considering everything we see in "apology tour" and blitzø's character and interactions w others overall, i think it's safe to say that you could definitely read blitzø as on the aromantic spectrum.

sure, he's avoidant of deeper relationships, but i'm willing to bet part of the reason he gets the "fuckboy" title is because the other party doesn't make it clear that it's an exclusive arrangement, and he "cheats" by fucking other people, and then gets confused and upset and reacts with his usual anger response when they get upset w him.

he's a "heartbreaker" bc to HIM these relationships are just sex, w zero romance involved. it is literally a you problem if you catch feelings for him and then expect him to return them just because. of COURSE (under this reading) he reacts with confusion and anger and honestly a little hurt. it isn't his fault he's "shitty at relationships", after all.

obviously, none of this applies to his relationships with verosika or stolas. he clearly felt something romantic for verosika, and obviously he's in love w stolas. still, we saw that it took him a WHILE to develop real romantic feelings for stolas! to the point that he even felt trapped by it, scared of what it meant for their relationship.

he even classically confuses close friendly affection w romantic affection, as many arospec people do; just look at how he flirts with moxxie and millie! "i feel strongly for these people - it MUST be romantic affection, right?"

anyway, i'm not saying any of this is canonical. just saying it's definitely a theme that emerged to me, as somebody who's demi-aromantic myself.

Do you think it’s bad to change a character’s canon sexuality if you’re rewriting hazbin hotel completely? I would like to get the perspective of someone who is rewriting it, and definitely better at it then me. I feel like it’s not nearly enough lesbian rep in the Hellaverse but at the same time I also don’t really feel like adding ocs in the mix, I feel like there’s just so many bi and pan characters and vivziepop does it just so that the shippers can have fun. But at the same time I don’t know if it’s a bad thing to do.

Well maybe but I don't think it's bad but I really don't think I really like the ship though I need to change about their sexuality because Viv sucked at sexuality representation.

I feel the ship doesn't really match their vibes at all since there are to many gay soap opera and drama going on to this show and I don't really like how Viv makes to many Gays,Bi or Pans characters.

Hazbin Headcanons:

The sigils that float around Alastor when he uses magic are not actually a part of his powerset. They're part of the leash on him.

Lilith is not in Heaven relaxing, she's spying on them

Husk hasn't preened his wings properly in years and its actually a big part of why he's so goddamn grouchy

Lucifer has the same problem but make it part of why he's so depressed

Charlie has wings but even she doesn't know that yet

Alastor DOES have a deer tail but he either keeps it hidden inside his pants so it can never been seen or continually removes it

Angel can in fact spin webs but hates to because its fucking weird and instinctual and he does not like having his thorax out

Angel is venomous

Contracts by nature nerf the sinner they're attached to unless otherwise specified, and by that logic almost every member of the Hazbin cast are significantly stronger than they're aware of. With the exception of Husk, who held onto his power, and Alastor who knows EXACTLY how much power he's missing.

Valentino legitimately loves Vox but it isn't mutual (the IRONY)

Velvette doesn't change hairstyles, she changes her whole head

Lucifer’s blood is both addictive and toxic to demons in the long term. It tastes like apple cider and FIRE

Music is ACTUALLY a legitimate form of magic in the Hellaverse and particularly powerful because it can have unintended effects and it is irresistable.

Octavia's powerset is routed in precognition, but she hasn't begun to explore it enough yet to have realized that

Verosika still has lingering feelings towards Blitz and she is PISSED about it

Striker is demi and TIRED.

If he had taken the deal, Striker actually would have followed through with what he'd told Blitzø

At the circus, Blitzø didn't actually have a room (was given to Fizz though he wasn't originally angry about it) and often times he slept in their horse stable. The horses would let him sleep on them and its a big part of why he loves them so much

Fizz also fucking hates Blitzø's Dad

The agent that got possessed can now see demons as they are despite glamoring

Blitzø is actually genuinely hilarious he just has this issue where if he TRIES to be funny he CANNOT do it.

Moxxie doesn't cuss because his Dad cusses A LOT and he sounds too much like him when he does

Millie is one of those people who is good at literally anything they try the first ir second try and it pisses off both Blitzø and Moxxie, but Moxxie at least tries to hide it because he loves her.

first of all, i want to stress that word-of-god is fundamentally meaningless in the sense of actual canon (being a teenager under the reign of that book series about a magic school written by a bigot + the whole 2010s fondness of declaring characters to be gay maybe if you keep watching *wink wink* only to turn around and call queer fans deranged for caring too much... ive got no time for that nonsense)

on the other hand, i think there's also something to say for a show that's about 99.999% canonically queer characters and that sometimes narrative is showing not telling... that is to say... even if there hadn't been any kind of word of god, especially in a verse in which relationship structures are built along fundamentally non-heteronormative dominant lines, one gets to analyse different forms of queerness with far more deliberation than one might in a Very Straight Show In Which We Are Aware That This Was Not Intentional

on the... third? hand. specifically aspec identities, still very underrepresented, still very disputed, still very hard-done by, even when the visuals really do lean into a show-don't-tell obviousness (see: all that marketing for alastor being very aromantic and supported by his narrative in the canon, and it's still not "enough," often simply because many people haven't even heard of ace, never mind aro... i digress, but i think, for relevant reasons), so fizzie being read as demi by people who know

what the heck demi even means

have the ability to engage with an aspec-analysis lens

is probably still the vast vast minority!

all this to say. it's not canon, in the way that, say, his being gay is canon, or blitzø being pan is... more canon (in the sense that the word "pan" may not occur to everyone, but it's more obvious within the queer community and those without may at least land on "bi" and be in the correct ballpark) and moxxie being bisexual is 100% indesputably-stated-out-loud canon

in order for it to be canon, it would have to imo:

either be stated out loud in canon (and even then, we get the word "ace" on hazbin and it's StiLl DiSPuTeD okok im calm...)

fizz would have to have a narrative or speech or some kind of important Beat explicitly dedicated to the fact that he Does Not Feel Sexual Attraction unless he's in love (which... honestly... if that were in connection with some kinda beat in blitzø's narrative about feeling like he's unworthy of love... im just sayin.... + it would lean very neatly into exploring fizzmodeus' being an in-universe very non-normative relationship)

in this case, i do think it's a neat little easter egg, without being pandering or *pat pat on the head,* that is supported by the text, and so yeah. fun. if they backtracked on that and in some way decided fizzarolli has had tons of casual sex that he's enjoyed/pursued... i mean, honestly without the word of god, i'd think that was kinda out of character, which leads me back to "yeah, fun easter egg, only canon insofar as it's not disputed by canon!"

i'm going with grey-ace for him, demiromantic. he'll need a lot of work if you want to get close to him, but i doubt that's a surprise in the slightest.

zero sexual or ( genuine ) romantic experience. he can flirt as long as he needs to in order to obtain something, but that's about it. he's charming by nature, but also absolutely unhinged.

if you do manage to get close to him in that regard you need to know he will be extremely murder - happy with anyone that tries to step in. meaning if someone tries to get in the way of the relationship? hope you didn't value your life.

hates having his tail and ears touched. unless he actually trusts you, but you still have to ask first.

LONG RANT UNDER THE CUT, SWEETIES

What I LOVE about Helluva Boss is, that it's not an actual topic that there are so many queer characters. Stolas sleeping with a man? Not the whole problem, it's more problematic that he has/had sex with an Imp, there are racial differences here that are problematic.

Moxxie being bi (which got revealed later but come on, I saw that cute face and thought "If he's not bi, he's at least demi") was just a thing for his Dad, which seems ridiculous because everyone else was totally cool with it, so it seems? But Crimson is a special case anyway.

Sallie May is a trans character which is related to one of the main cast, but we've actually seen multiple trans Imps before, since they can change their body characteristics, but they still will be recognized by their horns (that's why it irks me when Blitzø gets gender swapped which is FINE, totally. But at least change the horns? Not if he's trans, of course!).

Don't wanna talk about Fizz and Ozzie too much, they have the same "problem" as Stolas and Blitzø. The problem is no that Fizz is a guy (at least that's what we see in the show since he's using He/Him pronouns but I'm always in for intersex or Trans Fizz💖), the problem is the classicism in Hell.

And now we're coming to Blitzø, or how I call him The Sexy Lizard Man ™.

Blitzø had MULTIPLE relationships as we know, his first love we know of being Fizzarolli. Maybe he had a gay crisis, who knows, I guess him being Blitzø he was more scared about being in love with his FRIEND, then that said friend is a guy/identifies as one.

Then we know of Verosika for sure, a weird dynamic for me but I guess it fits a younger Blitzø having his Bad Boy image and I don't know much about his past in his work context, but I guess he started out as a bodyguard (then got into the assassination business). I know we got the whole "He won't go down on me" quote from her, but yeah, they were a couple.

Aaaaand I guess Blitzø had his fair share of one night stands, also switching (I'm so not cool with the whole bottom/top discourse because come on people, it's 2024, do we have to talk about preferences and how they can change in a relationship??), also got awfully drunk, also made out with TransImps at Bees party.

And this absolute horrible adventure that was Chaz.

And the show opens with Stolas and Blitzø, both MEN and identifying as said, having consensual kinky sex (the situation is complicated but they DO consent).

Also Blitzø doing hilariously awkward role play games with crafted versions of Millie and Moxxie in his office. A heterosexual couple.

So, NO ONE bats an eyelash. No one says it's awkward that Blitzø has partners of different genders. They ARE worried about Blitzø using sex as a coping mechanism to be close to someone, they're worried that he can't keep a relationship up without him self sabotaging it but they never comment on his sexuality.

And you know I, as an asexual lesbian woman, being mostly in my leftist green LGBTQ+ bubble, find it so damn comforting and so relaxing that we see so many MANY kinds of love in this damn Cartoon and that it's NORMAL.

Saying Blitzø is straight rubs me in all the wrong places because of all the things he IS, he's not even close to straight.

Okay, so, Helluva Boss summer merch dropped yesterday! What a fantastic day to be broke! But I still gave a peep at all the stuff, incase I have time to get it before it’s gone. The new playmats were spicy as hell, but I couldn’t help but notice that Fizzarolli, an imp so sexualized he has his own line of love dolls, is in a very modest, full-bodied suit. This could be to cover up scars or whatever body harm he endured, given that he’s lacking limbs and horns. But Asmodeus is in a similar suit. Keep in mind that all the other characters were in very revealing, sexy suits and poses, even Moxxie. 

But, yes, there is one other character in a similar swimsuit! Alastor. 

This combined with Alex Brightman’s comments on Fizz’s sexuality only makes me further believe that Fizz is either Ace or Demi.
