Who: Joella & @jazfields
When: March 23
Where: Downtown
Jo was starting to think that trying to have a pre-storm shopping run was a bad idea. Everyone was running around trying to grab supplies, and get home as soon as possible. "Oh!" she nearly ran into someone as she shuffled around the store, basket on her arm. She let out a soft yelp. "Are you okay?" she asked, stepping back to make sure the other person was alright and she didn't cause too much damage. "I think you dropped this," she said to Jasmine, picking up one of the packages that had fallen on the floor.

Who: Mandy Hartman & @jazfields
Where: Aster Playground
When: Hallo-week
Mandy pulled her hair into a messy bun as she nodded at Jaz. "So you wanna paint some pumpkins with me? A total different playing field than carving pumpkins which are already a challenge," she said with a hum. "Oh, and then eating lots of candy of course!" she grinned, wiggling her brows, then maybe we can get some spooky snacks after?

Who: Lara & @jazfields
What: Snowflake Gala
When: January 25, 2025
Lara was making her way across the room. The crowd had grown a bit, but it was the typical Merrock kind of crowd. Still, she had to be careful, but even as careful as she was sometimes she did bump into people. "Sorry!" she signed, holding her hand up in apology, realizing she had walked into someone. "Are you okay?" she asked, with an apologetic smile.

“It’s like the conclusion in the movie. So like reading the last pages of Gatsby when it’s the reflection the so-called dream,” he said. “They can guess from the context and the tone,” he smiled a bit. “Usually it doesn’t flat-out tell you. Some writers have placed the answer right in the middle and the story wraps back around. Those last lines in a book can sometimes be the most powerful.”
"If a book is telling you all that on its last page, it probably means it didn't do a good job with developing the story throughout. I think the way I approached it was more like, wanting to know the point we're getting to and trying to figure out how we get there." Jasmine shrugged. "But maybe I was doing too much for some story. Just as is life, I suppose."

It was the celebration of another day on Calista's Island. One she had alone, currently. Sometimes her adopted selves would come visit, but their lives were busy with work and... not so much, Thanks to one particularly pink Jub-Jub. But as she sips her Jasmine tea, Calista's ears twitch, feeling the fields around her home absorb something. Something large. Calista looks to where it would be and squints her eye. "Mmm."
With a dash, she skids across the top of the water, her eye on the plane. Or, what was left of it. A gasp escapes her lips as she sees someone fall and she ran faster, running to catch them before he fell on the ground.
Lauri opened his eye. He remembered sounds and blaring noises, then darkness. Yet as the prince woke up, he was surprised to see he was in a small room. He looked around carefully, calling out in a raspy voice, “Hello?”

First Lines
I'm not sure if this is the first line of the whole fic or the first line of the part I'm currently working on so...since I don't actually know the rules I'll just do whichever feels right for it Kay? Cool.
1) Ellie sat on a stool on the stage, a simple black dress shimmering under the light. She was supposed to sing some sad love song tonight but all she could think about was the death of Robin the Second. Looking at the crowd of Gotham Citizens she wondered if they even knew yet.
This one is still a draft but it's teenage singer Danielle in an dp×DC universe. The song that inspired the first chapter was actually a cover of the Beatles song Blackbird.
2) Sam wasn't related to her by blood, but Grandma Ida had always loved her for who she was. Sam would never truly worry about money, though she had spent most of her savings on her car and the apartment, because Grandma wouldn't let Sam go hungry or cold. A thousand dollars would be sent to Sam's bank account evey month, and had been since she was a baby.
The next chapter of Gotham's Black Rose is a bit of a struggle for me right now, it takes place after they've moved to Gotham, about them settling in and finding their footing in a new city, and Sam does some reflection on her relationship with her adopted Grandma.
3) "Father, Grandfather, Uncles," Danny greeted as he walked into the dinning room and sat down. The adults all looked at him, but Danny just smiled.
"Who let a kid in here?" - "Uncles?" - "Father?" - "Who are you?"
They all spoke at once but Danny waited for them to quiet down before he spoke up.
"Daniel Bertinelli, or Constantine if you check magical lineage, or Wayne if you ask for my mother's biological father's last name."
"I've got a kid?" The blond Constantine dropped his cigarette.
"...Helena Bertinelli is my daughter?" Bruce Wayne stared at the table as if the wood would make any of this easier.
The next part of The Fine Print where 'everyone' finds out they've had children they didn't know about.
4) Gotham was not a good city to be homeless in, Danny learned. It was cold at night, and rained at least once a week, and he never knew here he was going to sleep.
My Project R fic is not doing too well, I'm not sure why or what to do with it.
5) When Paulina imagined her Graduation from High School, she never would've pictured this for herself. She was Eighteen, turning Nineteen this summer. She thought she'd be dating Dash or Star, that she'd be taking photos and going out to dinner with either of them or maybe the cheer team would meet up.
Of course she never would've predicted Phantom. Couldn't have imagined Fenton. And you can't predict an unexpected baby. That's what makes them unexpected.
But here she was. Kneeling on the grass of the football field, blue Graduation gown the only thing protecting her JJ House designer dress from stains, and her heels starting to sink into the dirt.
"Grad-u-lates Pauli," Ellie said, carefully, with a toothy smile and her happy bright blue eyes. Her little arms went up, hands grabbing at the air. "Uppies?"
It's a Paulina/Danny raise baby Danielle in Gotham fic idk if it's going to go anywhere but I find it cute to think about.
6) Soul dreams were a safe place, at least they were usually. A neutral place where souls met to bring each other into their lives. How the soul dream took shape depended on who was asleep first, and was still asleep when the other joined them.
I hit a self doubt wall with my first soulmate fic, I wanted to analyze Jazz's sense of responsibility towards Danny and her tendency to treating him as a child even while acknowledging he's a teenager. I also wanted to analyze Dick's relationships with his own siblings once I picked him as Jazz's soulmate for this fic. I'm not sure if I should go back to my notes and try again or if I should give up on it entirely for a different soulmate fic.
7) I'm not sure if cleaning the Fenton house was a good idea anymore. Jasmine Fenton sat on the couch in front of me, her hands clasped together and a strange look on her face.
My self instert fic has hit a wall so hard I decided I am going to change it completely. I tried I struggled and I had no idea what I was doing. Here's the last I had for it as it is now though.
Okay! So there's my 7 current WIPs sorta. I haven't had the heart to actually remove anything from my list of projects even though I'm done trying to write for some of them. I did my best though! And I'm proud of what I learn every time I try something new.
I think I'm supposed to tag other people to play too so I guess I'll tag @faeriekit @im-totally-not-an-alien-2 @evandarya @spooky-fm @p0ssym1lker
Okay I'm not brave enough to tag more people in a silly game, maybe next time. I'd like to thank @weirdfishy for tagging me, sorry it took me so long to make play too! This was fun once I stopped over thinking it.

“That I won’t let the boat sink? Luckily, the water isn’t all that deep. So we’d be fine,” Bryan said with a shrug of his shoulders. “I’m actually pretty good on the water, though,” he grinned. Not like he’d ever handled a boat before. “And no chance of getting lost at sea.”
Jasmine raised a brow in Bryan's direction. "Maybe if you can give me something more convincing than that. I'm not trying to fall in just cause someone decides they're the one taking the lead."

Fighting Style:
Jessie has gotten her powers long before Danny did, so she was able to practice with them and later control them. After Danny got his powers, that's when Jessie showed her powers to him and the two became a ghost fighting team. She does her best to help teach him how to control his powers and teaches him how to fight by using Judo since Jessie learns how to fight in martial arts from her father. Jessie likes to kick and punch, but she finds kicking more powerful than punching. And because she is flexible, kicking is as easy as breathing. She also realized that her dancing can be used to fight her enemies and avoid their attacks, so because of this, she likes close combat than distance combat.
Backstory
Birth:
Jessie was born as the youngest child, and was raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Early Life:
Jessie's parents once owned a small ranch with animals such as cows, chickens, sheeps, goats, and horses. Jessie always loves horses for as long as she can remember, her father puts her in a saddle even before she learned how to walk. She loves riding horses so much to the point she even learns how to ride them with and without a horse saddle and reins. She used to watch wrestling with her father since she was 6 or 7 years old, so even though her mother disapproves of this, Jessie continues to watch wrestling shows with her father such as WWE.
Her father was once a judo expert trainer before he met Jessie's mother, who worked at a ranch her whole life, but still found a job at a local office, so he taught Jessie and her sisters how to fight and defend themselves at a young age. Even though the era of Greasers has ended, there are some descendants of the greasers who loves to dress up in clothing like their ancestors, Jessie just so happens to run into a group of them while playing in the park with her family one summer afternoon. Luckly the gang she met are good and begins to hang out with them.
Middle School:
Because of her hanging out with the greasers' descendants, she begins to dress up like them too and had certain rules of the greasers that was appropriate for her and her friends to follow as they grew together as they watched wrestling and like doing sports, even joining some school sports clubs, one of them is a wrestling club which Jessie joined. When she was attending middle school, they attend to the class field trip to a lab that is own by a team of scientists called the Guys in White. Jessie wasn't very excited about it, knowing it'll bored her out of her mind, but little did she know, it was about to change her life forever.
During the tour, Jessie decided to go to the restroom during lunch, but ended up getting lost when she was done, she stumbles upon one of the portals and being born with autism, she got curious and decided to step a little closer to the ghost portal. Unfortunately, one of the employees didn't know she was there when they activated the portal to test it. It caught Jessie by surprise, and before she even had a chance to get away from the portal, the portal testing failed as an exposed circuitry gave her a strong electric shock. She screamed in pain as she was flown back out and landed on her back on the ground, away from the portal. The last thing she heard was her friends calling out her name as she heard footsteps running towards her before she went unconscious.
She woke up in the hospital a day later, and after her awakening, her parents and the school sue the GiW for being careless about a middle schooler getting injured and won the case, causing the GiW to pack up and leave Tulsa. After being clear to leave the hospital a few days later, Jessie discovered that she felt more energetic and as time went on, she discovered she began to have strange powers. They were limited at first which is why Jessie never put much thought into it, such as floating for a short time or making her limbs disappear.
But as she grew older, these powers began to get more prominent, and it was harder for her to keep them under control. Because of this, Jessie had to leave the wrestling club in fear she'll accidentally hurt someone and made up a half lie about wanting to focus more on her classes. Her family and friends noticed something was wrong with her, and Jessie finally admits to them the reason why. One of her best friends, Tatiana, did some research and found out Jessie had gotten ghost powers from the accident, much to their shock. Because of this, Jessie's family and her friends all promised to Jessie that they wouldn’t tell anyone, and with their help, Jessie decided to learn to control her powers, so she wouldn't be found out about them.
However, tragedy stuck in her life when her father became ill with stage 4 kidney cancer, he tried his best to fight back the cancer, but he ended up passing away peacefully in his sleep. It devastated Jessie and her family. What's worse, her mother announced they were moving to a different state due to her losing her job after the building she was working at was caught on fire and destroyed. Jessie didn't want to move away from the life she loves, especially because she doesn't want to leave her friends and all her animals will be sold.
Luckly, one of her aunts and uncles manages to get her mother a new job from the state they were moving to, and since they live in the outskirts of the town she's moving to, all the animals will be sent to live with them instead. Jessie told her gang about the news and while they are sad about her leaving, they all decided to hang out together and throw a party to spend time together one last time. The next day, Jessie says goodbye to her friends after they gave each other their phone numbers, and she left with her mother and sisters to their new home.
High School:
Jessie and her family soon arrived in a town called Amity Park, and Jessie was already homesick, missing her best friends. Jessie spent the first few nights sulking in her new room, unable to get used to the urban atmosphere of her new home. By the time she starts attending high school, Casper High, she immediately caught everyone's attention due to how she was dressed and for her natural beauty. All the boys were smitten by her looks while all the girls were jealous of her, causing Jessie to feel very uncomfortable since she wasn't used to getting all the attention to herself.
Because of this, she was constantly picked on by the popular girls who were jealous of her for getting the attention and wanting her to feel insecure. Jessie, of course, taught by her old friends about some rules of the greasers with their own rules of their gang, fought back until Sam Manson stood up for her. Jessie was very grateful for this, and was later introduced to Sam’s best friends, Danny and Tucker. She was welcomed and fit right into the group with ease, and she was happy she finally made some friends. However, she soon found out that Danny’s parents were ghost hunters, she tried to avoid and stay away from his parents as far away as possible in fear they'll do something to her if they found out her secret.
At some point, Jessie was 100% comfortable around her three friends, although, she never told them her secret. It wasn't until Danny had a lab accident with his parents' ghost portal and gain his own ghost powers. Not too long after the accident, Jessie finally told her friends about her powers. Of course, they were shocked, but they all promise to keep it a secret, and Danny and Jessie worked together to fight the baddies who came out of the now active Fenton Portal as Danny Phantom and Jessie Shadow, although she did manage to befriend some ghosts just for being herself. As time went on, Jessie began to realize that she has a crush on Danny, and it grew stronger as she spends more time with him, she wants to tell him how she feels, but was scared that she might ruin their friendship, so she never said anything. But she does show signs of jealousy when another girl flirts with him, but she tries her best to hide it.
Jessie then noticed Sam begins to have a crush on him too, she didn't want to fight with Sam and lose her friend over a boy, so they both agreed that they would let Danny decide. When Danny gave up his powers, Jessie was disappointed but supported his decision regardless. She caught Sam later rant at Danny about giving up his powers, Jessie hates the way Sam yelled at Danny and feel offended that Sam acted like Danny is the only half ghost that existed besides Vlad. So, when Sam came back inside, Jessie begins to yell at her for what she said to Danny and told her that she still has her ghost powers and was offending at what Sam said earlier, before leaves to go outside to comfort Danny.
In the South Pole, Jessie finds Sam alone with Danny and was surprised to see that Danny walked away from Sam and heading towards her. In the end, Danny fell for Jessie's kind and caring nature and how she was always there for him thick and thin, he didn't care that she has a level 8 autism or that she likes to dress up as a female greaser from the 1950's and 60's. He proved it to her by kissing her that day. Sam was a bit upset that Danny didn’t choose her yet felt happy for both of them.
After Danny and Jessie saved the Earth from the Disasteriod, everything became a paradise for her, Jessie was surprised that Danny started to dress up like a male greaser since Jessie was starting to rub off on him, but she didn't mind. However, in her sophomore year, Jessie learned from a frustrated Sam who snapped at her of how jealous she was over her relationship with Danny after Sam got tired of hearing all the dates she went on with Danny, and how sweet he is with the gifts he got for her and vice versa. Jessie became annoyed at this and questions Sam if she really does love Danny for who he is just like she does, or if she only loves him because of his powers, just like Paulina and the rest of the girls in town and school does.
This triggers Sam into fighting her, which was hauled by one of the teachers and led Sam being suspended since Jessie was avoiding her attacks thanks to her ghost powers. When Tucker saw this and told Danny what happened, he tells Sam that even though he doesn't appreciate her fighting Jessie over his relationship with her, Sam will always have a special place in his heart, and the two girls remain friends, as well as Sam finally moving on from her crush on Danny.
Collage Life:
Jessie and Danny continued to fight ghosts while spending time together on dates, although this became hard for them to go out in public due to their popularity. When they got to senior year, Jessie doesn't know what career she wants when she goes to college, so when she told Danny, Sam and Tucker about this, Danny suggested she should get a career as a singer since she loves to sing.
Jessie was a little hesitant at first but then remembers that she overcame her stage fright after the incident with Ember Mclain and knew she can't become a wrestler since she's not as interested in wrestling anymore as she used to, and fearing she'll accidentally hurt someone if her powers somehow lost control, she thinks that a singing career might be a better choice instead.
Especially seeing how Amity Park doesn't have many ghost attacks as of late and seeing her boyfriend and her friends being supportive, she agrees with the idea. So, after graduation, she told her mother and sisters about what career she actually wants, they accepted her decision. Jessie and her friends and boyfriend all went to the same college together and she chose classes that involves music, singing and dancing.
It was hard for her to hang out with her boyfriend and her friends, but she still manages to make some time to see them while focusing on her studies. To practice more on her singing, she decided to create a music channel and recorded covers of her favorite songs and posted them online and soon gained internet fame. By her second year, she did less covers and began writing and performing her own songs with the help of Danny, Sam and Tucker.
Jessie soon gains the attention of producers of different music companies, and she became nervous as she didn't know what do to, but Danny encouraged her to choose the best one to help her, and so she did and was very excited although wanted to keep her schooling in check and worked on and off with the record company until the following summer, when she released her first single. Her popularity grew even more, her name becoming well known in the city and later around the world. She held off performances until later in her fourth year. She worked on her first album through the year, finally releasing it and having a small tour during spring break.
Of course, she somehow still manages to make time to spend it with her family, her friends and of course, her boyfriend, Danny. She missed spending time with him as he missed her since she was busy with her singing career, and the ghost couple spend their days going on dates or just hanging out in their apartment, cuddling and watching movies or tv shows. There were even talks about them wanting to get married one day, and so, on the day of their college graduation, Danny proposes to her, to which she happily accepts.
Adult Life:
After college, Jessie returned to Amity Park with Danny, Sam and Tucker. Between songwriting and recording, Danny and Jessie planned out their wedding and got married a year later. Soon after, Jessie found out she was pregnant and brought their first-born son into the world, Dallas Jackson Fenton, or Dally for short. Juggling motherhood, fame, and integrating her spare time into the booming business of FentonWorks proved to be tough. She managed to keep her life in balance even if it were by mere threats at some moments. The battles eased up as Danny and his parents worked on ways to add extra security to the portal, even though it worked half the time.
Her fame grew more with time. She was cranking out a new album every year and went on tour during the summer months. Later, she gave birth to their second child, a daughter name Larissa. With managing two kids now, her singing career slowed down as she focused on being a full-time mom for a while. When the kids grew older and became more independent, she began to write and perform again, although not as much as before. With a lot of money stored in the bank at this point, Jessie managed to give herself and her family a comfortable life as she and Danny raised their two kids who both inherited their powers with love and support, but not spoiling them. They watched as their kids follow their footsteps of becoming heroes as Dally Phantom and Lari Shadow.
Appearance:
Jessie is a young Mexican American girl with fair skin, long brown hair and dark brown eyes. She has her hair tied up in a high ponytail with bangs. She also wears a natural smokey eyeshadow, black eyeliner, black mascara, and nude lipstick. She wears a white crop-top with a black leather jacket, a sterling silver decagem pendant long necklace, a timex women's easy reader black and silver leather strap wristwatch on her left wrist, light blue jean ripped pants with a black leather belt and a pair of brown leather cowboy boots embossed with red flames running up the sides and decorated with yellow shooting stars. When she becomes furious, her eyes sometimes flash neon yellow even while in human form.
When she transforms into Jessie Shadow, her hair becomes platinum blonde and braided into a single messy braid, her eyes become glowing neon yellow, her skin becomes tanned, and a faint white glow surrounds her whole body. In this form, her makeup changed, she doesn't have eyeshadow or eyeliner, but still wears black mascara and wears nude pink lipstick. She wears a black shirt and pants set that reveals her midriff with a grey collar, grey belt, and grey elbow high gloves, and grey boots that looks identical as the boots she wears in her human form, except they have no design on them. After "Memory Blank", she wears her logo, a swift gray "J" with an "S" next to it on her chest. Her voice becomes slightly but noticeably resonant as well.

• During her ghost battles, Jessie does use a little bit of her wrestling moves she learned from her old wrestling club in middle school. Even some wrestling moves from some WWE wrestlers she watched growing up.

The level of her disability is 8, which allows her to read and write just fine, but due to her inability to speak to people by herself, she still requires special help and education from the schools she attends, including Casper High. The only ones who knew about her disability are her family and her old gang. Danny, Sam and Tucker learn about her disability later on after befriending her and before Danny got his powers, so they speak up and talk for her when they see she was having a hard time talking to people by herself from time to time.

Astrology as a Historical and Cultural Phenomenon

Astrology's roots can be traced back to the systematic investigation of the heavens, time measurement, and events association. These occur at the same time, not one after another. The ancient guy took a deeper look around him and saw consistent patterns.
The daily and nightly cycles preceded the yearly and seasonal cycles. The significance of this pattern gradually dawned on him, and he began to take advantage of it. Food storage for the winter and water storage for the wetter months are examples. The man's focus gradually shifted to the stars, and he began to make connections between events on Earth and those in the cosmos.
Astrology's Function in the 21st Century
The importance of astrology in Indian culture dates back centuries. What one should do and when one should do it to avoid or escape a difficult situation in life is context-dependent; speak to astrologers to know this. We have historical records to examine, our forefathers had access to the Vedas, and we may soon learn that there's a whole school devoted to the study of astrology. The list of fields widely acknowledged as crucial to the writing process now includes astrology. Numerous disciplines within astrology have provided us with forecasts of the future. Reading them is the only way we can make sense of their calculations; online astrologers can help with it. . Understanding their phenomenon is the only way we can educate others about astrology, fruits, and the future. The procedure is not easy. To accomplish our goal, in-depth knowledge of the topic is required.
The Question of Astrology's Mysteries and Validity
As astrology is based on the precise positioning of the planets and stars at the moment of birth, the results of this ancient event provide insight into the reliability of astrological predictions. The current placement and future trajectory of a person's planet can tell much about that person's life; an astrologer in India will help you with it. Based on your current planetary alignment, you can also find out which planets may pose obstacles in the future. The jaimini approach is another way to learn astrology.
Laying the foundation:
Maharishi Jaimini's astrology is vastly different from that of Maharshi Parashar. In Parashari astrology, the Dasha is calculated using the positions of the constellations. However, nakshatras are not taken into account in Jaimini astrology. In this context, zodiac signs are used exclusively for astrological interpretation. Jaimini also points out that there is more than one condition present. Dasha, constant Dasha, pada Dasha, navamsha Dasha, etc., are the forms most commonly encountered in everyday conversation. One of the most well-liked substitutions is the enumerable dash. The Chara Dasha will be described for the first time below. Char Dasha refers to the significant dasha in the Jaimini calendar. Speak to an astrologer online for more information.
During this dasha, you'll learn about the Jaimini karaka, fixed elements, zodiac sign aspects, Dasha karma, Dasha karma duration, jasmine yoga, karakas Lagna, pada or arudh Lagna, upapada Lagna, etc.
In Jaimini Astrology, it is essential to accurately calculate all the planetary degrees, arts, villas, etc.
To do this, make a table with the degrees of the seven planets ordered from lowest to highest (descending order). A planet's value will define its arrival time if the number of degrees and phases it goes through is the same.
When building a table, the planet with the highest degree would be placed at the very top. Then the planet with the next lowest degree should be written, and so on for the remaining planets.
Palmistry, numerology, Vaastu shastra, face reading, and so on are just a few of the numerous facets of astrology that can be used to gain insight into a person's personality and trajectory in life. Their facial structure can discern an individual's character and life path. Each person's unique combination of facial features—including their nose, chin, eyes, eyebrows, lips, mouth, and so on—gives clues about their personality and life experiences. Astrologers online can guide you.
A face cut's circular shape indicates a person's emotional state.
They have soft hearts and are easily persuaded.
Dedication to one's work is often reflected in an oval face and a healthy body.
Someone with a triangle body shape is likely to be highly creative and have a fiery disposition.
The Squire's dominant and analytical personality is suitable for their imposing appearance.
Leaders with square faces have a strong feeling of duty and authority, in addition to being humble and trustworthy.
Like the rest of the face, an aged nose can reveal a lot about a person's resolve and capacity for independence.
Conclusion
Astrology aims to aid people by warning them of potential challenges and giving them tools to prepare for them.
Throughout Indian culture and daily life, astrology plays a significant role. We conferred with pandits to determine the most promising times of day for important life events like weddings and house moves.

Yeah, that’s exactly what I was thinking too. But you don’t seem like an amateur so I think you’ll be fine. Oh, trust me, if you knew my family, you’d know about the loud chaotic madness that happens in a snap. That’s why my specialty is stuffing. And cranberry sauce.
Of the like, three things I know about F.R.I.E.N.D.S, I feel like unlike whatsherface I would know when a recipe seems off. You say it’s easy but you’re also not dealing with the Fields fam and their particulars.

Trust me, it took me by surprise too. Considering all these kids were born in the 2000s, they technically aren’t wrong either though.
To them I probably am 2000 years old. The math is in there somewhere. Kids are crafty. They have siblings, the internet, the references are everywhere if they know where to look. Part of me is impressed by the reference though.
If someone ever made a comment to me about 'being from the nineteen-hundreds...'
Gandalf is such a weird reference though. They're either calling you 2000 years old or old enough to know what LoTR is - unless I'm missing out on some cultural resurgence of the franchise/world/whatever you want to call it.

Part Three - 375 Days Later

@the-lonelybarricade I hope you like this chapter! We’re almost done... 👀 warnings: a little angst, slight steam word count: ~3.8k
After only two years, Feyre’s birthday tradition nearly fell apart. She had no one to blame but herself, no one to go to but her best friend, who would no doubt go above and beyond to make it work. But that was just the issue, because if she ever wanted to have a shot at the one thing that brought light into her otherwise dim life, there was no way she could be so reliant. She made a vow to never do that again. But Feyre pulled on her big-girl-britches, grabbed her phone, and faced the truth: She couldn’t afford a hotel room. She could barely afford a train ticket.
Her friend had been more than happy to lend a hand; or, in this case, a spare room.
The sky was crystal clear when Feyre arrived at Velaris Station, but the violet eyes that met her outshone even the sun burning above them. When she ran and leapt at Rhys, he was ready to catch her, clinging tight.
The soothing scent of jasmine consumed her senses. She tucked herself tighter into his embrace when her chin began to wobble. As if Rhys could read her mind, he rubbed his hand along her back, mumbling low in her ear.
“Feyre darling, you know it’ll be okay. You’ll get your shop when it’s the right time.” She released a shuddering sigh and pulled back, her tears quickly dissipating. “I know,” She huffed. “It’s just frustrating. And I’m very impatient.”
“Whatever is meant to happen will happen,” He held her by the shoulders and didn’t break eye contact. “I truly believe that.”
Her gaze wandered from his to the scenery over his shoulder. Rhys may have believed it, but Feyre didn’t. The rest of her future was practically written out in the form of a legal document, signed off by the universe itself. She’d keep working three low-income jobs that had nothing to do with her interests, she’d continue drooling over jobs in her field in cities she could never afford, and she’d never end up beside the person she wanted to be with. The life she desired was way out of her league - perhaps something most people could relate to on a certain level.
She pulled her gaze from the glowing mountains and the warm station lights. “Shall we? We don’t want to keep your mom waiting.”
Rhys drove slowly through the snow; his hands remained on the wheel at two and ten o’clock and he never once took his attention away from the road. Feyre took the opportunity to ‘discreetly’ stare.
In the blink of an eye, they had stopped by Rhys’ townhouse - where Feyre would be staying - to drop her things off, and then pulled into the driveway of his family’s home.
Zyra greeted them both with warm hugs and kisses on each cheek.
“Here you go” Feyre pulled the glass loaf pan from her bag, giving her hands something to do. “I- I made this. It’s my sister’s recipe for lavender tea bread, she let me borrow it. I hope it’s okay - I’m not usually that good in the kitchen but I think it turned out pretty well.” She bit her lip before she could continue her nervous ramble. Something she had looked forward to was now antagonizing the knot of anxiety in her gut.
“That sounds delightful! Thank you, sweetie.” She reached up to pat Feyre’s cheek. “I’ll slice some up for us, you go sit down. Tea and soup is already on the table.”
After they had all settled in a cozy breakfast nook, a loud, high-pitched gasp interrupted their conversation.
A young girl stood at the base of the stairs, a carbon copy of Zyra. “Are you Feyre?” She dashed over and began bouncing on her toes before them.
Feyre put her hand out. “Yes, that’s me. You must be Rhys’ sister? Thalassa? I’ve heard a lot about you.” Feyre couldn’t help but smile at the exuberance of the young woman. In another world, maybe Feyre would have been much the same. In another world, maybe a life like this wouldn’t be some pipe dream. In another world, maybe she would have a shot at lasting happiness.
The girl squealed. “He has? Awww, Rhysie.” She clasped her hands beside her face and kicked one leg out with a little hop. She was… very expressive, Feyre was coming to learn. “Don’t worry,” Just like that, her attention was back on Feyre. “He talks a lot about you too. He thinks you’re really hot.” Feyre’s neck grew warm, she felt the flush creep up her cheeks and across her nose. She couldn’t stop herself from letting the pain worm its way in the tiniest bit. The very thing she wanted, but could never have. It just wasn’t the way her world worked.
“Thalassa!” Their mother was having none of it, apparently. “Respect! Be thoughtful of everyone!”
She had the decency to look sheepish as she apologized, though Feyre could tell it didn’t reach her eyes. She fought off a smile as she realized Rhys was right; she would get along with his sister very well.
It was some time later, after Thala left to hang out with her friends (stealing many slices of lavender bread when she thought no one was looking), that Rhys made her open a late birthday gift.
“My birthday was over a week ago,” She argued. “I can’t accept this.”
“Darling, didn’t you ever learn that it’s rude to turn down a gift?” He wasn’t wrong. And with his mother watching, Feyre was left with no choice but to open it.
She really wished she hadn’t.
“Rhysand…” Her throat closed. The world was a blur around her. She didn’t even notice Zyra refill her teacup or the words she murmured. “I can’t. I appreciate it so much, but I can’t.”
The box, thin and long, held slippery moonlight and diamond stars. It slid through her hands like molten silver, sticking to calluses and hangnails as gravity pulled it from her. The dress she had fallen in love with on her first visit caught the afternoon light and glowed brighter than the North Star. The glare shone in her eyes, taunting.
“Well, as luck would have it, you will most certainly need it for tonight’s ‘better-than-fireworks’ display.”
“Sweetie, please take it. That dress was sitting in my store for ages, and I just don’t know what else to do with it.” The wink she gave Feyre didn’t make her feel much better. She had never received such a thoughtful, valuable gift. She had never had such an easy, peaceful morning. It made her nostalgic for something she’d never had.
She opened her mouth. For words or tears, she wasn’t sure. She loved it. Feyre wasn’t sure if there were words to express how grateful she was, how thoughtful they were.
“Thank you,” was all she ended up saying.
“Go try it on. I may still need to alter it before tonight.” Zyra shooed her off to the bathroom, and that was that.
***
The look on Feyre’s face had not been what Rhys was hoping for.
“Ma, let me do that.” Rhys stood from the table, taking over his mother’s spot at the sink. “Hot water will dry your skin, especially with the cold weather.” And it gave him something other to do than overthink the situation.
“You worry too much, Rhysie.” But still, she rubbed lotion into her skin immediately after drying her hands. “She loves the gift very much, sweetheart.”
He shrugged. “Who could say?”
“Rhysie,” She reached over and turned the tap off, gently nudging him to face her. “When people are not treated with the kindness they deserve, or when someone is raised in a less than loving home, it can be difficult for them to adjust. They may not know how to react when kindness is finally, intentionally, directed at them.” She patted his shoulder, smoothing a wrinkle in his shirt. “I know that because I lived it, because I’ve seen it in your cousin and your brothers and customers at the shop. The way our Feyre looks at you tells me there is not a single person in this world that means more to her than you. Even if she doesn’t like the dress itself, the thought you put into it means the world to her.” She kissed his cheek. “Patience.”
Right as his mother stepped away, taking with her her scent of Aveeno and cardamom, Feyre timidly stepped into view.
Rhys was pretty sure his jaw dropped, but he couldn’t say. He was a little preoccupied.
The beading shimmered in the setting sun filtering through the window, the skirt flared at the perfect height. The illusion neckline made Feyre’s skin appear as if she had gone swimming through stardust, and the pale blue made her eyes stand out even more.
She looked truly magnificent, but in the end it was her smile which took his breath away.
“Feyre darling,” He slung the dish towel over his shoulder. “You look-”
“Rhys it’s perfect.” the words spilled out in a rush. “I’m sorry if I seemed ungrateful, but I love it. I love your gift. Thank you for thinking of me.”
His mother -now nowhere to be seen - had been right, as she was about everything. The thought, mixed with Feyre’s reaction, brought a smile to his face. “Well, I’m very glad you like it, because it is perfect for our better-than-fireworks display.”
***
Feyre was regretting not bringing a nicer coat. The winter air seeped into her skin like water, chilling her to the very marrow of her bones. Restaurants ran industrial heaters along sidewalks, vendors sold hot drinks, and some tourists had come prepared with hand warmers and ski gear. Sure, they looked funny, but Feyre figured they weren’t freezing their heinies off. She couldn’t stop her teeth from chattering; if her lips had turned blue when they were ice skating last year, she couldn’t imagine what she looked like right then.
“Come here.” Rhys whispered to her, tugging her closer to him. He opened his coat up to her, and Feyre nestled into his chest, even slipping her arms along his. Rhys’ coat was large enough, and Feyre was small enough, that he was still able to zip it up over both of them. “Better?” His smile shone brighter than the moon.
Feyre laughed, jittery from the cold. “Much. Thank you.”
She still didn’t know what she was waiting for, just that it was better viewed outside. Just as Feyre was about to ask Rhys, the world went quiet.
And one by one, block by block, the city lights went out. Anticipation was palpable in the air. Five minutes passed. Then ten. After thirty, the children in the crowd began to grow restless, and more than one snowball fight broke out. There were shouts and cheers and laughs. Feyre heard it as if it were a whole lifetime away, so focused on Rhys’ warmth, his smile that glowed in the pitch black, the rumble of his chest reverberating through her as he laughed against her back.
“Ready?” He leaned down and whispered in her ear. “Any minute…” Still, she kept her eyes on him until he whispered, “There.”
“What…” Cheers erupted all around them. They echoed through the city and bounced off the mountains. It was an avalanche of joyous shouting, squeals of delight, gasps of reverent wonder.
And up above them, in the sky where stars shone brighter than she’s ever seen in her life, were dozens of shooting stars. It was like a switch had been flicked, and more and more flew by every second. Blurs of silver and flashes of blue, some nearly the same color as Rhys’ eyes.
Feyre’s hand itched for a paintbrush. She shut her eyes, picturing the colors.
Blue…
Violet.
White…
Violet.
Black…
Violet.
Feyre’s eyes snapped open. Rhys still held her bundled close to his chest, warm and safe in the shared coat. She stuffed her arms further down the sleeves and scrunched them up to her wrists - Rhys’ forearms. Fumbling with her phone camera, she took a few snapshots of the sky. His hands flopped around like a puppet, as if Feyre were the only thing controlling him.
He chuckled. “Feyre darling, wouldn’t it be easier if I let you out?”
“Well…” She didn’t want to leave his warmth. “Maybe. Maybe not.” She said indignantly, but still slipped out when Rhys undid the front, not taking her eyes off the sky.
“What is this, Rhys?”
“It’s Starfall. It happens every night of New Year’s Eve and lasts well into the morning.” He leaned closer and lowered his voice. “So what do you think? Better than fireworks?”
She nodded, the gesture small but certain. “Better than fireworks.”
Children laughed and played, running around the dim sidewalks and weaving between the crowd. Snowballs flew through the air, blurs of white in the dark resembling the stars above. Feyre took picture after picture, but she knew none of them could ever do the sight justice.
She turned back to Rhys to say as much when something cold and wet hit her across the nose. Ice scraped her skin, the cold numbing it only a second later.
“Oops!” A child shouted, then turned and ran.
Feyre gasped from the shock, and the cold, before laughing quietly as she wiped it off.
“Ooh, yikes.” Rhys stepped forward, “Looks like you missed a spot.” With that, he rubbed another handful of snow across her cheeks.
“Hey!” She couldn’t help but laugh, though. His smile was intoxicating, and he got what was coming to him a second later. A snowball burst apart as it hit his temple, scattering across the both of them.
“Sorry!” A teenage girl looked sheepish before escaping into the throng.
His expression was so… un-Rhys-like with his disgust at such wet, bitter cold, that Feyre could only laugh. It was loud, genuine, and full, and Rhys’ returning smile was more than enough to warm her from head to toe.
She snapped a picture, then stuffed her numb hands into his coat pockets, giving a charming smile as she did so.
“Should we escape the danger zone, Feyre darling?” He leaned in closer so she could hear over the crowd. “The view from my place is magnificent, in case you needed a recommendation.”
“Hmm, I think that sounds wonderful.” She untucked one frozen hand from his pocket, he wiped the leftover snow from her face with the sleeve of his wool coat.
As they strolled towards a calmer part of the city, watching the stars the entire way, notes of music found its way to them. It drifted between buildings and flowed along the river to swirl around and fully encompass the two.
Feyre closed her eyes; the melody was so soothing, the instruments so soft and smooth, that she could have stood for hours in the cold to just listen. She could have the tune on an endless loop and never grow tired of it. Something stirred within her, something she hadn’t felt in so long; it was a sort of hollowness, but not the hollowness that had plagued her nearly her entire life. Not the hollowness that made her too weak to get out of bed or too tired to imagine working another day.
It was more… not so much hollow, but open. Clear. Her heart didn’t feel heavy like it had nearly her entire life, and her mind was finally, wholly, clear. The things she so desperately wanted suddenly did not seem so unattainable.
Feyre realized she had stopped walking, and was simply staring at Rhys. She cleared her throat. “Will you dance with me?”
“Of course, Feyre.” His concern smoothed into something softer. “I will always dance with you.”
Feyre smiled.
It began as a slow swaying. Eventually, their sway leaked into something faster, something pushing and pulling, twirling them around with the crescendos of the music. It carried them down the street and further away from the center of the city. They didn’t stop until the distant one-minute countdown to the new year rang through the air; by then they were nearly to Rhys’ townhouse.
“Have I ever told you how beautiful your smile is, Feyre?” They were both out of breath, but at least the cold did not nip the way it had earlier that night.
She opened her mouth to answer, then closed it. What did she say to that? How was she supposed to handle this? The new clarity of her mind clued her in on a revelation she did not want to face. She knew it made her a coward, but she wasn’t in a position where she could easily handle this.
The countdown continued, and she pulled away when they reached the front stoop, letting Rhys unlock the door for them.
“I should go to bed. My train leaves early.” Her hands were the last to let go. “Thank you, Rhys. For everything. Tonight was…” She swallowed past the sudden lump in her throat, choked down the sadness that got worse with every year she had to leave. “Tonight was the best of my entire life.”
“Feyre,” Gently, he grabbed her shoulder. There was no ‘darling’ attached, and it made her name sound harsh. “Please wait. Are you really leaving again?”
Twenty-five, twenty-four, twenty-three…
“I need to go, Rhys.” With the stars streaking by as the only light in the city, his eyes seemed even more vivid. Seeing it as she walked away made that heavy feeling return. “Just letting you know... I might not visit next year. I’m not sure yet.”
Her shoes were soaked as she turned to the door of her guest room.
“‘You might not visit?’” His voice was exasperated, even if his eyes shone with tears. “Feyre, I don’t understand you.”
Those words. Those words she had heard from everyone she had ever tried to love. Her mother. Feyre, I don’t understand why you can’t be more like your sisters. Her ex. Feyre, I don’t understand why you can’t just be normal. Her sisters. Feyre, we just don’t understand the choices you’ve made.
She hugged her arms tight around her torso, warding off the icy mountain air as best she could. The problem was, the cold started in her heart.
“What do you mean?” The words came out a choked gasp, like she had been punched in the gut.
“One moment we’re sharing a coat, dancing in the street, waiting for the new year, doing things people do when they’re in love. The next, you’re pulling away, deluding yourself into believing you’ll easily go back home to a job you hate, in a town you hate, around people who haven’t always valued you the way you deserve.” His voice grew louder as he approached, eventually nudging her to turn around and face him. “I don’t understand how you can do that to yourself. How you can keep doing it. It’s not healthy, three hundred and sixty five days is too long.” He brushed wisps of hair from her forehead. “You deserve better.”
Fifteen, fourteen, thirteen, twelve…
Rhys’ words dislodged the lump in her throat.
She took a deep breath and forged ahead. “That's all I’ve ever been able to do, Rhys. Not everyone has loving families and comfortable bank accounts like you. I’ll probably never be able to do anything else. It’s true, I’m never as happy as I am when I’m here,” Feyre couldn’t imagine ever being miserable with Rhys at her side. “But I doubt my life will ever be good enough to let the future I want - here, with you - to come to pass. So it’s easier to stick with what I’ve always done.” Her face crumpled. “I know it’s selfish, but I don’t want to keep what I can’t have more of.”
Fat tears rolled down her cheeks, and Feyre half expected them to freeze; her heart felt so, so cold. Rhys brushed them away before they had the chance.
“Feyre,” His voice was so soft. So different from the arrogant man she first met. “I’m in love with you.” More tears escaped, and she let her forehead rest against his shoulder. “Let me help you get to where you want to be.” His breath tickled her ear, his lips brushed her skin, his hand cradled her head.
Feyre didn’t say anything, just nodded her head - rubbing her cheek against his sweater. When she looked up, ice-blue met violet. In their embrace, black wool merged into pale, shimmering chiffon.
Four, three, two…
They did not miss their cue.
His hands held her close, one tangling itself in her hair and the other resting at the small of her back. She stood on her toes, stretched as far as she could go just to meet him halfway. Their breaths mingled, and the scent of jasmine was a comforting surrounding.
They chose Rhys’ bedroom.
When they fell against the mattress, Feyre couldn’t believe she had been so close to giving it up, giving him up. A part of her protested - knew it would do no good to bring them closer, to give into the sparks just to douse them after the fact.
Nevertheless, her hand gripped onto his, promising she would never let go, and he squeezed back. His mouth brushed against hers, asking her softly what she wanted, and when she told him, he gave it to her.
In that moment, Feyre wasn’t thinking about leaving in the morning. She wasn’t thinking about her miserable jobs back home, or the pain in her heart that had followed her everywhere but Velaris. None of it existed in that moment. The only real thing was her name, feverish on his lips. His breath, warm against her bare skin. The heat of their intertwined bodies, chasing away the cold air between them and brightening the dark with sparks of light.
Outside, silver foil stars danced with dewy glass flakes. Pine forests sang with the wind, their voices gruff as their skin and needles. Dogs barked and bounced through the snow, birds huddled down in their nests. The air was so icy it grew teeth of its own, biting necks and nipping at heels of late night partygoers. But indoors, there was peace, comfort; they kept each other warm late into the night.

In the morning, Rhys did not stir when Feyre slipped from the bed, clad in one of his dark sweaters and a pair of wool socks. He did not roll over when she sat on his edge of the bed, and he did not so much as twitch when she placed a gentle kiss on his cheek. But when he woke to a cold bed, a stolen sweater, and a raging blizzard beyond his bedroom window, there were no words to describe the crushing ache in his heart. There was only one thing left for him, and that was a letter which read: You were right. 365 days are too many, even if the best things are seasonal. I’m sorry.
Anxiety hijacked her body as her train departed the station once again. Her hands shook, her heart hammered. She tried to make a list, but it came out as chicken scratch. Not at all the steady hand that had created so much art.
She hoped he could forgive her.

“The ghost island”
A Danny Phantom fanfic.
Note: First Danny Phantom fiction ever. I really can not say how bad or not I had these characters. Credit to:
Beta by Clydeside on AO3. (@clyde-side). Based/inspired on two fanarts/ideas: Full Moon by @the-random-phan on tumblr. Silly reveal scenarios by @bctoastyyy on tumblr. Summary: The class goes on a field trip but things don't go to plan. Winding up on a deserted island sounds just like Danny's sort of luck. Also on: DA || ff.net || AO3 || Facebook Version en español
It wasn’t supposed to be like this. They weren’t supposed to be in this boat going to that island in the distance. It all started about a week or two weeks ago, with the field trip permission form. Daniel Fenton/Phantom aka Danny, had tried and failed to get out of it. He never liked to leave Amity Park. The ghosts were there, he needed to protect it. A field trip to one of the islands on lake Michigan was not where he wanted to go. But when not even his sister could give him an excuse for it, his parents signed the permission form without even thinking about it. Danny was going, no exceptions. After Danny found out that he couldn’t get out of it; a plan was made. It was simple: he would go, but he would also lock the portal with a code that his parents wouldn't be able to figure out until he was back. Then his sister Jasmine Fenton, also better known as Jazz, would check on it to make sure. Jazz had gotten a lot better as a ghost hunter, even though nobody would likely admit it. But for a weekend, Danny would trust his sister. And now Jazz was comfortable back home, and Danny was stuck in a small boat. But it was of course Dash and his stupid, stupid dare, and for once Lancer actually trying to stop them. Danny didn't even remember what the dare was. Just that it involved climbing into the small boat. That boat wasn't part of the emergency strategies the ship had, it did have lifejackets anyway but nothing else.
What happened was indeed a collective amount of actions happening at the same time. The captain spoke through the speakers, warning and asking everyone to take cover in the hold. A small storm was building ahead of them and it needed to be avoided. Everyone except Dash decided to do the intelligent thing and follow safety procedures. That's where the dare started, Dash wanted to prove that he wasn't scared of nature so he stupidly challenged himself. It was simple, he was going to climb into the small boat, and grab tight to the side the whole time that the storm lasted. Lancer caught up with what was happening, he was about to make sure that everyone stuck together when he noticed. Dash was going to be filmed by Paulina, so Paulina with her suitcase and Star was next with her were close by. They could see the clear sky, couldn't understand what the captain was referring to, so hadn't thought about the possible danger that they were actually putting themselves into. That's when it all happened. Lancer noticed that one of his students was doing something extremely ridiculous just for the sake of it, while two were just watching and probably filming for the future. So he did what he thought was the correct action, turned around to the rest of his class and ordered them to stay, while he went to stop them. Danny, unable to believe his luck, and seeing the storm the captain mentioned, knew he should do something before any of them got in serious trouble. Tucker and Sam, his friends who were also noticing everything that was going on, couldn't believe that they were about to also get involved in helping Lancer stop the idiots of the class. Being in the A-list didn't mean that they were the smartest, did it? Valerie noticed as well in that moment that rather than stay like their teacher had ordered, they were going out.
“Are they insane, what was going on?” Valerie thought. She was pretty new in their group of friends. "Oh I'm going to kill them, if the storm doesn't," murmured Valerie, upset that her new friends, but friends nevertheless, were going crazy. The storm was about to start. She also followed them. She was as well regretting her own actions but too late to stop, it seems.
“Valerie?” asked Sam when she noticed that she had followed them. “Sam, Tuck?” said Danny when he turned and noticed them. “And Val?” he added once she was also close enough. “I can handle it,” he whispered more to Tucker and Sam. Hinting his ghostly powers would help. “We know,” said Tucker in the same voice level, he couldn’t allow Valerie to know about it. “You are crazy! Not here, not now…!” Sam warned. Especially close to Valerie that could easily call a ‘watch’ in her wrist to check for ghosts close by, by their ecto signature. “I know, I wasn't… not something obvious, just…” Danny stopped himself when he noticed confusion and a suspicious eyebrow raise from Valerie. They had stopped whispering and started talking and it was getting too loud to be heard. “Never mind,” Danny concluded. Valerie shook her head, wishing that they trusted her a bit more. Although without her knowledge they did. "Daniel, Tucker, Samantha and Valerie, didn't I say to please stay put inside?" said Mr. Lancer when he noticed the four students behind him. That made them stop discussing what they were talking about and tension was in the air. They half forgot why they were all standing there, right now. "Mr. Lancer?" Asked Paulina once she noticed the commotion behind her and Star, and turned around to see them; just as Dash had finished climbing the boat and sat inside with a thumb up signalling that he was tight, safe inside and ready to be filmed as soon as Kwan returned from the toilet. "What are the losers doing here? This is going to be my challenge, my own record!" said Dash while looking past Lancer to Danny and his friends. “Well Mr. Baxter, as much as I'd normally appreciate a record well done, I must stop this crazy act—” Mr. Lancer started but stopped in one when the wind picked up very fast and rain started falling stronger than ever. The storm had started. "Oh crap," said Danny, knowing that it was indeed too late. "Language," scolded Lancer with some difficulty. He couldn’t stop himself from correcting his students even when it was starting to be very difficult to even stand still any longer. They all were in real danger.
Danny took that as an opportunity to think fast, the only thing that was secured at the moment seemed to be the stupid boat where Dash was. Dash was already grabbing tight there, so it should be relatively safe, hopefully safe enough to stay in one piece after the storm. Everyone else except Danny was starting to slip and close to falling overboard. It was time for action, and that's what Danny did. He grabbed Tucker and Sam and put them together to his other side closer to the boat. They got the hint and jumped in, pulling Paulina and Star with them. Paulina with difficulty as she refused to let go of the suitcase. Lancer as well jumped into the boat as he noticed what his students had decided, while Valerie who was about to just lay down on the floor and grab whatever was close to her and pray that she managed to survive the storm without activating her suit. She really was going to kill them, specifically if that caused the class jerks to know her secret. One thing was her dad knowing, 'thanks' to Phantom, but it would be a whole other thing if her friends and class knew.
After putting his closer friends safe, Danny helped Valerie with a bit of super ghostly strength to also get her inside the boat. He knew that in the worst of the cases she would be fine thanks to her hunter suit. Even when he supposedly didn't know about those 'extra curricular' activities. Although, that would probably mean that he would be dead, wholly dead, if Valerie’s secret got out. Eventually, they all were on the tiny boat, with Paulina’s suitcase and everything they had in their hands. It was definitely not the best situation, luckily not the worst, but it was something that they could hopefully survive.
However, the storm only got worse with time. They all were grabbing the safety line tightly at the side of the boat. In seconds the wind was ever stronger than before, they all could feel it lifting the boat. It was Danny who actually swore when he noticed that the boat, while not being one of the life savers, was just on top of the floor fastened down with only a few knots. Lancer also noticed the same thing and for the first time that day he allowed the swear, he could feel how doomed they were. Lancer would normally be happy thinking of ‘Doomed’ but not right now, when it was a real life situation and not his favourite game.
When things couldn’t get worse, as many had now noticed the danger that they all were, it got worse. The wind finally managed to have loosened the boat, the rain was pushing it close to the edge, and then finally the stupid small boat rolled overboard. The students screamed, while Lancer tried to calm them, ordering them to not move much so the boat would land upright. The storm was a big one, so it was hard to see, the captain didn't pay attention to that side, nobody did. They were more concerned about the people inside and avoiding the huge waves that had quickly appeared out of nowhere. It felt like being in the middle of the ocean. It was terrible, that was it, as the ship pulled away, leaving the small boat with the students and teacher struggling not to flip over.
Time passed, and the storm finally stopped. The students and Lancer were relieved that by miracle, or actually ghost powers provided by Danny sneakily, they didn’t flip. They were all alright, at least that’s what it looked like. Mr. Lancer checked everyone. Paulina and Star were trying to accommodate a suitcase, he still doesn’t understand how or why that was here. Tucker, and Dash were actually green looking, heads hanging over the edge. Sam had found the lifejackets and was trying to pass those around. Danny was silent looking at all, odd but alright, probably dizzy as well. And Valerie was laying down on the edge.
That made Mr. Lancer react, noticing as well that nobody was actually calm. “Please everyone calm down,” he finally said. That’s when Paulina screamed, her suitcase finally budged and fell over. “My suitcase!!” she said while trying to reach for it. Star stopped her, before she fell as well. Sam at that moment was trying to give Danny one of the lifejackets. “You need one,” she said through her clenched teeth. Valerie finally managed to lift her head, she had herself in the boat with the help of her suit in a sneaky way, but at the last second of the storm she bounced a bit out of it. “A little help here, please!” she screamed, it was the worst that it could happen to her and everyone but c’mon, they couldn’t be that bad. “Sorry, I’m going to…” said Tucker, totally green with nausea, having accepted the lifejacket Sam was passing around. “Don’t look at me either…” commented Dash looking as green or worse than Tucker “Shit,” was the only thing that Danny could think at that moment, then it was him being the closest to her to help her out.
Lancer also helped Valerie to sit straight, then making sure that Paulina finally gave up trying to get the suitcase that was drowning bit by bit. He was very surprised that it lasted that long on the top. He then proceeded to help Sam and make sure that everyone, including himself, had a lifejacket. Once he helped with that and the two dizzy boys stopped looking so green he decided that it was time to form a plan to get rescued.
"Wait… is that the moon?" Asked Dash after a couple of seconds of calming his stomach. He said just before Lancer could even get their attention. "A full moon, but yes," said Danny with a tired expression. Using his ghostly powers while avoiding suspicions or being discovered, especially by Valerie, was harder than he thought. Especially if you count the fact that he was saving everyone there. "Is it really that late…?" said Paulina, finally paying more attention to the rest in the boat. "Well, the storm started when the sunset was setting, so," said Valerie with a shrug afterwards. They should have paid more attention to the time she guessed. "What a way to change the time," commented Star, feeling disoriented as well. "Tell me about it," murmured Tucker, he was feeling a bit better but that didn’t mean he was liking the situation a bit less. "Mr. Lancer, shouldn't we look for a way to contact everyone else?" Asked Sam, she wasn't going to spend more time than necessary with them if she could help it.
"Oh, yeah" said Lancer, shaking himself out of the conversation passing by himself around and clearing his throat. "All right, everyone, obviously once the storm stopped, someone on the boat should have noticed us missing, so it will be only a matter of time before they rescue us. Meanwhile, we should probably find a way to get dry… a bit at least, so nobody gets sick and keeps calm, maybe even see how far we are from the coast, remember that we aren't in the sea and the closest islands should be habitable, so people should help us there even better. I don't think any of you guys have a working phone with you, even though it was strictly prohibited..." He stopped when everyone put their hands in their pockets looking for their devices as if they just remembered they had them on them. That made Lancer just sigh in defeat, he wasn’t surprised; not even a little bit. "Dead," said Danny with a small smile that hinted at an inside joke for him and his closest friends. That smile got removed from his face when looking at his phone with dead battery and totally soaked, he almost hadn't noticed how wet he was, his powers helped him to stay dry, normally. But that wasn’t relevant at this moment. "Same," said Sam after checking hers with similar conditions. "My baby is dead…" said Tucker, showing his phone more wet than the others if possible. He is going to be looking for a new one as soon as possible, that was for sure. And cry about his phone debts. "Dead," said Valerie with a shake of her head. "Mine was in my suitcase…" said Paulina, with tears in her eyes. "And both were very brand new, now I'll have to ask my papá to get new ones again," she said as if it was nothing, that probably was true for her. "Mine isn't that wet, but I don't think it has service," said Star, trying to lift as much as possible her hand with the device. They all look at Dash who hasn't said anything yet. "What?" he asked. "Your phone…" said Paulina as if that was the most obvious thing to do and check. "Oh, no, sorry ‘Lina, dead as well, it only lasts like a week… sad, but oh well, my dad would get me another," Dash replied with a shrug at the end. "How about yours, Mr. Lancer?" Asked Danny, he was at the end the closest sitting to him. Lancer sighed. "I did check a while ago, but…" he showed his old fashioned phone. "As you can see, I don't have any luck either." The phone was wet with a dark screen screaming broken as well. "Then our only hope is that the rest of the class said something to the captain," commented Valerie. “Great” she whispered with sarcasm. It would take a real miracle now. "I suppose that's true," said Lancer simply, there wasn’t much to do now, was it? "We are going to die," screamed Dash, getting in panic mode again. "We aren't going to die Dash, don't be stupid, we are close to there," said Valerie, she was tired of everything, and as Lancer said before they should be close to shore, an island shore but land nevertheless. She point out what she could see in the close distance. "And how the hell do you think we will reach it, Gray?" asked Paulina, annoyed about everything. For her, everything shouldn’t be like this, now she was stuck with them. Lancer then looked around, and noticed that indeed they didn't have anything that would help them navigate the small boat to the island. "Ah," said without much thought "Are we going to use our hands and arms to move around?" said Dash, adjusting himself so he could put one arm outside the boat in the water to demonstrate what he meant. "You know like this, but well, it should work if all the losers help too," he said looking to Danny and Tucker specially. "Hey," Tucker complained, it wasn’t the time. He was thinking of pointing out that it was Dash’s fault that they were all in this situation. "Don't start Dash,” interrupted Sam. “It's all your fault, you and your stupidity put us in this situation, if you didn't think that you were the best or whatever you were trying to prove this time, then Mr. Lancer wouldn't try to stop it and us too. You are a jerk but that doesn't make it right to let you be that stupid specially when you put others in danger!" Sam was mad. She wasn’t going to let Dash’s behaviour slide, not this time. It could have all ended worse than what they knew, she and probably Tucker knew Danny had been using his powers to help them all. Lucky enough Valerie hasn’t noticed or said anything about it if she did. "Wow," commented Tucker, happy to know that he had his friends on his back as always. "She is right, you know," said Valerie, getting the same amount of annoyance from Dash and his stupidity. "Hey," complained Dash. "I never asked you losers to play heroes or whatever—" "We aren't playing…" said Danny, getting tired of everything even more than before. They might not know about his secret, but they always knew when and how to do the right thing. They always tried their best. "What do you want, fentoni?" said Dash, getting annoyed that everyone seems to be against him, it was supposed to be a little dare, a record even; something funny. Nothing more, as nothing was supposed to go wrong. "All right, all right… that's enough," said Mr. Lancer stopping both parties, who decided to just glare at each other for a couple of seconds before both breaking contact at the same time. "Then, Mr. Lancer, what are we going to do? There's no way to move the boat that easily… or it is?" Said Paulina, Star nodding along to that observation. There weren’t any paddles that they could see, probably lost in the storm. "I could do it easier, but that won't be easy to explain," thought Danny. He sighed. "I can’t believe I'm saying this, but maybe Dash was onto something, it’s not that bad of an idea to try to use our hands like that. We just need to coordinate better," he said, deciding that admitting that was going to bite him back but he was so tired of everything and they needed it out and fast. "Wow, I never thought I would see that happening any time soon," said Tucker, even though he could see that for the first time ever it seemed like Dash was right in something helpful. "Mmmm… me neither," said Valerie. It was easy to agree with what they were saying, she wished it was their idea rather than Dash’s, just for the fact that well, it was him. "I'm impressed," said Sam while nodding. "Whatever," said Paulina, she knew that they were right, she didn't like it, but the sooner she was safe the better. So she prepared herself to help too. "I'm surprised we are all right, it feels like it’s been hours," said Star out of nowhere. "Mmmmm…" was a collective agreement by everyone else.
Like that Mr. Lancer took the attention of the students and started guiding the students on what to do. How to navigate the boat with their bare hands and with what they had. It took them a couple of more hours for sure, but then they were all finally out of the water. They knew they were on an island, the question was which one and if there was anything here. Lancer did manage to keep the small group together long enough before one of them complained and decided to explore or something else. They should be close to something, anything for real, they were supposed to be close enough to civilization. This wasn’t an island in the deep ocean.
“Mmm… Mr. Lancer, I think that we are in the deserted island… the one that doesn’t even have a name…” said Tucker after a moment of looking around. Everyone had been hoping it wasn’t the case but it was. “How can you be so sure, Tuck? I thought that all your gadgets got wet and/or have no battery to tell you where we are,” said Sam with an eyebrow raised. “I don’t need technology to know that it’s a deserted one… Look around, there is nothing, NOTHING!” replied Tucker while making a show with his arms open and pointing around as if the answer was obvious. “Are we going to die here?!” said Paulina, getting worried while looking around as she needed to confirm that they were indeed on that kind of island. “Okay, okay,” said Lancer with his hands up showing palms, trying to get in control of what to do. Now that they had looked around and found nothing, it was really looking like what Tucker said. They needed a plan and fast. “We need to stay calm, wherever we are, look even if the next island town is just ‘around the corner’,” he said, making air-quotes. “For now we should use the advantage of the full moon light to start improvising a camping spot, and get ready to sleep. Tomorrow when the rescue comes, it will be all for the better,” he finished with a smile trying to provide a calming atmosphere. “But we’re all wet, well, getting dry in different stages of wet, have nothing but our clothes on, how the fuck are we going to camp, here… also camp??” complained Valerie, who normally wouldn't complain or swear like that, but she probably could be the one with actual resources, thanks to her hunter suit, but she wasn’t about to say that any time soon. “Language, please, Miss Gray,” said Mr. Lancer. He sighed, “Yeah, I know, it doesn’t sound good or looks like it for that matter, but right now in the middle of the night, I can't do much. And if my memory serves well, those lifejackets that we wore before, should have a GPS location for emergencies like this one when a person gets thrown overboard so the crew can find that poor lost soul in time,” he said, explaining that fact that was explained in the main boat as safety procedures. Considering that his students don’t know or actually paid attention the first round about when the trip started. “But what if it isn’t. We are going to stay here stuck, forever, living off… whatever those trees are… and… nooooooooooo,” said Paulina who started crying after that, Star who never left her side patted her on her back. Star was worried as well, but they should all be fine at the end, right? Their teacher was right after all. The GPS should work. “Okay… dramatic much, but we aren’t going to die,” said Sam. Danny gave her a sheepish smile. “Well, not all the way,” she murmured for just Danny to hear, sometimes she couldn’t believe that she followed his sense of humour, “I believe Mr. Lancer is right. None of you noticed but those had a red light on the whole time we had it on and still on, so rescue is on its way, probably because it’s late, won’t be here until the morning.” Sam finished nodding to herself, feeling proud of that. She knew the whole time that’s why they always used them on small boats like that, actually in all kinds of boats. “Thank you Miss Manson, so let’s go that way,” Mr. Lancer said and pointed to the closest group of trees that, funnily enough, had grown in an arch, giving the illusion of a roof. “We can all fit under that, so at least we will have shelter for the night.” Lancer had been looking for something like that for a while, while the rest were focusing on the worst.
Everyone looked at what he was pointing at and agreed with the teacher, sometimes they forgot that he was a scout when he was younger. At least Dash was sure that Lancer had said so in the past. Even Danny could agree with what had been planned out. Like that, everyone got into a task, even without words, they seem to be working together fine for once. Paulina and Star started to collect some smaller branches and put them all together to make a fire. Sam was walking around collecting some berries and fruits that were growing close to them and easy to collect. Valerie decided to help the other two girls, she could probably be the only one there that would be able to start the fire without a problem, but wasn’t going to expose herself. She was starting to hate that fact, but secret identities were for something. Dash, Danny and even Tucker were helping Lancer accommodate the big branches and making sure that all of them could lay down with enough cover for the night.
Once everything seemed fine for the night, they all sat together around the fire. In a surprise turn of events, it was Paulina and Star who started the fire. Valerie was surprised as well as everyone else. Danny did surprise the rest a bit when he without too much thinking was the one that did some hard lifting to move away one of the heavy branches. Although that did surprise everyone else who wasn’t aware of his powers they just shook it off as an odd thing from him, and continued as if nothing unusual had happened. Just like that everyone started to get in better conditions and less wet than before, more dry and comfortable with their clothes as far as they could. Once Sam returned with everything that she collected, she divided it up equally.
“I can’t believe I must eat this… I didn’t notice but I was starving,” said Tucker while helping some of the fruits, knowing well enough how sick he is going to get after all this. Hopefully his body resists until after the rescue. “I can’t believe what I’m about to say, but thanks Manson,” said Dash who was as well starving and eating what he was given. “Well, I don’t have my stuff, but at least this isn’t that bad, I guess I’d have to give you some credit, Sam,” said Paulina, who was wishing to have at least her phone working or her own food. “Unbelievable…” commented Valerie after hearing Paulina. “Well, okay, before you guys start another of your… debates,” said Mr. Lancer. “Wish they were this active in my class rather than blaming each other thousands of times” he thought and sighed, “you may have missed that I found the perfect place for your… needs,” he said, pointing out a bit farther behind them where it could be seen a small hole. Their toilet for the night. The disgusted faces of his students confirmed they got the message. That was good enough for him, he wasn’t planning on explaining that. After a couple of seconds Paulina said, “No way, I will hold it until we get rescued, I’m dry and tired, so I’ll just lay down…” She stood up from the circle that they all were sitting close to the fire. That got her a couple of nods from Dash and Star.
Like that Paulina, Star, and Dash move to the impromptu camp that Lancer with the boys had managed to create. Mr. Lancer just sighed at their reaction and decided that, for good or bad, he was going to use it. He left Danny, Tucker, Sam and Valerie still sitting close to the fire while the A-list students were already laying down and closer to falling asleep than they wanted to admit. Danny on the other hand just smiled at the situation, even when he was worried sick of what all of this could mean, at least they all were safe and sound. Sam had already confirmed that the lifejackets had indeed sent the GPS signal. They were all going back to Amity, later than never, and faster than they think.
Danny was just looking up to the sky, admiring the stars, he had a plan, or at least he hoped that he had. He was simply waiting for everyone to fall asleep and fly back to see where they were and well, if Phantom was the one that made sure they got help, so be it. He just needed to be very careful when doing it. Valerie was there as well, and even though they had a truce, he wasn’t risking a shot just because he was there as Phantom. It would be very hard to explain why he was there, well Phantom.
After a while, Lancer returned and asked them if they were alright. They did reassure him that indeed they were fine considering the circumstances. They just wanted to look at the stars for a little longer before laying down with the rest. Then Lancer decided that he was as well going to lay down, but remind them to wake him up if something happens. Once they promised that, he went with the rest. Valerie followed suit, she wasn’t going to do much if she was as tired as she was feeling, it didn’t help that just before the trip, she did have a long night ghost hunting. Sam and Tucker as well followed suit, they could tell Danny had something in mind, but also knew that he could be the one that finds something useful.
Then Tucker and Sam wish Danny luck and warn him about the obvious treat that was Valerie. Danny knowing their good intentions affirmed that he was very aware about the sensors on her suit, they all knew -well, the team Phantom- and he knew how to be very careful. Danny stayed a little longer stargazing before taking for a walk to get some distance, transforming, keep invisible just in case, and flying away. In the distance, not that far off the island at least for him, just his luck, he found the main boat. Keeping the invisibility, he passed through walls until he found the captain and the crew actually trying to locate the missing persons and the boat that they had. With that in mind, and noticing that they were on the right track, Danny decided that they would be fine until the next day. Seeing that they all seemed tired and were actually pausing the search for the next morning. All did point out that they were going to get rescued very early in the morning. Finally some great news from all this.
That’s how Danny decided that if the captain and crew were in charge of actually rescuing them, then he would have to be there with his classmates to be rescued. He flew back to the island, but not before grabbing some stuff that could be useful that he ‘could have’ in his pockets and ‘forget’ about it. Dash or even Valerie won’t be happy about it, while Paulina and Star would probably be very confused as to how he forgot about those. He knew well that Sam and Tuck would know but pretend that they didn’t just to see how confused is Mr Lancer as well with all. Once he arrived on the island, he pretended to use the ‘toilet’ before deciding that it was time to sleep with the rest. He was exhausted as well.
Once the next day arrived, the fire was long gone, and the students and teacher were getting up. Sam decided to look for more fruits and berries to eat once more, and Valerie volunteered to go with her. Actually, during the night she had noticed her suit alarm, but not had a chance to check for ghosts, so worried about that, she decided to look around. Sam didn’t mind though, she could tell that she was looking for what should be just Danny the night before. Meanwhile, Dash pushed Danny to help him collect more wood for a new fire. He insisted that if he did it yesterday, he would be able to do it again.
Danny, not liking where that was going, stopped harshly and fell face down into the sand. “Hey what was that, fentoni, I know you aren’t that weak, at least yesterday you weren’t,” Dash said annoyed. “I don’t know how that happened.” said Danny lying from the sand without raising his head. “I don’t think anyone here understands you, dude,” said Tucker, just playing along. “C’mon Danny, you don’t want your friend Tucker helping him, right?” said Paulina, she knew that Dash was right and it would be very interesting to see Danny do something like that. “Aren’t you, like, the one that always helps… in a way?” said Star. She had noticed that detail from him over the years, even before all the ghosts appeared. Danny lifted his head and part of his body from the sand and started to stand up. “Really? That’s what you guys got? Shouldn’t Mr. Lancer be the one helping? I mean collecting the wood for the new fire?” asked Danny, he could tell what they were trying to do. “Mr Fenton, as much as I appreciate the vote in favour, I’d have to ask you guys to do the hard work today, it shouldn’t take that long for the crew to find us anyway…” Mr Lancer said, hinting that yesterday did a number on his back, but wasn’t saying it. Noticing that, Danny sighed. “Fine, I’d do my best,” he said, and gave a smile to the group. “Star and I will go to that small clear water entry we found yesterday, the water from yesterday is almost gone,” said Paulina pointing to the bottles that weren’t there earlier at night but later on. “Just be careful girls, don’t forget to reuse the bottles that were on the boat,” Lancer said; he still didn’t recall when or how they found those underneath the ‘pocket’ in the boat that contained the lifejackets. What he didn’t know was that it was Danny who brought those and by ‘chance’ found those during the night in the boat. When he was supposed to use the ‘toilet’. “Sure thing,” both girls said. They also couldn’t believe that the bottles were there the whole time, but how the saying goes ‘don’t look a gift horse…’ so they just shrugged it off.
Minutes passed, it could be even around an hour, they didn’t know how long had passed, just that time had. Sam and Valerie were returning with more fruits and berries and such to last for the day. Paulina and Star had managed to get as much water as possible, without adding any sand in it. Tucker and Lancer were finishing accommodating some of the stuff that got moved during the night. A new fire pit was ready to be lit, and just in time Dash and Danny returned, carrying enough wood for the whole day or even longer although they didn't need it.
It was there and then that everything seemed to be happening at the same time in slow motion. Dash arrived first with the first and bigger amount of wood that was put down close to the fire pit created from the night before. Danny was following suit, didn’t notice that action. He was carrying a bit bigger than his own height in amount of wood but not that much heavier than what he could carry. At the same moment, the girls were arriving with the food and water respectively. Mr. Lancer and Tucker, noticing what was happening, looked around to see. Danny, when he didn’t notice the wood in front of him, just tripped. To avoid collapsing to the rest of the wood already on the fire pit and throwing his part on top of Dash or anyone close to him, with his instincts he just passed through those.
In that precise moment, Valerie's suit was softly beeping the signal of a ghost. She ignored it for the sake of Danny, hoping against everything that it was wrong. Paulina and Star almost drop all the rest of the water they had in their hands. Sam and Tucker just palm head themselves. While Dash and mr. Lancer just stood there standing gasping with their open mouths. Danny couldn’t believe his luck, that wasn’t how he had planned it; he didn’t think that he was going to use his powers any more, he knew the rescue was close.
“What was that, Fenton?” asked Dash after closing and opening his mouth a couple of times. He couldn’t believe what he just saw. “Did you just call him by his name?” said Tucker, as pointing out the obvious, Dash normally wouldn't ever do that. Although at this moment it didn’t matter. “Well, he is a ghost isn’t he, oh god he is a ghost isn’t he?” Dash said what the A-list students and Valerie were thinking, although Valerie didn’t want her suit to be right, Danny couldn’t be one. “It can’t be…” Valerie said, softly. She wasn’t sure if anyone heard her but she didn’t care. “You are one… aren’t you Fenton?” said Dash more like a fact than a question and looked directly at Danny. “Because no way you are possessed, are you? Your eyes aren’t different colours… oh god…” He really didn’t know what to do or think at that moment. “Um…. ah…no?” Danny hesitated. He didn't know what to say, the obvious option was to deny it, but after that, not even super ecto contamination or some sort of lie like that would work. He knew it, he was very screwed. “Oh god, you are hesitating,” accused Paulina, she didn’t get it. It shouldn’t be possible, they should know. “No!” Danny tried to deny it with more precision than before. “No way, you went through those, here I thought you were about to fall all the way down, you did it earlier” said Dash pointing to the wood branches that were in front of him as to need to point out the obvious. “It was reflexes, okay,” Danny said, finally putting down the rest of the wood that he had next to the wood that caused the whole dilemma. “Reflexes he said…” said Tucker, not believing his friends' reactions, after all this time. Danny glared at him. “Thanks for the help, Tuck,” said Danny, a bit annoyed by his friend. “Wait… is that true… are you okay?” said a bit sad sounding Paulina who was out of her own dilemma with what was happening. Danny looked around, noticed that they all were waiting for a reply, he also looked at Sam who only shrugged as saying at this rate, there wasn’t much to do, was it? “Yes…” he replied. “Oh for the ‘Lord of the Flies’! Daniel, you are a ghost and you just say yes?” said Mr. Lancer unsure of how to react to that fact. That was something that he was sure it couldn’t happen but it did. “But your parents…” said Dash, putting out the fact that they are ghost hunters, and getting worried, even when he doesn’t like Danny that much. He couldn’t imagine ‘living’ like that. “Don’t know, and I’d appreciate it if that stayed like that, please.” Danny begged them with his tone and eyes. “And before this goes more crazy, I’m only half ghost, that’s why… well, I look like this…” he said, pausing for a couple of seconds. “Now,” he added almost like a murmur and turned his head down. That was it, no turning around out of this, it seemed. Tucker and Sam both got closer to Danny and put their hands on his shoulders respectively. “All right, he wasn’t going to say much, and if he didn’t do what he did those branches would have squashed any of you,” said Sam looking at the students with a very serious expression. “You two knew and didn’t tell me, I guess I know why, but still… It hurts! We are friends now, right?” said Valerie. She knew that she was being a bit harsh but they needed a distraction from the rest. Danny needed it more than them, more than herself and her suspicion that they knew her secret as well. “What?” Danny said very fast as he also turned his head back as fast as possible to look at her. “Of course we are, me, Tuck and Sam… we do consider you our friend… I’m sorry I didn’t tell you… yet… ” “Yet?” Valerie said with an eyebrow raised. “Yeah?” said Danny, he was planning to, they have a truce after all, but not saying it yet. “Look, it's complicated,” added Sam, nodding as though hinting that they knew what her watch really was. “I’d say,” replied Valerie, having the more secure suspicion that she knew what they meant with that. Her sensor was actually telling her Phantom was close, or it did when he used his powers. It was unbelievable, indeed but very believable at the same time if she tried. “Mmmm…” said Paulina, she could understand Tucker and Sam already knowing, they were his friends after all, but she also had the suspicion that they knew something more, something that looked like it had to be with Valerie and that’s why she was saying that. “Wait… Danny,” called Star, unsure if it was okay to ask. “Yes?” Danny replied and looked to see her. “What do you mean by half?” Star did notice that before, and seeing as nobody else was saying much about it, she was going to ask. “Oh, that’s simple…” Danny started. “Are you sure?” asked Sam, worrying that maybe that was a bit much information. They all don’t need that. “Yeah” said Danny. “Yeah?” asked Tucker just to be sure. “Yes,” said Danny seriously and then looked to Star and Paulina who was next to her. “Half ghost and half human, halfa,” said Danny simply. “Impossible,” said Dash with a snort. “Well, I'm still ‘alive’, right? I mean I'm still here… eating and doing all that ghosts shouldn’t be able to do, right?” said Danny. “But I saw my ghost boy do all that stuff before, I mean he was seen in the Nasty Burger before…” said Paulina while Star nodded along. She had also seen that before. “Oh, well… haha,” said Danny with a forced laugh at the end and putting a hand behind his neck, his nervous signature. “No way, that’s bullshit” said Dash. “Language!” said Mr Lancer, getting annoyed by all the times he had said that in the last 24 hours. Even though he could understand that reaction, he was having trouble understanding himself what that meant. “But Mr. Lancer, you don’t believe that, don’t you?” said Dash incredulously. “I don’t think it’s important what I believe right now, other than even if Daniel here-” started Lancer. “Danny, please just Danny,” Danny said, letting his green eyes pass through. He never liked that, it always reminded him of Vlad. Right now, exposed as Phantom as well, if they all got the message, he wasn’t feeling that calm any more. “You scary eyes are out,” whispered Tucker. “Oh!” said Danny as his eyes returned to his natural blue. “Sorry about that.” He didn’t know what else to say, he only knew that he must calm himself before something else happened. “It’s okay,” said Lancer, getting the feeling that obviously Danny hasn't planned any of this, and it would be better for all if he was all right, as much as a halfa could anyway. “No, it-” started Danny when a strong ‘honk’ was heard.
They all turned to look at the ‘sea’, and noticed that the ship had found them. At that moment everyone outside of team Phantom forgot about Danny being a ghost. With that the almost clear implication that he was no other than Danny Phantom, their town hero. They weren’t going to ask how that worked, they would only just accept that as a fact if he actually admitted it to them. Meanwhile, all of them were happy that indeed the lifejackets with the trackers did the deed and they were found. It was like a miracle for everyone except Danny. He was happy that everyone else seemed to forget all about him. At least a break for now from him.
The crew of the big boat sent the real lifesaver boats to them. They explained and confirmed that once they noticed a small boat missing with a group of people after the storm they hoped that the trackers were on. Once that was confirmed to be on, they noticed that it looked like they were just at the other side of it. It was pretty late when the storm had passed, so they weren’t so sure of what they were going to find. Everyone on the ship was glad to find out that the missing people were safe and sound on that island. The news spread quickly. The rest of the class were happy and not that much -well not that serious- of finding the missing classmates, and their teacher.
Once the small group was back on board and checked over, they all returned back to the coast as it was planned. For obvious reasons the rest of the trip activities were cancelled, even though the rest of the class was safe the whole time, mind. In no time, the whole class was on their way back to Amity. That was something that Danny couldn’t be more grateful for. Once they were on a bus back home, Lancer took the opportunity to ask Danny about his condition, he hadn’t forgotten about it. He was going to make sure that neither of the small group said much, and he understood, in a way that the Fenton's parents couldn’t ever know about it. Unless Danny said something first.
Danny didn’t find it comfortable talking about being a ghost like a condition, but did appreciate the effort from his teacher. While Dash had reunited with Kwan, (who was going to the toilet just before the disaster and like that avoided the island); couldn’t stay with him as he apologised himself to talk with Danny. Kwan was confused as to why Dash wanted to talk with Fenton, but was glad to see his friend back. Paulina and Star sat close enough to Danny and co, so they could actually promise not to say a word, because even being them would not guarantee that anyone else would believe them. They were smart after all, not just pretty; also they had agreed between them that they would keep it a secret.
Once they arrived at Amity, and back to Casper High, they all acted like nothing had changed. That helped Danny to feel a bit more at ease with that, that and the fact that he knew that they could be nice persons when proposed. Lancer had a bit more serious talk in his office later on during the week, explaining that even when he appreciated his help against the other ghost he couldn’t keep missing so many classes. So team Phantom now with Valerie being officially part of it as the hunter as well, created a plan together to help in general. They did explain to Lancer, so he would know that they are working on a better time manager to fight ghosts and such. Lancer did help them adjust the plan. Like that Danny and even Valerie were doing better at school. It all seems to go for the better from now on.
The End? :D :D

1/3: Dogmeats Death
Just a three part story I made about what Jasmine would do if Dogmeat was killed.😭😭😭
This includes everyone but Strong, just imagine he is on vacation or on tour or something. 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
Warning, It’s a lot of sads up ahead, Along with lots of violence and blood. Don’t worry, this is non cannon to my story because I’m not going to add more bloodshed to Jasmines life.
Get the tissues ready. I believe I rewrote this one a lot better than the last edition.
Jasmine whistled out a low breath and swallowed down a lump in her throat, peeking over the rock she was crouched behind. The teen strained her ears for any sort of noise, only being met with the sound of the wind blowing and the faint huffs of her ally’s nearby. All around her laid an abundance of mangled raider bodies, all dead by her hand.
Perfect. Just PERFECT.
She thought she could have one good, stress free day. But no, fate said “fuck you” again and ruined the peaceful afternoon lounge session she was enjoying with Nick, Nora, and everyone else who was apart of their strange little family.
The girl had been messing around with Dogmeat and Deacon, the three of them playing a game with a tennis ball and lots of playful energy. Deacon was going all in at being the funny uncle he strived to be, wrestling the ball from Dogmeat’s slobbery mouth then rolling and pouncing on the ground as if he was one with the dogs.
He had put on a good and amusing show, Jazzy was in a fit of hysterics with the overly done barking and growls sending her over the edge and doubling over. From the corner of her eyes she had seen some of their friends stop or slow down to admire the moment as well.
But this couldn’t last.
Then there was the sound of bullets, followed by screaming and shouting. She had stopped cold in her joyful moment and whirled around to follow the sound of fighting by instinct. The girl watched in partial horror as Sanctuary turned into a bloody battlefield within seconds, everyone scrambling like mad to protect their home.
Wave one came and went in a blink of an eye, the unfortunate raiders who had decided to lunge at her found themselves in the ground before they could even get a hit in. She’s not sure how well the others had fared, but she’s certain that no one on their side had died.
Yet. She can never be too hopeful. It’s always a possibility. Now they were all crouching behind cover, waiting to see what would happen next.
How fun. Maybe next time the raiders could at least call ahead beforehand to make things easier on everyone.
Jasmine lowered herself back behind the rock, huffing heavily while she tended to a minor knife cut on her arm. Dogmeat whimpered beside her as he nudged her hands with concern in his big doggy eyes, licking her elbow. “Good boy,” she soothed, stroking his head while giving him a quick kiss.
He barked with approval, wagging his tail.
Sometimes she swears that he’s a human trapped in a dogs body, how else can she explain that deep emotion and understanding that the pup has in him?
Her eyes scanned around her to give the area another once over. They almost immediately clicked on Nick who was hunched behind a house with Curie and Piper beside him. She would rather be besides him right now, but making a dash through the center of the field was too risky.
He was probably thinking the same thing judging by the worry lined in his eyes. Her dad gave her a slight nod. “Be careful,” he mouthed at her, silently pleading with her not to do anything stupid or reckless.
Jas nodded back, giving him a thumbs up. “Promise,” she mouthed, clutching her pistol tighter.
She heard the taunts of raiders start rapidly approaching, making the air around them thicken once more with tension. “Everybody hold your ground!” Nora shouted in the distance with authority in her voice that snapped even the most skittish of the bunch to attention.
Breathe. Make your shots count.
Gun in hand, she once again peeped out from behind the rock, narrowing her eyes as she watched the first few raiders charge. Within moments the place was chaos as a surprising amount of raiders poured in.
Jasmine was quick to start picking them off one by one, subconsciously counting her bullets and how many of them actually hit someone. She could hear everyone else around her fighting with all they had.
Dogmeat took a few raiders in his jaws, tugging them to the ground while snarling, not letting go until he either snapped their neck or Jas made a clean shot to finish them off.
It was a good system to have, but she was wondering why the raiders seemed to be playing easy with them, none of the ones that had rushed at her yielded actual guns.
“CHA-CHINK!”
Oh shit. How lovely. She jinxed herself.
“Grenade!” Jasmine shouted in alarm, diving to push Dogmeat out of the way as the sound of something landing besides their hiding rock registered in her head. She landed head first on the dirt and curled up into a protective ball just as the explosion hit, making her body jolt.
“Jasmine!” She heard Nick holler in the distance, followed by the ringing in her ears that she had covered.
Head, heart, arms, legs, and torso, check. Nothing is bleeding or broken, nothing is punctured. She can see straight and is still in one piece. Good, very good. She can still put up a hell of a fight.
“Awroooooo!”
But maybe someone else can’t.
“Oh no...” The girl raised her head and pushed herself up to a sitting position, opening her arms wide to let a whimpering Dogmeat limp into her embrace. He laid his head on her lap, gazing up at her with pain filled puppy eyes as he licked her hands. Her heart dropped down to her stomach when she realized that he had left behind a sizable trail of blood while crawling over.
“Let me see baby,” she whispered, giving the area a quick glance to make sure no one was charging over before she carefully lifted Dogmeats back leg. A thick piece of shrapnel had lodged itself deep into the flesh of his back leg, deep enough that it was peeking through the other side and had probably shattered his bone.
“Fuck!” Jazzy hissed between her teeth while her brows furrowed with concern, carefully lifting the whimpering pup into her arms while standing. She planted her feet firmly into the ground, gaining her stance before making a sprint to dive behind a tree.
Jasmine carefully laid the pup on the ground behind their new form of cover, shrugging off her jacket to use as a makeshift bandage until they could get some proper help. She cursed herself for leaving her backpack behind when she started playing with Deacon and Dogmeat, a stimpak would do them much good right now.
Perhaps someone else had one on hand, although it would be difficult to get anyone’s attention due to the swarms of raiders that are currently on top of everyone. It must be bad because Nick hasn’t found the time to come looking for her. In fact, not even she’s sure where her father is right now.
Her eyes landed on Preston, who was being outnumbered by a trio of raiders. The minuteman was holding his own pretty well, but was getting tagged teamed from behind by two raiders with poles. And judging by the way they were vigorously swinging at the poor man, they probably held a grudge or two against the Minuteman.
The girl cupped Dogmeats face, their noses almost touching. “Stay,” Jasmine softly commanded the pup. He whined lowly in response, looking at her with pain filled puppy eyes. He’s going to split apart her heart at this rate with those eyes, she briefly wonders if that’s how Nick feels about hers when she pulls them up.
“I’ll be back for you,” she assured him with a gentle kiss between his ears. “I promise. Cross my heart, hope to die, stick a needle in my eye.”
She rose and bolted across the field on her swift feet, doing her best to avoid the bullets that narrowly whizzed by her. Without her bulletproof jacket on she’d have to be extra careful here unless she wants to sit through another lecture concerning her safety and mortality.
Jasmine lunged herself at one of the raiders, furiously ripping him away from Preston. She smirked for half a second when she saw the surprise and confusion flush on the raiders face when he turned around and saw that it had been her to pull him away with the harsh force. Too bad she can’t savor it for long, it’s almost a pity. Her knife collided with his neck and she waited until he gurgled his final breath before she aided Preston in finishing off the other two.
The minuteman clutched a hand to his side with a wince, nodding at Jas. “Thank you,” he rasped at her, a little blood trickling down his face. “For a moment there, I thought I was done for.”
“Not bailing out on us that easily, but we ain’t done here,” she muttered back, flicking some blood off her wrist. How many damn raiders did they call? It feels like they’ve picked off an entire population worth of brutes yet they are still pouring in.
“Grenade!” Danse boomed from behind, causing the two to spring forwards almost in union to get out of the blast zone. She rushed to aid the former paladin, tripping on one of the fallen bodies in the process. A string of curses left her mouth as she rolled gracefully on the dirt as she was taught to do, shaking out her feet to ward off any numbness.
She heard the clunking of power armor before a large shadow came over her. “You alright?” Danse questioned, taking her arm and carefully pulling the girl from off the ground. “Yeah, I’m fine.”
He gave her a once over for injuries, frowning. “Where’s your jacket?”
“I gave it to Dogmeat. Do you have a stimpak, I need it for him-…”
Another explosion erupted besides them. Danse covered the teen with his power armor as she scrunched onto the ground again with her arms covering her head. “Take cover!” He yelled at her before charging head on to take care of whomever decided to do something stupid like that.
She’d join him in the pursuit but she made a promise to her pup that she intends to keep. Jasmine turned back to face the tree, wiping the sweat and blood from her eyes to clear her vision.
Her blood ran cold. Looming over the spot she had left Dogmeat was a burly raider with a red bandana tied around his mouth, his gun pointed towards the ground.
“GET THE HELL AWAY FROM HIM!!”
Adrenaline kicked in and she bolted towards the tree, again forgetting to pay attention to the battle raging around her. And unfortunately, she had to pay the price for that mistake. A sharp pain pierced the back of her leg, sending her sprawling to the ground.
She hissed and bit down on her lip. Now she was the one who was leaving behind a trail of blood while she dragged herself towards cover.
“Whoa! Here, lemme help you there baby sister.” Hancock appeared by her side of by magic and quickly slung her arm around his shoulder, helping her hobble over to a guard post where Curie was currently huddled behind. The medics eyes widen when she saw the girls pained expression as Hancock brought her to the barrier.
“Mademoiselle! You’re bleeding!”
“It’s just a graze, don’t sweat it,” Jas breathed, tugging on Hancocks arm while she tried to look through the smoke for the tree. “Please, I have to get to Dogmeat-…”
“Grenade!” MacCready shouted from besides them. Hancock shoved Jazzy behind the barrier with Curie and took off to lend the merc a hand.
Who gave these raiders so many damned grenades and explosives!?! She tried to stand again, swaying to the side before regaining her balance.
Curie snatched her arm, giving her a hard tug. “No Jasmine! It’s too dangerous!” The girl fell backwards and immediately shielded Curie with her body to protect her from any incoming fire. She was right, going through that would be suicide with the wound on her leg keeping her from running at full speed. Curie rummaged through her bag from under the teens hold, pulling out a stimpak and a can of purified water to offer to Jas.
Fuck her fear of needles and ingesting anything. Dogmeat is in danger and she’s not by his side like she promised him. She snatched the offered items, almost aggressively stabbing her leg with the stimpak and inhaling the can of water in one large gulp. She looked at the medic with pleading eyes, holding out a hand. “I need another stimpack, please. It’s for Dogmeat.” Curie nodded and rummaged through her bag once more, handing the girl one.
Jasmine rose to her feet and glanced around, helping Curie stand as well. By now the battle had depleted down to only a few bursts of gunfire here and there. Most of the raiders had realized they had been fighting a losing battle and decided to retreat, leaving behind their wounded comrades to fight until their last breath.
“Roll call!!” Nora called out from her spot behind a house, taking stock of her friends and remaining men.
The girl started to make her way to the tree, wincing as the stimpak was still taking effect on her wounds so she was moving in a strange and partly painful lurch.
“Dogmeat…”
“Jasmine!” Nick jogged up to her and cupped her cheeks with his hands, giving his daughter a quick once over with his eyes wide with alarm. She tried to push past him, holding both of her arms out in desperation towards her destination. “Dad, we've gotta help Dogmeat-!”
She was cut off when a heartbroken wail erupted through the air, making the girl freeze mid-sentence. Nick turned his head to where the other companions had started gathering, taking Jazzy’s arm in his as they both rushed to the source of the cry. It was coming right from where she had left Dogmeat.
Oh God, please no…
The girl bit down her lip, squeezing Nick’s hand while her mind raced. Her heart already knew what had happened, so why was she praying for something different?
Nick halted, his arm draping over Jazzy’s shoulders and he brought her close to his side. “Oh no…”
Nora was knelt under the tree, mournfully sobbing over Dogmeat’s limp body that was cradled in her arms. The pup’s lifeless glassy eyes stared off at nothing, the spark that he had earlier while playing and fighting to defend his home was long gone.
Jasmine’s mouth partly opened, a scream getting stuck in her throat while she watched the scene that almost played in slow motion. The pups blood spilled over Nora while she wept into his neck, but it wasn’t only coming from the wound on his leg that Jas had covered with her jacket.
A bullet had been lodged right between his eyes, leaving dark red river to ooze out.
Her mind went numb, the image of the raider with the red bandanna flashing in her mind on repeat. He was standing right there a few yards in front of her, yet she didn’t kill him!
From behind Curie came running over, covering her mouth in shock when she saw her friend clutching her once faithful pooch. She sobbed something that sounded like apologies on behalf of the loss of life as she clutched onto Nora’s side to try and bring her some comfort.
“Dogmeat!” Piper shrieked in the distance when she came from around the corner, running over to take Nora and Curie into her arms. “Oh Blue! I’m so sorry…”
“No. I’m sorry...” Jasmine whispered, squeezing her eyes shut as she coughed out a shuddering breath. “Your fault. Your fault. Your fault.” Her head taunted and berated, making her head hurt and her knees weaken. She pulled back from Nick so she was standing on her own, heaviness growing in her chest.
Preston removed his hat and lowered his head respectfully, clutching his rifle to his chest. MacCready could be heard and seen trying to cover his sobs and tears as he turned away from the group.
From the corner of her peripheral vision she spotted Deacon rush away as he adjusted his sunglasses over his face while X6 shifted closer to watch. A little sadness laced the courser’s face as he watched the scene unfold.
Everybody was heartbroken and upset, and Dogmeat was DEAD.
Her mind started to berate her more harshly, causing her body to stiffen and her face to deprive of all emotions.
Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. Why didn't she do better to save the pup?!? Why did she abandon him while he was defenseless and weak?!? Why didn't she save him when she had the chance?!? Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.
Dogmeats final moments had been staring down the barrel of some brutal and heartless raiders gun, loyally waiting for the girl to follow through with her promise that she never fulfilled.
She had failed yet another beloved family member, the price once more being their life taken in a horrible way while she stands and watches the aftermath.
Piper nudged her friend, trying to help Nora and Curie up. Cait walked up and attempted to peel Dogmeat away, stopping when Nora let out a heart wrenching yelp as she reached for the dogs body, causing Piper to fall over in a sobbing mess.
“Wait here for me, doll,” Nick told Jas before he rushed over to hold the three girls in his arms, whispering to them words of comfort as Cait lifted Dogmeats body away with the help of Hancock and Danse.
Jasmine merely stiffened, remaining stoic and cold to it all. Inside sirens blared and flashed red, making her vision even worse.
He’s dead. He’s dead. He’s dead. You’ll never see him again for as long as you live.
Nora let out another cry as Nick tightened his arms around the three girls so they wouldn’t all fall over. Curie blubbered something, either in French or English, It was hard to tell under her tears. Piper had one arm around Nick, the other one cradling Nora. The reporters eyes were red and puffy, a few tears dripping down her face.
Goddammit. What have you done?!?
Jasmine spun on her heel and walked away, unable to keep watching. She poked the fallen bodies with her foot, turning over each corpse. None of them looked even remotely the same to the brute she saw, which meant that he was still living and breathing somewhere.
Not for long.
The heaviness in her chest started to boil, filling her with the rage that she was taught to harness and release with cruel violence. Red soon clouded her vision, taking hold of all her senses.
The girl casted everyone a long look, swallowing a lump in her throat as she stormed away towards the bridge. She doesn’t want to cry with the group over their fallen faithful friend, she doesn’t want to mourn the hard loss. It hurts too much cry, she hates it when she cries.
Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill.
She crossed the rickety bridge out of Sanctuary, following the blasted out road past the Rocket Red Station where Nora had first met Dogmeat. Her throat closed, making breathing another difficult chore. Nora had fondly recounted the story several times, so much so that Jas could almost see that day clear in her mind.
The teen picked up speed, eyes clicking down at a trail of blood and several sets of footprints. She didn’t think that Nora would send out a team to chase down the remaining raiders just yet, not with the damage that had been done. So it was just going to be her on this self appointed mission.
And here’s a rare moment where she can silently and ironically thank her former captors for giving her the capability of being so brutal. Because now she has faith that she can make them suffer for what they have taken from her.
Alright, now this version hits me in the feels even harder than the last. What have I done?!? 🤧🤧🤧
