Museum Exhibit I'd Like To Curate:

(shocker: we're not all straight/cis and we're not all out to erase queer history at every turn. never have been. of course, that doesn't mean queer historians have never been complicit in erasure, for safety reasons or personal bias against another letter of the acronym or what have you. I'd love to explore that- and our contributions to the queer history field -in greater depth)

Posting it on main too, but here's my contribution to the @hoshinokaabi-secretsanta with a gift for @mastercrowned!! All of the given prompts were So Delightful, but in the end I had to go with drawing Morpho ordering a Kirby Burgie (or maybe 10) asdlkgjn

This whole event was a Delight to participate in! Had I more time and energy I would have Defo scribbled out more, but for Now pls enjoy my Favorite part of the image that Unfortunately got masked by the completed piece which is.

SO in the beginning of the new mcr announcement i think it says "DRAAG" which means we have two new letters from the tour's alphabet decoded - D and G!!!

Nona the Ninth Reaction - John 15:23

the imagery of the numbered days, specifically three days, seems very biblical to me, and John’s discovery of necromancy and eventual resurrection of the Nine Houses seems to tie in a lot to how the Gospel of John features the resurrection of Lazarus, and Jesus’s death & resurrection. i also find it very interesting that it was A— who was the first to believe him apparently 

and his eyes have now changed to that yellow colour that will eventually be Alecto’s. characters really weren’t just being dramatic when they said Gideon or Alecto’s eyes were golden, they really are some weird unearthly shade. 

listen objectively I knew that this is set sometime in our (present-day) future, but C— describing Twilight as an old movie is something else

and he and the narrator (Harrow? Alecto? Halecto??) are hiking through some kind of destruction, cars and other man-made objects being submerged in water, presumably caused by the apocalypse. where exactly are they headed hmm

poor C—, some random lawyer whose ended up getting involved in all these crazy scientists weird experiments on non-rotting dead bodies

ooh and the way John describes these newfound powers and having heightened senses of sound and people and animals is very similar to the way Harrow experienced Lyctorhood, being able to sense everyone on the Erebos’s hearts. i also find it intriguing that the other similarity to gaining Lyctorhood here is the previously mentioned eye colour change … not entirely certain what it could mean, its not exactly the same as they haven’t changed colours completely. but there has definitely been some kind of change to his soul 

okay, Ulysses and Titania were the later names of some of the other Lyctors - I’m guessing John renamed everyone after the Resurrection, and just kept those? also he named Ulysses after a dog? poor Ulysses. also also apparently dogs are a running theme in this book as well??

and oh shit he finally has properly discovered necromancy. not just the ability to preserve dead bodies, but to puppet them around, just like Harrow later does with her parents. also John is very casual about it here, but the imagery of him just uncontrollably laughing while remotely moving around dead bodies is … disturbing. no wonder M— threw up. 

And so far the coded message reads: ‘THE/TOW’. i suppose it could be ‘the to [word beginning with w]’ but i don’t think that would make much grammatical sense? unless its something very abstract

Everyone is born with a jumble of letters on their wrist, letters that will eventually be decoded to read their soulmate's name. So on a person's birthday, each year, a new letter falls into its proper place. It's not always in order; it can be a letter from the person's first, middle, or last name, though the first letter of each is always unscrambled early in life.

Zed's wrist reads Adlieon Rosalind Wsdls. It's just his luck that his soulmate's middle name is unscrambled before her first and last names. He's entering high school in two days and doesn't even know his soulmate's first name. He has no way to find her, if she even lives in Seabrook.

The first thing he'd noticed, at only six years old, is the lack of Z in her name. She isn't a zombie, unless her family decided not to follow zombie naming culture, which is unlikely. He knows almost every zombie in Zombietown and there are none with a name similar to his soulmate's.

His only chance now is human high school.

Her father had been furious when he'd read the name, recognising it from his job as captain of the Z-patrol. Her mother had considered getting her soulmark removed, but the side effects were too great -memory loss, chronic pain, loss of emotion, even death. So she got a thick pink bracelet, the kind worn by those with dead soulmates, those whose soulmarks had started fading and the ink of the letters smudging together. Better have everyone pity her with the assumption of a dead soulmate than ruin her and her families reputations.

I've just finally seen some Fun Malware. Where it's like weird, obfuscated but not so much that it's total gibberish, but in a way that's pretty blindingly obviously malicious. I don't have the powershell knowledge to decode it myself easily, it'd probably take a week of studying at least to do it by hand, and I don't have a sandbox to run it and look at the logs. Malware analysis is not my thing, it's kind of a fucking nightmare. However. This is Code Analysis, and programming is the interest that started my entire career.
