Synopsis: Your boyfriend Shun Kaido asks to come over after your teacher assigned a project. Between the two of you, Shun is the one to ramble on about a topic, so you have to find a way to finish your work and make your boyfriend happy.

You liked to believe you were a focused person. Like anyone, things tend to distract you, but if you put your mind to it, nothing could stop you. That is unless it’s an unstoppable force, like your boyfriend, perchance. Your science teacher was assigning a very large project that would go towards almost half of your grade. So you had no choice but to put your attention on it. When the last bell rang, you stood from your chair, put on your bag in an instant and you were out of the room in one minute flat.

As you got home, you grabbed a small snack and fled upstairs to your room. Notebook? Check. Pencils and pens? Double check. Highlighters? Check. Computer open and ready to research the hell out of this project? Check. You started strong, filling two pages of notes worth. You printed out small diagrams and pictures that would help you remember and you were on a roll. Until you felt the table buzz shortly. Your pencil stopped and you looked over at the source. It was your phone. You were about to wave it off as an app sending you an unneeded notification, but then it buzzed again.

You set down your working tool and flipped your device over. When you caught sight of the name, a smile melted on your face. Kai❤️ Sent You A Message.

He was most likely looking for your notes, so what harm could he do? As the little bubble popped up, you waited patiently, looking over at your open notebook, and then you felt your phone hum. You scanned over the message and your eyes widened. You loved Shun with every fiber in you, but there was a bit of conflict in his question.

Wow. How can you say no to that? You sighed, giving him the approval to come over and he was quick to respond. You set down your phone chuckling as you got back to work. You hoped he would keep his promise. But you knew that it would be a stretch. Keeping Shun quiet was rarely possible. Well, there is one way. That thought made you smile, but it left just as fast as it came. The idea of getting a bad grade on this assignment made you go stone cold and you picked up your pencil, going right back to work.

There was a repetitive knock at your door, but the sound didn’t fall on your ears. Since you had your headphones in you were determined that nothing was going to stop you. Not even Shun knocking at your door. The boy put his ear up to the wood, waiting for your response. Your mother just said you were in your room. Maybe she’s asleep. A mischievous idea popped into his head. He quietly turned your doorknob, snickering to himself, but as your lit room came into sight, he found you upright at your desk. Perfect. He thought. She’s so unsuspecting. Just as he was about to go through with his scare tactic, he stopped at the sight of your concentrated face.

Shun was a simple man, so just seeing the way your lamp hit your face was enough for him to be whipped into shape. His heart fluttered and he found it so adorable that you were working hard on an assignment he wasn’t going to do until the last second. He stalked over, hoping not to startle you in your peaceful stage. Which was a coincidence, since just a few moments ago, he was planning just that. He wrapped his arms around you, resting his head against yours,” You’re really focusing here, huh Babe?”

You slid your headphones down,” Yeah, but I saw you come in. You aren’t very sneaky when you’re just staring at me from my doorway.” Shun blushed at this, realizing he wasn’t as sneaky as he thought,” That’s what I was planning on.” A lie, but you let it slide. You felt Shun kiss the top of your head and move somewhere in your room,” So what are you even doing for the project?”

“Well, the teacher said we could do anything, just as long as it follows the rubric,” You explained,” So I’m doing mine about the trigger response.” Shun had grabbed an extra rolling chair and rolled right next to you,” Like…” he held up his hand, showing a finger gun. You give him a blank stare,” No, Shun. Like flight or fight.”

The boy let out a long ‘oh’, finally understanding,” I get it. Kinda like how I’m always ready to protect everyone from Dark Reunion.” You giggled under your breath, no stranger to his Jet Black Wings act. You found it endearing that he wanted to save the people around him, even if it was a facade,” Yeah, just like that Sweetheart.”

You turned back to your work, highlighting a section in your notes, but Kaidou had other plans,” Speaking of Dark Reunion. On my way here, I felt a disturbance in the wind.” You nodded softly, knowing that even with a small confirmation, he would continue with his story,” But I knew it wasn’t Dark Reunion because I’ve placed an artifact of mine on your lawn.”

You smiled at his statement,” You mean that little garden gnome?” He scoffed at you in a fake offense,” Yes, but he’s not little, I placed a protection charm on it.” You hummed acknowledgingly,” Is that why your hand bandages are glued to its hat?”

He leaned back cooly,” Yep, pretty amazing, right?” You glanced over, smirking at his chillaxed demeanor,” Mhm.” Scanning your computer, you flipped a page, as well as listening to your boyfriend,” Anyways, so I’m walking up to your house, and all of a sudden a huge beast jumps from the bushes.”

You gave a small sound as a response,” I got into my defense pose, ready to attack, because no way am I letting a worker for Dark Reunion harm you.” You wrote down more facts, trying to multitask, but it seemed that Shun was going to continue even if you didn’t give him an audible answer,” I pick up a rock and throw it, kinda like a ninja star, but it narrowly dodged, leaving me without another weapon.”

As he rambled, your jaw started to tighten. It wasn’t anger, more like slight frustration,” I decided to use my quick thinking skills and grab a stick, inching closer,” The grip on your pencil began to tighten. You were struggling to focus, but you didn’t want to tell Shun to stop talking, since he was clearly passionate about the subject,” Then it lunged! I scrambled backward and I wouldn’t be surprised if your neighbors were watching outside the window.”

You closed your eyes, needing some sort of solution that would let him down easy,” The creature swept me from my feet and I thought I was going to be defeated,” He continued, getting more excited,” Little did it know, that I had a secret weapon, so I-“ To Shun’s surprise, you had grabbed the sides of his face, and before he could finish his epic tale, you pulled him into a kiss.

The boy was quick to silence himself and lean into you. You pulled back, catching your breath,” You know I love you,” Shun nodded lightheaded, acting like a boy who just held his first girlfriend’s hand,” Yeah.” He hummed. You placed another kiss on his lips, giggling quietly as a blush covered his face,” But I thought you promised that you wouldn’t distract me.”

His eyes widened, now realizing his mistake,” Oh I’m sorry-“ You shook your head,” You’re alright, don’t apologize. I was just getting overwhelmed.” The smallest pout appeared on his face, but you instantly erased it with multiple pecks across his features. You finished with one long kiss on his forehead,” Do you wanna cuddle with me on the bed?”

He nodded happily, watching you with doting eyes as you collected your things. You got comfortable on your bed, gesturing for the boy to follow you. He rushed up, tackling you into the comforter. His head rested against your chest, sighing in comfort,” I love you.” He mumbled. You massaged his sky-blue hair, your heart swelling,” I love you too Shun.”

You were both finally comfortable. You rested your computer on his back, but he was already knocked out and didn’t have a complaint. Now you could work in peace with the one you cherished the most.

The bustling camp had quieted as the evening settled over the Xianzhou Yaoqing’s temporary encampment. Lanterns cast warm, flickering light across the healer's tent, where Jiaoqiu meticulously ground herbs into a fine powder. His hair fell like a curtain over his shoulder, his eyes shut as always, yet his hands moved with precision. It was a familiar rhythm, one that steadied him in a world of chaos.

You had no such discipline.

"Jiaoqiuuuu," you cooed as you pushed aside the tent's flap, your voice light and teasing.

The healer paused, the pestle in his hand faltering for a fraction of a second. "Ah, you've returned. Was the day kind to you, or do you come with new injuries for me to mend?" His voice was smooth and calm, a balm in itself.

"I’m perfectly fine, thank you." You stepped closer, leaning over the low table where he worked. His sharp nose twitched at your proximity, and you caught the faintest flicker of his ear.

You smiled wickedly. "Are you avoiding me, Jiaoqiu?"

The foxian sighed, though it was a soft, indulgent sound. "Why would I avoid you? You are a loyal companion, and—"

"And you get all flustered when I’m around," you interrupted, reaching out with both hands. He twitched again, and you could feel his composure slipping. "Come here, let me see those ears."

"I’m quite busy—"

"Jiaoqiu," you said firmly, but your tone was laced with affection. Before he could retreat, you reached out and gently cupped one of his velvety ears between your fingers.

"Stop that," he muttered, his voice softer than intended.

"Why? You’re so cute," you crooned, running your fingers along the base of his ear. "My little fluffy fox, working so hard all the time."

"Do not—"

"My wittle baby foxie-poo," you continued, scratching lightly at the spot you knew made his tail swish.

Jiaoqiu’s eyes flickered open briefly, revealing their slit-like pupils as a sharp blush crept up his cheeks. "Enough!" he said, though the way his voice cracked at the end ruined the effect.

You gasped in mock horror, pulling back for just a moment. "You’re blushing!"

"I am not," he said quickly, though his hand darted up to shield his face.

"Oh, Jiaoqiu," you sighed dramatically, leaning closer. "Why must you be so shy? It’s just me. Your dearest companion, your most loyal friend…" You grinned. "The one who knows all your weaknesses."

"You are insufferable," he said, though his tone held no venom.

"Ah, but you love me for it," you teased, reaching for his ear again.

He made no move to stop you this time, though his ears flicked slightly under your touch. His tail swished behind him, betraying his embarrassment.

"I tolerate you," he muttered, though his shoulders had visibly relaxed under your ministrations.

You leaned closer, your voice dropping to a whisper. "You’re adorable when you’re flustered, you know that?"

Jiaoqiu groaned, resting his forehead in his hand. "Why do you torment me so?"

"Because," you said simply, ruffling his hair, "someone has to remind you that you’re more than just a healer and strategist. You’re still a person, Jiaoqiu. And you deserve to be pampered sometimes, even if it’s just me scratching your ears."

He fell silent for a moment, the tension in his frame melting under your gentle touch. When he finally spoke, his voice was softer. "You are…unreasonably kind."

"And you," you replied, smiling warmly, "are unreasonably cute when you blush."

This earned you another groan, but you didn’t miss the way his tail flicked just a little faster, a subtle sign that your teasing words had landed exactly as you’d hoped.

❥ A silent struggle. He tells himself it’s nothing, but the moment your fingers intertwine with his? Oh.

❥ He won’t pull away, but he will clear his throat and act very focused on whatever is in front of him.

Kisses (on the cheek, forehead, etc.):

❥ Immediate shutdown.

❥ If you kiss his cheek out of nowhere, he freezes, eyes widening slightly. If you step back and pretend like nothing happened, he’ll just stand there, completely flustered, trying to figure out if that really just happened.

❥ If you ever kiss his forehead? Congratulations, you have officially broken Diluc Ragnvindr. He is gone.

Secretly Desperate for It

❥ Diluc would never ask for affection, but the moment you give it to him, he craves it more than he’d like to admit.

❥ He doesn’t know how to express it, so he’ll just… linger. Stand near you, hesitate before pulling away from a hug, or—if he’s feeling particularly bold—initiate small touches when he thinks you won’t notice.

You lean against him after a long day:

It's unique, rolls off the tongue, suits him both in personality, story and physical look, and is in my opinion quite adorable, (and pretty perfect to use teasingly).

Having ran around all day, you could certainly admit following Link's pace was not an easy task. ‘I was just about to head back and get us some more materials. Do you need anything?' The hero signs with a focused look on his face.

“Woah woah,” you grab his arm before he can dart away again, chuckling at his surprised expression, “slow down, the world isn’t going to end if you take a break wildflower”. At first, he was speechless for a few seconds, almost frozen. Eventually, he turned his head away from your gaze, disguising his falter as a cough. Though if the small bit of red creeping on his pointed ears is anything to go by, he’s definitely feeling shy.

Nilly had an unfortunate run in with luck on trying to decipher some teasing. We did a couple of rolls just for fun, dice rolls like in dnd. The first three responses of which he rolled very, very low. Oblivious, dense as a rock, had no idea what was going on. He then rolled a nat 20.
