What about pie? Okay, kidding aside, if Tiergan was forced to give up his current way of life, whether that decision was caused by an important life decision, or forced upon him due to injury. What else would he pursue?

This is a question I don’t know if I have the answer to as a lot would hinge upon the circumstances around why Tiergan would no longer be able to continue being a mercenary and what came after.

Tiergan openly admits that his only real skill and the “only thing he’s able to offer others” is violence.  He’s been trained and shaped into a gladiator for a long, long time and fighting is the only thing he really knows, the only thing he feels he has true mastery over.  If he lost the ability to fight due to injury - he’d likely fall into a depression as his ‘one thing’ of value he could offer other people would now be lost and the violence that grounded him and gave him identity would be out of reach.  What he would pursue and grow into next would strongly depend on the people around him, the kind of support and encouragement given to him, and the reassurance that he has far more to offer than just blood, fury, and a sharp blade.  With the right kind of help - he’d likely pursue something that involved making something.  Being able to create for once instead of destroying would appeal to him and give him back a sense of being grounded and in control of himself again.  Not cooking though - because he’s absolutely terrible at it.

15. How does your character view magic?

As one that practice thaumaturgy, Yhm’ir would gladly tell you about all the various ways magic is useful and a gift. 

Though mostly versed in magic that injure, he is just as interested in using it for flashy displays, entertainment and joy, as keeping control over the aetherborn abillities is one of his primary ways of challenging himself.

At the same time, he is very well aware of the danger, potential misuse and temptation when you have the power to command fire at your fingertips. 

He detests void magic, and those who practice it, having seen first hand what it can make someone do- and after nearly turning to it himself after a desperation to get stronger, he has become increasingly aware of how little he actually knows, despite years of study.

In short; Magic is crazy and wonderful and dangerous, and he was relieved when his daughter didn’t have a lick of talent for it.

Somehow, someway, your character has found themselves on a pub crawl. What do they do?

Pub 4

After being adopted as their impromptu mascot, is now being ferried around by the pirates on a makeshift palanquin as their “Pirate Queen” | Beyond wine drunk and keeps losing layers because it’s “too hot” | Is engaging in some cross group friendly rivalry in the ages old combination of booze and hurling sharp objects at a target | Passed out in the gutter halfway to the fourth pub | Whether it is incendiaries or herding the entire crew onto an impromptu dragon flight, whatever surprise is planned will be memorable

Fact Swap: Dark's real name is Dierk Aethlyn Foreblade. His eldest sister use to tease him by calling him "Little Dierk Aeth" which eventually began to stick. It wasn't until he arrived at Ul'dah after he had left Ala Mhigo, when people started mispronouncing his name. Even his SO started calling him Darkaeth. Now people just refer to him as Dark.

Fact Swap: Though she doesn’t really hate her first name, Ren feels entirely unsuited to it. With an interchangeable meaning of “lotus” or “beloved,” it was given to her by her mother in the hopes that she would one day become a famous geiko. Ren lacked the required talents in dancing, music, and peformance in general, however, and chose a very different life path for herself. When she found herself in Eorzea, and choosing a surname due to the constant expectation that she have one, she considered changing her name entirely. In the end, however, she decided against it, as it was literally the only thing she had left of her previous life in Yanxia.
