Kettles and Water – A Gooseneck Kettle for Pour-Over Perfection

For some, it's rather Zen, taking the time and attention to brew a perfect pour-over coffee. Be it with the Chemex system or the V60 from Japan; filtered coffees take practice and attention to detail. The key element is controlling water flow over the ground coffee to extract the perfect flavour and aroma.

A gooseneck kettle, allows for precision pouring. Your standard kitchen kettle is fine for making tea, but it's just not compatible for the accuracy and control of water flow needed for pour-over coffee.

The water temperature is also important - in general, you should aim for 205 degrees or about 30 seconds off the boil. The rule of thumb is a higher temperature for light roasts and a lower temperature for dark roasts.

m!a: however you like your coffee, they made it slightly wrong. omitted sugar, or added sugar, or made it decaf, something like that.

You didn't even notice it was caused by an anon at first. You sip at your coffee and notice it tastes like it's made by a child. Lightly brewed instead of your usual darkroast, with more sugar than you'd ask for- and you'll admit you have a sweet tooth sometimes. You immediately blame Ballista in the back of your head before opening up your phone, which gets sprayed with coffee you spit in shock. God DAMN it! Stupid forces that BE! You hurl the paper cup over your shoulder at a wall behind you, breathing heavily with frustration. It wasn't specifically the coffee itself that upset you but the idea that you are once again under a microscope.
