cassian for anything longer than a two-minute flashback would have died on the vine. They would not have taken that risk. It could have been better, and made more sense, and given them much more room to work with and breathe (and also, if we want to dream really big, this could have let them produce like four seasons at the same time, with Diego shooting stuff now that would be released as Seasons 3 and 4 without him having aged out of the role in the meantime). But they were not going to present the public with the prequel for a guy they barely cared about played by an actor nobody ever heard of. Genuinely I think this whole project lived and died with the casting and they simply decided to ignore all the pacing and story issues that came with it.
that is... all too real, actually. and it makes me so sad. the movie industry isn't interested in telling good stories anymore, they haven't been in a while. they just want a quick cash grab. and you can tell even they knew that Diego was too old for the role because that's why they aged him up. so why not just cast a younger actor?! instead of messing with the story and retconning stuff. don't get me wrong, I love Diego as Cassian, he was a fantastic choice for Rogue One, but the story and character are more important to me. and he could have 100% still appeared as older Cassian later on.
but well, I know why. you laid it out pretty well. it's just incredibly frustrating.

THANK YOU ALL TO THE SUPER NICE AND SUPPORTIVE MESSAGES I GOT AFTER FINISHING MY FIC💖💖💖🥹🥹🥹there were too many to respond to separately and i didnt wanna feel like i was repeating myself, so i just wanna say thank you all at once, it really means so much to me that you all read along and enjoyed it so much and what it meant to u all personally🥹 second pic is how i feel....ur all my proud parents congratulating me after i just finished building something cool and im showing it off to you LMFAOO

FUN FACT men actually didnt wear engagement/wedding rings back in the 1890s! it was only in the beginning of the 1900s that they started wearing them (due to the first world war) bc they wanted to have something to bring with them to remember their wives. SO YEAH thats why!! i guess wizard society could be different, but i just went with real world lore on that front BAHA
Tumblr media
@psyducktastic BAHAH THANK YOUU!! tbh i was originally planning on making the wedding even shorter/glossing over it even more, and didnt really MAKE a decision on whos POV it was gonna be in...it just happened as i started writing LOL. i guess i wrote it from sebs POV bc less emotions there to focus on, unlike CLORAS pov, which like you said, would be running a mile a minute and filled with all these thoughts, and subsequently make me unable to gloss over the scene like i wanted to LOL. plus, the whole anticipation of a wedding is in finally seeing the bride, so even tho it wasnt even intended, i kinda like that the reader will be in the same position as seb/the audiences POV as they wait for the bride to enter. and yes clora defs had a lot of bittersweet feelings, i think i have her mention it internally in that conversation with anne, that its still an adjustment and that even tho shes ofc happy with seb, its still kinda lonely/will take some getting used to. but i didnt wanna bring down the mood in the last chapter by focusing too much on those bittersweet feelings, so i just focused on the sweet instead 🥹💖and also i cant even imagine what clive and clora were doing outside the door before they entered...i imagine clive was secretly choked up and clora was nervous, which resulted in the two of them just being completely silent BAHAHA. maybe some subtle squeezes of reassurance and comfort back and forth BUT THANK YOU AGAIN💖💖💖AND IM HAPPY YOU LIKED HOW I ENDED IT🥹💖💖💖

Macbeth Q&A 18th Jan 2024 Part 1
Was lucky enough to get a ticket for the Member's Event at the Donmar Warehouse that took place on the 18th...with the price of the patronages I sure never thought I'd have gotten the chance, but luckily, they also let in some non-members 🥹❤️
The brilliant performance of Macbeth was followed by a very quick cleaning of the stage - thought for sure it would've taken them longer to remove the blood than like 5 minutes - followed by a lovely, little Q&A session.
The Q&A was led by Craig Gilbert (Literary manager) who talked to Annie Grace and Alasdair Macrae (Musicians and part of the acting ensemble) as well as Cush Jumbo and David Tennant.
Anyway, just gonna write down some of the stuff they talked about :) sorry if it's a bit messy! Might be spoilery if you haven't seen it yet but are going to!
To begin with Craig remarked that he didn't think he'd ever seen that many people staying behind for a Q&A before (While I was just wondering why some people even left!? Stressful!).
David introduced himself with "My real name is David "Thane of Paisely" Tennant - while Cush introduced herself with "I´m Cush Jumbo - there's only one of me".
First question was Craig asking them what it was that brought them to the Donmar to do Macbeth - to which David pretty much just replied that 1. It's the Donmar! 2. It's Macbeth! One of the greatest plays of all time in an amazingly intimate space - and that the theatre is famous for its quality of work. So he found it quite hard to think of a reason not to do it!
Cush said she'd worked there before and loves the theatre, how it's so intimate but also a great workspace. Followed by her saying she said yes because David asked her. She talked about how important it was for this play to do it together with the right actor playing opposite you.
David says Max Webster asked him about a year ago if he wanted to do the play - he gave him the dates - and since there weren't any obstacles in the way, David didn't have any excuse not to do it.
He then said that he had slightly avoided Macbeth - there sorta being the assumption that if you're Scottish and has done some Shakespeare plays before you have to do Macbeth. Which he joked was a bit odd since it's not like every Italian has to play Romeo. Then he mentioned that Macbeth is probably a bit more of a jock than he is - that it seemed more like a part for big, burly actors.
Max had laid out his initial ideas to David, a lot of which are in the final production, and David thought he seemed lovely, bright and clever and inventive plus it being the Donmar Warehouse! To which joked that he had last worked there 20 years ago - when he was 8 years old! "It's just one of those spaces" - friendly and epic at the same time where it's such a pleasure to be on the stage.
When Craig asked his next question concerning the sound of the play someone asked him to speak louder as she couldn't hear them - to which David joked that they've gotten so used to whispering. But also said sorry, and that they would!
Alasdair explained a bit about the process of the binaural sound - bit I find it a bit difficult to decipher it all correctly, sorry. He did say that a interesting part of it is that it allows them a controlled environment where they can put all the musicians (and even the bagpipes!) behind the soundproof box so "Poor David and Cush" doesn't have to shout over all the racket.
Craig asked David and Cush what their reaction was when they heard about the concept of the binaural soundscape - to which David replied that it didn't quite exist when they first came onboard - Cush joking they were tricked into it. Then she talked about her and David going on a workshop with Max to get a feeling of how it would all work - and get a sense of how it would sound to the audience, as this was one of the few times, they got to hear that side of it. Their experience of the play being completely different to the experience the audience has.
Cush said they can hear some of the sound - like she can hear some of the animal sounds and David can hear some of the stuff from the glass box - but most of their cues and information comes from timing with each other. She said they won't be able to ever hear what the audience hears - to which David joked "We're busy".
It felt like mixing medias - as it all went quite against their natural stagecraft instinct - but Cush found that in the long run it made things very interesting - like they don't have to worry about getting something whispered to each other - as the audience will hear it anyway.
David said the odd thing is that they don't really know what the experience truly is like. He mentioned that to the sides of the stage there's a speaker for them where they will get any cues that they need to hear. Like they can hear the witches - but they can't hear where they are "positioned" - so they have to learn how to place themselves to fit with what the audience hears. They don't hear everything, though. And the audio they hear is quite quiet, so it doesn't disturb what comes through the headphones.
He thinks it's been exciting - that it's a bit like a mix between film and theatre. It's happening live - but it's also like post-production is happening between them and the audience as it's going on. They just have to trust that the audience is hearing what they are supposed to for it all to make sense.
Cush said she thinks in 10 - 20 years, as these technologies has developed, doing theatre like this will feel a lot more normal - not that they will do it ALL the time, but that they will be doing it - whereas now it's still like an experiment. What Cush really like about the concept is that if was done in a much bigger theatre - then people in the cheapest seats would be able to have an experience much more similar to those in the most expensive seats - they'd be a lot more immersed into the action.
David then talks about how it feels extremely counterintuitive to not go on stage and speak loud enough that the people in the back row can also hear you. And usually, if they can't hear you, you aren't doing your job right! But then it felt very liberating. He loves it.
Cush then talked about how it felt odd waiting in the wings for a cue you can't hear - where you traditionally wait backstage and you can hear your cues, you can hear the rythm and know when it's your turn - so it was quite disconcerting to hear silence. So it's basically down to them now knowing the show and each other's timings - like if David is standing at a certain point, she knows how long she has before she needs to say/do something. So you have to watch each other more closely and really focus on what the others are doing.
David asked the musicians if they can hear everything inside the box, to which Annie replied that they get everything except some extra bits in the soundscape. But they can hear the actors on stage. Annie said it's actually a bit of a mystery to all of them what the audience actually experiences - how the big pictures actually look like - they just have to trust that it's there "Is it there?!".
Someone asked if they had had any adverse reactions from audiences to having to wear the headphones. Quite a bit of laughter all around :P then David said "There's the odd person" and something about if someone hadn't gotten the memo before turning up...but not sure how he ended the line. Then once again says that yes, there's the odd person who doesn't like it and that's fair enough.
The same audience member then said he could see the advantage of it in a big theatre where the distance is big, but not in a small place like the Donmar - to which David very quickly, rather passionately replied that it's not about projection, it's about being able to do things you wouldn't normally be able to do live - where they can speak so quietly that they can't even hear each other when standing next to each other. So even in such a small place, people wouldn't be able to hear that. It's about creating a different play - which isn't to everyone's taste and that's fair enough. But for a play that's been done a hundred and seven million times he thinks it's very valid to try and find a new way into the play - even if it's not for everyone.

Shosho hearing you don't like Paradox is like hearing Strawberry Shortcake is actually allergic to cats wtf is going on girl
I'M SORRY BUT SHE IS THE WORST
Listen, she's SO pretty. I love her design. Her name is a banger (the name Paradox for a Gemini is SO cool) Her abilities/premise is also interesting
BUT SHE IS AN AWFUL PERSON
Every other Gemini we've seen has been good/turned good at some point. And when I say good I mean TRULY good. Selfless, introspective, kind, literally a Saint in all forms of the word.
Paradox is NOT that
For one thing, she's not possessed. She actually has split personality disorder or something akin to it. She has two personalities, Loving Paradox and Hateful Paradox. She actually willingly joins the Martians/Mars (get it....nod to Ares....) and stands against Sanctuary.
Paradox can see the future/futures, so she has premonitions and visions. She CHOSE not to warn Sanctuary about Mars because she WANTED him to destroy the world. Why? Because she wanted to marry Shiryu.
That is her WHOLE motivation for what she does. Shiryu saved her life when she was young, she fell in love with him, that love turned to obsession, and when she couldn't have HIM because he married Shunrei, SHE TURNED HER OBSESSION TO HIS SON RYUHO
She wants Mars to destroy and rebuild the world without Shunrei in it so she can be with Shiryu (and mother Ryuho??? Which makes her obsession for him even WEIRDER)
And when Mars is defeated she's imprisoned like Kanon was and she never repents! NEVER!! She genuinely hates Athena and wants Sanctuary and the world to burn
Because she's in love with a married man/his son
She's gross, she's poorly written, she's a walking failure of the Bechdel test, she's SUCH a spit in the face to Saga and Kanon (she's supposed to be a mixture of the two but she retains NONE of their aspects) and I cannot bring it in me to defend or even like her. Not even her backstory is interesting.
She feels like if someone took Saga and Kanon's premise and stuffed it into Lizard Misty's personality with a sprinkling of Aphrodite's looks.
She's an awful little chimera of a character and if I could put her in a jar and shake her I would do so without any hesitation

It's games night tomorrow. I have prepared Marauders questions accordingly. Feel free to include Snape and Lily in the game.
Who's the best at Chess? Who's the worst?
Who's the best at poker? Who's the worst?
Who's always suggesting Strip Poker, and who turns up wearing extra layers for the occasion?
This is my favourite game - who's the best at Scrabble?
Who's the best at charades and who's the worst?
Truth or dare! Who's choosing what? And would you wanna indulge us with an uncomfortable truth about each one of them?
Finally, how would a game of Werewolf go down? Ironically, I have a feeling Remus would be very bad at it.
omg this is a fun one!! Good luck with your games night!
Who's the best at Chess? Who's the worst?
Honestly, I feel like it's Sirius for a lot of these. Sirius lol. I see him as pretty strategic and he's obviously very intelligent and I think he'd have played a lot against Reg as a kid. James could maybe give him a run for his money just because James has maths brain, but on the other hand I think he'd be a bit reckless strategy-wise. Though now that I think about it Remus would be quite good... hmm now I think it's actually a tie between Sirius and Remus. And they'd have the most fun playing each other for that reason because they're evenly matched. Peter, obviously, is the worst.
Who's the best at poker? Who's the worst?
Again I think Sirius is the best. His poker face is impeccable first of all, and he's very very perceptive when it comes to others. I think he'd be an absolute menace when playing poker. Like he could play professionally. And here I'll actually say that Remus is the worst-- we know Peter can be very deceptive when he wants to be, and also I think he'd be quite a cautious player. So would Remus but his bluffs would just NOT work, especially on Sirius. James kind of just average.
Who's always suggesting Strip Poker, and who turns up wearing extra layers for the occasion?
Again I think Sirius is probably suggesting this lol. Maybe James. Peter DEFINITELY would turn up with three thousand layers lol. Remus, while knowing he will lose, is committed to fairness so he'd play the game as god intended.
This is my favourite game - who's the best at Scrabble?
lol I must confess that I hate scrabble..... but its fine.... maybe I'll go James for this one! I just feel like he has a quick thinking to him that would make him spot possibilities on the board and his letters really easily. The reason I hate scrabble while actually loving anagrams btw is that it's not about making the longest word (which I enjoy) but about getting shorter but effective words on the right squares. That's much less fun to me because instinctively I always just want to make the longest word possible (so I prefer playing along with Countdown or the nyt spelling bee haha.)
You didn't ask for the worst scrabble player but it's probably Peter-- on the other hand I can also see Sirius being That Guy who constantly tries for words that everyone knows dont exist lol.
Who's the best at charades and who's the worst?
Okay hmm this is interesting... I think I'm going to say James is best, and my reasoning for that is that the Potters were definitely a Charades Family. Every christmas they play charades in the parlour (🤢) however James is also extremely competitive about it and gets VERY frustrated when people don't guess right lol. He takes it way too seriously. Maybe I'll say Sirius is worst because 1. he wouldn't make much of an effort 2. he'd purposefully choose extremely obscure things just to be annoying
Truth or dare! Who's choosing what? And would you wanna indulge us with an uncomfortable truth about each one of them?
I think I've answered the first bit before so quickly: James, Sirius-- dare. Remus, Peter-- truth. Okay now the home truths....
Sirius: hard to say what he wouldn't be willing to admit to, tbh. Maybe something actually emotional-- something like his fears that he'll become like his family. Or, tbh, the fact that he once believed his family's screed about muggleborns, which is something he may have tried to downplay later on.
James: James would be embarrassed about slightly less deep things than Sirius haha. I do think his crush on Lily would be embarrassing to him at first. Depending on when this game is played I don't think James would really want to admit he'd never kissed a girl. Obviously he has deeper insecurities, but in terms of what he's aware of I think James is generally pretty open.
Remus: Remus has a lot of obvious uncomfortable truths. Maybe that he doesn't approve of some of his friends' behaviour, or his fears that he's less than what his friends deserve, his jealousy (as I see it) of Sirius. I also see Remus as having had at one point a crush on Lily too so he would NOT want to admit that in front of James.
Peter: I'm gonna say he pissed the bed his first year lol. He also would not want to admit that he's never kissed a girl-- whereas Remus would probably admit this quite easily. I think he'd also be unwilling to admit to academic failure. Peter's definitely the most likely to lie during truth or dare.
Finally, how would a game of Werewolf go down? Ironically, I have a feeling Remus would be very bad at it.
I had to look up what werewolf was, we call it 'assassin' in spain.
I think Peter would be the surprise star of this game haha. He's sneaky. iirc you need more than 4 players so lets say they're playing with a big group of people-- James and Sirius would be an insanely good team if they were the murderers/werewolves. Sirius would also be very very persuasive in getting the group to accuse someone other than him. I agree Remus would not be very good at this lol.... Sirius and Peter would definitely be the best. If they were both the murderers though Sirius would absolutely sell Peter out to survive, ironically haha. James would be alright, especially if paired with Sirius, but maybe a bit overconfident. Lily I think would be quite good at this too.
wait Ive just reread the ask and realised I was supposed to include Sev and Lily. For most of these though, I don't think Sev and Lily would be either best or worst compared to the Marauders. Lily might be quite good at scrabble though, I can see her beating James. I'll add their truths (both would pick truth imo, although I can see Lily picking dare.)
Sev: his crush on Lily
Lily: her crush on James
Okay done! Lol. It's hard for me to imagine Sev playing anything with the Marauders (or anything at all to be honest unless it was a 2 player game with Lily. So I can't envisage how he'd ever be playing truth or dare.) But more seriously, if Lily was playing with the Marauders she probably would not want to admit a great many intimate details to a group of teenage boys haha.

chill tf out i was just giving an advice, you have no right to treat random ppl like that, especially when i was just trying to help. you’re a proper asshole, hope ppl realize that
who tf asked for it though
here i’ll spell it out for you since you clearly don’t understand and id like you comprehend why you giving unsolicited advice is broadly seen as entitled and a dick move by the entire creator community online: we are not an art critique circle
if your criticism ever hurts someone and stops them from wanting to draw you failed as a critiquer. your criticism wasn’t constructive it was destructive. and the chances of this happening on the internet is High.
point blank: you don’t know if someone is doing drawing something someway because they like it or not. and you voicing your opinion is thus not ‘helping’ as you so very much want to believe, it’s entitlement to think you know better.
people draw and post on here to get away from real world where critiques from ur boss or ur colleagues actually matter.
there are times where creators solicit advice or suggestions. give them there.

They’re having discourse on Tiktok about attachment issues. Attachment. Issues. You know, the thing usually caused by some trauma or underlying mental issues. Cool, great. They love to victimize people with anxious attachment styles, while villainizing people who have avoidant attachment styles.
Both can be terrible to someone in a relationship.
Both are capable of recognizing that and changing it.
Call me chronically online all you fucking want, but if you believe someone is undeserving of love because of a trauma response, maybe it’s you who needs to take a step outside.
