Despite being much larger than Cohozuna is, Horroboros also has a lot more bones, so it doesn't yield that much more meat compared to a Cohozuna. On the bright side, though, it's also much less fatty.

Dionysus represents much more than the God of Madness and Frenzy; he embodies the essence of mental health. Dedicating time and effort to healing your mind can be seen as an act of devotion to Dionysus. This is why advocating for, discussing, and learning about mental illness and your experiences can be so beneficial.

He is more than just the God of Wine; he also embodies sobriety and restraint. He teaches us moderation, guiding us not to overindulge in what our bodies cannot handle. Choosing to abstain from alcohol or maintaining sobriety can be a profound act of devotion as well.

Excessive consumption, whether it's alcohol, negative thoughts, or anything else, can be harmful. Dionysus serves as a reminder that healing from such excesses is possible.

While he embodies the spirit of fun, enjoyment, and hedonism, I don't believe he would want you to indulge for the wrong reasons. Whenever I felt too serious or caught in a downward spiral, he would remind me that it's okay to let loose, but also to stay attuned to my feelings. I don't think he would shun you if you're not having too much fun. If you're not feeling okay, then you're not feeling okay. There's nothing wrong with that.

If anything, Dionysus seems like the ultimate god of self-care. Taking your medication, staying hydrated or drinking other beverages (I personally find that hot chocolate boosts my mood), spending time with friends, or even enjoying a solitary walk in nature—all these activities can feel like acts of devotion. He is love and full of love. A god of duality and balance.

He can embody the warmth of summer and the freshness of spring, just as he can evoke the chill of winter. He's complex and multifaceted. He is a god of rebirth, death and immortality. He to me, resembles a phoenix. He means so much to me and my practice. My heart has so much room for him. He has shown me that regardless what I've experience, it is possible to change and heal. His own love feels poetic.

you are stuck in limbo–a state neither here nor there. the feeling won’t go away as long as you keep doing what you’re told. once in a while, there might be a voice calling to you from beyond the horizon and it’s longing for a response. listen to it, if you wish, but stay cautious. they only want what's best for you, but at the end of the day, they too want your agency for themselves. you won’t find what you’re looking for externally. looking inwards, there are things in your life that feel completely unsolvable. it’ll take years to ultimately find it in your heart to leave limbo for good. rest assured, it’ll be worth it. there will be more voices like the others. which are worth listening to depends on your will.

We moved house literally 2 days ago but setting up my altar again was all I wanted to do the second we got all our belongings into our new home! A bit more space than my last one and the process was extremely comforting and relaxing.

the world where you live is based on whole's memories. the house is his own, so it stays pretty consistent. the living room, the kitchen, a couple extra bedrooms for his thirds to live in... the town outside is a different story, a jumbled mess of childhood memories and landmarks and half-remembered street names.

no one lives there, of course. there's no one working the register at the corner store that whole used to visit as a kid, the one with the far too tall shelves, because that's how tall they were to whole at the time. no one lives in any of the nearby houses - in fact, there's nothing in them at all. the doors are painted on. whole never visits his neighbors, after all. no one works at the bakery downtown, though it always smells of fresh bread.

the world changes between loops as whole misremembers things. the streets don't intersect like they're supposed to anymore because whole doesn't know where they're supposed to meet. you're on one street, and then suddenly, you phase to another. there's no connective tissue. everything feels dreamlike, like those dreams where you're at your old school and then suddenly you're in the supermarket but the layout is all wrong.

it's always daytime, but the stars are still in the sky. how long has it been since you saw the moon? probably not since you locked him away.

the books in the library don't have titles. there are words in them, sure, but you don't understand any of it. whole never read these books. the bakery smells different now, and yet you still instinctually know that it's the smell of bread. did it change at all? are you going crazy? you're in the attic of his grandmother's house now. you don't even know her name. it still smells like bread.

the world where you live is based on whole's memories. he doesn't go outside much anymore.

A ramble on imposter syndrome and the accessibility of witchcraft

So, I’ve been thinking. I think a lot in case you haven’t noticed. Specifically, I’ve been thinking about the major imposter syndrome I’ve been feeling lately in regards to this blog. TL;DR is at the bottom of this post.

People have been, occasionally, sending me asks requesting my opinion on things/how I do things/what I know about XYZ topic. If you are one of these people, I promise I’m not vagueposting about you in particular- in fact, I love these questions! They’re so fun to get and they actually make me sit and think sometimes, or even encourage me to write out something that I’ve been meaning to for my book of shadows. Genuinely, they're wonderful asks to receive. These questions have made me confront something, however; my blog is still small, but some people actually like what I write and value my opinion even if just a little. 

I feel like a mimic hiding in the witchcraft community. I feel like, were people to truly understand my experiences, they would want to “expose” me for knowing so little.

So I sat down with those feelings and turned it over in my head and I’ve come to a conclusion. The fact is, I don’t do research. At least- not what I think of when people talk about research. My "research" consists of the occasional rabbit hole I go down, one and two halves of different books I never finished under my belt, what I see scrolling through various social medias, and conversations I've had with other witches. I check to make sure I'm not stepping on the toes of any closed practices- in fact, that's what most of my energy goes to when it comes to research. This isn't a complaint; I'd much rather know that my craft isn't appropriative.

But I don’t know much about mythology, even that of the deities I work with. I don't even remember the holidays and what they're for. I thought Nyx was an Egyptian deity until like four months ago because I'd just heard her name in passing as a child and had never looked into the mythology... Even though I mainly work with the pantheon she belongs to. Y’all, I’ve done like three spells that I remember. My book of shadows is a messy disaster and I love it but it's got so little information in it, because I rarely write things down. Most resources (especially mythology resources) are academically worded or difficult to read for me personally, and all of these things feel like secrets I have to guard with my life because if I were to ever say them aloud, people would know I'm a fraud.

Today I've come to the conclusion that that is, in fact, absolute bullshit.

Maybe it's not, maybe this post will make some people really upset, but in my practice it's bullshit. All of the above is a result of my ADHD and the fact that I am nothing if not a hands-on learner. My craft is mostly my own experiences because that's how my whole life is; I learn by doing. My ideal learning style is sitting with another autistic person whose special interest is whatever I'm learning about and just talking for five hours, but if that's not something I can do, puzzling it out myself is the next best thing. That's what I've been doing ever since I felt had a basic foundation for my craft. Hell, even before I had a foundation I was putting my own experiences into my craft because "Well that rule just doesn't fucking vibe with me."

This post is mostly for me, but partially for anyone who feels similar. We are not broken or doing witchcraft/paganism wrong. We are simply what happens when the kid who could never do homework ends up practicing the "religion/spirituality that comes with homework." Witchcraft and paganism, in my experience, is far from accessible when it comes to the typical image of it. UPG is what makes it accessible. So yes, my practice is heavily UPG, and I don't do as much research as I think people have assumed. But I'm going to let go of the idea that I'm a fraud, because frankly I know enough about witchcraft to have supported my practice this whole time and my deities haven't smited me yet so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

TL:DR:

Fuck the rules, I don't do much research. I've researched the "basics" and what I need to so I'm not stepping on any toes of closed practices, but people seem to think I know way more than I actually do. I've felt like I was lying this whole time but frankly witchcraft just isn't accessible to someone with my flavor of auDHD, so my craft relies heavily on UPG and I've decided that I'm not broken or wrong for that and neither is anyone else. I'm tired of seeing myself as an imposter just because I make my practice doable for me.

New Moon in Gemini

Tomorrow night, on May 26, 2025, the New Moon in Gemini will be a perfect time for setting intentions around thought patterns, communication, learning, mental clarity, and social connections. It will also be a Supermoon, which is when the full/new moon coincides with the moon's closest approach to Earth in its orbit. This causes the moon to appear slightly larger and brighter than usual and, even though the new moon is not visible in the sky, its influence is still more potent.

Along with this, this Supermoon in Gemini is especially significant because it aligns closely with Mercury, Gemini’s ruling planet, which is also in Gemini at this time. This alignment enhances themes of communication, learning, and adaptability. Additionally, the Moon’s favorable aspects with Neptune and Pluto add layers of intuition, creativity, and transformation to this lunation.

This New Moon is also notable as the final New Moon of spring, marking a powerful threshold for setting intentions related to personal growth and new beginnings .

While everyone is affected by this New Moon, those who have Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces as their Sun, Moon, or Rising signs may feel its effects more. Gemini is, obviously, directly brightened helping to aid in personal reinvention. Virgo and Sagittarius may experience shifts in their daily routines and belief systems, while Pisces may desire to balance their inner wisdom with thoughtful action.

This will also be a great time to make “New Moon Water” after sunset once the moon is “new” (for me in Pacific Time, this is the time between 8:00PM-12:00am on May 26.) One can also extend the time into the early hours of May 27th for about 8-10 hours after the New Moon’s strongest energy. So, this is perfect for charging your water with intentions around:
