Danny accidentally becomes the Ghost king, The president and the BIGGEST threat to Bruce's social status.
Pt 1 Danny becomes the Ghost king
"Fenton's were never allowed to have a "normal" life, we are either extremely successful or extremely unsuccessful, there is no in between. Maybe a spirit cursed us back in the days, but who knows, but one things for sure, all Fenton's will definitely make the news."
-Grandma Fenton from whatever generation
Danny's starting to believe that now. He used to think that it wasn't true, but now? He used to wish to have a normal life, be a good normal son with good grades an be an astronaut one day.
But like they said, a Fenton is either EXTREMELY SUCCESSFUL OR EXTREMELY UNSUCCESSFUL.
He was EXTREMELY UNSUCCESSFUL in that.
Instead of a normal life he turned a half ghost teen superhero. But oh well, the Fenton's were also known for their ability to go with the flow
But how in the world did the flow get him here???
In Danny's defense, he wasn't really expecting this. The only thing in his mind at the moment was keeping his town and his people safe from pariah. He just wanted to get rid of the rotten fruitloop. He was EXTREMELY SUCCESSFUL, so successful in fact that he ended up becoming Ghost king.
The fudge????
But okay, sure, he didn't wanna become king but if he also didn't want to give up the crown for others to take, what if an evil person becomes king and attacks amity again?? Fine, he'll be king, he'll figure it out. Just go with the flow.
Surprisingly, not only did he get the crown, he also got THE MONEY. as in literal gold and silver bars, coins and jewelry. Appearantly, one the kings a long long time ago, before at least two generations before pariah had an obsession with MONEY. So the king made a Permanent Royal Degree (a law that cannot be changed by any future kings) that when someone dies and becomes a ghost, 20% of the MONEY that they've acquired in their entire life. (The money turns into an equivalent of ghost currency in the realms but is still physically in the living. Kind of like how the soul is in the realms but the body is the earth. Also, the only reason money exists in the realms is for convenience and a sense of normalcy, it doesn't really have that much value unless the ghosts brings it to the living) would belong to the ghost king.
Basically, it's ghost taxes that only have to be paid once for the entire afterlife. (Or is it more of an entrance fee???)
But anyways, hes got the MONEY.
He's rich now and he thinks, "I have so much money it's disgusting"
So first things first, getting rid of some of it.
By this point, his parents know he's phantom and have changed their opinions on ghosts, instead of attacking they are now looking at ghost like they're equals and try and help them as an apology for hurting them.
They are also looking for a new project to spend time on. A new purpose
So Danny thought, why not give them the money then? Danny proposed to his mom a project to make things that can benefit both ghosts and humans.
Next thing he knows is that he's appearantly funding, building and making:
A ghost job agency
A human job agency
Ghost proof buildings (ghost can't pass through walls, it won't hurt them, just keep em out.)
Ghost proof clothes (overshadowing proof!)
A practical fashion line for ghost and humans (Bullet proof, blast proof etch. Borderline vigilante clothes that look like a civilians day to day outfit)
Homes for ghost and humans
A ghost obsession help center where they can ask humans to help with their obsession.
A school for both ghost and humans.
Liminal 101 because apparently because of the whole, pariah dark and, living in the ghosts kings haunt situation, everyone is liminal now
An entire line of technology that can be used by both ghosts and humans.
A fight arena where ghost and humans can fight for fun.
And so many other things , he can't remember
HIS NAME IS EVERYWHERE . His parents didn't even bother hiding the fact that their son somehow has enough money to fund these projects, everyone knows him now.
He ends up basically owning most of amity park.
And here he thought he wouldn't be the kind of king that expands their territory.
He was extremely UNSUCCESSFUL in that.

first of all, love the theme ICONIC. Second of all, pretty please more idol Cait 😕 I can't stop picturing soojin, also Mina and Irene like UGHHH just she's so sophisticated yk?
i plan on doing PLENTY more of idol!caitlyn (this is a hint that i want people to flood my inbox with thoughts of her *wink* *wink*) and i absolutely agree with you on caitlyn and mina having the same vibes!

i mean the proof is in the pudding that's idol!cait. even with her stages she's so cait!

when idol!cait was a trainee and her early debut she was definitely known as cassandra kiramman's daughter, who is honestly in this universe some huge actress, maybe even ceo since kiramman's are generational. and that honestly pushed cait further into her career (especially since her mother wasn't pleased she wanted to be an idol and not follow in her footsteps), and we all know cait strives off of proving herself and she did just that in the industry.
idol!cait would become more known for her dance skills, capturing everyone's attention from how effortlessly she's able to move the length of her body with such ease. whenever the group gets new choreo she spends hours a day in the studio perfecting the moves. and throughout the years she's tried her hand at choreography, and found a knack for it! and because of this she uses her ability to grasp moves quickly onto you, gravitating towards you when she notices you're having trouble nailing certain moves. silently correcting anything in your form that could be hindering you ability or showing you how the move should be done herself; to then step aside, a signal to tell you to do the move in front of her, gaining a nod of approval and praise "very good." or often times she'll keep correcting you, minuscule things just so she can keep maneuvering your body for you, invading your space while doing so.
like i said in this drabble, if you're somewhere cait isn't too far behind, and being an idol would only make cait more possessive over you since the two of you have to keep your relationship a secret (you guys honestly suck at hiding it). the rest of your group mates no not to fight with cait anymore over who gets to be room with you in hotels or sit next to you because she's already always near you so there's no point and they all know cait gets grumpy when she doesn't get her way (you chose to sit next to another member on a plane once and she was sulking over it for the next few days).
idol!caitlyn loves to test her limits as well, pushing her luck with 'will we/won't we get caught?' constantly. purposely bucking her hips into your ass when she has to squeeze past you (mind you, the group is filming), tugging you off to some stage closet because how could she not press you up against the closet wall stuffing her icy slim fingers past your panties when you look irresistible in your stage outfit? and she's just so, so evil too; placing a vibe in your panties just before a fan meet, eyeing you out of the corner of her eye whenever you shuffle uncomfortably, trying your hardest to ignore the stickiness between your thighs as you thank a fan for their generous gift or when she's bored, but you're on live chatting it up with fans, she'll sneakily slide onto the bed where you lie, pushing a finger to her lips telling you to be quiet, hands raking up and down your body. she'll smirk when you push the phone closer to your face, complaint to the fans as you point out a pesky pimple forming on your forehead, and that's when she dips her hands below your shirt, groping at your tits. laying her forehead against your thigh, muffling her chuckles when a whimper falls from your lips when she tweaks at your nipples, covering it up with an unconvincing cough. idol!caitlyn loves to have her fun with you.

Hello! I write stories in horror genre. I've been wanting to incorporate more disabled characters in these, because I feel like they're really underrepresented in the genre except for either demonizing roles of antagonists, or a random victim who dies/is exploited for cheap shock because of their disability. One of the stories I'm working on has intellectually disabled protagonist/narrator. Are there any things you'd recommend to avoid in writing a character with ID in context of horror genre specifically?
Hey!
I have a few problems with ID characters in horror media. Two of the three biggest ones you've actually already covered in your ask, so I'll just add quick explanations for people not familiar with them.
First is the "big intellectually disabled man murders everyone", not even because he's evil or is seeking revenge or whatever, but because he "doesn't understand" that murder bad. It's absurdly insulting and writers don't seem to understand that a lot of real life cases where an ID man "committed" a brutal crime are a result of police manipulation and tricking them into "confessing", but that's a very long and frustrating topic.
Second one is the victim thing. Hardly exclusive to any minority, but with ID characters it often seems like they're the first of many victims and their death is usually ignored because who cares (granted, pretty realistic) until more people start dying and all that. Dogs tend to get more sympathy (also realistic).
Third thing that I hate is the "everything is normal... until the character is revealed to have mental [R word]! (scary music)". Generally in the sense that the situation seems completely fine, the protagonist has no actual traits of ID, but then at some point they find out they have ID (usually severe or profound, which is ridiculous in this context) and suddenly the actions of those around them are pretty clearly fucked up (the character is actually held hostage, kidnapped, about to be murdered, you get it). It uses intellectual disability as a shock factor and as some worst-case scenario nightmare fuel for abled people, even though the situation makes no sense (no, a profoundly ID person isn't going to be reading their medical records and find out this way) and wouldn't happen. It's insulting nonsense.
Another thing that is insensitive in my opinion is the institution/SPED setting. Definitely not because nothing evil happens in there (quite the opposite) but because the way it's usually treated is completely devoid of empathy and the actual victims are portrayed as animals almost (or not so almost). I'd just stray away from the extreme real-life abuse scenarios (abusive caregivers, borderline slavery "work"places, purposeful medical malpractice) that do actually happen if you don't have a lot of experience or aren't working with someone who does.
Last thing, kinda connected to the third, is to not make any bizarre connections between the disability and the horror. ID can make someone trust others more which could lead to a situation that's potentially Scary, but it doesn't have much to do with demons or the parents doing something fucked up before the person was born.
There are of course other things that are kinda tired, but not completely made-up. ID people are victims of crime way more often, that's a statistic that's been true since the dawn of time. But it doesn't mean that they won't fight back because they're disabled. I'd love to see a character who actually wins against the antagonist at some point (even if just for a moment, considering it's horror) - whether they're physically stronger, or know the place better so they get away, or manage to keep calm because they haven't realized they're in a dangerous situation, it would be awesome to see.
Some additional notes that might or might not apply depending on what kind of horror it is;
A lot of people with ID aren't going to be reacting to the regular horror stuff the same way as your average horror character might. They might not think much when they hear a Suspicious Sound and not go investigate it, or be too scared because it's an Unfamiliar Situation. What would be more realistic in a scenario like this is the ID character actually reaching out for help (depends on the settings what that would be); most of us get it drilled into our brain to listen to authority, so they would probably be calling the cops rather than going into the Scary Basement, even if just in the fear of not doing the thing you're supposed to.
In more of an eldritch horror setting where there is an incomprehensible Thing happening, a character with a significant intellectual disability literally has an advantage over abled people. It's just one of many incomprehensible things. Many of us are simply used to ignoring things that don't make sense since the majority of people don't have the patience to explain things in a way that's actually helpful.
It'd be also cool for the ID character to actually have a goal, objective, or whatever else to drive them forward and have some development. Whether that would be the desire to find out who murdered their ex-husband, or why the sink has blood instead of water, or just to survive the voyage, basically anything other than just standing there only experiencing things when some abled savior shows up and tells them how to feel and what to do (both bad for an ID character but also just a poorly written protagonist of any kind).
Hope this helps,
mod Sasza

Pit Babe 2 Colors - Ep. 5
I'm watching the second season of Pit Babe on mute with no subtitles and double-speed just like I did the first season, so now I have a ton of questions. For science.
First question: Is Alan just a normal dude? Like does he have special powers? I don't think so, but I ask because . . . could he be pregnant and not Jeffery?
Because why is in looking so pitiful this episode, like he is just falling apart every two seconds? This is how Team Evil is going to get him! He is weak and they are going to try to supe him up!
Jeffrey played between the red and blue last season, but he had been consistently blue until whatever happened between him and Alan happened the last episode, so is something up now that Jeffrey is back to playing with reds? Did his power change? Did he get his man pregnant?
Second question: Peter can read minds, so . . . is this why he isn't touching Kentana because he doesn't want to know that Kentana is still in love with him? I feel like he read Kentana's mind last season and thought he should kiss him, but this season there are a lot of barriers between them, and it feels intentional on Peter's part.
Kentana has a key to his house because this is the third time Kentana has just walked in, yet Peter continues to fuck Waymond Christopher on every possible surface (I see the red on the pool table, and I'm ignoring it!), so is Peter doing this on purpose?
Peter is a good guy. He is always surrounded by blue.
Waymond Christopher is sus, but he is still light and heavenly, so I'm not too worried about him.
And Peter is clearly blindingly in love with him.
Or with Waymond (but they are the same person as far as I'm concerned so there is no difference).
And I think Waymond Christopher has feelings for Peter because he fell asleep in Peter's arms after sex.
However, he did sneak off to hack into his computer, but he was blue so he is safe, and I will fully admit that I used Google translate to figure out what each kid's profile said (it was too much text to be ignored), and one kid could hear people from great distances, another could move objects, one could manipulate people (Way Way?) and the last was Peter. I think Waymond Christopher is trying to track down others like him.
But I don't think he is doing it to give them the Team Evil serum. I think he is truly trying to help others like him lose their abilities, so they won't be used by Team Evil.
So even though I feel bad for Kentana not being touched by Peter in more than one way,
He has a bad bitch who watched Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift and is giving him "I'm gonna fuck you and tuck you into bed at night" eyes, so he's good.
They are the perfect balance of light x dark, and they will literally ride circles around these other couples when they finally get together. Wait! Side question: Why isn't Kimberly racing? Because he is taking care of Kentana?
Third question, and the easiest: Someone blew the fuck up during that race, did they not?! Are we just gonna act like it's not a big deal? Because the race continued! And William, who has been orange, seemed to turn a bit red during the race.
Alan noticed something was up!
While everyone else was celebrating, Alan looked like he thought something was strange, so what is William doing? It had to be something since Barbie immediately approached him.
I, as the clown that I am, do not believe William is Team Evil because he is the dark side to Barbie's light side, so I truly think they are connected somehow and are stuck in the same situation, but I need to know what his power is and if it's exactly like Barbie's. Where is Barbie's dad because I have more questions? Does he have other kids?!
I've apparently watched too many toxic Chinese BLs.
Tell me who you love next episode, William (and it better be Charles!).
Fourth question, but it's not a question: Something is definitely up with Vegas' Hedgehog. He was slowly bringing back his usual style as seen in the shirt he is wearing, but he still had on white, and the red was backing him.
He also wore purple with white. I don't know what this kid has been up to, and I don't know who he has been hanging out with, but he's different, and I 👏🏾 don't 👏🏾 like 👏🏾 it.
Dean is slowly making his way back to the blue (still sus though), but Whiny Winifred used to be red, and now he is purely black. Heavy shit has to going down for a person to completely change or lose his color, and we know what's happening with Whiny Winifred, so what's happening with Vegas' Hedgehog?
Final question:
WHAT THE FUCK, BARBARA?!
Why is Barbara quickly turning red?!
Barbara is a Black Brooder. He wears blue for the team and the Blue Boy he loves, so why in the hell did he pop up as red this episode?! He isn't bad, but I feel he is going to turn to Team Evil very soon with the way he is going.
And if he loses Charles, who keeps getting darker, Barbara will be lost without his light!
STEP AWAY FROM THE RED, BARBIE! IT AIN'T WORTH IT!
#pit babe#pit babe season 2#the colors mean things#and they are going to guide me the whole way through#color coded boys in love#I'm really lost in the suace#everything is wrong#And nothing is making sense!#but I'm trying#long post#episode five#I don't think William is Team Evil#and I don't think Chris is either#but that leaves me with Dean and Sonic#And now Alan and Babe are about to be snatched up by Team Evil#WHY AM I SO STRESSED ABOUT THESE FICTIONAL CHARACTERS?!

I remember years ago when Ladybug the episode airing, there's so many people called Tom and Sabine as a bad parents... for whatever reason, and I was one that keep saying they're a good parents. Now though... it make me wondering if they are really as good as I thought they were if Marinette turned out to be this bad.
I saw some people say the reason why Marinette turned to be this spoiled is because she has one child syndrome, but Adrien is one too and ironically he become a better person than Marinette ever be. And the only one child who become spoiled is Chloé and Felix whose parents is also way too doting that they let the kid do whatever.
Today I found out the term "Helicopter parenting" A helicopter parent (also called a cosseting parent or simply a cosseter) is a term for a parent who is overattentive and overly fearful of a child's experiences and problems, particularly outside the home and at educational institutions. And I feels like its something that Tom would do, especially in Weredad episode. He doesn't want Marinette to feel sad so he will create a situation where she won't be sad, emotion need to be fixed or prevented, which... Track with what Marinette's tend to do.
I know I shouldn't put pshycological aspect into a cartoon, let alone a toddler show, but it just fit. 😅
---
The thing about discussing psychology when it comes to media isn't really about who the media is for, I think. The issue, as I see it, comes from using stereotypes of different conditions to classify characters in a negative way, regardless of what genre a piece of media belongs to. It's kinda how you would go about actually writing a story with these same themes: don't forget there are real people who deal with these things who won't appreciate being demonized or dehumanized, so treat the topic with compassion.
However, sometimes it can be useful for your self discovery to discuss whether or not a character fits similar categories as you yourself do. It can be a fun topic to discuss when it's done in a compassionate way. Sometimes small details just fit together way too well to not bring it up. Sometimes it can be good to be aware that the writers might be codifying their characters a certain way and what kinds of attitudes that codifying enforces.
Those people calling Marinette's problems "only child syndrome" when we can see her parents and their parenting techniques are definitely barking up the wrong tree. Only children aren't naturally spoiled, they might not be spoiled at all. But helicopter parents are common these days. A lot of modern parents are afraid of screwing up because we're more aware than ever of how parents can traumatize their kids, and that makes them easily veer into overprotective territory. I do agree with you that helicopter/cosseting parenting seems to be a far more fitting descriptor for what’s going on with Marinette.
Miraculous does often genuinely hit the nail on the head on what some types of parenting do to kids, which makes it so absolutely bonkers when they claim that it's not on purpose. It’s more likely that some of it was on purpose, but the writers then changed their minds about what they wanted to say about parenting. Like, Chloé’s issues get built up as being the result of being spoiled and neglected by her father and mother respectively, but then season five claims Chloé‘s just an evil hellspawn who was born that way.
The thing about Adrien is that his disposition also makes sense with his upbringing. His only friend growing up was Chloé, the epitome of a spoiled brat lashing out because she doesn’t get actual care from her parents, and sometimes Félix, another emotionally unskilled kid lashing out at others because he doesn’t have friends. Add to this Adrien’s emotionally immature father, who goes on a year-long magical rampage where he purposefully tramples on everyone else’s emotions in a misguided attempt to get his wife back with no consideration towards the son he also loves and who's actually still alive. Gabriel also doesn’t want to shield Adrien from disappointments, he often causes them and seems to have that attitude that it’s character-building.
But yeah, it makes sense that Adrien is emotionally astute, since his own emotional well-being relied on him developing the skills to work around the social bombs he grew up around. And then the series decided that, actually, Adrien being so attentive, often even to his own detriment, is a good thing because Marinette can benefit from it. Suddenly Gabriel’s behavior was claimed to not be abusive or emotionally damaging to Adrien at all and Félix is a caring cousin and a good guy. Considering there are still some throw-away lines in the post-retool episodes about how harmful Adrien’s fawning is to himself, it really seems like either there’s been a change in course or the writers disagreed on what the takeaway over Adrien’s family situation was supposed to be.
As for Marinette, ‘Weredad’ does, just as you pointed out, confirm Tom as an incredibly overprotective parent. I’ve also previously made a post about how Marinette exhibits a lot of signs of being an overly coddled child, which is the same thing as a child with cosseting/helicopter parents. Marinette can’t handle stress, because her parents don’t expect things from her, not wanting to pressure her. The one time her parents asked her to do anything for them in the show was handing off a cake to a customer in ‘Timebreaker’. The rest of the time Marinette seems to almost be a free-range child, with no mention of bedtimes or her parents expecting her to have her homework done. Marinette’s studies barely get mentioned, which is really weird for a middle school teen hero show where the characters spend a lot of time in school and classes. But Marinette’s parents are apparently completely unaware of what Marinette does with her day or what happens at school, outside of the letter/email they received in ‘Simon Says’ about Marinette’s repeated absences. Nobody keeps track of or expects anything from Marinette on a more casual level, so when things actually rely on her performance, she buckles under the pressure.
Marinette also can’t handle setbacks, because her parents refuse to voice out her failures and weaknesses so that she could accept them. In ‘Animaestro’, where Marinette starts badmouthing herself, her parents, instead of dealing with this self-deprecating attitude directly, insist she’s definitely not a klutz and totally gets to be a server. They also completely sideline her reason for wanting to be at the event because of this, which they know is to see Adrien. The instant Marinette’s lip starts wobbling, her parents will lie to make her feel better instead of discussing the situation with her. Basically, they treat her like she’s a toddler incapable of understanding that they have a responsibility to their client to not bring an untrained child to work as a server at a public media event with a lot of celebrities.
This lack of dealing with Marinette’s self-esteem problems is also related to Marinette’s past as a victim of Chloé’s bullying. Marinette’s parents are very unengaged with Marinette’s role as a victim; even when she gets expelled on what they think (rightly so) are false accusations, they leave things to the authorities and just tell Marinette she can work at the bakery. To a child, that preparation for the worst-case-scenario feels like the parents aren’t on her side at all. Of course, we don’t know if the parents are aware of the past bullying Marinette faced; even in ‘Origins’ they merely encouraged her to go to school and bring everyone pastries. In general, Marinette’s parents seem to know very little about her friend group (they think Sabrina is a close friend of Marinette’s in ‘Darkblade’) and social standing in addition to her daily activities, which lends credence to me deeming her a free-range child.
Marinette also can’t handle rejection, because her parents never deny her anything except for a single episode, ‘Simon Says’, where they told her she couldn’t go out with her friends until she stopped skipping class. They were incredibly gentle about this grounding too, and held each other's hands afterwards, like this was an incredibly difficult task they’d just completed, gently telling their teenaged daughter she had to stop skipping class for a week before she could be allowed out whenever she wanted again. Basically, it takes extreme circumstances for Marinette’s parents to give her any boundaries, and they clearly don’t like doing it, which explains perfectly why she has no boundaries when it comes to pursuing her attraction to Adrien.
The problem with all of this is that this should be a good ground for Marinette to grow from. This is a valuable topic to discuss. As I said earlier in the post, overprotective helicopter parents who are afraid that every single disappointment or setback will traumatize their child for life are a thing. As such, this is an important thing to teach to families and especially to kids who wouldn't understand what's going on in their lives unless someone brought it up. But this isn't what the show does, because the head of the showrunners is the most overprotective parent of them all for his fictional creation, so of course he isn't going to criticize himself.

✦ MY WRITEBLR INTRODUCTION ✦
Hey! I've been here for a while and I've somehow amassed a shocking amount of followers and mutuals, so I figured it's finally time for me to force one of these out for you guys!
(And you know... a masterpost... when I get around to it. 😅😭)

About me:
✦ Barlowe (she/her)
✦ In my early 20s
✦ A writer of 10 years ✦ working on novels for 6 of 10!
✦ Less dedicated to—but still interested in!—drawing, animation, photography, and cinematography
✦ AuDHD and a grey lesbian (aka I'm leaning asexual) ✦ (my writing may or may not be a special interest)
✦ I have a whole bunch of other neurodivergencies besides AuDHD but I don't think y'all want me to get into all of them, haha. ✦ oh, and I say "haha" a lot. I apologize in advance.
✦ I think I'm hilarious and make jokes constantly
✦ I use a lot of emojis and tone tags to help convey tone. Please forgive me if it's annoying, it's to cope with my inability to communicate. /lh /hj

Masterlists:
✦ General ✦ Worldbuilding ✦ Sun and Shadow ✦ The Arcane Rifts ✦ Rising From the Ashes
(will be added eventually)

My Obsessions:
✦ Fantasy, horror, mystery, action, and exploration of realistic characters' reactions to the things they go through.
✦ Fairy tales, mythology, and folklore
✦ "Ye Olde History" and language
✦ DIVERSITY!!!
✦ Explorations of "evil-coded" characters and abilities--aka, not just showing them as evil. Show them as people (for characters) and tools (for abilities)!
✦ Traumatizing my characters just like I've been
✦ Traumatizing my characters in ways I haven't been!
✦ Learning!!!
✦ Talking way too much about the things I like to the point that I need to make a whole separate post to share it so it doesn't clutter my intro post... oh, hey, why is this linked?
✦ THE AESTHETIC!!!!

My Aesthetics:
Those who've been following me for a bit probably know that I adore "the aesthetic" and try to make my posts look nice... even if there's no real reason to besides that it gives me a little serotonin. Here's my favorite aesthetics!
✦ Starry; night sky ✦ Dawn / dusk ✦ Sunrise / sunset
✦ Nature! ✦ Forestry ✦ Cottagecore ✦ Rustic ✦ Ocean
✦ Literally all of them, please and thank you

My Writing:
✎ Sun and Shadow
Everything goes wrong for Freya Ula when she leaves her simple life as a fisherwoman to get engaged overseas. Her ship gets wrecked, she finds out her dad's been hiding secrets from her for her whole life, and, oh, she gets framed for a terrorist attack. Wait, WHAT!? After the city's greatest detective is attacked and disappears before she could consult with him, Frey has to enlist the help of his kid and her would-be fiancée to find out who framed her and clear her name. If only Crow was half as good a detective their dad was supposed to be.
Main characters: Freya, Crow, Daleira
✦ Urban-esque high fantasy ✦ purposely very tropey in places ✦ however, as always, I love throwing in curveballs. Wonder what's played straight and what I'm going to emotionally destroy you with. Definitely won't be Crow.
✦ Slow-burn romance between Frey and Crow ✦ immediate interest between Frey / Daleira ✦ oh, look, it's a love triangle? ✦ JOKE'S ON YOU, IT'LL ACTUALLY BE POLY ✦ it's just... going to take a while.
✦ Lesbians, lesbians everywhere ✦ though Crow is actually genderfluid and uses they/them for the first book ✦ despite barely having anything written I've already plotted a bit of book 2 ✦ I desperately need help.
✦ Unsurprisingly is a detective mystery with action mixed in ✦ I'm not typically a romance writer, I excel in action fantasy ✦ please have mercy on my soul
✦ Lots of magic, it's high fantasy + victorian aesthetic ✦ (aka "gaslamp fantasy" if you've heard of it) ✦ Frey's got sun-themed magic ✦ gasp, I know ✦ Crow's got shadow magic ✦ wonder why this sounds familiar ✦ Daleira's got, hm, well it's also shadowy! ✦ spoilers 😘
✦ About to be updated en-masse for a writing contest!!!
✎ The Arcane Rifts
Ghosts of past tragedies haunt the town of Kavo after decades of neglect. Fantastical creatures desiring nothing but fear and destruction hide in invisible tears in reality. Gangs and the police are at constant war with one another, there's a shapeshifting monster running amok, and the mayor's assistant suddenly wants a disabled orphan kicked to the streets. A year ago, Gene was discovered in the forest on the outskirts of town, half dead, amnesiac, and unable to even speak the local language. As he had nowhere to go, he was brought to the orphanage of Kavo for a place to stay. Now Caspar, the assistant of the mayor and the man who funds the orphanage, wants him kicked out. When Gene's left to the cold, cruel streets of Kavo on his own, he has to navigate through a town ravaged by decades of neglect and intrigue. Has the corruption truly been purged from the government? Why are godly forces active in Kavo, a small town in a backwater country? And most importantly--will Gene survive?
Main Characters: Gene, Tazin, Mislav, Ludmila, Rada ❧ Gene and Tazin for book 1 ❧ the other 3 start being MCs books 2 and 3 ❧ I guess Nikolai is also a MC tho
❧ Industrial-era rustic high fantasy ❧ mixes fantasy, action, horror, and mystery! ❧ oh helloooooo "ominous feychild" origin? ❧ very strong folkloric and traditional fantasy inspo ❧ except I mean "traditional fantasy" as in ❧ "we don't understand this magic stuff but we're used to it" ❧ not "travel the world adventures!"
❧ VERY involved story with strong themes of discrimination, poverty, exploitation, trauma, and the recovery from trauma ❧ each main and secondary character is one flavor of discriminated against or another in-universe ❧ obviously I try to write it respectfully, but you can't really write bigots being bigots "respectfully"
❧ Has two "main plots" going on simultaneously; technically three ❧ I periodically give the reader updated "character guides" ❧ like they get more recent plot info added kinda like a red-string board to keep you, the audience, up-to-date with info you might've otherwise missed ❧ I think it's really cool and people seem to enjoy it ❧ I know it seems like a lot but please give it a chance
❧ I've literally plotted out pretty much the entirety of the first and second books, and know most of how book 3 will go, yet there's very little out for the current version of the story ❧ part of that is because I'm paused on the 3rd draft
❧ There's lots of timeskips throughout the first two books, but they're mostly to age up the protagonists! Gene, the MC, starts the series at 7. I promise it's not a kid's story though.
❧ The "secondary MC", Nikolai, is the police chief investigating magical stuff going on at the same time. They tie in with the main story involving Gene, though won't appear to for a long while.
❧ The "golden child" series I love more than SaS; however it's on hiatus because I promised people to work on SaS first and SaS is more popular as a romance-focused story. :/ ❧ I would never be salty about that.

june 3, 2022 5:05 p.m. casbah gallery
[henry] hey, i wanted to thank you. this wouldn’t have been possible without you.
[cerise] oh, i didn’t do much, just poked around my contacts until i found someone with an open gallery space. you did all the talking and organizing, and grant was the one to approach me for help.
[henry] either way, my mom and i aren’t involved in the highbrow art scene anymore. it wouldn’t have been easy for us to find someone and then get them on board. there are lots of artists and not a lot of gallery space. but you know people, you have some sway, you felt like you owed grant a favor, and he called it in for me, so that’s all unusually convenient.
[cerise] well, you're very welcome. i'm happy i could be useful!
[soobin] by the way, where is your brother–never mind, there he is!
[grant] hi! i'm sorry i'm just arriving now! not that you need an explanation, but i will give you one anyway. i had to go home and change clothes after my visit with therapist, and i hit rush hour traffic coming back this way. did i miss anything?
[henry] oh no, you’re three minutes past opening! horrible news, they’ve removed all the art already. absolutely all the art. you missed everything.
[grant] darn, i guess i fucked up big time. i guess i'll just have to look at all this “definitely not art” stuff on the walls instead.
[henry] no, but you really haven’t missed anything. my mom hasn’t even come out to start schmoozing yet. she’s, uh, somewhere.
[soobin] she said she was going to meet someone and walk them over here because they weren’t sure where to go. she’ll be back soon.
[grant] oh, okay, okay, got it! i was wondering where she was so i could go say hi. she is, for all intents and purposes, the star tonight, in lieu of resident artist.
[grant] have you guys done the big tour of the room yet?
[henry] cerise has, soobin and i haven’t. to be honest, i was waiting for you. i'm beyond happy to see my dad’s art out of storage and displayed somewhere nice, but…
[grant] but it’s emotionally intense to go and look at each piece up close?
[henry] exactly. i could use another emotional support figure before doing it. i haven’t seen any of these paintings in almost a decade. i mean, yes, i saw them when i helped my mom pack up her house and when we transported the paintings here a few weeks ago, but that’s different. that’s just glancing in their direction.
[henry] you know me, i don’t cry, but if i could, i would. it feels like i'm saying goodbye to my dad a second time.
[grant] well, it's perfectly fine if you do cry.
[henry] also, i thanked cerise, but i should thank you for the billionth time, too. thank you for helping us save my dad’s art. we’ve had room to keep it all because we’ve had my dad’s studio room to store it, even after he passed, but my mom can’t take everything with her to the new house.
[soobin] we would have tried, but we don't have the space now, and we won't down the line either because we agreed to move in with her in korea.
[henry] and no one else we know has room to take anything other than a favorite piece or two, so it was sell it or try to display it somewhere. you know all this, though.
[grant] ah now, we couldn’t sell it, could we? your dad was fond of ranting about the "evils" of private collecting.
[henry] right. my mom briefly considered it, but it felt wrong. he really was a big believer in “art is for the public.” she also considered just renting some kind of space to store it again, but that felt wrong, too. all these years, it was at least in the room where he loved to paint. shoving it all in a storage unit seems cruel. his work deserves more respect than that. it should be seen.
[henry] trying to get it displayed was the dream, but it felt entirely like a pipe dream for a while. so, yeah, thanks for being on the same page about it and doing what you could to make the dream come true.
[grant] you don’t have to thank me. i know how terribly it hurts to lose the last reminders you have of someone you love. i want you to have his art preserved.

I avoid talking about the other ship specifically but I feel like letting my thoughts out on some arguments I see sometimes. Not that I have any interest in engaging in any discourse with the other side but it's my page so I can post whatever I feel like posting.
"Gwyn's purpose in the bonus chapter is to hint at her Lightsinger powers"
Okay, so you think one of the most important points about the bonus chapter is to prove Gwyn has luring powers so my question is what are the implications of that? Her drawing Azriel away from Elain? Azriel and Elain exposing her true powers in front of everyone to reveal she is the reason she's been keeping them apart? She is being manipulated by Merrill and Koschei? She has powers she's using unknowingly and can't control them so she'll need Az and Elain to help her?
You're setting up Gwyn to be prominent in an Azriel/Elain book because of her powers, so will they spend time dealing with other plotlines or mainly focus on Gwyn? Because that kind of thing definitely needs resolution since it directly impacts Nesta and the Valkyries dynamic.
So do Azriel and Elain's fantastic romance needs another female character to be used as a scapegoat to pin all their issues on her because the bonus chapter wasn't a good look on them? Or simply because his scene with Gwyn and with Clotho ended on a hopeful note than his scenes with Elain and Rhysand?
Gwyn is an irrelevant character and serves Nesta's story only.
But your argument is she has luring powers and is using them on Azriel, so will that go unaddressed? Then why would SJM throw hints about her powers if it won't mean anything?
Gwyn was used just as a marketing ploy in the bonus chapter.
She's considered a new character and no one knew she was in Azriel's bonus chapter and the bonus chapter was strictly advertised to be focused on Azriel, please be serious.
The bonus chapter is irrelevant.
The author confirmed she planted things in it specifically and in ACOSF in relation to Azriel so I would disagree. The great "forbidden romance" trope wouldn't exist without it and Azriel and Elain spoke to each other more in the bonus chapter than they ever did in the main book, I can pin-point the scene where they speak to each other only ONCE in a 800+ page book and it was about Nesta dancing with the Duke.
Gwyn has powers.
She's Fae of course she has powers but why is the immediate assumption that her powers are nefarious? She didn't harm any character and there was zero hints of her having any bad intentions towards anyone. She deals with survivor's guilt and her trauma, but she had many opportunities to let that evil secret side show but it never did. Why? Because she's obviously not set up to be an evil character or even one with questionable intentions. This is the same character who was ready to sacrifice herself to save her friends and stood by Nesta to face hateful males who wanted to k*ll them.
She's a Lightsinger.
Pretty easy to debunk because there is no correlation based on what we know and we never even see any Lightsingers. Even if she happens to be one, I believe it'll play out way differently than what some people try to push. And come on, Lightsinger and Shadowsinger? You think SJM wouldn't go for that dynamic? But for now I disagree with it since canon tells us they're monsters who k*ll for sport and Gwyn does none of that. Even if she had other different powers that are not wholly good, it's not a point of concern because many characters have questionable powers that did not erase the fact that they were good characters. It's like people never read fantasy books with characters who had dark powers but it didn't corrupt them, for some reason there's an insistence that Gwyn already caused harm despite the serious implications of having a character who is SA victim portrayed as someone luring other people against their will.
Azriel ended up at the library because Gwyn was singing during the service.
1. Clotho is seen at the service, so her being at her desk when Azriel shows up at the library is a good hint that the services didn't start yet.
2. For a singing power to work, the victim should be able to hear the singing and Azriel made no note of any singing at the library.
3. The image he sees of Gwyn's joy didn't pop up randomly, it was triggered by Clotho after she thanks him for the joy the gift will bring her and tells him that Gwyn deserves something as beautiful as this.
The shadows stay around him because they sense a threat but she's luring them.
How is she luring them when she's not even singing if it's been established that her singing has powers? Also, that statement contradicts what's in the text because the shadows were curious at start of the scene and by the end they were described to have calmed and were content to watch Gwyn. In ACOSF, they were seen dancing around Az when Gwyn addresses him.
Nesta reacted to Gwyn's singing the same way Azriel did.
Context matters and a lot of arguments that support this statement are always taken out of context. Nesta loves music so if she is going to admire Gwyn's beautiful voice, it'll be simply for that and nothing more.
There is no way to 100% pin point what caused Nesta to have visions of the Prison during the services but it doesn't only have to be Gwyn's singing but also the lyrics which were found under Level Seven and are written in an ancient language. When Nesta gets the vision she says she can visualize what the song spoke of, meaning the song itself could be talking about story of the Prison/Land of Dusk.
"But Azriel's shadows reacted to her singing"
— "How was the party?" Her breath curled in front of her mouth, and one of his shadows darted out to dance with it before twirling back to him. Like it heard some silent music.
Silent music, not singing. Not song. Just like how Hunt mentioned hearing some beautiful music between his and Bryce's souls. Just like how Nesta and Cassian when they consummated their bond heard the music between their souls. Strong sign of Mateism friends.
"But Azriel still heard a beautiful singing, not just music."
— Azriel entered the warmth of the stairwell, and as he descended, he could have sworn a faint, beautiful singing followed him. Could have sworn his shadows sang in answer.
Could she be singing? Maybe though unlikely since she returned to training to cut the ribbon right after he left. If she did, maybe the shadows like her voice? Maybe that's a sign they're fond of her? And if it's not maybe that's another sign that the singing they're hearing is the mating bond, which was once described as the Song of the Soul.
The Shadows having a reaction to singing isn't necessarily a bad sign, we saw them dance to Azriel's humming in HOFAS.
Gwyn returned to the library, her story is over.
I have to assume you haven't read ACOSF or skimmed it if that's the conclusion you came to, because there were clear signs that not only Gwyn but Emerie have ongoing journeys and they will leave where they are right now to see the world outside. Gwyn literally states at around the 70%-80% mark that she's sick of staying in the library for two years and wants to leave. She returned to the library because that's her current residence and where she works, it's not like she'll immediately move out right after facing the Blood Rite. This is one argument I can't take seriously because it clearly contradicts what canon points out and I think it's mostly out of convenience to invalidate any discussions about her healing journey and incomplete arc.
Casual readers don't even ship Azriel and Gwyn and have no knowledge about the bonus chapter
A lot of casual readers do in fact see a potential in Azriel and Gwyn as a romantic pairing because they have canon interactions in ACOSF. Plenty of readers shipped them even before they read the bonus chapter. Casual readers are dismissed when they address that and are claimed to be hardcore shippers that hate Elain when it's not the case since they just point out what they think is the obvious in the book to them. Every casual reader will have a different opinion but for some reason if theirs is not in favor of Elain and Azriel, they'll be dismissed so that says much.
Just a hot take that I wanted to put out there since I'll be avoiding fandom discourse moving on (unless I feel like it Lol).

Outstanding antagonists after Junior Year
This post is as much for myself for fanfic purposes as it is for any speculation regarding a Senior Year that may never happen and even if it does would be I think at an absolute minimum three years and more likely 4-5 down the road, but I wanted to round up the known potential antagonists remaining out in the world, roughly ranked in order of known hostility:
Chungledown Bim. Certainly the MOST hostile of opponents, we know he's not dead post-Boy's Night (whenever Boy's Night is supposed to fit into the Quangle) because he's on Fabian's nemesis alert.
Arianwen Abernant. Evidently she has recovered her magic, probably while Cassandra was corrupted into a more Nightmare King-ish state. She was pretty pissed at Aelwyn and Adaine the last time we saw her over the whole death of Angwyn thing; I somehow don't think being chased around Sylvaire by the vand will have improved her mood.
Bobby Dawn. The full extent of his involvement in the Junior Year plot is uncertain, but he sure as hell wasn't helping things. Also some real potential hate between him and the party over the Sandra Lynn thing; while Fig might be gone in a Senior Year I'm going to ignore that for these rankings and in any case Sandra Lynn still lives with Kristen and Adaine regardless, so I think that conflict would be born out. I also think there's a strong case for a clash of pantheons style story going on in the background, and Bobby here would be front and center on the Sol-Helio-maybe Galicaea side.
Kalina. I don't necessarily think Kalina actually IS a traitor to Cassandra the way that Kristen thinks and Ankarna thinks; I almost believe that her turning up at the end of Junior Year was a reaction to them deciding to hunt her, in fact. That being said, while I think Kalina is fully team Cassandra, I also think (and even understand!) that she is most definitely NOT team Kristen, who did let Cassandra kind-of-die and now is splitting her attention. So what's Kalina's play now? I think she's going to try to push for Bobby Dawn to add Cassandra back to the Sol-Helio-Galicaea pantheon, which would be to her a much more stable foundation to keep Cassandra alive on than Kristen.
The Automatons that are going to be hunting Fig. Yes, these are self-evidently a way to excuse that Fig won't be around to help out if there's a senior year and Emily chooses to not play Fig. They're also kind of hilarious, especially since they open up all kinds of questions like 'wait did Sandra Lynn spend her first year of adventuring fighting off killer statues of Arthur Aguefort?' They'd be higher except they're only hostile to 1/6th of the Bad Kids.
Gertie Bladeshield. Also only hostile to 1/6th of the Bad Kids at present, though Cassandra knows if any of them speak up in Kristen's defense she'll probably swear a vow of emnity to them too. Could probably be made up with via a sincere apology, or at least by setting her up with someone.
The Court of Stars and Princess Nara. Now we're into the dubiously hostile territory, because this might not lead to actual conflict, but if there IS a clash of pantheons between the Sol one and the Ankarna-Cass one then the most obvious fight other than Cassandra is over where Galicaea ends up. The members of the Court of Stars we met this season seemed much more, um, I'll use the word chilled out than Angwyn and Kir of last year, but it still feels like a mercurial thing.
Arthur Aguefort. I've been saying for a very long time that the only boss fight that makes sense for a Senior Year IS to have to fight Arthur Aguefort himself; it doesn't even necessarily have to be a 'he's evil' sort of thing, but could just be a 'you're the best party we've had in centuries and I wanna throw down'. He dropped some hints at it in the finale, of course, too!

Welcome to munch city...part 2
Synopsis: Gojo Saturo x fem! reader. Geto Suguru x fem! reader. How Gojo and Geto eat you out (separately)
I really love writing these even though I still have 15 wip in my drafts lol 😭

Gojo eats you out like you're his last meal on this earth. He teases you with his slender fingers and words. He's a goddamn whimpering mess, grinding onto the bed, trying to bring some relief to hard, aching cock.
Slick fingers sliding in and out of your pussy, teasing you and not curling up against your bundle of nerves inside of you. He likes to see your facial expressions as he teases you, slapping your pussy and chuckling as you whimper and beg for him to stop teasing you.
"Toru, p-please!" you whimper out, each time grinding on the palm of his hand to try and get a release. He'll just chuckle and place a sweet kiss on your cheek.
Has your legs spread open with his hands, pressing down onto them and not letting up.
Loves to use his tongue. He'll run his tongue over your folds, purposely staying away from your clit to annoy you. Whimpers if you grab onto his hair and have your fingers pressing into his undercut.
He'll mirror your actions too, pouting when you pout or making fun of how your jaw drops open when he finally pokes that spot with his long, sticky fingers covered in your juices.
Goes at a painfully slow pace until your moans grow louder and turn into gasps.
"That's my girl," he says, as your moving your hips along with the movements of his fingers, repeatedly hitting that spot until you're gushing all over his face.
Teases you about how much of a mess you made and how he has to clean it up, knowing he loves to clean it up. He'll use his tongue, slowly sliding it up your folds and then swirling it around your hole where your juices are still gushing out from.
Geto does not play around when he's eating you out. He gets down and goes straight to business. He's lowkey mean as fuck and is so rough, but let's be honest, you like it.
Definitely has his hair down and allows for you to play with it, but don't you dare tug on it or he'll stop pleasing you. He'll stare at you, holding his gaze on you, knowing he has such control over you.
Sucking on your clit until you cum just from that, hands kneading into your plush flesh of your waist, stomach, or thighs.
Calls you princess as he has you on your hands and knees, his chest pressed up against your back. His thumb rubbing circles on your sensitive, throbbing clit. If you try to grind on his hand, he'll give your bare cunt a rough slap that makes you squirm and cry out.
Loves to see you struggle to keep your moans to yourself and keep yourself together. Thighs trembling and beads of sweat forming along your forehead as his fingers are slamming in and out of your pussy, curling up against your sweet spot.
Likes it when you sit on his face, suffocating him with your plush thighs and gushing pussy. He'll sometimes hump the air, feeling himself grow harder inside of his boxers. He'll sometimes reach into his pants and stroke himself if he's really needy.
Has his nose nudging against your clit every once in a while, chuckling at how sensitive you are.
Won't let you cum until you beg and he finally says yes. He wears a cocky, evil smile on his face as you're squirming, trying to hold off on cumming.
Once you're allowed to, you quite literally squirt all over this man's face, fingers, lips, etc. Geto doesn't really like to mess all over the bed, he'd rather you cum on his face or fingers.
He just loves the taste of you...

i looove act 3 because the King convos are so. inch resting. especially since Siffrin iirc pretty much just completely ignores the party while talking to the King
imagine being anyone else with Siffrin on this whole journey and then as soon as you meet the King, the big bad evil guy, your bestie Siffrin just. starts talking to him? he doesn't pay attention to you trying to figure out why he's doing that. he's just talking. about what? remember what? all these questions about King? why are they talking like they know each other? why does the King get so sad about Siffrin and why does Siffrin seem to care so much about King?
none of this gets answered for the party because as soon as Siffrin is done suddenly chatting up the King they go in for the kill again like That Didn't Just Happen and then they have more pressing stuff to deal with
like huh. what. what just happened there.
bonus points for the entire "SAY IT BRIGHT ONE...!!!" event. if the timelines continued on without Siffrin i would pay money to be a crab in a fishtank listening in on however the hell the party is freaking out once Siffrin and King mutually KO each other trying to say "it". whatever the hell "it" is.
the party would lose it oh my god, that's like an assisted suicide action. They won but at what cost? The whole country is safe! And they'll never know why they were saved, or how, and neither will the party. The party will always be lost behind Siffrin as Siffrin goes forward in a direction they can't follow, because Siffrin won't let them. The leader who guides but won't let them follow. Do they think it was premeditated on either side? Do they think Siffrin gave them self up on purpose? Do they think the king made him do it somehow through craft? Did they wrestle with the body and pour healing craft after healing craft down his throat and beg for it to work? Did they cradle their body as it lay limp? Asking him why, why, why? Did Odile cry and whisper cold things to the kings corpse? Did Isabeau scream in denial before crying over a cloak that is now stained dark? Did Mirabelle stay frozen, her hands on Siffrin's neck, as she realized she couldn't save him and that is the worst thing she has ever done to him? Did Bonnie cry and cry and cry over the fact Frin did it again? But this time with a cost too high? Did Euphrasie come to check on them only to jerk back and clutch her face, as something is failing, rotting, breaking?
Now for less serious;
Aauuggghhhh, in the loops where it's not the SAY IT BRIGHT ONE I bet Odile is thinking back on that assassin thing and going, hmm maybe they're ex's?? Instead?? And Isabeau who is the other theorycrafter of the party is like MADAME PLS, PLS LET ME HAVE THIS. DO NOT SAY THEY WERE EXS I DONT THINK I CAN HANDLE IT. Mirabelle definitely is like... The backstory!!! The lore!!!! What is going on!!! Are they friends?? Past allies now enemies??? FAMILY???? WHAT AM I MISSING??? Bonnie thinks Siffrin is a crab and doesn't want to think about the king more than they have to. Siffrin is debating whether or not to use the dagger or just talk to Euphrasie. Euphrasie is like, hmmm, same shit as always :)

Satan Guide
(to the anon that requested Maguro, he's next)
Satan's full title is "The Dark Prince Satan." Some apparently aren't aware that he's called the Dark Prince in Japanese as well, so I'm mentioning it.
Likewise, as funny as the "devil from Bible" jokes are, it's just his name.
You know how some people will use the term "dracula" for vampires? It's the same idea here but for demon lords (shoutouts to Gadget).
As for Satan himself, at his core he is dramatic and full of himself. He's also prone to boredom.
He's far and away the most powerful character in the franchise, hands down.
The above two points are closely linked: When you're the most powerful being in existence, it's too easy to just do what you want without consequence.
Hence the other key point of Satan's character, that he is a massive doofus.
He does stupid things on purpose while limiting his power because it creates conflict he's not immediately set to win. This allows for both drama and uncertainty.
That isn't to say he's just playing the fool and is just distracting everyone else. He really is a dumbass, he just also has an off switch for the silliness when the situation calls for it.
Whether Satan's hamming it up, or resembling a wet sock, or gushing over "Carbunny," or does something patently stupid, or behaving childishly, or displaying a fragile ego… that's not a front. That's raw, unfiltered Satan.
Satan's not really evil. He doesn't look for more power, or seek to rule the world, and isn't really into corrpting mortals into doing his bidding, let alone killing them. Guy just happens to be the Prince of Darkness.
Before continuing down this line of thought, let's take a moment to address the elephant in the room that is his relationship with Arle (and by extension Rulue, Schezo, and Carbuncle).
By the time that Madou 2 happened, Satan had become quite lonely, leading to his setting up a find-a-spouse dungeon with himself at the bottom.
It didn't work, since the first qualified person to reach him beat him up ("I shouldn't've skipped breakfast") and took his rabbit with her.
Over the next several games, Satan got the message that Arle was just flat-out not interested in marrying him.
Which was fine. The shenanigans that happened among him, Arle, Rulue, and Schezo led to the four of them becoming friends (for a given definition of "friend," in a few cases), so he's not lonely anymore.
That said, he's still committed to the bit of pursuing Arle without so much as telling her it even is a bit at this point.
Either Satan is unconvinced that his friendship dynamic with her works without him being obnoxious, or he just doesn't want to rock the boat for whatever reason.
Once, his request to marry Arle was accompanied by a Yes/No prompt. Choosing yes has Satan self-sabotage by pleading "Say it again!" until "No" is selected.
Another time, Arle had some memory problems, and actually believed Satan when he claimed that they were engaged. Satan's immediate response was "Uh, Arle? Are you feeling okay?" He then proceeded to drop the bit until Arle got her memory back.
All the same, his affection for Arle is genuine-- though whether it's still romantic, I couldn't tell you.
As for Rulue, he almost certainly appreciates her as a friend, but would prefer her to back off. Not that he can say so, let alone explain why, without breaking kayfabe.
Schezo, Satan is aware, doesn't particularly like him, but does trust him very deep down. That won't stop him from insulting and/or challenging Satan when they cross paths. Satan just plays along because that's also fun for him.
Carbuncle is adorable and Satan delights in showering him in attention when he gets the chance. Carbuncle probably thinks he has the most cringe parent in all the worlds.
Despite his tendency for chaos, Satan is generally against letting things get so out of control that people start getting seriously hurt, let alone become life-threatening.
In addition, he has nothing but respect for the freedom of others, and so will never try to coerce them, abduct them, or otherwise attempt to control them.
Of course, his penchance for shenanigans means that many will assume his involvement in the chaos of the day. They don't trust him to not be involved.
Really, all bets are off until he's confirmed or denied his involvement.
But back to the point. Satan doesn't go out of his way to cause (direct) harm to people, and he respects the free will of others.
So while he could solve most conflicts he's around for, he typically won't do so proactively, just because it would mean committing life-changing (or ending) violence, as well as deprive others involved of making a choice.
When presenting solutions, his method seems to be to first suggest the absolute least desireable one (ie, killing Squares, putting Sig into eternal sleep). Which is actually a useful strategy in giving less extreme solutions a better sense of scale (or so I heard?)
All bets are off if he has any reason to believe Arle and/or especially Carbuncle are in serious trouble.
As previously stated, Satan typically keeps his vast power in check. Manifesting his true abilities causes strain to the surroundings. The general area may start exploding and/or the fabric of reality itself may start to deteriorate.
While Satan generally sports a masculine presentation, he doesn't have a whole lot of regard for gender. He has a bikini for his own personal use, and once expressed desire to be a distressed damsel/princess that gets saved by a hero (read: Arle). And then there's Satan Saturn.
He is over 100,000 years old, he probably existed before humans even had cultural perceptions of gender.
If forced to label him, I'd say Satan is genderfluid.
Speaking of his age, while Satan physically resembles a 20-something-year-old adult (by his choice, as he can shapeshift), he gives off elderly vibes that a lot of people pick up on easily. He is referred to as an "old man" or some variant with surprising frequency.
He does not like this. So naturally, Ecolo has taken to calling him "gramps" on purpose.

Ok. Ok. I honestly have no idea how Chani and Paul's relationship will be handled in the 3rd movie, and honestly? I don't care. I'm confident that however it's handled (so long as it's not some extremely OOC plot with her forgiving him and going back to him willingly, but I'm pretty confident it won't be that) it will change my brain chemistry.
But hold on. hOld on. Because as much as I love the thought of there being a lot of heat and tension and Feelings Feelings (99.9% of which are NOT positive) between the two of them, and it's likely that's the direction the film will go, I'm also somewhat intrigued by the alternative. That there's...nothing. Maybe not at first. But after twelve years, if Denis intends to keep the time jump as written, things fade. No hate, but no love either. As if they'd never known each other at all.
Because it's been twelve years. Nobody knows exactly how old the two of them are supposed to be in the films, but my personal headcanon is like 18/19. Meaning if Messiah keeps that time jump, it would put them in their early thirties. That's...a lot of time. That's a big difference in psychology, in emotional processing, in just...ways of life and ways of living. It's strange to me to assume that both of them would be exactly the same people - on their own or in regards to each other - after all that time.
And of course, that's not to say they'd forget each other entirely. Scars don't fade that easily. Everything Paul went through leaves a mark. Watching your lover succumb to the clutches of power and essentially becoming somebody entirely new, becoming your people's oppressor after swearing to fight alongside you in your rebellion as an equal (and for all you know, that was his plan all along) definitely leaves a mark. But twelve years is still a long time, longer still for people dealing with the level of shit these people deal with in day to day life. Whatever both of them could be up to for all that time leaves marks too, and adds to the pile of shit.
Especially, I think, for Chani. Because her anger and defiance against her oppressors began long before she met Paul. That is her purpose. Paul changed and grew along with her and because of her presence. He is forever touched by her and her memory, and won't, I don't think, ever be able to let go of that. And while Chani's rage and despair and pain at what he did is very real and very much not something I can see just fading away, I could also see her almost using what happened as an excuse to go back to whatever "normal" was before Paul for her. Almost as a coping mechanism. Because Paul did, in her eyes, essentially become a different being after the Water of Life. He's not the man she fell in love with. And maybe it would be easier for her to, rather than engage with that anger directly at him, just...let him fade into the background. He's not him anymore. He's just another evil to defeat.
I've just...realized I kind of have mixed feelings about the thought of her spending twelve years nursing her rage at Paul specifically. Of course it was a betrayal - probably the biggest betrayal she's ever known - and that kind of thing doesn't just go away. But she hated the empire before he was emperor. There's a depressing kind of power in going "ok, I guess it's no different than before, I'll just keep on going the same way I was before any of this happened." As if the months she spent with him were nothing, weren't even real. Just...the thought of Chani as an adult going on day to day with whatever she's doing to fight for her people's freedom, trying desperately to forget that the man who now holds that freedom in a yoke was once one she loved and trusted. And it getting slightly easier every day. Her dreams of her people's political victory mattered long before Paul came into the picture and will matter long after he left. It's not about him, it's still about the emperor. Whos is not the man she loved.
idk I *love* Chani's Feelings after part 2 and all that could come with that, I love it but part of me is also like...if they really do spend 12 years apart does she really have nothing better to do with her time (ESPECIALLY if it turns out she has a child) than plan her revenge against him specifically? Like. as the Emperor Of The Known Universe, yes, because he is at the top of the food chain of oppression she's spend her life trying to bring down. But not as Paul. Not as the man who betrayed her. Because all of that is wrapped up in personal, vulnerable feelings that I feel like to her would seem like a waste of time. She will not give water to the dead, and Paul is dead to her.
And all this would be more tragic because I'm sure, I'm sure that with Paul it's the complete opposite. He cannot forget her. He cannot have a life where he doesn't think of her. And a part of him would be still trying to protect her from his position probably, maybe even hoping in some distant part of his mind that she'll one day come back. Twelve years of grief and guilt cutting a hole in his chest versus twelve years of practicing how to forget.
And then. Again, I doubt this is the route they'll go because it's not as dramatically interesting, at least I'd love to see it in a fic (maybe I'll do it), but it would be so unusual to me to see them meet again, and their story not end in revenge or reconciliation. There's no forgiveness, there's also no surprise killing or coup or anything. Maybe Paul thinks it'll go one of those ways, but instead it's like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, for lack of a better comparison. His relief at her being alive, the indescribable regret, love that is still there, all of that met with...nothing. Because Paul, kid, it's been twelve years. She's moved on. She's fighting her fight, and you are her political enemy and that is all you are. She can't even hate you, because *you* aren't the one betrayed her. For there to have been betrayal, that would mean she had to have loved and trusted you, and she never did. She loved and trusted Usul, and you're Emperor Muad'dib. The two do no equate. She will never love you again. But she can't hate you, because she doesn't even see you as a person - let alone one she used to love.
@fuckyeahisawthat idk if you have a counterpoint or thoughts or whatever i just wanted to tag u
#dune#idk just spitballing here#paul atreides#chani kynes#paul x chani#dune messiah#ramblings. so many.#again idk if this is a prediction or not it's more just a route i don't see a lot of people take when theorizing or writing fic#and i think it could be interesting and REALLY tragic if played right#the thought of paul being so so overwhelmed with emotions upon seeing her again#thinking maybe this is it. maybe they'll reconcile and he hasn't lost her forever. maybe this time he can make things right.#maybe she'll just kill him (and he would thank her)#and she's just like. actually i haven't thought about you in terms of being a human person i used to love for literal years.

You know, a sadly heartbreaking but proud thing for us hookedheart shippers?
No matter how hardened and evil Hook and Bridget became, they stayed loyal to each other for 30+ years.
The books never mention Hook marrying again or having one-night stands on the Isle. Which would have been pretty easy to do, most likely.
Bridget is never shown to have another King of Hearts in the movie, when it's just her and Red.
Say what you want about them being evil, but they were clearly loyal to loved each other and took their marriage seriously.
So true!
Some of the first people that Bridget sentenced to death were probably men trying to become the new King of Hearts Hook and the oldest Hooklings were taken from Wonderland. After the first dozen beheadings, the message mostly got across, but since sixteen years is a long time, there were definitely more than a dozen would-be KoH.
Anyone who knew or heard of Hook in his younger days knows how he'd flirt with anyone and everyone. So you can imagine the surprise when, after being on the Isle for months, the only times anyone sees him do anything close to that is when he flirts to get a good deal at a stall, and even after months turn into years that's still the only thing that happens.
You could even say that since they didn't think they'd ever see each other again, they both resigned themselves to the thought of the other finding someone else.
Bridget resigned herself to the thought of Hook being with someone else since he was living on a prison for the rest of his life with their their eldest children. Maybe he'd fall for someone else now that he wasn't with her. Maybe he would think that was best for their kids. She didn't expect him to live the rest of his life like a widower. Yet none of those things ever stopped her blood from boiling whenever she thought of it.
Hook resigned himself to the idea that Bridget would have to marry someone else because, after all, she's a queen, marrying again would most likely be expected of her, or maybe she didn't want to raise their youngest child alone. He knows that she won't enjoy the idea of having to marry someone else, but even that small consolation doesn't make the taste in his mouth any less bitter when he thinks about it.
And even after all that, neither of them can stomach the idea of being disloyal to the other, not purposely and definitely not by choice. Auradon has already taken plenty from them. They won't take that, too.
I'm sure they had plenty of fights and disagreements, plenty of "I can make him/her worse" moments, but at the end of the day, they're loyal to each other villains or not. Sixteen years later, not even the heroes can argue against that.
Thanks so much for the ask! I totally meant to answer this earlier!
