When they brought him here they said it would only be a rest for a few days. They said cooperate and he would be released quickly.

They didn’t mention the drugs or how days would turn into seasons and visits from friends would come rarer and rarer.

If he asks about a release date the doctors only say “let’s not worry about that quite so soon.”
