Notes: Racist trope, mumbley audio, costumes feel out of place, set design is basic, stilted writing and dialogue, bad picture quality

Review: Honestly cringy the whole way through and barely audible with bad video quality which makes this movie just barely watchable. The dialogue is choppy, writing has no suspense as things are just revealed without being earned and the main character is all over the place between escape, romance, and a rather lack of emotional concern for the things he experiences. The costumes and sets in particular felt too cobbled together and modern for the historical feel it seems they were trying to go for, no sense of time/place. This is a premise for a film that's been done before and better elsewhere. The only barely entertaining thing was the sequence where the Count has a hallucination of a magician who summons a bunch of plastic animals on string which was a bit amusing but lead nowhere.

Overall I give Dungeon of Harrow(1964): Not worth it, just bad👎

Racist Trope: The only black character (Mantis played by Maurice Harris) in the film is a slave that is verbally berated, beaten and killed in a terribly cringy and racist way. Is called a "Nubian" and "animal" and dressed caricature.

Too Young: The young tortured girl Ann comes onto the main character Aaron with cleavage out as a way of some kind of weird thanks for saving her maybe (motives unclear) but she looks VERY young which made me quite uncomfortable. I couldn't find the actress's age at the time but felt off with the age of the lead man especially.

Harrow missing the tips of her eyelashes after emerging from the entropy field reminds me of how Marcille gets the eyelashes on her left eye broken off after being petrified.

I guess this is my way of publicly announcing that I'm making a dedicated 5e necromancer class heavily inspired by the book series The Locked Tomb. More details on the class later (or sooner if you are in the 5e homebrew community).

I am not making a cavalier class or subclass because that already literally exists in 5e.

marius does seem to have a lot of complicated feelings about what he did to armand and I really hope one of them is guilt for his thinking in buying armand originally. he talks in blood and gold about how when he heard armand's mind, the entire reason he wanted him was because he thought, here is a child who has been so hurt that it will be no loss to the world if I make him a vampire. and he wavers on this later and I hope it's because he saw this child make friends and learn things and love rings and watches and swordfighting and realize that actually there is never a child so damaged that taking them from humanity is no loss. I wonder if part of the reason he never tried to talk to armand after seeing him with the children of darkness is that he saw that boy changed into a lonely stoic cult leader with no more will or verve and was too consumed with guilt to even try. I hope that guilt started when he took armand to kiev rus and saw how much armand still loved the family he hadn't seen in years and for a while barely remembered from trauma. also I hope marius explodes into one thousand pieces but that's mostly irrelevant

There’s a whole section of the Sixth House archives dedicated to pre-resurrection artifacts, and they don’t really know how to use a lot of them, and don’t have records to figure it out. Palamedes ran one after reading Dulcinea’s novels and telling her about the game. Cam played a fighter-monk who was an acolyte. When Palamedes played, he played a necromancer soley because he thought it was entertaining. He learned to work with bone to make miniatures and their dnd group became legendary among teenagers
