“I have a lot to figure out.” I’m so wondering if she suspects Tobert at all. I’m not sure if her trust in him feels out of character because she doesn’t actually trust him, or because we’re meant to think she’s not doing well.

The best parts of this season for me, someone who doesn’t care about theater, have been the time spent with the trio together and with minor characters we already know from previous seasons. So many shows keep trying to expand their universe when what they should really be doing is going deeper into themselves. I hope next season’s victim is an Arconia resident who makes that happen.

We could just assume Gregg was allowed to post bail, but actually I think kidnapping and attempted murder are just misdemeanors in this universe.

Watching Spyfall 1 with commentary!

People on the commentary: Jodie Whittaker, Tosin Cole, and Chris Chibnall

Ohhh the score in the car scene is the Master's theme, this is why I do like the writer and showrunners do commentaries because you get tidbits like this. It's a hint to who the main big bad is.

I'm glad Tosin asked where Chibnall got the idea for the evil plot and Chibnall said it was inspired by a book he read called Sapiens which I think had elements of Data-ism, and Data as worshipped and and article he read so long ago about DNA being the most efficient storage system for data.

Apparently Jodie's had constant battles with Alexa and Siri about understanding what she's saying, apparently they constantly hear her say 'Julie' when she says her own name.

Mandip has the best hair according to Jodie, and Mandip told Jodie her hair felt so silky.

A discovery: Jodie and Tosin are visual learners. Jodie says she only really gets it when she sees it done, no matter how people explain or how many times things are explained, it's only when she sees how its done that she gets it. A really interesting tidbit that.

Oh, I didn't notice the little trip Ryan does going up the stairs what a nice visual catch.

Thirteen meeting O for the 'first time', and one that looks according to an Australian (from Verity Podcast) looks very much like the Outback was filmed in South Africa.

Aww, I love that they're all praise for Sacha Dhawan's performance. Also, they filmed Spyfall most of the scenes in order, it's kind of amazing. I know that doesn't happen often.  acha fit so much in the very tight knit group.

Ohhhh, the scene where Thirteen runs out of O's house to check out the threat was when a huge spider fell on Jodie. Jodie then proceeds to tell the story where a spider landed on Mandip when they filmed Arachnids in the UK and I learn that in a zombie apocalypse Jodie will win survivor of the year. Hee.

Fun facts: The voice of the Kasaavin is actually the voice actor for the Face of Boe and Chibnall is totally bought into RTD's Jack is the Face of Boe theory. Ohhhh. That's why he's bringing Jack back in his time, he wants to seed that fact in!

Tosin Cole wants to do voice work!

Oh that's fascinating, the Kasaavin dimension looked different the first time, they shot in a completely different set. The original set was black reflective surfaces with water but in post, it wasn't epic enough and it looks more like a studio. Because the Kasaavin dimension should be endless infinite space. Jodie notes that the new Kasaavin dimension looks like tremors.

I do love the stillness in the moment in the Ryan and Yaz scene in the outbook.

What I'm getting from this commentary too is that Chibnall wanted to put Thirteen in a bowtie.

"That's the thing about the continuity of Doctor Who, none of it really adds up." - Chibnall, about the Easter egg scene where O tries to get Graham to get to know more about the Doctor.

Chibnall's easter eggs that O is the Master to bury in plain sight: "Ridiculous." (Master speak for: Your TARDIS looks stupid. Heh.) "I'm not good at undercover" (to throw of the Doctor) and (Spymaster) as a deliberate poke at the Doctor.

Oh nice, the scene where Thriteen confronts is the first in dialogue scene.

Nice too that Jodie notes how strange it is to have a modern handgun in Doctor Who, because it is strange to see it, this is a show that uses these kinds of props sparingly. I love that Jodie asked if this was a choice from Chibnall and Chibnall agrees it is something that doesn't come up often and the show and there's certain compliance they have to do for a scene with guns in DW.

Oh the hangar scene was apparently a last minute location because they were supposed to be in a hangar with real commercial planes but the loction fell through.  

I love Jodie and Tosin's very vocal admiration for Sacha's performance, especially during the switch from O to the Master. I love how Tosin describes it, its like the Master finding his body again, and becomes loose, and how they feed off the energy and Sacha's unexpected performance.

Chibnall fanboying and explaining about the TCE. And fanboying Segun Akinola's scoring for the last scene, building and layering.

Jodie says she likes the bits when the Doctor's at a loss, and Chibnall's got an interested: "Do you?" I found Chibnall's interest in that interesting.

Oh that's nice bit of tidbit, it was Jodie's idea when Thirteen appeared in the Kasaavin dimension and Thirteen fell forward.

Do u really not like John?

Okay I got a few asks about this, and I do want to point out something because I’ve realized most people here have never actually talked to me personally and probably just think I’m an ASSHOLE. (Despite what Clau tells you) And since idk if I have ever even explained this to people, especially since I’m almost at 200 followers?? and I’m pretty sure the only the ones who know this are the ones on the discord which is not the majority so uhhhhh I’m giving yall a lil About The Author section of this liveblog through this very ask. 

Yeah so this is about me and my view on characters and how I cherish em, ah bing bong, thats right lassies. (I kinda went on a tangent).

It basically takes me a while before I really feel for a character because I have to get to know them and explore their personality deeper. But thats just me. Not necessarily because their first appearance doesnt strike me right away, but I like figuring characters out before I give a final verdict. I feel thats a pretty normal thing, really. Im not an automatically love-struck person. Kinda like how I may be horny but I have standards.

That being said, I tease people. I tease people I know, I tease characters even if I don’t know them as a character just yet, I tease inanimate objects, I tease uhh my cat, telling him he sucks ass and hes a bastard and needs to chill the fuck out when he drinks water. But I love him. Yknow, thats just me. So, it may seem as if I don’t like a character but really it just takes time before I really feel for them, or at least understand what they’re going through/their goals and interests/the way their perceive things such as choices, opinions and getting through this game. So it’ll probably take me a while before I really adore a character in Homestuck besides the ironic factor, or the “I call dibs” ie my love for Dirk who I have no fucking clue as to what his personality is, I just like the way he looks. Especially since most of these characters are getting introduced at slow paces which I’m guessing is to explore their personality one at a time and not a giant clusterfuck.

HOWEVER, I can see a character and still go neat I really like you as a person, you seem great, you look like someone I can understand in the future. But in the meantime, I will continuously tease you to the point where it spites others and everyone thinks I hate you, because lol thats how I deal with affection. Basically, if I say “You suck” it means “Ily” unless I genuinely mean it, but I feel it’ll be obvious once the time comes to it, dw.

On the bright side, ngl to you all, Dave seems to be the one who is coming in closer than the rest for this soon-to-be feelings jam. Pretty sure, he’s gonna be the first actually, well the first that I’ll end up liking the most. The only thing is, I’m not sure if this is me being pitiful for his current situation or me liking him as a character. Because there is a difference. You can feel bad for someone yet they’re not necessarily your favourite. Or vice versa.

So, I will have to see about that the more I go in. But for now, I still do like Dave, don’t get me wrong. I like John, I like Rose, I like Jade, I like Dad. I just like to make fun of characters because Im a bastard who cares for people. Like how I call my pokemons ugly, evil, or how I tell people to leave but I don’t necessarily mean it. Thats just my personality. Usually most people get used to it, they be mean back as jokes or they call me out on my bullshit and its all just fun and games. 

That being said, I don’t think I hate any character yet. So I don’t hate John. Well I don’t hate any of the characters I have so far read. I did hear of others, and their bastardness, but I havent physically met them so I can’t say that just yet, since they’re not SUPPOSED to be known by the reader. Which is the cards I’m playing with right now. Eheh, so youre not getting my opinion on that just yet, no chief.

Yeah, so that was a random misc thought intervention from me, but I feel it was necessarily for me to point it out. Sometimes u gotta be serious through asks smh.

FFX Liveblog Repost 1

I posted this on my DW (cygna_hime FTR), but no one seems to be interested in talking about my FFX Opinions over there today, so I’m reposting it over here. This just gets us to Besaid village. Yeah, I talk a lot.

I'm feeling a yen for cutscenes, so am starting a new save, this one with the original sphere grid and music. I also have a save that's in the endgame sidequest zone, but I'm not feeling blitzball or monster catching at the moment (and I'm never feeling chocobo racing, worst minigame in history that isn't an escort mission). Tidus is very different in the brief time we see him in his element in Zanarkand, where being a sports star has slightly gone to his head (or at least made him think he can flirt). Being perpetually wrong-footed is good for his personality. Although, if I were a national (worldwide? it's not like there's anywhere but Zanarkand) sports star at seventeen, I'd probably have some ego too. When was he allowed to start playing professionally? He has to have been new and shitty at some point. Duggles player with the braids remains super hot. That's just facts. Too bad she's, like, double-fictional. I also still want Bahamut's excellent hoodie. Good fashion choices, although I would wear a shirt under it. So is the sword one of Jecht's old ones, or is it literally a "gift" in that SinJecht has been leaving presents on Auron's doorstep like a cat for the last ten years? Someone fic that, please. It is profoundly hilarious to me that Auron is supposed to be like 30, the more so now that I'm 30 and still have a severe case of babyface. He still looks much more like my dad (age 60-odd) than like me - more hair, but also deeper face lines. Then again, I guess when you're dead you look as old as you feel, in which case I don't want to think about how I'd look. Quantumly uncertain, I suspect. Is she a Literal Child or aged beyond belief? It's both! Still, JRPG ages tho. G-d, I'm older than almost all these characters who still "feel" my age. I mean, part of it is that life-stage-wise I'm somewhat younger than Tidus still (job whomst), which is...pretty depressing...and part of it is that JRPG ages are fundamentally arbitrary, but also, fiction is funny that way. I mean, Tidus, Yuna, and Rikku are believable as teenagers, it's just that when I see them I'm on some level their age and meeting them for the first time. Spiran ecology count: 1 hawk/eagle/seagull thing. It took me a minute to figure out the Al Bhed Compilation Sphere, which I'm not sure I've ever actually used before. I want to know what the Al Bhed at the beginning are saying for once. I'm impressed Tidus knows how to make a fire with flint and tinder. I sure don't. Maybe he was a Zanarkand Scout. It makes pretty much 0 sense that the Al Bhed, an ethnic minority, are confused by the idea of someone not speaking Al Bhed. Especially considering that Rikku speaks Spiran/Common/whatever without even an accent. So does her dad, for that matter, but her brother struggles later to put together a few words. I guess it's a skill only some Al Bhed take up? I presume anyone who goes among Yevonites with any regularity speaks Spiran, even if they pretend not to. It can be a great advantage to be assumed not to understand. Spiran ecology count: a bunch of fish. Tidus's brain carefully elides the fact that in his world no places other than Zanarkand exist. I mean, that's how dreams are: you don't always think about stuff. And of course Jecht shows up to get us on course for the plot. This is much less of a plot device if you think of it as the character having an itinerary for Tidus to follow. Spiran ecology count: a flock of seagulls. aaaand it's my dude Wakka! He knows two things, and they are blitzball and adopting stray teenagers. Well, I guess he's also fairly well up on Yevonite religious doctrine, but that is literally all lies he's going to have to unlearn in the course of the game, so it doesn't count. /gently swims over to pick up the Moon Crest before Tidus has any reason to know it's there or might have any use to him whatsoever. I love the Aurochs, not least because all of them (except Letty) give me free items. I try to keep as many of them as I can on my blitz team. Unfortunately in my other save I had to let Datto go to make room for Nimrook. Can't let other teams have Nimrook. There's an entire post in here about FFX and breathing underwater, which is apparently just a skill that you can learn that then allows you to play a five-minute half of physical activity and being tackled without coming up for air. I have a feeling Wakka and Chappu pushed each other over that cliff a lot. Wakka is probably literally wondering if this is his brother somehow come back with different hair and clothes, on a subconscious level even if he doesn't let himself think it out loud. Tidus is not yet having it. He'll get there. They're both friendly guys. Spiran ecology count: 1 fuckton of coral. Beautiful. "If we give it our all, I can walk away happy." No, Wakka, we are going to win, and I will reset as many times as it takes to make that happen. I wonder what the religious landscape of Spira was like in the pre-Sin days. They presumably had one, or several. It's a people thing. Something animistic, maybe? I mean, presumably fiends and the whole pyrefly situation were still there. Spiran ecology count: 2 cats with weird spine fluff. I want to pet them. Spiran ecology count: 1 dog which I also can't pet. I wonder what the many other statues in the temple are supposed to represent. In my little worldbuilding corner, they were all High Summoners, and the four big statues are just the most famous or recent. Keeps the stonecarvers in business. But I think it's supposed to be that only the four were successful, over a thousand years. That's a little too depressing for me, though. Especially given the number of summoners per year we see kicking around. Three at a time at least, plus more for there to be "rumors" of them disappearing before any of the named ones were missing...Surely it's more likely for one of them to make it through. If you don't turn her away, Dona shows up in Zanarkand shortly after you do. I really love the NPC dialogue. Everyone has their own sentence or two, and they change throughout the game based on plot progression. There's worldbuilding - I love the fact that Besaid is known for its weaving - metaplot, and just all kinds of flavor that make the world feel lived in.

god this line was VERY good the first time around so seeing it again is like Ah Yes i remember this Good Good content. i really like how glynda gets painted in this bit; canon (murphy? mentioning CANON? in WHICH timeline???) really did glynda poorly and i’d love to have had just.... MORE of her in general. luckily offal hunt is like if someone made a fifteen-tier glynda goodwitch wedding cake and then planted your face, neck, and shoulders into it.
