i graduated high school 3 years ago and i’m still not over the fact that NO ONE TOLD ME the district would delete all of our school accounts like a month later and now every paper, presentation, project, etc. i made on that account from 5th-12th grade is just gone forever 🫠

with wattpad being purged, it reminds me of when strikethrough (the lj purge) was going on. i wasn’t deep into the fic community yet but all of my fave fucked up klaine fics i loved (mostly the canniblaine stuff) started getting deleted and i panicked but i had no idea how to save shit bc i was like 15/16 and new to fic but i remember the authors i followed panicking and then the ffnet purge. i was actually around for the creation of ao3 and read american idol s8 rpf (no im not proud of it lmao) on there when it was only the one person.

so yeah with all the puritan shit returning, history was doomed to repeat itself and its in the process of doing so.

Had to rescue some game saves from a computer who died and the entire time I treated it like I was rescuing a little AI buddy. Had to pull them from the corpse, drag them out with the help of a different non dead computer, copied them to a thumb drive and held that thumb safely in my shirt pocket near my heart.

Hi rea!! I’m sorry it took me so long to respond to your question about art tips. I am all over the place but im finally getting to this!!

To answer your question, I don’t have any specific art tutorial vids that i remember off the top of my head (and they are def way too far down my YouTube history that I won’t be able to find them) but i definitely watched quite a variety so I think you’ll be able to find plenty that will help you.

A huge piece of advice I’d recommend is really observe the art that you like. Whenever I see an art piece that really wowed me, I take a moment to dissect it and figure out what exactly about it is making me like it so much. Is it the way they angled the nose? Is it the way they blended blue into the shadows? Is it the fact that they made these angles sharper here and softer there? These types of questions.

And then I try to mimic or apply that in my art if possible. To me the best way to learn, other than practicing, is to just observe. So I also recommend looking up “[object] drawing tutorials” on Pinterest as well. It could be for hands, hair, nose, teeth, whatever. And you’ll find plenty of step by step drawing tutorials and those help a lot too. Bc then you practice the ones you liked and then when you incorporate it in your art, you’ll like it even more, make sense?

The same goes for coloring!! Oh and one last piece of advice is that a canvas looks better when you’ve filled up the space. That doesn’t mean you have to fill up the entire canvas. Rather im trying to say that the more detailed your art is, the better. And sometimes the “detail” is just messy lineart. It took me wayyyy too long to realize it, but messy lineart is much easier and nicer imo as long as you keep the lineart around the main focus (typically this would be a face/face features) clean.

That was a lot but it’s the advice I wish I could tell 2021 amira lol. Lmk if any of that was confusing!! I will try to clarify as best I can ᰔ
