Today is the day I will annoy people with my stupid ideas 😀 so here we go: a headcanon where Lance's teacher, the Dragonmaster, is Farmer's godfather/godmother or uncle/aunt.

The Dragonmaster was a very close friend of Grandpa's (or distant relative, as you will), and remembers very well their favourite nephew (Farmer), who also took the path of an adventurer. It will be a shock to the other monster hunters who thought Farmer was an "upstart without anything", and here we are!

I'd love to hear your opinion on this, if it's ok, of course!

It's a really cute idea, especially if it means the farmer and Lance played together as kids!

If we imagine that the Dragonmaster was already (mostly) retired when the farmer was a kid he could have taught them some magic without anyone knowing about it. And as you said, when the farmer joins the guild and every adventurer assumed they're just a kid with no knowledge of monsters and magic, the news that the farmer is basically an unofficial disciple of the highly respected Dragonmaster would come as a shock to everyone. Maybe the reason the farmer was allowed to access the Crimson Badlands so fast is because the old Master spoke with Camilla about the farmer and recommended the farmer's talents and trustworthiness to her? (alongside Magnus and Marlon of course).

What if the other adventurers discover this one day because the Dragonmaster decided to pay Castle Village a visit at some point and met the farmer there? The other adventurers were all talking about him, he was a legend among them like Marlon was after all, and even if he was now retired and focusing on research (and maybe monster breeding?) he could still beat most younger adventurers in a mock duel. And to everyone's surprise when he meets the farmer he just starts chatting with them like they knew each other for a long time, asking about the farmer's training and the farm, obviously proud of their accomplishments.

Although I think that would mean the farmer had to be involved with the magical/adventuring world since they were a child.

Terra close to 'Tena and earth related!

Wild child doesn't even begin to touch how feral this girl is...

Didn't inherit any holy blood, but fuck you, she doesn't need that to kick your ass! You know she's a Wyvern Lord/Dragonmaster unit. Absolutely busted bitch right here; high atk/def, solid hp/spd/skill, weaker res but still a bit better than most of your standard wyvern units. Proficient with swords and lances, has a wicked throwing arm with her spears.

Her wyvern is on the smaller side, but she's fierce and fast -- Terra named her Celina for the sky; poetically making them heaven and earth when they terrorize the field of battle. Reckless, insane stunts are pulled both on and off the battlefield with these two. They love to push the limits, and they tend to just laugh it off when things go a bit pear shaped.

Gives her uncles ulcers, I think.

Doesn't listen ever, at all, to anybody -- but gets genuinely very upset when people take this as her not caring for or respecting them. If she doesn't like you, she'll tell you to your face without hesitation so there isn't any confusion. It's the awkward fumbling with people she does like that's confusing. Shoulder punches people she crushes on like a very normal person.

Bad ass bitch unless you bring her parents into it and then she's like "FINE. Guess I'll play NICE. I hate you. love you mom and dad tho mwah."

Chapter 15 Part 4: Cormag Powers Up

At the top of the map, Eirika, Innes, and Saleh are dealing with these two wyverns, and some pegasus knights have also appeared.

Once again, the pegasus knights are going to be hilariously weighed down by their steel lances. They only have like 5 con.

For comparison, the wyvern knights also have steel lances, but they're at least working with 10 con, so they only lose 3 speed.

Eirika barely does any damage to the wyvern knights, so I send her to the left to start hitting an Axe Fighter.

I put Innes on the castle entrance to give him some avoid for enemy phase, and he destroys this wyvern rider.

Saleh one-rounds the other Axe Fighter, leaving the hurt one still there.

Gerik attacks this Mercenary who was moving towards us through the desert.

And I have Ephraim hand off the Master Proof to Cormag so that he can reclass!

His two options are Wyvernknight, just like Tana and Vanessa, or Dragonmaster.

Dragonmaster is actually pretty similar to Vanessa and Tana's second option, Falconknight, in the sense that it gives up the Wyvernknight's "Pierce" skill for gaining a second weapon type, swords.

Also, note how the Japanese differentiates between the two types of scaly fliers. Cormag's base class, Dragonknight, and the Dragonmaster class both have "dragon" in the name, and they are depicted as being four-legged animals. The Wyvernknight is the only one with "wyvern" in its name, and it appropriately only has 2 legs.

This distinction was lost in the English translation since all three classes have "wyvern" in the name. Cormag's base class is "Wyvern Rider", and his two options are "Wyvern Knight" and "Wyvern Lord".

Honestly, all three names end up sounding really similar in English, and there was this nice distinction between the different number of legs, so I don't know why things got translated the way they did.

<Lute voice> Also, technically a wyvern is a dragon-like creature with only two legs, though they are typically depicted with a barbed tail as well, so really, the naming is sub-optimal no matter which language you are looking at. </Lute voice>

I decide to do something different with Cormag and have him choose Dragonmaster. Hey, swords might be useful for him! He has high enough strength that the reduced might from swords won't affect him as much.

Speaking of wyverns, Vanessa eliminates this guy with the Axe Breaker she still has.

And even more Pegasus Knights appear!

There are also reinforcements coming out of the two forts down here.

One of them every turn will have a javelin.

First thing I do up top is get rid of the last wyvern with Innes.

Ephraim is making his way up towards Eirika, and he takes out some fool on the way.

I move Eirika to the left since she took a bunch of damage the last couple of turns, and I move Tana and Cormag right to start fighting the Pegasus Knights.

Moving Eirika that far left also allows me to heal her with Moulder.

I arrange Franz to be in range of both Cavaliers, while Vanessa is only in range of the one with a Javelin. Lute is not in range because Vanessa is protecting her. ;)

Up top, I also have Saleh buy a healing staff since he has this nice staff rank, but doesn't start with any staves in his inventory!

He also really doesn't need to worry about being in range of the Pegasus Knights either.

Also, lol at these Cavaliers attacking Franz. Nice zero damage, buddy.
