Logan and Wade being in Doomsday but not making it into the casting chairs gives me genuine hope that they’ll just be background characters. Like a clip of Erik and Charles banging on Wade’s door to ask THE Wolverine for help again and he answers the door disheveled, obviously in the middle of sexy time, and tells them to go fuck themselves before slamming the door in their faces.

The camera pans to Wade, naked, covered in whipped cream, asking who was at the door. Logan just says some assholes, and continues undressing.

A perfect call back to Logan rejecting them in X-Men first class, as well as the fact that Wade never gets to see any “real” X-Men.

We really need to stop the discourse on whether Marvel is "dead" or "back" a movie that you might think is trash might be someone's favourite movie from the new phase of the MCU

Your least favourite character might be getting a TV show, and someone out there is ecstatic that they get to see their favourite character is being played in live action form

You might hate a movie or show, but someone's favourite actor is playing a character that they never even considered before and now love

Seriously, guys, Marvel isn't dead or back. It just is, and you need to accept that you aren't going to like everything they produce. Because someone out there does

Just like what you like, consume the media you like, talk about your favourite characters and move on. Leave the stuff you don't like to the people you do. It's not that hard

One of the reasons Deadpool & Wolverine worked so immensely well is because we, the fans, didn’t know ANYTHING about the cameos and spoilers. Wade "Deadpool" Wilson isn't Marvel Jesus.

Loki Laufeyson is.

Particularly, the Loki we follow throughout his titular 2 season series on Disney+. Spoilers for Loki, btw.

He "died" for our "sins".

He sacrificed his own freedom so that all of the multiverse might be liberated from the schemes of a controlling madman named Kang. He literally gave "us" free will, whereas all of creation would otherwise unwittingly be subject to Kang's whims as he shaped the timelines to his own benefit. Now we are truly free, so long as Loki tends the tree of life.

Given all of that, I'm truly worried about Loki's role in Avengers: Doomsday. It's unlikely Marvel would recast Tom Hiddleston as another character, except maybe as another variant. Doomsday's significance lends to the probability that the God of Mischief and Stories will appear in some capacity, but why? The titular TV show was an epically tragic, yet beautiful sendoff for the character. If nothing else were to be done with him, I couldn't complain. Using Loki again only runs the risk of disgracing his story... or upending his sacrifice to feed a conflict that seems ready to rattle the cosmos.

Something BIG must be preparing to take place in Doomsday, knowing the rank of certain characters in the scale of the universe. Let's just hope Marvel can balance their vast roster of actors and characters with doing justice by the stories they've built up along the way.
