It seemed a peculiar tradition, though one Ophilia watches with interested bemusement. It makes her think of the arena, of fighting for joy and honour -- so much that she can’t help but imagine Olberic taking over the competition if he was here. A soft smile surfacing -- somewhat sad, perhaps, if you were to look at the right moment -- she turns to move away from the sword dancing, stopping only as a young boy stops her in her tracks.

She tilts her head, surprised. “A partner...?” Her face flushes, as she laughs politely. “Well, I’m hardly an expert with a sword -- but it’s all in good fun, isn’t it?” Her own embarrassment was hardly anything in comparison to ignoring the request of a child.

    ❝ my keyblade... looks like sora’s? ❞ the comment this passerby makes somehow amuses her, yet also confuses her. there’s a sense of familiarity from him that seems misplaced, but perhaps it was simply due to his connection with sora. it always seemed to be the case, after all. the brunet seemed to have a plethora of connections that baffled her ( but it was nice to know so many people kept him in their heart just as he kept them in his ).

    “well... it’s not as though i took it from him,” she assures, sounding and looking awkward. “it’s... mine.” sort of. if she were borrowing it from sora, but was still able to have it despite him also having it, doesn’t that make it hers? just thinking about it made her head ache, just a tad. 

    after a pause, she shakes her head, sighing. “it’s a little... complicated, i guess.” absolutely complicated.

     alright - axel’s made up his mind. 

     whistles are, in fact, fuckin’ creepy. 

     not that it took much convincing. just seeing one of them out there in the great white was enough to creep him out. admittedly, axel may have taken out some of his frustration on the thing - it’s been a while since he’s been able to seriously use his chakrams in combat. that definitely resulted in an overkill sort of situation... but overkill’s better than getting his life-force sucked out of him or something equally shitty, right?

     in fact, he was able to make such short work of the thing that axel didn’t even realize that he was bleeding until he got back to the village. the sight of red blood dripping on the snow - as well as the literal trail of it behind him - made him pale. raising his arm and feeling that sharp zing of pain, he realized that he was totally sliced on the arm. the attack tore through his coat and his skin. when did that even happen?! 

     after thinking about just ignoring it (and potentially dying in some gruesome way) or treating it himself (and potentially dying in yet another gruesome way), he decided to head on over to the warmhouse and get it checked out by someone who actually knows what they’re doing.  

     “it’s not a big deal,” he tells the person who works here. “didn’t even feel it when it happened.” he grimaces. “must’ve been that stupid thing’s claws. what the hell’s up with those whistles, anyway?”
