Some fun facts from form formattting:

ACOFAF had the 2nd highest percentage of NPCs submitted, but only 3 individual NPCs were submitted, Wuvvy and Jeremy Renner both had over 5 submissions each.

Over 13% of submissions were just for Doug Meat

This is the first time (that I recall correct me if I'm wrong) that Tiny Heist NPCs have been submitted!

The Kitchen from MisMag was submitted and I was not going to include it because my intitial reaction was 'that's not an NPC' but the propaganda was so passionate it swayed me and I am excited to see if it will work on voters.

Several pieces of propaganda involved just screaming the characters name into the propaganda box and nothing else. And I apprieciate that kind of love for a character.

The Ravening War is the only sidequest not to have a single NPC submitted for it. However since we have an odd number going forward and since I am ultimately in charge I am launching Quichei into this tournament after going through submissions from previous tournaments.

D20 Sidequest NPC of All Time

Hey Gang, with the NSBU finale having come out this week and the first of the live shows on the horizon I thought it would be a great time to bring back this blog and celebrate the sidequests.

The popularity and length of the Intrepid Hero seasons compared to the sidequests means the IH NPCs tend to dominate these tournaments. So to give our beloved Sidequest NPCs a little extra love I have decided to do a Sidequest only tournament to determine who the Sidequest NPC of All Time is.

Arthur Aguefort is best known as the founder and "Eternal Principal" of the Aguefort Adventuring Academy.

Brennan's archetypical wizard. The wizard voice. The buffoonery. He destroyed the sun out of spite. Chronomancy. Just dunking on wizards. An unserious mentor for an unserious world.

Wuvvy - She/Her

Campaign: A Court of Fae and Flowers

Who is she?

Wuvvy is Delloso de la Rue's close friend and former assistant.

Why is she the NPC of All Time?

She's a champion who left her court to become an assistant. She regularly exchanges 'I love you's with her crush, who only sees her as a friend. She is hurt by them but challenges their love interest to a duel instead. She ripped up the letter. She's devoted and messy and angry. Love of my life, NPC of all time.

She deserves better. Queen shit.

She's worked so hard. She deserves this

Wuvvy is a loyal freind who will cut a bitch if necessary

Cited by both Brennan and Aabria as one of their favorite NPCs of all time, and the only NPC that Brennan has ever wanted to sideline a campaign to follow. For a good part of the campaign, she provides the emotional depth that isn't present in the rest of the campaign, and creates conflict that matches the theme and genre of the campaign. One of the most intriguing and compelling NPCs of all times, side quest or not, and also a perfect girl who should be allowed to commit crimes because she deserves it.

Stacy Fakename is the personification of flight, one of Elias Hodge's reflexes.

Meatwolf - He/Him

Campaign: Burrow's End

Who is he?

Meatwolf, or The Wolf of Theseus is a wolf that was experimented on by the First Stoats to make it a weapon.

Why is he the NPC of All Time?

The goodest boy with the goodest name. Was supposed to be a scary but was turned into an adorable ball of totally non-horrific hugs thanks to a bit of kindness from Tula.

Who is he?

The Skulker, real name Johnny Manhattan (though he prefers Johnny Santangelo), is a thief.

Why is he the NPC of All Time?

He stapled a mask to his face just to remove it within five minutes of talking

Justin Fication - He/Him

Campaign: Mentopolis

Who is he?

Justin Fication is a dog, and Conrad Schintz's best friend.

His name is a play on the word "Justification", as he often comes up with justifications for the other Mentopolis residents' actions.

He is one of the only non-anthropomorphic residents of Elias Hodge's mind. Another being the organ grinder Jacque Ennui’s pet monkey.

Why is he the NPC of All Time?

First of all his relationship with Conrad is extremely sweet and makes me cry every time, a boy and his best friend making it through life all alone (they are just little guys). The idea is justification being paired with conscience is really good, but also he raised a good point that justification can become good OR bad if paired with any concept. His one liners were also pretty good and his dynamic with the whole party was great. (SPOILERS AHEAD!!!) The moment where he was taken over by the Psychometer and looked at everyone and started coming up with reasons about why their life was miserable made me start weeping, but the real kicker was Conrad using his key to save him, vowing that he’ll still love his best friend even when he’s scared and angry and hurting. They make me cry so much.

He is WORRIED about his BONES. he's a perfectly normal guy except he's a freak about his bones. he's insane. he is one of the most classic bit NPC's. what's not to love

Doug Meatskin(previously Doug Meat) is one of Kingskin's goons.

I’m sure he’s been submitted already but seriously he is the best character. he is the mvp he is the goat he is the second president of the usa in the eighties like how there was two popes one time.
