saints how do we feel about barty going through a vampire phase? his hair is already naturally brown but he dyed it the darkest color he could find, exept for his money piece, instead he box dyes it red (he hates the red and removes it immediately). he tries to be mysterious around people (it doesn't work), he's always talking in a strange voice. he grows out of it in abt three months.

ve i love the vision but i can’t be an impartial judge i’m biased…. my barty would never be this corny in his LIFE. the way i headcanon him i don’t think barty ever tried to go for a specific “look” until pretty late in his life (i’m talking 18-19) and that was when all the piercings and tattoos and chains and raggedy mesh shirts started making an appearance.

i’m very charmed by the idea of barty as a younger teenager still being a complete menace but he’s just in like a plain hoodie and some old jeans. smoking a ciggie but his hair is tawnier brown and you can see the dusting of freckles better without all the shit in the way. however pandora is NOT beating the dedicated preteen vampire phase allegations

　　➺ He truly does enjoy trying out new food, though, when it comes to actual meal times! Even if his stomach might be a little sensitive, at first. Come dinner or lunch? Then, and only then, does he see it necessary to pay top dollar for the best service.

About Work in progress, normally if we have it clear after the sketch both, me and the client, I usually show him the commission when I finished, however if you aren´t sure you can always ask for a WIP in a semi-finalized state for example. In case of character design and custom adoptable  WIPS follow some stages like sketch ⮞ lineart (if any) ⮞ flat color ⮞ final for example.

About references and design. Please notice the difference between custom and character design. Character design is a broad option to visualize an idea, it incorporates a design search with several sketches, color search, etc. While a custom (or a normal commission in which you want me to design an outfit from your description or / and visual references) is a more concrete design with a single sketch (subject to partial or total changes).

The payment currency is in EUR , but if the client has an express preference to pay in USD, he can mention it in the commission note. In parentheses the guidance  cost in USD is expressed (as it´s subject to course variations, you can always check it on the pages dedicated to it).

Customer satisfaction for me is a top priority, so please  if the deadline is extended it´s by necessity and not by whim or forgetfulness.

 Hello,

 So we have finally reached another year happy 2021! let's all hope this year will be kind to us, as I have mentioned in my previous favorites post, I finished my work term and now will be working on my art more

so please look out for more art coming soon!

also this maybe a little too early to think of but I was thinking of opening an etsy store to sells stickers/ keychains, this was a project that was on my mind for many years actually, but I have never really considered starting it

I would also like some ideas as to what type of characters from what show would you like to see merchandise from. I know there are some franchises that are not well known and most people wouldn’t be able to find so much as a fanart of that particular character/show

so if you could all let me know what you’d like to see in the shop I will highly consider it, with that being said I don't have any anime recs this month, mainly cause I was very busy in the month of December and have not watched any dramas or anime in a while,

so just a heads up, that part will not be included this month. The only thing I was watching is bunch of end of the year award shows, so like the drama awards and melon music awards and MAMA awards...haha that seems really boring to discuss so i'll skip that.

My friend and I were discussing and thought that they should rename these music awards as the BTS awards because they won so many lol.

MANHWA/MANGA/WEBTOONS

 This section of the favorites is on fire! you don’t even know how far deep the rabbit hole i`ve dug myself into.

I finally was able to save my progress and crawl back up to list a few of my favorites/ updates of the old favorites and a special segment to ones that triggered a raging response due to utter frustration

Let’s start with a review of the manhwa I have read and discussed so far

 so some updates on the previous ones that I have listed out so far, with the exception of the completed ones.

 1) Who's baby is it? ; last time I read up to chapter 72 and now they have up to chapter 126 and I have to say so much more has happened in terms of story and relationship development and I especially love the development between

yi yun and his relationship with jinyao, they are acting more and more like a married couple without even knowing it. You see a gradual change within the two of them that shifts from being very comfortably being able to talk about their problems to one another to

physical touches that would make them  both nervous, I don't mean physical in a sexual way...it's not at that point yet, it's just holding hands and being near each other makes them, nervous and as an audience I felt that nervous energy

and it makes as the audience appreciate the development even if it is slow, it becomes more realistic over time.

Needless to say, I am still a giant fan girl of this author and her story and I can't wait to see this week’s chapter

 2) social temp; I said that I have read the novel so I pretty much knows what happened in the new chapters that were just out, this manhwa is updating a little slow so I have to wait to really comment

When they go further, there is a scene soon that will be the turning point of their relationship so I am excited to see that in the manhwa

 3) salad days; There is also a slow development here as well in terms of relationship building, so far they are working on their careers as professionals and dealing with bullying and jealousy from their peers

But it's all part of life so I appreciate that the author included these aspects as an important part of the story and not just focusing on romance alone.

 4) To be or not to be; you'd think a person who had studied Chinese for 8 years would be able to read the raws....nope,LOL

So far the story is going into a good direction so I'm hoping to see how this new development will play out in their relationship

 5) no way vampires don't exist; I have and fanart and long post dedicated to this alone, so please refer to those for more details. I am happy this is updating again and hopefully all of it will be translated in no time for others to enjoy

Okay so that is all for the old ones that I have read, I will include updates throughout my favorites now and then if it is still ongoing.

now let's look at some new ones that I have found this month, these are just a few of the ones I selected out to talk about, but I have read much more as I have said and these were the ones that were the most memorable

 1) Unintentional love story- "Wonyoung gets unjustly suspended from work after getting caught up in a corruption scandal. But when he accidentally discovers the chairman's favorite artist Yoon Taejun living under an alias, he is tasked with a tricky new mission. Could this be Wonyoung's chance to get his job back?"

 This is the summary from the licensed lezhin website, and it pretty much sums up the story, it is still ongoing right now so I can only comment on how I feel about it so far.

I really like this story its really straight forward and focuses mainly on the two characters and how their relationship went from business partners to eventual lovers

it has minimal drama and works on moving the relationship buildup between the two main characters and I really appreciate that, it makes me less frustrated, since you know there is always that one a-hole that will never take no for an answer

i will discuss that later for the other ones I plan to discuss. But so far the story is straight forward and cute, and I really like wonyoung he is really adorable. This is a manhwa but not in the form of a webtoon, so it's black and white and read in traditional manga style

if you like a straight forward story and development please give this a read, you will enjoy it.

 2) Karasugaoka Don't Be Shy!! - "Sou Izuhara, the leader of the crime prevention group "VOICE" that protects east Karasugaoka, realizes he's in love with the man he keeps butting heads with and leader of the rival group "Karasukai," Tetsuji Shinba...!?"

 omg finally a manga recommendation? lol. you have no idea how much trouble I had remembering the title of this manga, I didn’t save it into my bookmarks and I usually did that if I was going to talk about it in the favorites.

I went through 5 websites to figure out the name but at least it was found. This story is both comedic and cute and it was a perfect break from the dark stuff I have been reading, I don't believe it has been updated in while so I'm not sure if it will ever be picked up

but there is a decent amount of chapters to get started on. But as the description says that it is a story about two crime prevention group leaders, they look like thugs but they prevent crimes from happening, so like an anti bullying campaign that recruits volunteers. two of the leaders from the largest groups apparently doesn’t get a long

on the surface but one of the leaders Izuhara really in fact admires the other leader Shinba. they start to get along after shiba went to izuharas territory to take care of some suspicious activity on that side and accidentally discovers a whole new side to izuhara due to the fact that he wasn’t wearing his glasses and didn’t know he was talking to shinba

and invited him to hang out together for that day. lol. You probably know the direction this is heading; it all starts from interest in a person right?

anways, I never recommended a  manga yet so this would be a good one to read,it has a balance of a good romantic comedy.  

 3) Semantic Error- "Computer science major Chu Sangwoo is the epitome of an inflexible and strict rule-abiding person. While working on a liberal arts group project with freeloaders who don’t put in any effort, Sangwoo reasonably decides to remove their names from the final presentation. But he didn’t imagine how involved he would become with the person whose study-abroad plans were messed up because of that project. The involved person: the campus star who everyone knows, Department of Design’s Jang Jaeyoung. He has everything from skills, looks, family background and good relationships except for 1 big problem: Chu Sangwoo. What happens when an engineer and an artist whose personalities are like oil and water have to work together? Jang Jaeyoung is like a semantic error in the perfect world of Chu Sangwoo. Will Sangwoo be able to debug this?"

 this has got to be one of the most accurate portrays of an antagonist relationship start off ever, it was really comedic and relatable at the same time, if you are in current group assignments and are or have suffered the same as sangwoo, please let me know cause I know I have.lol.

there’s only 16 chapters so far and I believe it hasn’t been updated in a while either so I don’t know if it is discontinued or not.

I can't wait to see the development between the two male leads, because their relationship right now in the manhwa is really hilarious and worth the read.

side note, not that this will ever be considered as a k-drama but I would like to see sangwoo being played by kim soo hyun, because he looks like him in the drama it's okay not to be okay.

 4) Tied up in twins- " The story starts off with three friends Jiwoo, sohee and woojung who had been friends since high school began to developed complicated feeling towards one another, woojung had been in love with sohee and sohee had been in love with jiwoo who was in love with woojung, things turned for the worse when jiwoo got drunk one night out and decided to confess his feelings to woojung by going to his apartment, he found 'woojung' standing outside and invited him to go drinking, he finally was able to let out his feelings and 'woojung ' accepted them without hesitation. Jiwoo felt like he was on cloud nine at the moment and slept with 'woojung' that night after thier feelings were made mutual. Turns out 'woojung ' was not actually woojung himself but his twin brother sarang, not knowing this fact he spots sarang with a man from his past eunji that used to bully him during his military service which made him confused and angry that 'woojung ' might be playing with his feelings. Sarang then confessed that he is the twin brother  of woojung and both of them decided that that night was a mistake and that they should just forget about it as it didn't happen. Of course fate had other plans as they keep running into each other during difficult times and decided to become friends. It didn't take them long to be attracted to one another which lead them to end their previous relationship, sarang especially was suffering from his cheating boy friend's abuse and jiwoo with his one sided feelings for woojung. After a series of events sarang and jiwoo found that their feeling for each other were mutual and started to dating, which poses a lot more obstacles than either of the two had bargained for...."

ooo now it's time for the fun part.LOL. Now let me just say that there is sometimes a fine line that defines what shounen ai and Yaoi are, sometimes stories is listed as both because one story that starts off like shounen ai will suddenly become yaoi

I define yaoi as a story that includes all the things that i'm uncomfortable with, which is emotional trauma from sexual abuse, sexual harassment and rape, physical abuse, suicide etc

 these stories usually include some or all of the listed above and could make you uncomfortable in many ways, so as a warning if you are bothered by any of that even a little please don't read the ones I’m about to list, because there is a lot of it and there are situations that made me really sick while reading them. on the upside there is a lot of whole heartedness from the love scenes between the two main characters, although it’s like pages of sex scenes, you know from reading that it is between two people that love and trust each other.

 so you have been warned, i'm not going to spoil it in terms of story but there is something these ones i chose out have in common and that is a SICK A-HOLE THAT EVERY PERSON WANTS TO KILL.You should have seen all those comments about calling sangwoo (killing stalking) to kill theses mofos and I could agree more, these disgusting human beings made me sick.

 so let's begin...btw these are in no particular order, I was going to list these from the least worthy of dieing to most worthy of dieing but you know in the end they should just all die...lol.

1) My Suha -"A skillful secretary by day and choosy cruiser by night, Suha is a young professional who’s in search of some no-strings-attached action. He hasn’t had much luck lately, though, since a handsome face doesn’t always match what’s in a guy’s pants. This might be why he finds himself wondering about his dreamboat boss, Director Park Jiwoon. But there’s no way he can mix business with pleasure… That is, until Jiwoon and Suha run into each other in the gay bar bathroom."

 so where to begin, um this pretty much includes all those listed above but it mainly focuses on the relationship between jiwoon and Suha, and it is not abusive and very loving in fact,I'm glad that they show the contrast between how suha's previous realtionships don't work out because of his trauma

and how jiwoon despite being an unwanted heir in his grandmother's eyes was able to give love and protection to the person that matters to him the most. So there's this scum bag...I even forgot his name but the red haired dude in this story he`s the legitimate heir to the family, who is the absolute worse and not only sexually abused Suha when they were younger and also emotionally scar both jiwoon and suha

making them feel incapable of being loved. I didn’t get a good feeling form him when he was first introduced and I was right...lol. But at least the comments section was in agreement; let me sum up my feelings in the form of this gif alone...

 you get the point...

I heard it was going to finish soon so hopefully these emotional scars can be resolved and that suha and jiwoon stick together to get through it all. That would be a good ending for them after everything they have been through.You really need to read it in order to under stand why these events happen the way they do but please remember that suha`s inability to feel love stems from the all of his previous relationships not lasting long yes...but started with this red haired mofo. I am never going to let this dude live, let`s just say that.

2) Crash into me- " Seung-chan is stressed. He has enough on his plate with the long hours at work, and now he can’t even get any rest at home! Every night, the lustful moaning and violent banging from the apartment upstairs keeps him awake. Just as he’s at his wits’ end, he chances upon the gorgeous, enigmatic Hyesung outside his building. Surely all those filthy sounds couldn’t be coming from such a pretty mouth? But as Seung-chan soon finds out, there’s a lot more to Hyesung"

 from that little description you’ve probably figured out what’s going on with the neighbour next door keeping seung chan awake right? well no surprise sexual abuse, after hyesung was forced to suffer from a ordeal that wasn't his fault the brother of the person that died made it seem like it was his fault and sexually assaulted him

and so this ongoing sexual abuse progressed for several years which lead hyesung feel like life is meaningless and he should just die, until he locked eyes with seung chan walking back to the apartment and thought of jumping out the window, because he had a strange feeling that seungchan who he has not met before would catch him if he did.

I just almost cried from what I just wrote...to think there’s is some a-hole out there that would drive a person to suicide like that just to satisfy his own needs or whatever...i don't even know cause it’s still ongoing...i don’t think any amount of back story will justify any kind of sympathy for this person..

from what I have read so far it seems so be going ending soon so i hope seungchan and hyesung will be able to get through all this and live in peace because of suengchan, hyesung was able to love again and find his worth and is able to fight for himself and I’m sincerely glad that he had met and trust him whole heartedly.

3) Dine with vampire- "Caught in the clutches of an abusive relationship, Sooin longs to escape. A vampire who finds human blood repulsive, Chi-hwan only drinks the blood of other vampires. When chance brings the two together, Chi-hwan makes Sooin an enticing proposal. Chi-hwan will help Sooin get out of his living hell, and in exchange… Sooin has to let Chihwan drink his blood. Will this proposal change both their lives for the better?”

 y'all don't even get me started on the mofo in this story....I’ve never felt so much rage from staring at a 2D character on my screen, the amount of times I hissed at him...you don't even know

like I have mentioned before ever since my twilight phase I didn’t consume anything vampire related in a while, I don't really care much for the vampire aspect but I guess it's still important over all

once you start the first chapter you will immediately know why I hate the harry potter a-hole in this story..he is despicable and that’s putting it lightly...but you know he doesn’t last long cause vampire tsukiyama (lol, not his name but they look alike) shows up and kills the mofo

and saves sooin who is the person who harry potter had been sexually abusing...to the point where you guessed it, he wanted to die.

chi hwan agrees to grant any wish sooin wanted in exchange for his blood because being vampire by nature he had not been drawn to anyone’s blood for some reason and had only consumed the blood of other vampires.

of course it was a small price to pay for sooin considering all the misery he had gone through. slowly sooin discovered that love was not abusive through the many times chi hwan...lmao i almost called him tsukiyama again...and he had sex, he discovered that it was safe and gentle and enjoyable

 so that's all i'm going to rant about for these yaoi titles...i had to go back and read some it again to know what i'm going to write about and i revisited a lot of things i’d rather not.I think the rage I felt was ignited again all of a sudden and I felt utter frustration to finish reading it again, what I am trying to say is, ya`ll need to read this once and that`s it...these aren`t stories you`d want to revisit.lol

My Top 10 Albums of 2019

2019 presented me with a handful of incredible events and memories (I turned 30, I got married, etc.), while also serving me a big challenge (my partner is temporarily living on the other side of the country). In a poetic world, these things would have a significant impact on the music that I listened to and loved, but no, not really. This year is pretty on the nose for me, music-wise. Oh, except that I got really into Taylor Swift in the second half of the year.

Before we hop into boring Steve's boring top 10 list, let's revisit the 2018 list. The only album on the list that I barely listened to in 2019 was Cardi's Invasion of Privacy. Everything else gets at least semi-regular spins, although I'd elevate Historian, boygenius, and Big Red Machine above these others.

My biggest disappointment this year was Charli XCX's CHARLI, which is a solid album, but it didn't grab me nearly as much as Pop 2 did a couple years ago. It hasn't stuck in my rotation.

Runners up:

Bon Iver - "i,i" (I love it when I listen to it, but for some reason I'm not often compelled to listen to it)

Ariana Grande - "thank u, next" (Staple of early 2019, but fell off)

Carly Rae Jepsen - "Dedicated" (Great, but I'd rather listen to E•MO•TION)

Taylor Swift - "Lover" (Some true standout tracks, like Lover and Paper Rings, but too many cloyboys and CRJ rip-offs)

Weyes Blood - "Titanic Rising" (I could see this growing on me over the years, like a Radiohead record)

10. Big Thief – U.F.O.F

Early in the year, I "discovered" Big Thief. I don't know how I missed them before. Specifically, the song "Masterpiece" got right up in my brain and has been hanging out there since. Then Big Thief gave us U.F.O.F. which was yet another great Big Thief album. See #3 below.

9. Andrew Bird – My Finest Work Yet

Look, I'll stop putting Andrew Bird records on my end-of-year lists when he stops making them.

Andrew Bird turned a corner with the release of Are You Serious where he basically acknowledged that he was now going to work with other people and write scrutable songs. It was a good album, but My Finest Work Yet refines this Andrew Bird 2.0 and delivers some of his... finest work yet ("Sisyphus," "Manifest," "Olympians"). While I still prefer earlier Andrew Bird (A Nervous Tic Motion into Fake Palindromes into Measuring Cups... my gosh, that's 10 incredible minutes of music), I understand why he's moved on to something else.

8. JPEGMAFIA – All My Heroes Are Cornballs

I've been in a rap rut. Kanye is putting out self-indulgent gospel albums. Chance and Drake are boring now. JAY Z is working with the NFL.

But the rut is mostly a lack of imagination on my part. There's a lot of rap out there that hasn't made it through my naive filter, and I want to seek more of it out in 2020. Case in point: JPEGMAFIA. He's weird, political, funny... all the things that the aforementioned rappers aren't (or at least, aren't anymore). All My Heroes Are Cornballs is the most hypnotic rap album I've listened to in years. The glitchy beats and effortless flow makes it impossible to turn off mid-album.

7. BROCKHAMPTON – Ginger

GINGER is a proper follow-up to the SATURATION trilogy. While Iridescence had some good tracks on it, the overall experience was jarring (not without reason, given what the group was going through with Ameer). GINGER reads (ok, plays) like an album in a way that the Saturations never did. While it may be spiritually linked to the Satursation, it's a complete departure sonically. Even though it's more constrained and less bombastic than their hits from that era, it feels much bigger and, ahem, More Important. That might not be to the taste of some of their fans, but I'm happy to have both versions of BROCKHAMPTON in my music library.

6. Lana Del Rey – Norman Fucking Rockwell!

Music publications couldn't get over the fact that on NFR!, Lana, yes LANA DEL REY, was wordsmithing at a high level. Is it that hard to believe that someone would become a better poet as they gained more life experiences, inching closer to the mystical 10,000 hours? Some of the praise may have gone a little overboard (and, frankly, seems rooted in a narrow, misogynistic view of Who Can Do Music Good™️™️™️), but I agree with the underlying principle of the praise: that this is a collection of well written and well performed songs. It has my favorite album closer of the year, "Hope Is a Dangerous Thing for a Woman Like Me to Have - but I Have It." I get chills just thinking about it.

5. Clairo – Immunity

I enjoyed my first listen.

On my second listen, I wondered if it was maybe too simple. I didn't listen again for several months.

But then, when I was working from Pittsburgh the week before Christmas, I listened again. And I couldn't stop listening. It's simpler music than many of the albums on this list, but it appeals to me for the same reason I had a fixation with Snail Mail's Lush this year: it's incredible that songs that sound so "simple" (and I truly do not mean simple in an insulting way) can still be different than anything we've heard before, and can still transfix us in new ways. Behold ye, the power of combinatorics!

4. Vampire Weekend – Father of the Bride

Channel Orange to Blonde was 4 years. There's nothing you can do to get your favorite artists to make music faster. There's some beauty in that... that if an artist is financially successful enough, they don't need to rush.

Modern Vampires of the City to Father of the Bride was 6 years (i.e., 20% of my lifetime). But at least there are no duds here, and "Harmony Hall" might sneak into my hypothetical favorite-songs-of-all-time pantheon.

3. Big Thief – Two Hands

Oh, but then a few months later, Big Thief gave us another album. They started working on it right after they finished U.F.O.F, which tracks based on every interview I've read with Adrianne Lenker. She talked about the insane touring and album release schedule they've been on in the past four years, but her point wasn't "I'm getting tired," but rather "let's see if I can do this forever." I saw them play at The Fillmore after they released Two Hands and I got the sense that Adrianne has to make and perform music. She was uncomfortable engaging in the standard nearly-identical pleasantries that artists share with the audience. She was shy. She was surprised to find that we were hanging on her every word and chord. It was relatable. She's the closest to a genius I've seen in an indie rock band in the last several years, although I'm sure she'd hate anyone calling her that.

That genius produced Two Hands, an affecting indie rock record that practically demands that you close your eyes because you need to experience it and only it.

2. Tyler, the Creator – IGOR

This year, I listened to IGOR over and over again. The hooks, verses, beats, and vibe are all infectious. Boring Steve says "hey, look, it's just a great album." I don't have a deeper thought about it. I eagerly await Tyler's next project.

1. Nilüfer Yanya – Miss Universe

This year, like 2009 a decade ago, was an exciting year to be an indie rock fan. Vampire Weekend and Bon Iver cemented their elder ("elder") statesperson statuses, Big Thief came into their own as a true force of nature, and acts like Clairo and Nilüfer made me extremely jazzed about the Ghost of Indie Future.

Nilüfer has a unique and delightful voice that punches through some really fun songwriting and arrangements. Like, what a dumb, awesome lyric:

Miss Universe is her debut full-length album, and it's a lovable and off-kilter thesis statement for what I assume will be a lovable and off-kilter music career. I can better explain why some of the other albums on this list are great, but suffice it to say, the system rewards unique performances.

NOOOOO. i would be devastated bc WHY THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE. i mean i had to wait three seasons to see them get engaged (was i fully aware they were getting married thanks to the short? of course but still i screamed like crazy when they got engaged) and let´s face it, they love each other way too much to ever break up.

Has there ever been any folklore about Werewolves running across other mythological creatures/appearing in other myths that don't revolve specifically about the werewolf(ves) in question? I'm wondering if there was a cross-pollination.

Not really, to be honest, or at least not off the top of my head (which is entirely dedicated to werewolves, my writing, and Chris Redfield, and has a lot of disc space), but I’m fairly certain that even if I scratched through my notes and everything there wouldn’t really be a monster story that featured a side character werewolf or even one focusing on a werewolf that featured other monsters.

Werewolves, unlike in so much of the popular culture of the most recent times, are generally a solo act.

If there’s any mention of werewolves in a story about/including something else, it’s generally something like an Arthurian legend in which werewolves might get name-dropped but not appear (I’m saying this hypothetically, though; there was a werewolf, Sir Marrok, in Arthurian legend, but I don’t remember if he was referred to in texts other than his own). There are also, of course, accounts of witches that might include the brief mention of lycanthropy as - basically - being a thing.

The closest you’ll get are some of the old Scandinavian sagas, where berserkers and sometimes werewolves will appear in stories with other creatures. For instance, Sigmund and Sinfjotli, with SIgmund being the son of Sigurd the dragon-slayer. They turned into wolves together, and Sinfjotli was accused separately of being a werewolf anyway.

Norse sagas are very good for combined legends, as they were stories that existed within their greater mythology, not individual little folklore tales from a particular countryside.

But duo monster stories, like werewolves running around in something that focuses on a vampire, or some other monster appearing in a story otherwise about a werewolf? Not so much.

Well this is the first time I've seen a theory about WHY Rashid might be a vampire pretending to be Louis' human assistant. I still think it'd ve a bit convoluted. And I still think Rashid and Louis dynamic could absolutely be read as Rashid being a dedicated and trusted human companion. But I'm also more open to the idea of Rashid being a vampire if there is *some* explanation as to why.

Monthly Update

Hello everyone, missed you all so much. I hope you are all having a nice and relaxed Wednesday. Weekend is almost here (almost) ❤

My month is a bit crazy, full of doctor’s appointment, huge holiday and lots to do overall. From the start of November, I am really hoping to do some changes… Some I’ve already started. You might have already noticed but if not… I’ve changed my blog theme and I really love it Also doing some changes to old and new posts and I have a few other projects I am working on right now.

For now… I am waiting for next week where I will have a bit more time on my hands and I will be able to start working harder on every goal I have. But until then… I’m waiting.

Today, I am having a day at home, which I am dedicating to relaxing (finally). My entire body hurts and I feel exhausted pretty much every day, these days. I thought today is the best day to update you on some of my goals and some of the things that I did this month (which is not a lot, lol).

Writing:

From the start of the month, I knew that I won’t have much time to editing or writing, due to a long holiday and a lot of doctor’s appointments for my mom. So no editing/writing at all this month. I did start to work on my new outline, so I can’t wait for NaNo to start this year.

Reading:

Well… Here I have some progress I wanted to re-read the Harry Potter Series and I am so happy that I finished the entire series These books always inspires me and fills my energies, for writing and more reading ❤

Home:

I did manage to do a few thing around the house, but not as much as I wanted.

I also had some time to re-watch some series like Buffy The Vampire Slayer and finally had a bit of gaming time (wish I had more though).

Already planned out the last week and a half weeks of October and I am getting very excited for NaNo, and maybe even achieve some of my November goals.

WOLF 2 Literally came out when my entire freaking family was tested as COVID +ve, (we’re all fit and fine and fantastic now) 

BUT My mother’s diagnose at the time was well, acting up, to put it in the most ambiguous of terms, and I remember crying myself to dangerous levels of dehydration and just feeling like SHIT the first time I got the news in the hospital, and the worst part was that I was in the ICU too (since I was also tested covid+ve ), just on the other fucking side of the hospital, away from my family, and my then suffering mom. 

I couldn’t bloody stop crying, and was just so scared and alone, the nurses appointed for my care were worried, that I’d cry myself faint, YES they were worried I’d literally pass out from crying, and they were using all methods of distraction and diversion to just STOP me from behaving like the literal BLACK-HOLE OF HOPELESS GLOOM,

one such nurse finally decided, fuck protocol we’re bringing in her phone and giving it to her, the phone can be completely sanitised and disinfected before and after it gets to her, and so there, she can text friends or family, or whatever and keep herself distracted, 

I swear I’ve never been more thankful in my entire existence, for someone breaking medical protocol in places regarding my actual life.

I tried calling my extended family living out of state or texting friends, but hell as soon as the ringtone picked or if I saw them texting back I shut it off, I couldn’t bloody deal with it. I couldn’t see or hear my phone straight through all the snot and tears on my face, so like just imagine, a BIG FCKING MESS just sitting there,

AND then I decide to aimlessly scroll through Tumblr, (an app I hadn’t touched in months)

 and damnit out of NOWHERE

I admit, I didn’t bloody pounce on it or anything, hell I scrolled past it just as indifferently as any other post, still sniffing every two seconds and just wanting to be swallowed up.

But I knew in the back of my mind I’ll revisit the post later and I did.

It was around 3:00 am, dead in the night, when I got so restless, I threw off my covers, sat up and just listened, the only thing keeping me company was the incessant beeping of all the monitors of the 8 or so patients sharing the ICU ward with me. literally nothing else, even the nurses constant chatter ceased, and the next thing I know, my hand of it’s own accord grabs my phone opens ao3 and dives headfirst into Wolf 2, 

I didn’t even notice I had read through 3 chapters in one hour until one very, very annoyed and extremely worried nurse walked into my cubicle to check on me only to find me curled up on my side, my phone inches from my eyes and a tiny smile on my face,

I mean I swear the nurse did everything short of pumping her fists in the air and yelling “YESS! FINALLY THE BITCH STOPS LEAKING LIKE FAULTY fcking PLUMBING”

but she was not having any of my ‘imma pull an all-nighter in an ICU to read QUALITY LITERATURE’ stunt, and shoved my head into the pillow and said ‘I’ll hold it there till you drift sweetie, don’t even try me.”

 well not literally but you get the point.

But here’s the thing, My Mom is having insidiously low levels of oxygen in her blood, my 11 and 14 yr old brothers are in another part of the hospital, probably playing fortnite with the male nurses, and my dad who has chronic hypertension and blood sugar (afflictions that do not fcking help covid recovery whatsoever)  was bed-ridden unconscious in the fourth corner. 

And here I am going to sleep with a smile etched on my face, expectant and excited to wake up the next day and continue reading.

I mean I wanted to pass out with the help of sleeping pills not an hour ago and maybe not wake up for a good week and a half, and now here I am actually looking forward to the next day. 

DO YOU FCKING UNDERSTAND HOW IMPACTFUL YOU’RE WRITING IS??  

I mean after that, I didnt put my phone down, unless i was connected with my family through the intercom, or when my meals were being delivered.

I read through the entire first half you posted in the 8 days I was quarantined in the hospital.

I laughed, I CRIED, I think I kinda YELLED OUT IN SHEER FRUSTRATION in the middle of the night when any particularly angsty part, especially CAROLIJAH part came on, I mean I was so lost in this universe you’ve created, you’ve authored. And  I felt a myriad of emotions that were so strong it couldn’t be swallowed up by my own blackhole state of mind.

AND NONE OF THESE EMOTIONS HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH My diagnosis, The hundred different blood tests I had taken and their results,  my mom’s stubbornly un-improving state. or any of the other thing on my endless list of ‘the sky above thee shall crash down upon thy skull’ things happening around me.

The FIC did not make the helplessness i felt disappear, It didn’t, that only disappeared after my family left the hospital fully recovered and perfectly fine.

 But did it fight tooth and nail to nullify any and all depressive thoughts I was feeling by shifting my focus, ABSOLUTELY. was it so powerfully eclipsing that I could afford to drift silently into my safe haven away from all the NOISE. GOD YES.

MY BRAIN AFTER A FEW DAYS POST RECOVERY HAD THE AUDACITY TO SUGGEST FEELING GUILTY ABOUT ENJOYING YOUR WORK SO THOROUGHLY DURING SUCH A HARD TIME.

and my heart was having none of it, it yelled back

“FUCK you, FUCK YOU BACK TO THE DERANGED RECESSES OF CONSCIOUS SELF-FLAGELLATION YOU CAME FROM, BECAUSE It’s the tiny seemingly insignificant, usually sidelined things in life that bring you the most happiness, and you shouldn’t bloody feel SORRY for that.”

“IF all it takes is A CANON FIX-IT klaro-baby-trope fanfic of a show that ended years ago with half the characters you love dead, to alleviate this all- consuming hopelessness you feel, it DOES NOT mean you’re shallow, it just shows how DEEP you’ve delved into this one singular character and brought her to life in your mind that she’s your personal mentor, flawleslly flawed gold standard and friend that you CANNOT possibly think to part with. And if you found an author who translates this fairy god mother of yours in the most intricately beautiful FAULTLESS way, onto paper, you shouldnt fcking feel sorry.”

and NO, I don’t feel sorry for enjoying your work and falling in love with it, over and over and over again, because it was so bloody worth it, and it literally PULLED me through such an uprooting period of my life, I mean there was so much fear and worry in my heart but for the few brief hours I read your work, YOU were so commanding of my attention, my heart and my mind, that i could escape into this Haven. Drift away from the worries and just revel in the Gloriousness that is KLAROLINE.

SO YEAH.

PHEW THAT WAS A RANT AND A HALF.

BUT YOU NEEDED TO KNOW THAT, I WAS SCEPTICAL ABOUT SHARING SOMETHING SO PRIVATE, BUT YOU DESERVE TO KNOW JUST HOW TOUCHING YOUR WORK IS, AND JUST NEVER FCKING EVER STOP WRITING. IT DOESNT HAVE TO BE KLAROLINE OR EVEN FANFICTION, JUST DONT STOP WRITING, BECAUSE YOU’LL BE RIDDING A LOT OF PEOPLE OFF THEIR SAFE PLACE. and that’s just rude.

I dont think there’s any smooth way to end this rant so I’ll just leave it here.

Here’s the thing, folks. 

Private messages are amazing. I really love it when people decide to come over for a random chat, or to tell me they’ve enjoyed reading something I wrote. Honestly, I’m sure you’ve heard this from a million people before, but it’s all so very true: it’s THE BEST THING to know there’s people out there appreciating something you’ve done. I know fanfiction, like fanart, and fan edits, and any other kind of awesome content people produce as a form of tribute to something they like, is free, but it actually costs something to the people producing it, even if it’s just time. It’s made for fun, but it’s BRILLIANT when you come and tell me you have liked my fanfiction, or that you’re eager for an update, or that you like my writing so much you’d like to see me write something else. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE IT and appreciate it and it makes me SO, SO, SO happy. Please, don’t stop doing that, ever!

But the best way to really support content producers is to help the content reach more people, and the way to do that is to either reblog a post here on tumblr, or leave a comment on FF.net or AO3, or kudos, or something that will help the story/whatever be seen by others. I know I’m writing this exclusively from a fanfiction perspective because it’s what I do, but I’m sure it’s true for all sorts of content.

When someone is looking for something new to read, they tend to navigate to the stories with the most number of kudos, or favs, or reviews. Sometimes people read the reviews before they start the story. I’m guilty of that. When I first joined fandom, a billion years too late, I went straight for the most famous stories and authors. When you know a lot of people have enjoyed something, chances of you enjoying it as well are greater. So some people only ever go to writers they already know, or stories they’ve already started, or stories that are being validated by lots of reblogs from people they know, or getting recced by people they know and trust. Which is why it’s so important to help content creators that you like reach new people by showing your friends and followers and general corner of the fandom that you like what they do.

I’m new here, I have very few followers and I’m not at all among the most popular people on AO3 or FF.net, though I might be among the most active at the moment. But sometimes my stuff gets so, so few hits I start to wonder if it’s even worth to continue writing stuff. And you might say ‘Hey, GalvanizedFriend, don’t judge us for no reblogging your stuff. It’s my blog, I’ll post what I want, I’ll rec who I want, people just don’t like your stuff that much, suck it up’. And it’s all very true and fair enough. I just have to deal with it and either keep going anyway, or grab my things and leave. My prerogative, no one’s fault. 

But on the off chance that what I’m saying actually makes sense - or that I might end up helping other people, because this isn’t just about me, it’s about EVERYONE - please consider reblogging more posts, reccing more stuff, and leaving reviews on the actual stories, because that will encourage more people to give it a chance. It’s really, really helpful and it makes people feel more excited about doing new stuff and continuing to contribute to keep the fandom alive (which I guess it’s important in my particular case ‘cause the shows are done and dusted and literally characters are dead, lol).

1. FOR VIX: Half-hellhound and half-human, she's the daughter of the underworld Goddess' most high-ranking member of the Queen's Guard and one of the oldest and originating hellhounds.  

Plot ideas for her, especially for magical folk, include:

a summoning spell being cast which invokes Vix as your muse's familiar.

running into a giant black dog with red eyes that's the size of a dumpster.

bonding with other underworld creatures.

Vix, being a master of  petty theft, stealing from your muse and dealing with the consequences.

2. FOR EDEN:

A cat sidhe (fairy cat or cat of the fae) whose profession is to act as a guide/guardian to new supernaturals or troublesome supernaturals in order to ensure their success as well as to preserve the secrecy of the supernatural community from humans.

Plot ideas for her include:

her becoming your muse's (who can be either a new supernatural or a trouble-causing one) sidhe.

binding her by oath in some way (as an oath-bound species, she can be tricked or talked into oaths of which she must carry out no matter what they are).

time period verses, as Eden is several millennia old.

3. FOR MY (4) PHOENIXES, GENERAL:

Save for Air (which, ... #soon), I have phoenixes for every species (Fire, Earth, Water, & Spirit). There’s a whole world, culture, and political climate for the phoenix race for us to explore!

General plot ideas for any of the phoenixes:

your muse obtaining a tail-feather of theirs which will bind the phoenix to your muse as guardian/protector/etc. as long as the phoenix remains in its current state. 

your muse gets caught in the middle of a violent phoenix turf war.

your muse comes across an injured phoenix.

Plots for specific phoenixes:

Magdalena: using your muse as collateral damage for some petty gain; accidentally [on purpose] burning your muse’s home or city down in a rage; needing your muse’s help escaping her shadow, Glace. Glace: needing your muse’s help to track down Magdalena; returning a favor owed to your muse after your muse has helped her. Demetria: surprise! your weed dealer is a giant magical bird; your muse is stranded in the wilderness and Demetria comes to their aid. Cassiopeia: your muse takes Cass under their wing (ha) and teaches her about Earth and humans/society; Cassiopeia shows up on your muse’s doorstep and never leaves because she literally cannot take a hint + proceeds to follow your muse around like a puppy.

4. FOR BELLANTHE

A lower class English necromancer whose father’s notoriety is only outmatched by her mother’s has zero social skills and is composed of 99.9% sarcasm, .1% desperation for human affection.

Plot ideas for her include:

surprise! your muse’s formerly deceased pet is back from the dead, and it’s pissed. Bellanthe swears she didn’t do it, buuut.

your muse catches Bellanthe playing in some crypts in the middle of the goddamn day.

your muse needs a witch or necromancer for some purpose.

5. FOR KALANI

Sweet, human photographer who knows nothing about the supernatural and who just enjoys people-watching and minding her own business, thank you very much.

your muse is visiting Hawaii and Kalani can’t seem to take her camera off them while they’re on the beach.

your muse is a supernatural of some sort and Kalani might have just accidentally witnessed this proof of their non-human identity.
