started by jotting down log stuff more neatly so here's those:

anywho! scrambled my way into the lab looking area where they tested ways of entering the "dark world"

naturally, I tested what happens with the 2nd prototype and exploded myself, so curiosity really did kill the cat

i am yet to find the code to the area in the reservoir, I think

my memory is fading of what I did um uh

I think I watched the slide reel on the vault? one of the slides at least

took a visit to the dark world in the submerged structure, wrote down what I found there, but it was nice and pretty! couldn't really figure out how to leave the main island without waking up though

also saw the vision in the vault while there, neato

weent back to the endless canyon(? I believe) and finally got down to the river, n took a nice boat ride!

saw the vault structure again, got retold what I already knew since I had been there again, and continued forth to swampy looking area, but didn't stay long bc closed door and then I heard a screech and got scared

boat ride led me all the back and the the loop ended! and that's all for today :D

I think I mainly need to explore the dark world stuff more, interesting stuff

also! I noticed that the RGB pixel effect appears on the dark world reflections and not the light world reflections when the loop ends or I die, wonder what that could imply :3c

back from a pretty successful day in the (outer) wilds

so! started by conquering my fears and went back to the dark bramble (ignoring several fish related deaths) to investigate the hollow vine, and sure enough, it was a hollow vine. Found the jellyfish and then accidentally plummeted back down into the bramble so now i'm missing stuff there still, but i would like to flex that i made it back to my ship entirely safely (it was still at the vine) >:3

then i kind of wandered against the walls in hopes of finding wherever im assuming the vessel was, not exactly sure whats going on with that, but im assuming its somewhere dark bramble related based off the brittle hollow mural?

segway! i FINALLY went to the southern observatory and hoo boy that was some good lore!

also hey finally started taking silly clips

for whatever reason it records my music way louder than i have it, so uh, kind of ruins the mystical vibes this game has but oh well. damn you happy character playlist. also the mic is not! good on the xbox game bar! prolly need to look into that if i can

anywho! took some notes:

with my newfound cyclone knowledge, i took a voyage back to giants deep and went beneath the current! can't say i knew what to do if anything down there, but hey looking at the jellyfish was nice! may have gotten too curious about the core and shocked myself but shh

it looked like the jellyfish came from the core? still not sure what to do with this knowledge but it was nice

also tried to go to the sun station again and once again failed the jump. need to figure out a more reliable way of getting across :'o, based on the status message, the bridge only breaks like 8 minutes before i gets there, though i don't think i can really get there much earlier considering the ash twin? who knows

thats all for today though! very fun getting back into things

i guess my to do list now is,, figure out where the vessel is if i can find it, figure out the whole quantum moon and the eye thing, aaandd figure out how to get across the sun station

started the dlc today >:3 (outer wilds, we are so back)

gonna gloss over how the dlc starts bc I'm pretty sure anyone reading this knows already, but yeah, satellite, transparent png stranger, very cool stuff

and then bam!! a whole circular world to explore :o

very quickly I got attached to my lamptern friend, beloved lamptern, and started watching all the lil movies around the area

ivee got some notes I jotted down after about 3 hrs in, so if something is misremembered then that's why:

speaking of I should probably look in my log to know the names of the buildings and stuff-

the notes kinda contain what I know or think I know so far in terms of what happened!

coool stuff though!! not really sure where to start talking about it all haha

I enjoyed goin down the rivers it is very fun

about 2-3hrs in I watched the movie about the artifacts and going eepy with them to light em up! and what do you know, I go eepy and boom everyone's gone and it's dark :<

(side note I liked the fact the embers in the doze off screen was green rather than orange! nice details)

thee sleep world, which I have dubbed dark world until I know it's a real name, is, scary! I don't like it!

I'm curious what it is exactly, is it all fake and the owls are just trying to be happy considering the circumstances?? or is it real somehow?? I unno

it's nice and peaceful-so far-but waaa

saw the owl watching the movie about their home, so of course I shined my light on it which made it to blank! not sure if that angered the owl or not because I was too scared to find out :')

every corner I turned I expected to see a giant owl or something, I have no idea if they are friendly or not and I don't know if I want to find out

the hand statue thing mechanic was pretty cool though! I liked lighting everything up :D

also I heard a screech somewhere in my time there- not fun to hear

but then I kinda accidentally put out my light and woke up again so oops

mainly been exploring that one little village on the mountains with the river (where the artifact movie is), need to go back!

main missions are! explore more light world stuff, and explore more dark world stuff!

I think this dark world is gonna be a dark bramble situation all over again :'D (it is scary yet all the important stuff is there)

since i mentioned the playthrough where the guy used a notebook, might as well show some of it from that playthrough (don't worry about spoilers it all in portuguese)

oo neat!

this is kinda how mine is going, leaving room under each part to go back and write stuff

(for example I have no idea what they are talking about with the aquatic species I do NOT remember learning that at all lmao)

also starring places I need to look into or find more about

I'm planning to probably dedicate some pages to scattered thoughts and theories, as well as write down nomai or things that I think are important

and maybe summaries of major projects like the ash twin project

yes it is the same song, it is in the OST but it is also BIG spoilers.

it isn't a random tune either, its the game's leitmotif! it plays in various points, like the main menu, credits and of course

the ending.

i still cry sometimes when i listen to it

the dlc has an unique version of it too at a specific moment.

oh and fun fact about the main menu, if you play close attention with headphones you can hear a tune start in one of your ears and then the same tune start in the other ear.

iirc(i am speaking from memory, i heard about this somewhere but i can't find it now) the first one was played by the game's composer when they started development, and the second one was played when they finished.

ohhh that is actually so cool, I love music in video games sm

white hole station, made to teleport back to brittles hollow (and only BH) when the black hole flings you into space. and it spins! assumably to realign with BH

uhh dunno if it's the station specifically but the white hole and the black hole have the whole being there before you actually teleport thing going on that the nomai were curious about, (22-minute thing?) thus they started conducting research about it at the high energy lab (hinted via writing and the projection stone)

and I may be blanking on other stuff I didn't write down

but another thing I'm curious about is the ice around the station, I don't think I know why that's there yet if there's a reason! is it related to the interloper at all? idk!

yello! back from yet another mini outer wilds exploration for the first time in about a week

for the shorter time I played today I actually did discover quite a bit

started by visiting gabbro and talking about their quantum poem thingy, cool notes on that!

took a second exploration to the gravity cannon surrounding giants deep and went through the crack in the window! unfortunately was not bright enough to realize the place had no gravity and parked my ship on the ledge outside the window so consequentially my ship entered giants deeps orbit

one quick meditation later and I decided to go back to brittle hollow to the hanging city! mostly went to the icy place (that is not where the dome was, is it the north pole?)

a lot of cool stuff on the quantum moon and the eye there! I realize now the nomai were following the eyes signal and reached this galaxy I believe, and the cannon at the start was trying to go after it too, maybe the eyes location is related to the changing direction of the cannon every loop? i unno

now I feel like I too might want to try and find the eye, baby steps though

also I now know you need to land on the south pole of the quantum moon! or I believe so, would've been useful information to know before I started poking at it haha

trying to figure out what the big black hole uh thing (the one with the switch to go up and down) is and how to get to it

another loop later I noticed the random thing my ship was able to lock onto, which was the deep space signal, and found the satellite! not sure what or if I could do anything with it, but I got an achievement for rendering it unusable or something lol

took a quick trip the interloper and the frozen shuttle and actually read the mini log there, poor nomai

then accidentally stumbled across the white hole station? which I? never realized was there? at first I thought brittles hollow had somehow completely collapsed at the beginning of the cycle but saw riebacks signal still so we all good, neat little station it had there!

I realized after I meditated again that I probably should have messed around a bit there because my curiosity is set to what happens if I fly into the white hole but oh well

my main goals right now are to find the way into the dome on brittles hollow, investigate the quantum knowledge tower, and also gather the courage to go back to dark bramble

oh! that reminds me I read on a wall that the fish skeleton on the ember twin relates to finding a way to evade the angler fish? I know where the skeleton is I just didn't get there fast enough last time, so another thing to look at!

FINALLY got to the angler fish skeleton, wasnt hard i am just stupid and always forgot where the sunless city was, eventually realized i could just go through the escape pod tho

now i know the angler fish is blind! and i assumed that means it responds to sound

soo went to test that out and sure enough

went into the dark bramble and didnt touch anything, i think i went in through the wrong angle though because instead of going towards my scout, and feldspar, i went straight towards the fish :'D

cool looking fella, absolutely terrifying though

i did one little tap of the jet and bro did a full 90 degree turn straight at me and ate me lmao

horrifying, absolutely hate dark bramble, will go again

i RETURN! and have seen some things in outer wilds

I MADE IT THROUGH the awful disgusting horrible place that is dark bramble and found feldspark! maaybe a little underwhelming than what i hoped for after going through portal after portal, but still pretty cool, they had some neat things to say. wasnt sure if their ship had something? didnt see if i could fix it or not since the loop was ending

also they made it to the core of giants deep?? and didnt completely share how?? so mean

after that i told the museum guy about my findings! and then went back to giants deep, talked to gabbro, and then investigated the giant cyclone on the (north?) pole and found the quantum trial thingy!

got stuck on the 3rd one till the end of the loop, but went back and fully completed it! knowing that images stop the quantum objects is cool!

so! didnt use that knowledge at first but then found the mine 2b(?) on timber hearth and man the ash projection thing is cool, i gotta know where or what that is

then! saw the quantum moon and decided to put my new found camera knowledge to the test, and sure enough, i landed! though i accidentally closed the image trying to get out of the ship and just imploded or something so uh, something to look into i guess

thats it for now though! its starting to feel like all this quantum stuff has a pretty big role in this game

FINISHED THE DLC BOYS (outer wilds SOILERS)

I was, NOT expecting to finish today at all but here we are. I thought I would do one area and then wuss out of doing the next for the day

but! being with fren motivated me I think (shout out again to @dramaticuser, truly an amazing awesome wonderful fren, even better than fourte- (thank you for putting up with my shenanigans!))

today I set my goal to getting to the fireplace door with all the singing owlks! several attempts of trying to push my way past that one, I finally just let them die and then went past

found out about jumping off during the loading screens! so that was neat

then went down into the hole with all the cabins, it was, to say the least, a process, but I managed

the area down there was a little tricky, died a couple times. when I say I have no idea how I got past the owlks I mean I have no idea how I got past them. from what I understood, I triggered them, they came after me, I got stuck on a balcony, sat there for some moments, observed that the owlk had moved, and jumped over the balcony and ran to the door

do not know how it worked but it did! so who am I to complain. anywho I was informed by the slide reel that killing myself is the answer to getting past the bells, very neat

n so I did, went back to the shrine, unlocked it, and bam, met the only good owlk (do they have a name besides the prisoner? has the fandom dubbed them anything?)

the cutscenes there were just, really sweet and sad, I got goosebumps and a little bit of tears :')

I'm glad the owlk could finally be free of just everything, buddy deserved it after everything they did

after following their lead, I woke up again and started my way to the end of the universe! again!

I am really happy the owlk was allowed to join the music gang, it was so sweet waaa, love u little owlk

also! new species in the new worlds! very cool!!

I absolutely love this game to bits I am so happy I played it in the end, I'll miss the experience, but hey it was fun while it lasted

expect, a whole lot of art from me I think, I need to draw everything from this game

thank you for the adventure outer wilds!! it was an absolute blast (literally)

more dlc gaaaming (ow spoilers)

first of all shout out to @dramaticuser for watching along and helping my one braincell (and for being awesome in general, love u fren! today was fun!)

uhh writing this several hours after playing so I'm most definitely going to forget stuff, genuinely I really only remember the end :')

but! I started by finding the code to the burning reel place, of course I forgot where exactly but found it

then! went to all the places it pointed too and saw all that, so also cool stuff

and then went back to the dark and turned off the lights , yaay

the birds don't like me :(

I'm glad they don't outright smack me in the face but it is quite rude of them to wake me up

(thank you drama for this screenshot lmao)

either way, several fails later, managed to fearfully scramble my way into the big slide reel place with the big projector and learnt about 'leaving' the world area (walking away from the artifact)

I don't thiink that's where I meant to go but it was pretty cool

after that I simply, did not return! I went to rieback to tell them about solanum :D

I realize now I think I was subconsciously stalling to not go back, but the dark is inevitable so :'))

unfortunately had to go after that point so till next time! gonna check out the other dark areas with my newfound knowledge I think
