with fgo's new years servant being mister richard strangefake I can now officially tally up this year's releases

fgo has released 29 servants this year, including the new years servant on both ends since water saber is arguably part of the collab that came right after.

out of those 29 servants, 15 are originally from another type moon work, counting BB dubai and ushi gozen in this even though they're technically fgo originals. that's basically 50% collab servants, and included massive names like the mahoyo gang, ciel, and kazuradrop, the last of which people have been hoping for basically since the CCC event in 2017 and coping about having a real chance since lb6 release in 2021

of the remaining 14 non-collab servants, only 5 were completely new faces, while the remaining 9 were alternate versions of existing units. out of those 9 alternate versions, 5 were summer versions. these 9 units included marie alter, a unit anticipated since her npc appearance in the requiem collab in 2020, and summer ereshkigal, a unit anticipated basically since ereshkigal's original release in 2017

summer ereshkigal, arguably the most anticipated release of all on this list, has a love meter mechanic and anti-ntr measures that make it so this meter will not fill up when she's borrowed as a support, meaning you have to roll her yourself if you want to use her as intended.
