They're so....,,. so..,., issues.,.,. When I first got into Rise back in late Feb/early March, I had started doing my little rat sniffing search for any piece of behind the scenes/insider content ever, and I found this video of some like product demo event?? They were showing the toys or smth idk. And they had these guys come out in the costumes and the WAY THAT THEY COME INTO FRAME..... I couldn't stop laughing at it for 10 minutes bc Mikey comes in all springy and 🤗🤗🤗 and shit and Leo's just 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀 FJDSGHJKHDJKSCJHDSBK anyway so I drew this back in March, forgot about it, and then proceeded to find it again last week. And the anatomy was horrendous so I tried to fix what I could and clean it up a bit so I could actually post it HFJKSLHFKS

Ngl the fact that the guidelines for shinigami eyes say that theyfab is not an anti-trans slur and thus not enough to mark someone as anti-trans and equates transmedicalist as being just as harmful as "tenderqueer" despite it claiming to support nonbinary people is uh. Yeah starting to kinda think this extension has overall been a net negative for the trans and queer communities and was always going to end up like this.

Unfortunately, things aren't the best right now. But they could also be worse, I guess? My former stepdad is out of the hospital! So the sepsis didn't kill him, thank god! But now my aunt is in the hospital with blood clots in her lungs so, uh, that relief was kind of short-lived.

I'm also back to working full-time (because of stupid bureaucracy) despite not actually having recovered from my burnout, so that's also a bit of a struggle. But they have sent me to a therapist now, so there's that? Not on a permanent basis but as a "we don't really know what else to do but try this I guess?" and I was immediately reminded of how difficult a patient I am to every therapist I've run into — this one being no exception.

They're always telling me that I seem so well-adjusted and calm and insightful and have all the tools to handle my mental health and so they don't know what they can do to help me. But, like, my guy — if I can barely function despite all these things, there's obviously something wrong. And it's your job to figure that out, not mine.

So we'll see how that goes, I guess? He's not a bad therapist by any means, I'm just a trickier patient than most because I know the tricks and strategies and use them in all the right ways, but I'm Still Not Okay. And that just throws them for a loop. They quickly run out of ideas when working with me.

And, because of all this stress, all I want to do is read. I've been reading so many fanfics these past couple of months. But, unfortunately, not written anything myself. For literal months. It's not writer's block so much as an instinctive reluctance towards anything that isn't reading (so drawing has fallen to the wayside as well). But I'm trying to find ways around that since I do miss writing. And I have so many projects to finish.

So yeah. Life isn't great right now with so much happening and my thoughts and feelings being all over the place, but I'm trying to straighten things out, slowly but surely. But it's probably going to take a while before I'm back to anything even remotely resembling normalcy. Still — I'm trying.

Thank you so much for reminding me that there are people out there who care about me. I wouldn't say that I've forgotten, but a reminder is always nice. So thank you, truly.

Re-reading Fourth Wing and Iron Flame, knowing Xaden's second signet, makes all of his interactions so nuanced.

I'm at the part where Varrish is trying to take Violet for the torture test, and Xaden is telling her that Varrish plans to use it as an opportunity to kill her for the embarrassment Tairn put him through. And Violet is like, "You can't possibly know that." Oh, but he can and does know that.

Patataj is still running through Barovia, only making the soundest of decisions! For example he wanted to protect some werewolves from certain death after he helped them rebel so he agreed with Strahd's offer of giving him 10 whole favors. He was just too happy about the werewolves being okay.

Rahadin was angry, not so much because Patataj owes favors to Strahd, but because Patataj is clearly absolutely terrible about making deals. And what if something else asks for a bargain?

Can't believe you haven't commented on the "wear a kilt the traditional way" answer from the Attitude interview given this post 🤣

Hah! I did notice that answer in the Attitude interview, and I am of course delighted by David's continued cheekiness. I think he's mentioned in at least a few interviews now (prior to the BAFTAs, and then today) that there will be multiple costume/outfit changes, so I would not be at all surprised if a kilt is somewhere in the cards.

I suppose it might be a bit much to hope for it being this super short kilt, though...

...but we can still keep hope alive.

It's interesting as well that David just spent three months wearing a kilt almost every night for Macbeth, and given that, I imagine he will feel very comfortable in one right now. I know they had to wear shorts under those kilts for the production, but the idea of David being giddy with ecstatic glee at the thought of wearing a kilt the traditional way at the BAFTAs is almost too much to handle. But if he does...I imagine we are in for quite a treat...

ppl who claim the angst of mc's side of lore (especially myths lore it seems) is specific to women would hate to know how countless minorities including non-women can also be hashtag oppressed and relate to the theme of being othered/used and even (gasp) experience misogyny (not that the lore is even specifically about mc's gender or body actually, let alone solely, some terms aside). you can shut down ppl who hate on reasonable aspects of the game and you can like canon mc plus how important she in fact is to many women, without (probably inadvertently but still) discrediting the small percent of fans who peacefully headcanon differently or long for obviously impossible-to-canonize things or see themselves in canon mc and love the story despite not being women

How different would Caro and Johnny's lives be if they had kind and supportive parents? Would they have started dating much earlier?

this is an interesting one, i might draw an art for it when i have time, but my first reaction was to wonder if they would even have dated at ALL if they had happy home lives. That maybe their relationship in school was a trauma response, running into each others arms cuz they both had something the other understood and also because it wasn't allowed and that tends to make you want something more. i DO like to think every universe they'd find eachother and be in love, but with the canon story, and how difficult they are finding navigating their relationship as adults because of all the closure issues and pressure from when they were teens, im curious if they actually would have dated much later if things had been good. He'd have gone on to be a small time rock star, and Caro would have transitioned with love and support, that I know for sure. But as far as relationships went, my gut instinct says they'd reconnect down the line, older, wiser and have an actual healthy relationship instead of a co-dependent one as adults.

i dunno though, ill have to think about it more. its a fun idea!
